The BEST. Very helpful, teaches from the clinical standpoint. Do your work, study and you will pass. Slightly cocky, but it seems to work for him.
He makes teaching fun! I love this class. If you study, you will have a good grade. The lab tests are straight forward. The lec tests are very eazy if you study. TAKE HIM 4 YOUR CLASS !
Tells you something will be on an exam, goes on & on about it then not on the exam! You had better study equally:his lecture notes, the text book etc.He will be oh so helpful if you are either an A student or a young blonde or brunette who giggles at his every dumb joke. Felt as though a smart alecky 12 year old was teaching.
Incredibly knowledgeable, and willing to explain things that are unclear to you. I would highly recommend him, as he is one of the best teachers I've had in years.
SHows too many movie clips. kinda funny. Too many stories too, overall good teacher.
OK teacher. Thought it was weird that on the first day he made everyone come down single file to get their syllabus. Felt like I was in church going up to receive communion. Weird. He wastes of lot of time with trivial b.s. stories that aren't really relevant to the material. I think he just likes having an audience. Spends time giving extrane
hes a great teacher except he is a lil' hard...he makes material fun with all the stories he tells us...teaches from a clinical standpoint but will go over the material again and again if needed...i barely used my text but still gotta B...i highly recommend him for a teacher if u dont like being bored in class...
FP students are lucky to have him as a teacher. Really knows his stuff and loves the topic. He goes really fast so you have to be prepared for class or else you'll be doing a lot of catch up. He's not a tough teacher - it's just a tough subject. Had him for A&P2 as well. Compared to other A&P teachers he is much more knowledgeable. Recommend!
Great teacher, keeps you awake, moves fast. A&P is a busy subject but he gets to the point and you know what to be ready for on the tests. Extremley knowledgeable and fun, student friendly make up and attendance policies. His lectures are stored in the library on disk and gives you the notes so you can listen in class. Highly recomended!
Dr. Huber is an AWESOME teacher!!! A&P is a difficult subject because there is so much material to learn, but he makes it fun!!! He is extremely helpful and incredibly fair!!! I am taking his class for A&P II next semester and I can't WAIT!!! I would DEFINATELY reccomend Dr. Huber to EVERYONE!!!!!! Plus he's kinda cute........LOL!!!!
he is hard as well as his tests. in order to pass the class you have to be in class every day, take note, read his lecture notes, read the book, and look some slides and pictures online. otherwise, it is really hard to pass with high grade.
Dr. Huber is a very funny. He tells interesting stories and goes fast during lecture. You really have to devote all your time to this class, lots of reading, lots of studying, and lots of tests.
Material is not too difficult, it's just anxiety producing. Huber does a fantastic job of calmly explaining details to help you get a better understanding of matrial. His story telling is typically germane and is helpful when your brain needs a break. It's always wonderful to have an instructor who loves the subject matter. Watch DVDs too!
Horrible, its literally the worst experience I have had in a class thus far. I have a 4.0 GPA, and have A's in the rest of my classes, besides this one. Struggling to make a C! Tests are hard, and don't go by the book.
yikes
I honestly didn't think he was all that great. I struggled a lot in this class and I got almost an A in A&P I with another professor. He's nice to look at, lol, but so so great of a teacher.
TERRIBLE!!!!! Worst professor I have EVER had! Got an A in A&P 1 with another professor and got a D in A&P 2???? How does that work? I took Anatomy in high school too and got an A! Worst semester ever and precisely the most horrific experience with any class. Awful...
AP 2 is a MUCH more difficult class than AP 1, regardless of instructor. I thought I had a strong Anatomy background, and I learned so, so much more. Dr. Huber covers the material well, and for practical application. You cannot just go to lecture and read the chapter. If you are there to learn, he's absolutely the best you can get.
I took A&P I and II with Dr. Huber over the summer. It was a difficult task to learn the material in 10 weeks, but it is possible to do if you put in the time and effort to succeed. I attend a 4 year college and I felt that he was one of the most interesting and knowledgeable teachers I have had in the sciences!
The best science professor that I had in 15 years
His bark is a lot bigger than his bite. He makes you think that the tests are going to be impossible to pass but then you take them and they're pretty easy. I studied maybe twice during the whole class and passed with a C, which for A&P is pretty amazing. If you show up to class and are conscious through it, you'll be fine...
Dr. Huber is an excellent teacher: very knowledgeble, fair, and helpful. I took both A&P I & II with him and feel lucky to have had him as a teacher. I would highly recommend Dr. Huber who is considering taking A&P and want to really understand and learn the material.
Not an easy professor, but extremely knowledgeable and makes the subject matter very exciting (very important, in my books). If you are intelligent AND if you put in the time (10-14 hrs a week of studying) - you WILL get your "A".
He's an amazing teacher!
I am amazed that he is not teaching at Wash U or Ivey League Schools. If you can take A&P I or A&P II with him - do it, he is a genius and has a great sense of humor.
My first impression was that he was going to be a good teacher...then we had our exams. He is somewhat condescending and seems to enjoy tricking students. Not an easy "A" by any means!!
He is extremely smart and knows it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. He does like to see the students stressed, but then reassure them. He knows his stuff so well that he will overload you with info and tell you that you should know it all. I think he forgets this is an intro class. He does want you to do well. I'm taking A&P 2 w/his wife, Dawn
Best professor at Forest Park. Probably my favorite teacher ever. If you study his material, you will get an "A" without too many problems.
Great teacher. He is fun and made it easy to learn.
This teacher has a wealth of information to share and understand teaching methods. He provides engaging lectures and goes the extra mile with supporting materials. He challenges his students to work hard to succeed in the class but the A is possible if the energy and time are put forth. Students will undoubtedly learn a lot and he is funny.
This professor will tell you everything you need to know and much more! Not a good thing, because anything on the study guide is on the test as well as the extra information he went over in class. He likes to test you on things he barely went over. This class is a lot of information with very little clarity on whats on the test. Study everything!
Informative, AND entertaining,..what more could ya want?!!
Very Tough Subject but best teacher for the job. Tries to simplify things for you, and test questions are very clear to understand. Gives bonus sometimes if he feels question was too hard. Took this during summer so we had to cram everything. This teacher wants you to succeed. Likes to entertain and tell stories as well. If you apply yourself>AorB
It was pretty annoying to hear how "easy" other students' A&P 2 classes were in comparison to Huber's. It was a completely frustrating semester FILLED with information. HOWEVER, I am now taking pathophys and having had Huber the course is a breeze so far. Do the work now and later you will be glad you did!
An intelligent man, but a very unsuccessful instructor. Exams are focused on minute details in textbook instead of concept comprehension. Although this is an introductory class, he delights in confusing and ridiculing students. Even with dedication and many, many study hours, the top grades obtained in this class were all B's. Do NOT expect an A.
Dr. Huber teaches at a very high level, but he really knows the material and is an excellent lecturer. His lecture notes follow the text and tests are at a basic level. If you read the text, learn the lecture material and do well on the lab exams (straight memorization) you can get an A. He likes students to interact with him & answer questions.
If you really learn his study guides, you will get an A. He offers a lot of extra credit points as well. He is a very clear teacher. I don't understand why anyone would rate him poorly--he is so informative. Highly recommend.
First of all let me say that Huber knows his stuff. But I think he fails to realize that this is a beginners course to A&P and gives way too much info and that cn sometimes be confusing. He is a Dr. so he sees this type of stuff everyday. He expects too much for this being a intro class to AP.
hard teacher
UPDATE: Took his class last semester and got a D....Retook the class with a different teacher and have an A. Nice, Funny guy but hard teacher. Lots of extra information.
Took Huber for A&P 1 and 2. Very good teacher. Thought his lecture exams were pretty straight forward. Multiple choice and what not. His lab exams you really need to study for. I was in the hybrid class so watching lecture is a must. If you put the work in you will learn a lot and get an A.
Took hybrid A&P I with Dr. Huber. Great instructor, learned a lot! Kept class interesting and I found tests straight forward if you studied. He is a little difficult to get ahold of outside of class and is not the fastest at posting grades but he makes up for it with his knowledge of the subject!
extremely knowledgable teacher! one of the most interesting classes I've had because of all the clinical stories he likes to tell. You definitely won't be falling asleep in class. Lecture test is fairly easy but lab test you really have to study for because it is pretty detailed.
Dr. Huber was great! The subject matter can be very difficult and he took the time to explain it well. I took the hybrid course for AP1&2 in the spring semester so we only met once a week for the lab. If you read the notes he provides and watch his lectures off the DVD's you will be successful. He advises to study in groups too! Very cooperative!
Very knowledgeable!
This is one of the best teachers that I've ever had. He goes way deeper in detail than needed though.
Being a MD he expects a lot from his students, but if you study and work for your grade you will be rewarded. His lectures were never boring, but he covers tons of information quickly. If he doesn't lecture on it, you will not be tested on it, or expected to know the information. He is the best A&P teacher, and I plan on taking his BIO 208 class.
He's a very intelligent man, but his online class is rough. I was ready to work hard for my grade, but when I'd ask for feedback on what areas I was struggling with most (you can see your test score, but not which questions you got right or wrong) his responses were extremely vague. He was very slow to respond, even on errors he made in grading.
This instrocture one of the worst I have ever met . Give difficult roles , don't allow for recording the lecture and speak so fast . He is not helping his students at all and I don't know how they give him a high rate . I dropped his class
I took AP II online and the answers to all of the exams were only a google search away. With only an hour for 50 questions, you do have to be quick but i was surprised at how easy the course was compared to face-to-face lectures. If you have a choice, always go for having your book and the internet at your fingertips during a test!
Don't take this guy. At the end of the semester, I was close to the next letter grade, asked for extra credit and was ignored. It was fine until I found out he bumped up another students grade up to a different letter grade who was in the same predicament. His lectures weren't helpful, he moves really fast. All of my studies were from the book.
Great lecturer, really knows his stuff! Just attend class, pay attention, read the text book, and you'll be fine. Most people in my class went to the anatomy library to study, but I studied for lab exams only from my notes and google image. I got an A in both A&P 1 and 2. He is willing to clarify lecture topics after class and during office hours.
Professor Huber is a great teacher. You have to study hard and pay attention to lectures. In the long run you will pass. He is very informative and he even gives you examples in the medical field. I am a student that is up in age and sometimes it was a little trying to comprehend some of the information but Prof. Huber was there to help.
he does not give extra credit at all. Do not take this class on line.
I took this class for four weeks online over the summer. Don't do that! A&P is hard enough in person, let alone online. The tests were incredibly difficult, and while you could Google 90% of the answers, you won't learn very much that way. I made it through by using supplemental materials I found on my own (flash cards, coloring books, etc.).
This man plays with the grades and will not answer emails or the phone. He is unprofessional and don't like to be challenged. Don't take this class!
Do not take his class! He will not help you and every time you ask a question he will not answer it he will refer you to the syllabus. Also he will change give you a very low score then change it when you say something about it. I hated this class.
This class was extremely hard. The lab exams were especially difficult and full of questions that were not covered in the lecture or textbook. The images were unclear. The instructor was not helpful so know that you are on your own.
I loved the online version of A&P. Dr. Huber presents very thorough lectures and provides you with everything you need to do well. You just have to do the work. Tests are tricky so study! Responds to emails in a timely manner. Read the syllabus! He does offer "bonus points" in the way of lab assignments but says he doesn't give "extra credit".
This online class was tough. The lecture exams were easy, but the lab tests were awful. The images were extremely unprofessional, and many of the structures and slides were not covered in the online presentations. He does give extra credit though. He is very unhelpful answering questions.
Dr. Huber is the worst teacher I've ever had. His lab tests are ridiculous. Some multiple choice questions have literally 25 choices. When you ask questions, he copies and pastes from the syllabus and emails it back to you. He doesn't care whether you learn the material or not, only that you don't bother him.
Does not offer help and does not care if you understand the material.
Stay away, that's all you need to know. Awful!!!
Dr. Huber is a wonderful professor. ANATOMY IS HARD. Don't expect a professor to make it easy--if they do, they are not helping you in the long run! I studied a lot and got an A. If you do not study a lot, you will not get a good grade. His lectures were interesting and he made them fun. Excellent teacher.
Dr. Huber is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's a tough-love kind of guy. If you don't get something right, it's wrong - end of story. His class is hard, but you will learn so much and it will stick with you because his stories are quite memorable. He also has the strangest sense of humor that is perfect for this subject matter.
Dr. Huber is a great teacher that enjoys what he does. He has a strange sense of humor which at least keeps the class interesting. I would recommend this class for any health major. However, grades are all based off tests and he really expects you to know your stuff- the tests are murderous. Good luck to you!!
This online class was horrible, 2 hours worth of lecture videos takes 4+ hours to view because he talks too fast and no power point materials are given - absolutely everything must be retyped. No additional study guides are given. Lecture and lab videos are taken offline 24 hours BEFORE the tests. Tests are difficult, lots of trick questions.
Worst instructor EVER. Does not review graded exams with class, does not give exams back to see what was missed. Lab exam and lectures don't always match up. Lecture videos are 2+years old and do not completely match new book. In his online lectures which is audio and pp, he smacks his lips ALOT which is annoying and makes it hard to listen to.
Dr. Huber is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire academic career. He is extremely enthusiastic in lab lecture and it makes learning about human anatomy very inspiring. The course is obviously tough considering the content of the course material, but if you put the time and effort into it, you can definitey get an A. I did!
Definitely challenging but an "A" is possible. If you are going into Allied Health or Nursing, you will definitely be prepared.
Dr. Huber definitely knows how to prepare his students for the medical field. He honestly goes through the material so fast that you are left clueless. This class requires a lot of your own teaching. This class is extremely hard if you are trying to balance any other classes with it. I would recommend taking anatomy 1&2 in 2 different semesters
CONDESCENDING!!! Is not helpful. Does not go over missed info on tests. Do not take if you don't have at least 6 hours "extra" for reading material & watching YouTube lectures. This class is student led, he does not lecture -which makes is difficult to follow & impossible to get through the required material. Doesn't care if you understand.
Solid, passionate prof. Interesting enough to keep my attention though 4 hour lectures. Felt like he rushed through lab at times. The exams were generally easier than expected. You have to study outside of class, BUT IT'S A&P. Expect to do work. Lazy people may not like him, but watering down this class is not doing anyone a favor in the long run.
Terrible! I hated this class. He is condescending and dismissive, and doesn't like to be questioned. He actually had a policy in the syllabus that he will not answer any questions about the tests except immediately after taking it. Doesn't return the tests so you don't know what you got wrong, doesn't go over the tests. Worst class of my life!
You have to do all the reading assignments or you lose 10% of the grade. The lab exams are the worst. He makes you watch and memorize 3-5, 30-60 min videos for each exam. You literally have to memorize everything he says and he gives trick questions. Instead of you doing the lab and labeling yourself, you watch him do it.
Professor Huber is the worst teacher I have ever encountered. If you do not complete every assignment he punishes you by deducting 10% off of your final grade. He is very rude and condescending. Do not take this class. His lab test are terrible. He does not like to answer questions or reply to e-mails. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Worst class of my life. Rude, dismissive, and a terrible communicator. If you ask him a question he answers something nonsensical and irrelevant. If you email him he takes days to respond and then just tells you to refer to the syllabus. Not a PhD or an MD but a "doctor" of chiropractic. Take any other professor but avoid this guy.
I took the online Anatomy 1 class and it was very organized and you get used to the schedule fast. The lecture exams were easy if you studied and knew the material. On the other hand the lab exams were hard. I watched the videos all the way through and took really good notes, but it was still hard for me to get a good grade on the lab exams.
Online A&P1. Lab tests super hard. No textbook used. He records long lectures of himself & we watch for all tests. Doesnt answer emailed questions quickly or clearly.
I am baffled by these reviews. Dr. Huber was one of the best prof. I've had and he does a great job of keeping my attention and giving his students all of the information needed to be successful (and more). He has def. encouraged me along this journey to becoming a nurse. Couldn't recommend him enough!
Worst teacher Ive ever had missed 2 lab assignments and took 10% of my grade.
Awful teacher. Awful at answering emails
If I could give this guy a 0/5 I would. In every email he referred to the syllabus, for example I asked if he could help me out better understanding how to use his "grading system," and he just kept being rude and sending me the syllabus. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!! His lab exams were also so hard, and the pictures he'd post were unidentifiable.
The homework for this class was outrageous. 280+ questions for one concept. And if you miss even one of the homework assignments he'd dock 10% off your entire grade. This teacher needs to take a look on how his students are reflected after.
This teacher is terrible.
These lab exams were so ridiculous it was actually pretty funny.
this course was taken during the summer and I expected it to be rushed. He has no people skills. This the wrest teacher I had for A&P 1. His labs are very hard even if you study. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS if you have a full time job and a famiky.
Simulation labs, and lecture exams were pretty easy. The reading assignments you have to do or el se you lose 10% of your grade. There are A LOT of questions each week for them 200+ sometimes. Lab exams were more difficult
This teacher is absolutely horrible. I got a B in the class but only because I worked day and night nonstop studying. This teacher expects you the knowledge of a doctor. The lab exams were so messy it looks like a 4 year old picked the images, horrible graphics you can't determine what it is, Im sure if he was asked he'd be dumbfounded.
Huber is the professor that everyone has something negative to say about but in all actuality he just wants his students to learn and know what they have learned. I took him for 2 semesters. He's understanding but you have to put in the work. Lab lectures study extra hard for.
I would not take a class taught by him again if it were offered for free.
Lab exams are extremely difficult. Even if you memorize everything, you still don't know what he is asking for. He chooses awful pictures and labels. Extremely unhelpful when enquiring about test score and where you have opportunities. If you want to learn DO NOT TAKE this professor. He sets deadlines, grades, and not much else. CONDESCENDING
This teacher is HORRIBLE. I would never recommend him to anyone he gives so much homework for an online class. When you email him about a question he tells you to look at the syllabus even if the question won't be on there. My book came in late through the book store and he made me buy it again because we had stuff due. Worst teacher I have ever!
Most HORRIBLE instructor ever! Lecture&lab exams aren't what he covered in lecture. Lab exams are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, even after going over the lab lecture with a fine tooth comb & learn every single detail, does not put any of it on the exams. The lab pictures he show in the lecture are not on what he uses for the exams. Don't respond to emails
Overall Professor Huber gets an undeserved bad rap here. It is a TOUGH class! Its Anatomy and Physiology PEOPLE! Yes the homework assignments can be excruciating! The Lab Exams are the toughest exams a student will take, however, he gives plenty of extra credit assignments to make up for poor test scores. READ THE SYLLABUS! IT'S ALL THERE!
This was the worst instructor I have ever had. Dr. Huber talks down to you by addressing you as "Dear Student" instead of your name. When he finally responds to an email, he will tell you to read the syllabus. Our syllabus had the wrong course code on it! His pre recorded lectures are form years ago. The images on his tests are blurry. Awful!
It has been very hard to correlate the exam questions with what was provided in the course. Could not experience a teaching and learning cycle. Tried to do best anyway. I would recommend avoid this instructor if you want to learn something get a true score on what you learnt and deserved.
Great teacher. He was always available for us and tried to make things easier on us if we told him what we needed. Homework/quizzes/tests were a bit out of left field. But other than that.. pretty good class
So much homework. Pre recorded lecture. No live interaction. Lab exams are near impossible as he uses poorly computer generated sketches asking you to name parts that you can barely make out.
Professor Huber definitely displayed great knowledge in the class and show a great passion for what he was teaching. His teaching style unfortunately does not match my learning style. His class requires a lot of independent study and he does not give you very much to aid in studying. Overall, great professor teaching style didn't match me.
He has a great enthusiasm for what he does! When asked a question, he doesn't provide an answer beneficial to obtaining clarity. Being a first time student to A & P, I was expected to understand terms and use terms I wasn't familiar with.
Dr. Huber is not kind or friendly. He is not encouraging and loves to talk about how dumb people are. That being said, I did learn a lot, but only because I'm motivated and hardworking. The online lectures are recorded by his wife. There are no provided materials besides an outdated, inaccurate lab agenda. If you are lazy, you will fail.
Dr Huber is an unbelievably incredible teacher. self-study is almost impossible for me, and even i was able to learn so much from him. im not sure where all these negative reviews came from,he is very kind and accommodating - if you show up for him, he shows up for you.its a difficult class cause the material is complex, not cause hes a bad teacher
I had this professor in 2018. I still remember how poorly he treated me. Five years later and still thankful that I will never encounter him again.
be ready to study everyday all day when taking bio ap lectures are good but lab is really hands on and basically what you remember of the lecture. so, if you are a student that doesn't pay attention or not studying. I would not recommend this class for you. but professor Huber is there to help so please ask questions.
He usually assigns 4 smartbook assignments each week. There are roughly 150-200 concepts (OCCASIONALLY, we had just below 100, but not often) and the estimated time is 5-7h for each module. That is nearly 20-30h a week just on homework, keep in mind it is only worth 4 points. It is ridiculous on top of tests and lab. This class is a full-time job.
Professor Huber was an amazing professor to have for A&PII. He breaks up his lectures with hilarious stories that end up tying in to what we are learning. You will need to pay attention and create good study habits, as long as you do you will pass the class. He will help you if you help yourself. I wish he taught some of the nursing classes here.
condescending, ridicules students who mispronounce words, cold, and obviously does not care if students are able to grasp material. Does not like it when students ask questions, does not allow access to power points used in class, very slow to answer emails if they're answered at all.
Professor Huber's class is challenging but manageable. The lectures and materials can be dense, but using resources like the textbook, study sessions, and tools like unstuck AI can really help with preparation. Overall, an informative course if you're willing to put in the work.
He isn't understanding what he is talking
Avoid his online A&P like the plague. Smartbook is only worth 4 pts for 50+ questions, takes hours to complete. Exams are 100% of the grade. Majority of those who passed likely cheated. Labs are just videos of him clicking around on a digital model. No lab quizzes. No other assignments. Not for those who work full time. His emails are word salad.
To pass Professor Huber class. You should start studying, reading over the lab manual slides-taking notes, etc., the Friday before the semester starts. Monday when you have access to the smartbook assignment, that is when you start working on them. When you arrive for class he expects you to have done the above, as well as READ THE SYLLABUS!
