Knows his stuff.....I'm just wondering why he's not a doctor.
Hunter is the best teacher I have ever had. I took his class in '98 and failed. I returned to his class in Fall 2002 because I knew he was a great teacher. He gave me the desire to learn and gave me the feeling that I could succeed. I earned A's in A&P1&2
Professor Hunter was my favorite teacher. He was helpful and he wanted everyone to succeed, you can tell by the way he offered extras and was available for anything you needed. Also, anatomy can be a tedious subject, but he kept it fun and exciting.
Simply Amazing Professor! Challenging, Enjoyable, Compassionate, Humorous, Ethical, and Smart as Heck! He pushes his students to study and to learn because he believes in them and truly finds enjoyment in seeing them succeed. I'll always be his fan!!!
He teaches his students very well yet he gave exams a little bit hard especially if you get caught not being serious to every detail what he mentioned in class. Overall for me, he is a great teacher.
GREAT GUY, GREat TEACHER. The only bad thing is if you think you dont have to study because your having fun in his class your wrong... as long as you study he is an overall easy teacher and you will leran your stuff
amazing professor, actually enjoyed going to his classes, i had him for 3 different ones, respects his students and deserves the same respect in return
Incredibly knowledgable, really pushes his students to learn as much as possible, fun to listen to. VERY difficult tests.
Even though the tests are difficilt, Professer Hunter is easy to understand in lecture and always willing to answer questions. Overall an excellent professer who really seems to enjoy his job.
Extremely interesting, knowledgeable. Does not curve.
Very hard, talks too much...will give you the grade you earn...doesn't give you the benefit of the doubt. DO NOT SUGGEST HIM!!!!!
Tough tester, but excellent
He is the best professor I have ever had- and I graduated with a degree from a NY State school... He gets you excited about the topic and is extremely knowledgable. I got an A in his class, but I worked VERY hard and got what I what I worked for.
He is the best professor I have ever had. He is soooo clear on teaching subjects, that there is no way possible not to understand him at the end of lecture. The fact that he managed to learn everyone's name in the two years I knew him-and he remembered!
Great. Nice guy, very smart, and communicates well; one of the good ones who will help you
Great guy will do anything to help. Some test questions are tricky. Lectures are interesting. An "A" is obtainible if you work for it. Doesn't go into great depth on the subject. Pre-printed notes. Don't buy the text book, I never opened it. Nice guy loves to teach and truly cares.
do not reccomend!!!! very high on himself. notes in book are unclear. He say's not to use the book, but i have to to clear up what he doesn't teach. very discouraging.
VERY HARD. DOESN'T TEACH YOU EVERYTHING BUT PUTS ON TESTS ANYWAY. TESTS ARE EXTREMELY HARD. NO MATTER HOW MUCH TIME YOU PUT IN TO STUDING (AND I STUDIED ALOT) HE ALWAYS TRIPS YOU UP IN THE TESTS.

Great guy, not all that hard. Finished with high A's for AP I & II. Prof. Hunter will do almost everything he can to help. Cares about his students and wants them to learn. Nursing classes are not easier than this people.........
Professor Hunter definitely makes A&P 2 a challenge, but if you put in the time and effort, it's defintely possible to get an A from him. The wording on his exams are alittle bit tricky. After you leave his class, you definitely feel like you've learned ALOT.

he'll do everything in his power to help a student, makes everything very understandable if u just go back and study what he tells you, you can ace his class
If you take Hunter, you're going to have to work hard. BUT, you'll never have a teacher who is as clear, interesting, or funny. He doesnt want you to memorize as much as he wants you to think about and consider what he teaches. A hard class, but well worth the effort. I dont think I've forgotten a single thing I learned in his class. I highly recommend him to anyone who isnt just looking for an easy A.
Hes awesome! if you are going into nursing this is the class to take. i never opened my textbook once, you only need his lecture notes. Dont get behind and you def have to study and know all the details. THIS CLASS IS NOT AN EASY A!! it is def possible to get an A i ended with a 97 and in highschool i was just an average student. GOOD LUCK!!!
very helpful, emails me back all the time, has a good sense of humor. great class. take anatomy and physiology with him!
Wonderful professor who really knows his stuff. Provides notes to students so book reading isn't necessary. Lectures are interesting and it helps to tape them to study from. Works your butt off but teaches you tons and the material is taught in a way that you can easily understand it. Great professor, I highly recommend him for A&P courses.
I took his class last sem and didn't get the chance to rate him. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my whole student life. Knows his stuff, approachable and helpful. But don't think his class is easy to pass. You have to be a diligent student to get a decent grade. So glad I had him for AP2 cause it is helping me a lot in RAD today.
Take him if you want to fail.
do not miss an exam --make-ups are essays
i took him during the summer, and at first i was scared he'd be a really hard teacher. it's not that he's hard the material is hard. he was helpful and understanding about everything! yes u have to work your ass off but it is a science course. I enjoyed his class ALOT!
Great teacher! I wish he taught every subject! Awesome lectures. The lecture notes he provides really allow you to focus on what he's teaching instead of scribbling like mad while trying to listen. Other professors should do the same. He's always willing to answer questions.
He is very heplful. If you need help and ask for it he will give you answers. He helps you understand with his amazing analogies. Its not easy but loves what he does and he keeps you interested.

unbelievably nice. took a&p1 with him and was looking forward to taking a&p2 and biomed ethics with him but sadly he is taking a sabatacle for the fall07 but he will be back next spring. a wonderful teacher, helps you understand the difficult material. if you pay attention in class and study there is no way you will fail. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!
I took A&PI and hated it very much. A&PII taken 2x, both with prof. Hunter. First time finsihed with D, 2nd time B. Very helpful, relates everything to something more conceivable and able to dumb things down. Brilliant man!
Professor Hunter should be modeled by all teachers. He cared enough to make his own book so students don't have to buy that almost $200 book. He is extremely nice and compares A& P to real life things. He is NOT cocky and does NOT play favorites. Study hard, it will be worth your while. Definitely need to put in the time though. Make study groups
Had him for A&P 2, awesome teacher. Very helpful and fair.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Had him for AP 1 and AP 2! Knows his stuff & is a wonderful teacher who is very clear & offers a lot of help: e-mail, web page & practice questions etc. You will have to put the time in to get the grade!! Get a 100% on any lecture exam and he gives you a bottle of champange! (Didn't happen in either of my classes but good luck!)
worst professor ever
For goodness' sake, go to class on his assigned test dates. That's all I can tell you. His makeup exams are impossible no matter how much blood, sweat, and tears you put into studying...
Tests are extremely hard and he doesn't use the book.
Horrible professor. Get tested on info you are not taught. Does not use the book so have to go by his lecture notes which the info you are told to study from is not on the test.
He really knows his stuff. And he wants YOU to know as much as he does, so yeah, those tests are darn near impossible. But as compared to the other A&P guy usually teaching (not saying names), he's a more efficient professor; he knows the answers to anything and everything you could possibly ask. It's a really hard class either way though.
Good lecturer and nice guy but tries to trick students on the tests. Would not recommend him.
I took the Bioethics class with him and enjoyed the class. I've heard he can be a hard professor but he was very laidback and easygoing. We didn't use the textbook once and he led discussions using handouts he gave out in class. He based his grading off of 7 papers and your participation in class discussions.
I had Hunter for A&P 1, didn't find him that hard and got B's on his exams. The final exam was very difficult, as it was extremely geared towards the nervous system which we had never been tested on. I studied on my own and always met with a friend the night before exams. Just study, do his online questions and you'll be fine, but beware the final
Very difficult class, very effective teacher! This is not an easy A class, he makes you work hard for it, but his teaching style is fantastic! To this day I still remember everything he taught us about the cardiovascular system. He is THE teacher to take for anyone going into the nursing program!
A&P is an intensive class. Not easy stuff to learn, but I think he does an EXCELLENT job making it as simple and enjoyable as possible. Don't think you will pass without putting in the effort. Good study habits are the key. Read ahead in the book, study along the way. Cramming won't work here. I recommend him for lab as well.
I was intimidated by AP at first, but once I figured it out Prof. Hunter's style, I got an A. My tips: 1. Buy his classnotes and study for exams from them - 98% of the answers will be found there. 2. Take HIS lab section - others are MUCH harder 3. Go to class - duh. 4. Read the text BEFORE you go to class. Then the material won't be new to you.
A brilliant guy! Great lectures, always interesting. Highly accessible via email for last-minute questions about the material. Clear, concise lecture notes that went well with the book. (Yes, I did read the book, and recommend doing so.) If you really want to learn and don't mind putting in the time, Dr. Hunter is the one to take for A&P.
Absolutly brilliant! A great professor, Love going to his class. His lectures are intereseting and always makes sure you understand; uses a lot of helpful analogies. Attendance and frequent studying is mandatory if you want a good grade. Take him and you will not be dissapointed. =)
one of the difficult and hard to get professors of CCM. His tests and especially final exam was impossible. He really knows a lot about the course and he expects the same from his students. Please do not take him for A&P unless you want to get a bad grade. Don't listen to others. If you've no science background then you will regret taking his class
Professor Hunter is very hard. If you do not have any past science experience DO NOT TAKE HIM. His tests are nearly impossible and he demands long hours of studying for this class. He is not that helpful and seems like he doesn't want to help you pass. Don't listen to other people on here, He is IMPOSSIBLE!
I took Hunter for Biomedical Ethics. He is completely different in this class than A&P. He bought us food and was very laid back. He knew his facts and was a great guy. I would suggest taking Biomedical Ethics with him.
Study and read the chapters, use the online book companion and you'll do fine. He is a good teacher and very knowledgeable.
dr.hunter is one of the best prof. i had during my time at ccm. i took A&P 2 with him and he expects you to know as much as he does but it benefits you in the end. i highly suggest you take him. i studied my butt off and got a C with him but i still retain all the information. understand his notes and the book your golden.
Great in teaching. Analogy is awesome
Not an easy prof but thorough, knowledgable and fair. Obviously enjoys his work but takes it seriously and it shows. Certainly high value for county college dollar. Teaches from preassembled notes, attendance is mandatory. You will benefit. Good at interacting with class and clear. Second half material much more complex. Study and don't panic.
Test are very HARD!!! DO NOT TAKE HIM, unless you want to fail.
he is an awesome teacher. all of his tests come from his lecture notes, so everything you need to know is narrowed down and easy to understand.
Prof. Hunter teaches as if you already have some understanding of A&P. You have to make sure you keep up with him. Overall, he's amazing. He gives analogies that make everything understandable and he's the only prof with his own book! Make sure you study though!! If you don't understand something, GO GET HELP or you won't pass but he's still great.
Taking A&P I with Dr. Hunter was a very stressful experience for me. I don't feel that he is very clear about what he wants you to know for his exams. I tried multiple times to get more direction from him by visiting his office hours but I often left more confused than before. I would not recommend his class.
He's very clear with what he says very easy to understand... THERES ONLY 2 TESTS IN LECTURE! They're super hard but if u understand what you have learned you should do ok. Let's just say 34 people failed our first test so good luck to you.
He kinda is not a good teacher. Class is hard. His clarity is not really there and rushes thru a lot of material. He knows what he's talking about, but cannot at all make out what he is trying to say. His exams are not really the same as what we are taught in lecture. You're better off studyin off a book. You gotta know your own stuff. Trust me.
Very good teacher and very helpful. I saw people griping in class, but it's hard material - study what he gives you & you'll do fine. Take notes and plan on studying. This is not a breeze course so don't blame him because the material is hard!
Prof. Hunter is an amazing teacher. Incredibly knowledgeable. Probably getting a C but it was worth it because I know much more because of his class. I'm going into nursing so this class benefited me and was worth the pain. If you aren't don't take him. Very hard stuff and takes up a lot of time. ONLY 3 TESTS.
I was so intimidated by Dr. Hunter at first because everyone was saying he was this super hard teacher. Now that I took him, I realize those who said he was hard were just the students that are either to lazy to do any of the reading or studying or they have no interest in the course. Do what your supposed to do and you'll be fine! He is awesome!
Awesome instructor. He is very willing to work with anyone who has questions. Straight forward and to the point. Follow his notes and add your own and you will be fine.
I did not like this teacher whatsoever. No matter how hard i studied, i just would not do good on the tests. His tests have things on it that he did not teach us... horrible. i would not reccommend taking him again, or at all. horrible. DO NOT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO DO POORLY IN CLASS.
Very knowledgeable teacher but very tough on tests There is also no way to help your grade if you fall behind. Im hanging on by a thread with my only hope being my last lab test last lecture tests and the
Such a nice man. He preps you for clinical not just fact regurgitation. Only complaint is your not really clear what you have to know for exams, HOWEVER you have his notes; ask and you shall receive. You dont take Biology because its easy you take it because you love it and if you don't, pick another major. Definitely would rec!
Outstanding professor. There is much to learn in A&P, but Dr. Hunter breaks everything down in a way that is easy to digest. Always willing to answer your questions after class and via email. If you go to every class, pay attention, and keep up with the material, you will be fine.
He is a great prof. Get the notes, and those are what you are tested on. Go to class, record lectures, follow along in the notes, and you will be fine. He's really dedicated to helping his students learn. AP1 is a lot of material, and not easy no matter who teaches it.You have to dedicate major time to study in order to do well in it.
He kinda teaches AP1 like you are already knowledgable on the subject. I am not a fan of this teacher. I think clarity was not there
he is a great teacher he will use multiple ways to help you understand what you don't just make sure u put ur heart in learning and you will do great. retaking him for BIO-102
One of the best professors for Anatomy. He breaks the material down and uses lots of metaphors. His class is comprehensive and difficult, but he keeps the class interesting. He forces you to know the material inside and out in order to survive his class, which is useful if you're going into medicine.
Dr. Hunter is one of the best professors at CCM. Whether you take him for AP or Ethics, you will learn skills needed for a career in the medical field. Ethics class was very laid back and fun! Lots of class discussions on various medical ethical topics. He keeps it very interesting and he has a great sense of humor. Highly recommend!
Great professor. Explanations are very clear, with analogies that help you understand and remember concepts. Super nice guy and always willing to provide any help you need. You really need to have a solid grasp of the material to do well. Spend a little time with the material each day rather than pulling an all nighter before an exam.
Hands down the best Professor I have ever had!!! If you want a challenge and are interested in the subject matter- take him. His standards are high and although he will not hold your hand per se, he is very helpful and really wants his students to succeed. Don't be intimidated, he is actually very personable :) FYI- only about 5 A's each semester.
He is a little bit too fast. I took him for A&P II. Expects everyone to have a background on A&P. He does give time for students before class to ask questions, which is good. You REALLY have to know what you are studying because the exams are mostly applications of what you have learned. Only 7 out of 40 students got an A. Worked hard for an A.
To be honest, I really don't know why people like this guy so much. This is will be the hardest class you ever take. He speaks to you as if you already know the information. He has 2, sometimes 3, exams and they are all over 100 questions with a cumulative final. I know anatomy is hard wherever you go, but you really are better off elsewhere.
What I personally didn't like about Prof. William was that he did not use power points. Imagery is the best way I learn, and all he gave us was a book he made (that students have to pay for) of what he literally says in class. Once in a while he goes on google to search for an image related to the material but it was just such a boring class...
to be honest he is probably a nice guy but for anatomy he expects you to already have your phD i get anatomy takes a lot of time but if you are a slow learner and need more guidence do not take him. he can be rude sometimes when you ask questions and his test are extremly difficult i studied for a whole month before and barley passed .
thinks you have background in bio it rude goes off of his own 30.00 textbook that you have to buy, no quizzes barley 2 test and final and his test are extremely hard. i emailed him and he was extremely rude and put me down. i studied a lot for his class and did not pass.
Excellent lecturer. His tests are hard. They are designed to test your true knowledge and are how the exams are in Nursing school, so if you can't handle these tests weed yourself out now. He has recitation every week, and went over the material, and tons of questions. Take advantage, you'll need it, but in the end you will LEARN!
If you are trying to choose between Hunter and Wulster. Stick with Hunter! Hunter's lecture's are precise and easy to follow. He is also a an amazing lecturer. Wulster is all over the place during lecture and it's hard to follow her during her powerpoint slides. Her handout's are unorganized with spelling and grammer mistakes.
Dr. Hunter is very knowledgeable. He is great at explaining things and is always open to answering questions. I've only taken 1 of his tests so far and I didn't think it was that hard. I'm sure they will get harder but I'm not afraid of the challenge.
Dr. Hunter has made A&P1 so understandable to those who go into the course with knowing nothing. He speaks to his students in a manor that they can understand the information and properly remember it. Also a very big help was having his typed lecture notes from the school store.
Although the class itself is difficult, I found that he made the material interesting
Amazing professor. Made A&P understandable. Always available for extra help and is extremely nice. His lectures are fun and keeps the subject exciting despite how hard it is. Thank you Hunter!
The perfect professor. Encourages everybody to go to recitation, and wants people to succeed. His text-based note packet makes the class possible, and he breaks it down to an understandable level. Getting an A+ is impossible, and the average grade is hardly passing. NO FAULT OF HIS OWN, if this subject was easy, everyone would be a doctor.
Honestly, if you heard anything bad about Dr. Hunter- it was the students fault. Yeah ANP is hard but with Dr. Hunter he prepares you so well ESPECIALLY if you're going into nursing! Took him for ANP1 and 2 lecture and ANP2 lab and I learned more than other kids did from other profs. He's very approachable, willing to help, and makes you think.
Took professor hunter for a&p1. I loved his class! He is super interesting and tries to make all information clinically relevant. His tests are tricky though, and to get a good grade you must really understand the information. Not just spit back. Taking his a&p2 in the fall! Ps. GET AN OLDER TEXTBOOK!!! DONT GO BROKE OVER TWO NEW UPDATES!!
One of the best professors I've ever had. Tough grader- difficult exam questions, but if you STUDY, you'll do okay.
He is a very nice person and professor. However, I didn't like his teaching skills. I think he could make it easier for students as far as making better examples and using the board instead of using just the computer. The test are easy if you study his material and go to class.
He's a nice guy but I'm not sure why everyone is obsessed with his class? I thought his lectures were so boring and his notes were outdated and difficult to comprehend. He did not incorporate current events/issues like pesticides, brain-gut axis and gmo's into his lectures. The only positive thing was that he gave a lot of practice questions.
I changed my major and withdrew from the course towards the end because I didn't want a C on my transcript. However, for the time that I was in the course, he was AMAZING. He compares the various processes to things in real life and really breaks things down to help you understand. However, his tests are INSANELY hard and you NEED to study.
His exam are not hard if you know your stuff. My advice would be to dedicate 1-2 hrs to each lecture and you will be completely fine and will not panic when finals come around. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE.
Do Not take this professor. If you can take someone else. He offers no extra credit, his tests are very confusing and hard. All of his tests are over 100 questions, questions are clinical and hard. You feel like you are already in medical school taking his exam not in community college. He is very tough, want a good grade in A&P don't take him!
Terrible teacher. Please don't take him, if you have a choice. He doesn't give any quizzes and we had a midterm and a final. So if you fail one you're basically done. Some people may like that he only gives out two or possibly three grades but his exams are extremely hard and have very detailed questions. Doesn't care about attendance/participation
One of the most amazing professors I've ever had. His lectures are never boring and he always comes up with a creative analogy to demonstrate the material so it is easy to understand. He makes the class enjoyable and I look forward to his lectures. His tests are challenging but if you study the notes and the study questions you will be fine.
The best professor i ever had. It was a very hard class but i feel very confident going into the medical field. Tough class due to only having 3 tests but i also had him for lab. Gives you everyday life examples and examples of things you will encounter in the medical field.
I walked in the first day expecting it to be godand I didn't even have to sit there for 20 minutes before he told us that there were only 2 exams the whole semester. One in the beginning which covered very little material and the final which is cumulative! Not to mention everyone says his tests are extremely hard and more than 100 questions.
It is a tough course but he makes it easier by condensing the information into a smaller book (you still have to buy this but it means you don't have to buy the textbook), and making the information really clear to understand with lots of analogies and examples. His tests are hard but if you study and pay attention in lecture you should do great.
I took him for Anatomy I and he was very difficult, his tests are very hard, I would study so hard and get Cs, i took a different teacher for Anatomy II and I am getting an A. His tests would go way too in depth for an introductory course and he has section notes, but no study guides, and I never knew what to expect on his tests.
Very smart man and a good guy overall, but he thinks he's teaching a medical school class. He goes way in depth and tries to get you to think critically on concepts that you barely understand. Spends too much time focusing on the small details rather than helping you understand the bigger picture.
I took Dr. Hunter for AP 2 and I could have not been any happier with his class. Yes, the course it tough and Professor Hunter really makes you work hard for it. If you want to be in the health care I really suggest you take him. I learned so much and it prepared me well. This class was a challenge and if I could take Dr. Hunter again I would.
totally regret taking him as a teacher. if science doesn't come very easy to you you will not pass his course. extremely boring lectures and goes off on unnecessary tangents, only offers 2 exams for the ENTIRE class.
Dr. Hunter is a very nice guy because he will always answer questions and he even has a recitation for his A&P classes. I took 1 and 2 with him and his tests are very detail oriented and multiple choice. There are at least 2 tests (finals cumulative) with an option of a third one. Tests are all critical thinking 2 A's and 5 B's overall class hard
Very nice, very knowledgable, excellent teacher. That being said his exams are ridiculous. He asks overly difficult questions that are confusing and almost seem designed to trick you. Buy his little lecture notebook, don't buy the text book.
He is a wonderful and kind man but his tests are extremely difficult. He makes you buy his lecture notes and says textbooks are optional. BUY THE TEXTBOOK! Nothing on his exams can be found in the lecture notes. The tests are brutal. Doesn't help you out if you're falling behind and want to fix your grade. But overall good man. Just hard professor
Attendant class. It is worth it. Use his guide to study. Do the labs.
