kinda hard but really good - very intense - VERY analytic and is all about the logic
journals & 2 questions per class, but you'll never get bored.

one of the best professors at the school; classes are never boring and the emphasis is on learning the material; he might seem intimidating at first(probably because he's intelligant and confidant) but he's very approachable and easygoing outside of class

Far and away the best educator that I have come to know in my career as a student. His lectures situate the course in the broader fabric of philosophy as a whole. Intelligent, insightful, and ENTHUSIASTIC! If you opt out of his course, you MISS out!!!!
Unhelpful in the extreme! More interested in himself than teaching the class, and his main appraisal of philosophy is that it helps on the LSAT. His obsession with teaching logic, on which he spent six seeks, was not only boring but condescending.

very enthusiastic and engaging, but also intimidating. So if you are not that bright don't take him - his class is all about critical thinking, not just about learing the material.
Wow! He is an amazing professor! He is always prepared for class with great energy. Unless you had no sleep the previous night, you will not fall asleep in his class.
Great professor-- smart, witty, energetic. Doing the reading is important. Fair grader.
Great teacher. Very funny and very helpful. It's nearly impossible to be bored in class. Assignments can be hard, but he is always there to help.
This guy is extremely hot and easy to talk to outside of class. Interesting lectures and never boring.

an awsome teacher overall. He gives a tremendous amount of work for the higher level classes. Does not focus on reading, but on your ability to take on the issues. Whips you into shape - does not accept bull****.
he is so nice and hot! also his class is very interesting and you will never fall asleep in his class!! his class discussion were always very interesting , i really would recommend him to anyone.
Very Helpful and not that bad to look at.

Alright, so this guy is pretty much the best professor I have had in the last decade. I gave him a good review in all areas, and I hate professors as a generalization. He is witty, thought provoking, yet makes sense of rigourous course material.

Can seem condescending, but he's nice if he sees you're really trying hard and you still need to ask for help. 50% of our grade is keeping a journal about the class. Very different from any other prof I've ever had.
means well but is perhaps going about it the wrong way.i find his attempts to get students to like him unappealing.assigned 2 papers in 2 weeks at the end of the semester+a cumulative final. the workload would be okay if it we werent a month behind+didnt have 4 typed pages of journal entries a week
He is kind of phony in trying to make people like him, as a teacher...a good grade is very dependent on going to see him about papers - he has very specific requirements. Overall, nice, but not helpful with questions in class.
He's brighter then we are, and he lets us know it.
smart and helpful
He knows his stuff, and always encourages students to go talk to him whenever the students have questions. Journals are part of the grade, and you have to submit a question every session. sometimes he always gives you redo your hw (but there aren't a lot of hw) but not on the papers though...
Sharp as a firecracker and thought provoking
Jaworski is extremely knowledgable and pushes his students to the farthest of their potential. He can be arrogrant in your first experiences, but he is truly a great guy and great professor, I almost question his presence at a university like Fordham.
Intelligent but arrogant. Condesending to students.
Jaworski comes off as an **** at first, but by the end of the semester his over-dramatic antics and confrontational teaching style will probably have grown on you. He seems to genuinely want to help students grasp the basic concepts of philosophy, so I can't fault him for that. His class was one that I loved to hate. And his alleged hotness? No.
This guy is kinda hot, too bad he's married with kids. But anyway, he is really helpful and eccentric in his lectures, walks/talks with alot of presence, definitely an alpha male. Take him if it fits your schedule.

Um yes, he is extremely attractive. And an enthusiastic teacher, even when the material is a bit boring.

Amazing professor. Confident in what he says. Big presence. Never boring, even when class material can be boring. Very encouraging and more than willing to help. Definitely one of the best professors I've had during my academic career.
Some students felt he was arrogant, but he was only acting in a way that the person trying to defend their beliefs would act, which is good that a philo. teacher can adapt his arguments to back up what ever morality he is trying to support. Nice enough for a professor. I felt the class was boring and had no interest. A bit repeative.
His lectures were interesting and he was enthusiastic and passionate about what he taught. Hard grader. I did not like his crude jokes and use of profanity. Overall a good experience though.
Jaworski is an intelligent thinker but an unfairly difficult professor. His lectures were often repetitive and the pacing was inappropriate; we had a paper assigned on the last day of class before finals. However, you will probably learn something from his teaching style though some of what is taught will be of questionable relevance and value.
Extremely brilliant and expects a lot from his students. If you put in the work for him, he will put in the work for you. He is always there for you when you need him for office hours. And those who say he is arrogant...well no matter how much you may disagree, he is smarter than you!
I had no interest in philosophy but I found him engaging. He did his best to make things interesting for us, but entertained extensive theoretical debates and allowed the same students to always dominate discussion, which was annoying.
very animated, but very repetitive at times. otherwise, though, he's really straightforward about what he wants you to know and what he looks for in papers. be warned- his examples may get quite disturbing. but it's all amusing just the same.
He's not a very good teacher at all. You can tell he knows so much about his field, but he looks down on all of the students as idiots, which is kind of rude seeing as we were an honors class. He really must get off his pedestal and learn to teach philosophy and not try and mold an army of philosophers.
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. However, you may not like the class if you are afraid of a challenge or unwilling to have your beliefs challenged. My writing improved by leaps and bounds as a result of his class. Extremely helpful. He'll do whatever he can to help you learn the material. Every other class will seem easy after him, but you won't regret it!!
This man is absolutely brilliant. He is encouraging, challenging and engaging. You will learn extremely useful skills for arguing a point if you take this class. I want to minor in philosophy because I loved what I learned in this class so much. Listen to what he says and don't be intimidated! DO NOT miss out on this professor.
Jaworski is a firecracker! He will call you out in class if that's how he feels. Overall, i learned a lot in his class, but it was so analytical that I don't feel I got a true understanding of the basis of philosophy. Anyway, Jaworski is awesome, he was actually my advisor and he took us out to dinner and bought us champagne! Good guy, but crazy.
I'm sitting in his class right now. I genuinely do not enjoy being in the presence of this man at all.
Honestly all the debt i acquired from school is worth it because of his classes. The philosophy is just bonus compared to the analytical skills you learn. I am such a better writer and test taker because of his classes. If you want to be a lawyer than TAKE HIM, you will ace the LSAT's
He is a prick who is not interested in helping the student. He is far more interested in making you think he is smart.
one of the best profs i had at fordham. he spent hours working with me on my writing. it's true he can be intimidating. if you have an ego it won't last long in his class, but he cares alot about his students if they put in the time.
This guy is at the cutting edge of his field. He is extremely smart and can "pretend" to be any kind of philosopher and defend any argument. He forces you to really think and challenge your own ideas. He is a tough grader, but lets you redo your papers. I learned a huge amount in his class. If you're bright and enjoy a challenge take him!
Professor Jaworski is brilliant. Yes, he may come across as arrogant, like he knows everything, but that is because HE ACTUALLY DOES KNOW EVERYTHING! Absolutely one of the best teachers at Fordham. Not an easy A, but he will go out of his way to help you and will change the way you view the world.
awesome prof! totally no nonsense -- teaches you how to argue a point, that alone makes his class worth it... ok, so this brilliant prof is able to prove to you that one of your stupid ideas really is stupid, and you get p****d off and call HIM arrogant? seriously?
best teacher. take this class you will learn something i guarantee it makes you work for your grade but the readings are interesting
the class seems pretty hard at first but once you get a hang of what he is looking for its actually easy to get a good grade. he gives you the actual questions to study for the mid term and final so you know exactly what it will be. memorize the answers and you will be fine.
Avoid him if possible. He didn't grade any of our work--the TAs did it all. He lectures from a powerpoint so you can basically skip every class and self-teach if you want to. Way too much material crammed into one semester and he didn't teach it well at all. Boring, long, and there is a massive workload. I don't know anyone who enjoyed his class.
DON'T TAKE IF YOU ENJOY HAVING A LIFE. Jaworski spends the entire semester finding ways to get his students to affirm everything he writes in his (poorly written) book which is the main textbook of the class. Tests, quizzes, & essays are impossible & I don't mind working hard for something interesting but I honestly learned nothing valuable. ruined
GREAT CLASS, GREAT PROF. Jaworski is demanding, but he lets you redo papers until you get a good grade. Very enthusiastic and dynamic in class. Seems to know every argument known to man. Readings can be hard, but they're interesting, and his book and the powerpoint help explain things.
One of the best classes I've taken -- finally, a prof who doesn't lecture for the lowest common denominator. Jaworski has to be one of the smartest people on the planet. It amazes me how much he knows. Definitely the guy you want if you're looking for challenging classes.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE WORLD! TEACHER YOU SO MANY NEW THINGS. YES IT'S HARD TO GET A GOOD GRADE BUT IF YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT, YOULL DO FINE! LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM
BEST PROF AT FORDHAM! learned SO much in his class. took a lot of time to grade our papers, really cares whether his students learn. nice to look at too.
Reminds me a little of Jean Claude van Dam. Anyways, Jaworski is awesome! Not an easy A, but he's very clear what he expects in the papers (unlike my TA, but that's a different story). His lectures were awesome. I actually looked forward to class. Definitely recommend him. Even the way I read has improved from taking his class.
Took him for Human Nature and Mind, Brain and Self. The man is a genius and an excellent teacher. He wrote the textbook which both courses are based around. He's a hard grader, but if you do exactly what he tells you to, you'll be fine. One of the best philosophy teachers in the school. Take him!
What a professor. Jaworski is brilliant, funny, challenging, and available. One of the strongest professors I've ever had. He expects a lot of his students - but how else would you want it? Use his slides and text, follow his instructions closely, and you'll learn a ton.
He apparently teaches the same thing is every class. Can take his Mind class and other seminars and repeat same argument rehearsals from freshman course. This could be an easy A later. Still that kinda sucks.
One of the best prof's I've had. Very animated lecture, and great writing prep for the rest of my classes. He still remembered my name even though it was 2 years since I was in his class! Definitely take him if you have the chance.
Jaworski is the most challenging/ demanding professor I have ever had in my entire life but at the same time he does absolutely everything he can to make sure you get a good grade. He makes your writing skills a million times better than what they were before his class. He is truly a remarkable professor and really interested in helping students.
Good overall class. There was a midtermfinal, a couple of papers, one oral rehearsal, and 25 journals due at the end of the semester. Jaworski is great. Lectures are interestingclear but can be frustrating if you really dislike philosophy. Be sure to prepare well for the tests and work a lot with the TA because heshe does most of the grading.
Overall this class was challenging but rewarding. For the rehearsals (essays), all you have to do is rephrase his textbook. Don't stray off the topic or include extra content. Do the rewrites because they are easy points. Put in solid study time for the midterm and final, and you should be fine.
This class may be pretty challenging. Make sure you print out the study sheet for the mid-term and final. Go along with his slides and write down the answer so when the real thing comes, you will have all the answers. For the rehearsal, just copy his book. Also do the journals after class so that you have a clear idea of what to write about.
Really clear on expectations, rules, and requirements. If you take his advice, which he gives out often, you will do well in the class.
My fav for the semester. Extremely intelligent, dynamic, and insightful. Many I know weren't into phil but I found it to be very interesting. I was more glad I took the class after the fact. Tough material and grader, but will help you SIGNIFICANTLY if you ask for it (don't be intimidated). Divides labs between him and his TAs. Gives own lectures.
His class will demand the most work. He will improve your writing greatly. But if you want a good grade go to his office repeatedly. He wants you to learn things from him exactly how he wants it and nothing else. He's a good looking dude who knows he is good looking. But he isn't the genius some claim him to be. If you want to be a lawyer take him
He is honestly a great professor. His lectures are long but you have everything on a powerpoint that is posted on black board. He is a really tough grader but gives you 2-3 chances to go from an F to an A. Don't worry when you see an F, its gonna change.
Professor Jaworski writes out clear expectations and you'll do really well if you follow them! If you have questions during class (and aren't just bs-ing around) don't be shy and ask them; they might spark an interesting discussion. The workload is pretty high for this course, but it isn't busy work -- a lot of eye-opening stuff.
While prof. Jaworski is certainly easy on the eyes, his class is NOT EASY. His book is the basis for the class. Lots of interesting info. He puts all of the ppts he uses in class online. His grading criteria are very clear-cut. If you're willing to put in a lot of work, you can get an A. Do the journal entries as you go, don't let them store up.
Very difficult class but it's okay because he makes it easy to pay attention, he is charismatic and excited about philosophy, not to mention really hot.
When emailing him or going to him for help, he made me feel like most questions I asked were pointless, almost to the point of being condescending. Maybe I'm just not a philosophy person, but his explanation by massive powerpoint was not for me.
Very patronizing and difficult to ask for help outside of class. For papers, he's not interested in anything other than having students parrot exactly what he has said in class or written in his book. Despite this, he is still a very exacting grader. Waste of time for people who actually want to learn.
Jaworski is a terrible teacher. Expects the TAs to do all the work in discussion sessions, but they make up their own lessons. Very hard to reach and when you do ask for help its like talking to a brick wall. He just tells you to go back to his book and powerpoints. I would avoid him at all costs if possible
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. IT IS A TRAP.
Grading criteria didn't match what was being taught, and he was very condescending when I asked for clarification outside of class. I love philosophy, and this was the most unpleasant, frustrating course I've taken at fordham.
Professor Jaworski guides philosophy students in establishing a cohesive argument structure, and teaches argument evaluation skills that are the foundation for reading texts and writing essays on any topic in philosophy and beyond. His symbolic logic course demands full commitment to the material, and he is always available for help.
Prof Jaworski is a great professor. He explains everything very well and allows students to ask questions. I didn't do the reading once in for his class and I got an A on everything we did because he explained the material so well. You will definitely learn a lot from his course. He's the one who convinced me to take Philosophy as a minor!
Honestly my favorite prof I had this year. Has very clear expectations for papers but you have to follow instructions *exactly*. Easy to get a good grade once you understand what hes looking for.
he's confrontational to the point of being antagonizing toward students who disagree with him or his textbook. very difficult class.
You don't need to go to class if you read his book or his slides. But, I would recommend not reading his book and just showing up to class to take notes since his slides basically say it all. Do everything JUST the way he wants it (you will get an A). Theres also pop quizzes towards the end of the semester! At least you don't need to participate!
Jaworski gets a bad rep for his somewhat arrogant/condescending attitude, but I loved the guy. He's a brilliant man who demands precision. His class is not easy, but if you put in the work you will be rewarded.
