I really like him, but he should be definite in his demands. Today he wants this and tomoroow he wants the opposite, that screws up my mind! Very intelligent and knows who is who, so you will never cheat him! I improved, though a LOT OF WRITING!!!!!!!

i feel like i've time traveled back to kindergarten. Treats the class like a bunch of kids but if you have 6 classes to worry about, who cares. His choice of books is ehh ok, they're all about love. Nothing too sophisticated but definetly not a bad class.

Dr. Heyden is a wonderful and intersting professor. These people are wrong when they say he's not helpful. He cares about his students and helping them to improve. Definitely take his class.

He is biased. Picks his favorites anf he doesn't teach that well. He lowers your journal papers on purpose even if there are no mistakes. Bad literature professor

A very nice and intelligent man. I had him 2 years ago for 2 lit classes. probably the nicest guy you will ever meet. Truly enjoys teaching, helps out students, and is a very fair grader.

You will not learn anything. Makes you read stories and type letters to the characters. It is super lame, but an easy A. It is sort of like a creative writing course

Amazing professor that attempts to really reach out to his students. Does a lot of short essays to help you prepare for the final essay. Very helpful and very friendly.

One of the best professors ive had at pace, i would take him again in a heartbeat. Hes one of the few profs that will teach you exactly how to write an essay in a non-scary tone. Very helpful and wants you to do well, hes very friendly and likes to connect with his students. Highly reccomend.

A great professor! I took a writing class with him where he taught us how to tutor students and how to improve our own writing. It was extremely helpful. Plus, he's so much fun and he's super nice and tells funny stories about his teaching history.

absolutely awesome professor. made class fun and interesting. an easy A. always willing to help and goes out of his way for his students. textbook he made us buy was never used however, so i recommend to wait and not buy it right away.

I would say that Dr.Heyden is probably the best professor here at PACE. He leads by example and shows you the tiniest details that make a big difference in your writing. Take him at all costs if you can.

In all fairness, he is a nice guy. But his teaching techniques do not make you a better writer.

we studied about marriage and love in his literature class. Since it's a writing enhanced class, we have to hand in papers for the 5 plays we studied in class. He got me really interested with all the plays, you have to do skit,live performace from the plays as well, very engaging!

Best professor so far, group projects were fun, I ended up doing a lil bit of acting. So much fun and interesting plays. Watched movies. Overall awesome class. Just do your work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR.

Overall, he's an easy professor. He makes you sit in groups every class (same people). You read your work outloud sometimes. He may occasionally ask you to read outloud from the book. I'd say his class is fairly fun and easy. Also his grading policy is weird. At the end I recieved an A-.

Great class! He's extremely nice. Two portfolios due: midterm and final. You sit in groups and go over work. Really easy and really fun! I'd recommend him to anyone.

This Professor does his job well. He is willing to assist students when ever necessary. I highly recommend anyone to take his class. If you put a lot of effort into your work, its an easy A.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! He's very lenient, though he does take attendance and he DEFINITELY knows if you don't come to class. Easy grader. For midterm portfolio, if you don't like your grade, he lets you resubmit for a higher grade [as many times as you want]. Easy A !
