Wonderful teacher, I would even go as far as saying he is the best teacher I have ever had. Truly cares about each student and will go far to help you. I have learned so much from his classes!

He makes you want to learn- one in a million

He's the best professor I have ever had. Funny, smart, charismatic....what else could you want in a professor? I learnt so much from his A&P course that I'll miss it! My grade for him?A++++++++++++!!!! If he was not also an MD I would think that he was born to become a teacher

The best professor I have ever had, ever! If you need to take A&P, take it with Dr. Hoover! He is very interesting, animated and very helpful.

His web course was great. He lets retake quizzes for better grades, gives you a practice final that ends up being word for word. He is SUPER FAIR by far the best teacher I've ever had. Even when things went terribly wrong with the web course he made it so everyone got the best grades possible. He wants to see everyone succeed. That's rare lately!!

HE IS THE BEST PROF..EVER... HE IS A REALLY NICE GUY. HE IS REALLY FUNNY AND THIS WILL DEFENETLY HELP U TO LEARN. I TOTALLY RECOMEND TAKING ANY CALSS WITH HIM. HE STICK TO THE SYLABUS AND GIVES SECOND CAHNCES TO STUDENTS THAT SHOW INTEREST IN LEARNING.

I could not add any more than what were already said in other reviews. I can only give you advice if you plan on taking his class. His class will fill up fast! Register on the very first day of registration. Any delay and you'll end up in the waitlist or never get in at all. Skip class or work if you have to. Twice I tried to get his class (A&P 1

He is a great professor! Bunker Hill is very luck to have him. He goes his way to help students and makes learning fun and enjoyable. Great environment. I learned alot.

There's a reason why his classes fill up on the first day registration opens. He's definitely the best professor I've ever had. I've had MDs for professors before and they were stuck up and snobby. Dr. Hoover, on the other hand, is funny and down-to-earth. I actually looked forward to going to his class every week because he made it so much fun.

Excellent teacher. Really wants folks to succeed. Relates his clinical examples back to the course material. If you do the work, and show an effort, he will go out of his way to help. Don't bother showing up to class/lab?... don't expect to pass. Sign up on 1st day of registration or you' wont get in. There's a reason.

There's nothing average about him. This guy's fantastic! Charismatic, caring, funny, musical, and "wicked smaaht" (like a young Sherlock Holmes!). Hoover really pushes his students to succeed - I couldn't ask for a better teacher :)

Dr.Hoover is a bit of a narcissist. He knows his stuff and is an entertaining teacher, but he thinks he can do no wrong. His quizzes online often have incorrect answers posted which is frustrating. He's a nice guy though and he shows how the material is relevant in the health care field.

Dr Hoover is the man! He is my favorite teacher ever, I register for him asap whenever possible. If you're wondering about him because of those couple bad reviews, don't! Just trying to sign up for his class is proof of him awesomeness. They're full the 1st day by noon.

Don't get me wrong he is a great professor, who obviously knows his stuff well. What I do not like about him is that he misses classes often and is late, I understand he has a lot going on between writing textbooks, and stuff, but as students we deserve to have a professor present and be taught!!!

One of my favorite professors ever (and I've taken a lot of courses!). He obviously cares about his students. He makes complicated subjects interesting, fun, and relevant. If you have a chance to take him for anatomy, do it! He is very fair with his testing.. no surprises or trick questions. And he works to help ALL his students succeed.

VERY clear, won't teach you anything you don't need to know. Packs on the workload, don't expect an easy class(you must put in effort to do well). A lot of hw, but gives study aid for tests if you earn it. May not READ assignments, just give 100% if you do it. Also a bit annoying(thinks he's funnier than he actually is)but at least he tries! :)

Definitely take it! If you are looking forward to learn something, he is the right teacher to take. You do have to put a lot of time and effort to succeed. He makes learning fun and explains the material with the examples you never forget))) Oh one more thing: please, don't forget: "If nerve cells are gone, they are gone F O R E-V-E-R!!!!!!!

Dr Hoover is a very smart man but he gives too much hw.. If youre looking for an A expect to study at least for an hour every day! Overall he is kinda funny and tech savy although he takes forever to answer an email back.. If you are commited to studying then take him!!

Dr. Hoover is the best Professor,will make sure you understanding all the material.He's willing to work with you to find different ways on passing. All test & exams are based on the materials you have learned in class & 80% of your exams are word for word from practice. He will help you the best way he can just be straight & honest with him.

"BIO 204 (SUMMER)" Awesome TEACHER!! Some of his jokes r dry & but they make it easier to understand material. He makes sure the WHOLE class understands material. Always answer question & will set up time with you 1:1 to make sure u have all the answers needed. I RECOMMEND taking all of his classes. Great,truly understanding no matter situation.

He is one of the most passionate & best teacher I have ever had. He is only hard because he gives a lot of homework but it is all for the best. If you cannot handle his class, I advise you not to go into the health/medical field. I would definitely recommend him to the student that are serious about their education and career in the medical field.

Dr. Hoover is the most passionate teacher you will ever meet. He's always happy to help you because he goes above and beyond until you understand. He wont leave you in the dark. With Dr. Hoover you will be the best and only the best because that's how he makes you feel.HINT:PLEASE REMEMBER this "where ever sodium goes water follows"

Prof. Hoover is Amazing. He is super knowledgeable. He does assign a lot of work and it is a fast pace class, but if you are going into the medical field you should not expect any less. If you do not mind working hard and learning then take him. Best prof. I've had so far :)

I really enjoyed Prof. Hoover. he's really nice and funny. The work load is a lot, and sometimes it's hard to keep up, but over all, it was a very enjoyable experience.

I absolutely loved Dr. Hoover! You need to be serious about taking this class, and make sure your not overloaded because it is a TON of work. He goes out of his way to try and explain things in an intriguing, comedic manner that truly makes memorizing the material easier. He is pretty cute too :)

took Hybrid summer - insane work but worth it! Dr Hoover is awesome, his jokes can be a bit OTT but you get used to them, by the end I found him funny. He has just a great way of explaining things, better than the book ever could. wish he taught in the nursing program.

Professor Hoover keeps the lectures interesting and explains things well. The course is extremely hard, but Professor Hoover grades fairly for those who do the work--don't give up! (Don't wait, start doing the extra credit assignment at the beginning of the semester. You are going to need the points.)

Great job highlighting material that'll be of practical use in medical field. Breaks down hard topics using analogies & offering different explanations so one is sure to make sense to you. Very willing to offer help. Sincerely interested in getting you to learn the material and take it seriously. Most entertaining/funny prof. Makes AP fun/enjoyable

He's very knowledgeable, considerate, engaging. Tech-friendly and savvy: Reading/ homework/ lecture all seamless via online platform. Big on critical thinking; what you'd expect from a doctor. He cuts through bureaucracy BS to make class time about learning. Also, he keeps students laughing, a plus in a 2+ hour class. Highly recommended.

Excellent professor. Very fair. Explains the content better than any professor I have every had. I would take him again and would recommend him to anyone!

You can tell he likes to teach and he makes every effort to make sure you learn.

VERY intelligent about the material he teaches. It is a rigorous course but, I mean the human body isn't something that is easy to grasp fully. It definitely is a ton of homework! My only issue was maybe if we could see more physically or do more activites and use ourselves in the labs it would be more useful.

Incredibly smart and accessible professor. A&P is not a breeze-- I put in around 15 hrs a week. Great preparation for nursing/health field

Hey, if you want to learn and not just coast this is the guy for you. Will you work for you grade, yes, but the process is clear & fair . If you are going into nursing- this is a cake walk compared to how much work you will be getting in the nursing program. He is an actual TEACHER. The BHCC nursing program is full of READERS. You'll see.

Work your butt off and you will get the grade you want.

If you want to know what you are going to need to be successful in nursing, take him!

Dr. Hoover is amazing, and actually TEACHES. Do the work, go to class and even if you miss class he will help you catch up and writes his lectures online. He uses real world examples and is super funny. He makes nursing education fun. Take him if you want to actually learn the material and not cruise by.

Very awesome professor, he explains very hard material in a very easy to understand way. He is very funny and teaches biology in a whole different way than other professors. He will help out out if you try. The content is challenging, but this is not a course for those seeking easy credit. Great lectures and exam reviews! Don't miss class.

If you want to learn and apply what you learned, Hoover is the professor for you. If you are looking for an easy grade, take someone else!

An awesome professor love him

I wish all my professors were like Dr. Hoover! He makes learning enjoyable. Homework and quizzes are online :) (love that) Test are fair, but make sure to STUDY! you get what you put into the class. I have used the online and physical textbook. I highly recommend the online textbook (easier to navigate)

I took the online Nutrition class and I was surprised by the ease I had doing it. Web classes are not for everyone, I appreciated how everything I needed was right there. That being said, there wasn't much interaction with Professor Hoover. Yes he times the tests, but that wasn't a big deal. Only thing I could say is I wish he emailed back sooner.

Dr. Hoover is a very good professor! He gives great reviews that are helpful when it comes to taking tests. He explains the text really well and answers questions thoughtfully. overall i enjoyed taking his class!

Professor gives us all the tools to get an A in this course,practice exams for midterm and final literally guaranteed an A. You must put in the time to get the grade. I can say YES there was a lot of homework. but this was not an issue of being set up to fail- HW is on CONNECT ppl . ALOT OF WORK BUT EASY MATERIAL. USE PRACTICE EXAMS PROVIDED!!

If you work full time or taking other classes do not take this class. It will take over your life. 15 hrs weekly was not enough for me and I am straight A student. Midterm is hard, and there is not enough time to answer it all. The teacher is very nice. I recommend take it in class if it is available.

Do the work, and you can definitely earn an A! There are many ways to get help while you are doing the work. If you use it, you will get all the points. I learned a lot, and the homework was actually fun. It was very visual, so you remember what you study.

Dr. Hoover is the only professor I have had that actually prepares you for life in scrubs. He teaches you how to apply what you're learning to what you will see in the medical field. His class is tough & his workload is very demanding but if you aren't willing to put the work in, then maybe you aren't as serious about your career choice.

I had Dr. Hoover for Bio 203, and wanted to make sure that I also had him for Bio 204. If you want to get an easy A, don't take his class, but if you want to deserve an A and know everything that you learned, I recommend taking his class. If you are going to complain about how much work he gives, I call that lazy. He has been my favorite professor.

When you know the material in and out like Dr. Hoover does he can't help to be as CORNY as he is. He could explain the human body to a tadpole and have the tadpole repeat it back to him! Pay attention, don't be shy and ALWAYS keep open communication with him. Dr. Hoover is one of the best resources. Amazeballs

Dr. Hoover is one of the greatest professors I've ever had. Lectures are very interesting & explains even the toughest concepts in a way that makes sense & can be retained, instead of memorizing from the book & forgetting it after a test. He speaks from his experiences as a MD so you not only get the book knowledge, but practical application too

Dr. Hoover enjoys and cares for his students. If anyone is complaining about how much work he gives, then they don't belong in the medical field. I have had other professors where they will put a student in the spot, and you will not get that from Dr. Hoover. I definitely recommend taking his class, you will learn tremendously.

Dr. Hoover is a great professor. He cares for his students and will help them in anyway possible as long as they are trying. Take his class, you will learn a lot. I needed a referral letter and he had it ready the next day. He is sweet, caring and funny.

He answers the questions, responds to the massages. If you are a student in nursing program, or allied health, this Professor is the right for you.

If you keep reading and doing your online Homework, you would get a higher B or A. not easy A, you need to work to earn it. He is really funny, explains very well. I love taking his classes! He is super funny and explains the subjects really well!! You will learn things and remember them easily when it came from his mouth, very impressive. But you gonna do really hard work on reading the textbook since it's almost impossible for him to cover every concept on it. He will make you fall in love with biology.

If you are looking for an extremely smart and caring teacher look no further! This professor is amazing and works really hard for his students. I took BIO 203 with him and am hoping I am able to get into one of his classes next semester! Warning, you will have to work for your grade in the class. If you don't do your work, you will not pass!

If you do all the homework and quizzes he ask you it will prepare you for his exams and you will pass the class with an A- or A. He answers any questions you have, if you need help to understand something he will put in extra time to help. Best A&P teacher at Bunker hill. Also he tells you question to remember for the teas test which is awesome.

Dr. Hoover is a wonderful Professor! His lectures are phenomenal - I highly recommend recording them. He is very funny and includes lots of real-life medical scenarios in his lectures. Yes, you'll work hard for a good grade, but this is material you need to know. Dr. Hoover really cares about his students and does his best to help everyone learn.

Amazing teacher. He teaches you things that other teachers don't. He tells you information that will be on the teas test. He teaches you in a way that you can remember things and be hands on. I would definitely takes this class. I reccomend taking this class if it is necessary for your major.

Hoover is an outstanding teacher. I took him for bio204 in the summer ( which is 15 weeks worth of bio in 8) and he made everything so easy. He does give a lot of homework but nothing you cant handle. He never took attendance once so missing class isnt that much of an issue. He is helpful in every way and I highly recommend.

I took him recently for the spring semester. The man is a bad mofo, in that he will drill concepts in your head enough that you get tired of it. If you take his hybrid course (online+lecture) PLEASE DON'T PROCRASTINATE cause it's going to be a tough time doing the readings and hw.

He give you opportunity to get high grade. All you need is persistence and finish all works that he will mention in syllabus. He will limit which chapters he will give in da tests.

Took his course jan 19 in chelsea and had to take an ip grade. I came back to finish it out on the main campus fall 2020. He was one of the best professors I've ever had. Very clear grader and gives extra credit. Super understanding guy. Would definitely take again.

One of the best teachers at bhcc. I took the accelerated courses with him. Super easy as long as you do the readings which are really easy and the homework. There is a midterm and final but he gives you the study guide which is the same thing as the test. Does a great job teaching the material, really explains it well and in a funny way. MUST TAKE!

Dr. Hoover was an amazing educator. There's no sugar coating on the material being dense and the workload being heavy, but it's for your benefit. His lectures are amazing as well as his overall energy. He is thorough with making sure everyone has the tools they need to succeed in his class. Don't fall behind on your work and you should be fine.

I enjoyed a lot the class with Mr. Hoover. Lectures were fun and great. He answers all your questions to have better understanding of the subject. You will have practice tests that will help you with mid/final exams. Study a lot, take notes, get ready for homework with many attempts possible to get 100 and you will be great. I recommend you A++

I love his lectures, he explains very clear and understanding. Homework takes time, but if you do homework - you get a good grade. He is grading very clear and on time. Fast response, I very recommend his classes.

Amazing professor, he explains his lecture so well and is very entertaining and knowledgable, lots of homeworks and online labs but it is very helpful towards the tests, which by the way are online, midterm practice has half the questions from the test, professor Hoover is the best by far, will def pick him for AP2

An absolute godsend of an Anatomy and physiology II teacher. He is an MD, so he only teaches you the stuff you will need in real life. His lectures are extremely engaging and funny, and he will answer any question you ask him in a heartbeat. It's a lot of work for sure, but if you plan on doing anything in the medical field, PLEASE take Hoover. #1

This class is time consuming & has lots of reading required. Each week you read a chapter, do a reading assignment, a homework assignment, and two labs. All work is available from the beginning of the semester so you can go ahead if you want. Overall an easy class but time consuming like I said.

Dr. Hoover is a great, knowledgeable professor. He breaks things down in entertaining lectures that are much easier to understand than the textbook. His grading system is very fair as well. Heavy workload, but that is to be expected in any anatomy class. The workload will prepare you for nursing/allied health programs. Would def take him again!
