This is a very down to earth teacher. He encourages students and the class itself is fun. It was snowing one day terribly and i struggled through the snow to make it to his class. Thats how good the class and the instructor is. The sun is not close to him but he is HOT!

He's a great teacher! It's the most relaxing class i've ever taken. In my opinion it's a fair amount of writing but nothing that's difficult to it. If you can take him, cause' your most likely to receive a good mark if you do all your work. Also i've heard you have to attend his class now, i didn't do that when i took his class.

Willie is great he makes it a priority to learn your name and something about you, he has no text book and one test that is super easy. He gives a good amount of writing assignments but if you do them you get full credit ands he gives you ample time take him if you can!

One of the BEST profs at Normandale! If you need any communications, he is the prof you want! His class is an easy A. No textbook, just one small book to read a chapter out of for a project. Tests are easy too if you go to the lectures or read the D2L notes. His lectures are not boring, and he is really upbeat everyday and happy to see you.

I took the speech class with him and he will open your eyes to finding a comfort zone in speeches. I was so scared of speeches before this class and with his humor and understanding of students, he will make your confidence accelerate within weeks! BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!

Loved this guy. You show up for class, you give actual effort (hell even no effort even) and you get an A. I however did "prep" myself for the speeches and got an A every time. I thin he's great and fun but can I say I truly learned anything from him? Not especially. Take him for a fun/easy/relaxing genral ed in between your hard core classes.

I had Willie for Public speaking and he was great. I have always been nervous in front of people and her really helped my with that. He doesn't make class hard so you stress over your speech, he just wants to see you improve and get more confidence.

Absolutely loved this class/professor. The tests are easy if you study, the reflective writings are great, and the group work isn't horrible either. Just a warning, there is one group presentation. However, it is not graded harshly. I would take another class with him.

Dr. J is the kind of professor you want for all your classes: cool, calm, and collected. He's grading is perfectly clear and he'll definitely help you when you need it. I would recommend him as your professor. He is a very easy going teacher. His exams are straight forward. The study guide and the exams are pretty much word for word. His homework isn't hard, when there is homework. This class is a great class to take when you have other classes that are hard and have a lot of homework in them.

Willie is a great teacher. Here is what I got from him: If you are going to take this class, you need to try. He may seem like an easy grader, and he is.. But if you aren't willing to put in the effort, then he won't give you the credit for the class. He is a clear teacher and makes public speaking less scary! I highly recommend him as a teacher.

To this day, Willie is still my favorite college professor. He will call you out during class discussions (no problem, if you pay attention), gives clear study guides, and keeps class interesting. There was never a day he wasn't smiling. He knew everyones name. He inspired me to get a Communications degree!

If you have the chance to take Prof. Johnson, please so so. He is my absolute favorite teacher thus far. He creates a warm and respectful learning environment. His grading and assignments are clear. As long as you do the work and show up for class, you will pass this class. He expects a lot from you and tries to get you to think outside the box.

While I worried a lot going into my speech class, Willie turned out to be a pretty easy grader and an overall good teacher. I started off the worst speaker in the class and finished that way too but through good feedback my speeches did improve some over the semester. If you have to take speech I strongly recommend this guy.

I took interpersonal communication with him and it was amazing. He started class off with music, and took requests too. He made an effort to get to know each student, and included students in lecture to make it more open discussion than lecture. His tests were easy, and he was always clear about what he was expecting which was never unreasonable.

No tests in intercultural communications. So many reflective papers, but his outlines are very clear on his requirements. If you have a thought, any thought, and do your homework on time, you'll get 100% in the class. Willie is hilarious, and makes coming to class fun.

Easy to talk to and joke around with! Assignments are mainly just writing some self-reflection and tests are exactly what he's put on the study guide. The only downside is how much writing you have to do for the tests! One group presentation towards the end of the semester, but he's clear on what he's expecting and laid back. Fun and easy A.

Best Freaking Teacher ever!! Class was pretty easy, just make sure you do your ref writings. The tests were easy( go through the presentation notes). Anyways Willie is an amazing person overall and I can't imagine a more genuine human being.

You'll have to read a novel and write quite a bit, but he's a real generous grader. The point of this class isn't to get a grade, though; it's to learn about yourself. Very enjoyable course. Willie sets clear and easy goals for the semester. If you spend even an hour studying for exams and fulfill the grading requirements for assignments, there's no reason you shouldn't earn an A.

I really liked Willie. The class was easy and he does take attendance every day. I got 100% in his class. There are reflection worksheets that are easy, exams that are done with memorization and then there is an easy group project.

Willie had clear grading for class, and put everyone at ease. I had an 8am with him and about 10 other students. Most fun class I ever took! His class made me enjoy coming in, even at 8am. He has a lot of background, experience, and genuine passion for his students. His ability to make non-traditional and normal students at ease is unparalleled.

This class is mostly about self-reflection. If you can say something honest about yourself, you'll do well. A good chunk of your grade comes from attendance and in-class assignments, so show up. The lectures are delightful, so show up even if you don't care about your final grade. Textbook contents were only relevant for the final project.

Willie is absolutely amazing. I had a very rough semester in my personal life, and he always made sure to check in with me every Monday at the start of class. Very easy to talk to, entertaining lectures, tests are writing heavy, but easy. The group presentation really wasn't that bad. Don't be shy; participate in class discussions!

Professor Johnson is by far the best professor I've had! He truly cares about all of his students and works hard to make sure you are supported. In this class, there were no quizzes, no tests, and only a few worksheet assignments! There is a final analysis paper but it's no big deal at all. You wont regret taking this class with Willie!

Favorite professor at Normandale. Super helpful and gives great feedback. The class went well and the lectures were short and sweet. Theres a reflection for each lecture - 7 total. He grades based on improvement rather than how bad you do; not nitpicky either! The final was an Speech Analysis (easy) and 4-5 speeches total (5 min each).
