He knows he is tuff and doesn't seem to care to help us. Advice don't try to take notes just take your book and highlight what the slides are saying (he quotes the book. )

Professor Johnson is easily the hardest professor I've ever had mainly because he doesn't get the material across very well when he just reads from the slides. He is also is very monotone so it is hard to pay attention during class and easy to fall asleep. Lastly his test are the hardest tests ever no matter how much you study.

Ive never hated a class more than this one. STAYYYYY AWAYYY!!!! Everyone I know that is taking this class has a C or below. I study for 7 hours for 1 exam and still got a 50 percent on the exam. If I could give this teacher all zeros I would. He doesn't even help when you ask him question, hes honestly rude and somewhat cocky. HATE HIM, THANKS BYE.

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. Bio typically comes very easy to me, however, this teacher makes it impossible to pass the class. The lectures have nothing to do with what is actually on the exams. I study a whole week for an exam and 12 hour the day before. I thought i understood the material but got a 60 on the exam. Johnson was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. His tests go so much more in depth than what you learn in class and what's in the book. He reads off PowerPoint slides yet never explains anything he reads. His tests do not make any sense and his monotone voice makes his lectures painful to be in. He does not care about his students at all.

He is the worst teacher, avoid him at all cost. I took BIO181 with him and he would teach us stuff that you don't even learn until BIO202. He gets off track all the time in his lectures. I am taking an 8am MWF bio class to avoid having him as a teacher again. Only thing that saved me was the book and SI sessions

I'm currently in his class as I'm typing this he's awful. I asked what my grade is and he kept saying well if you fail the tests you fail the class and refused to give me a straight answer He goes WAY to fast on the slides so it's impossible to take notes and if you ask to slow down he won't He's very monotone and the tests are very hard stay away

Literally copies and paste sentences from the book. I've read through the book as well as the power points he sent, everything matched up word for word. Does not give effort into teaching or making the test. Does not go into depth with teaching INTRO to bio, but ask harder questions pulled straight out of Quizlet. Class average is usually a 60

Probably the worst teacher at NAU. The guy has his doctorate but can't teach a class to save his life. The exams are nothing like the material he taught, and everything he teaches comes straight from the book with no further explanation. It's like he expects you to already know everything prior. Save yourself & GPA by avoiding him. Awful teacher.

By far one of the worst professors, if you can switch classes I would definitely encourage it. If you get stuck in his class do not take notes during the lectures just try and absorb everything he says and go through the power points at home. The tests are really in depth so go to the SI sessions and read over the review chapters in the book.

Unless you have a lot of experience with biology, I do not recommend him for the course. He is very monotone and just reads notes off of a PowerPoint which are online. Do not worry to much on in class notes and take in what he says. Tests are very difficult and require a lot of studying. Stay on top of the smaller assignments, they count A LOT.

Reads lectures word for word from a power point and those lectures are completely ridiculous to try to understand. Nothing is in any order that would make sense. If you want to understand biology or maybe pass the class if you're lucky, do not have him as a professor

This teacher only has 50/400 students show up to class on a regular bases. He is also rude to the students that do consistently show up. He does not like to work with students. He reads straight off the powerpoints and you learn more from all the learnsmarts he makes you do. The only reason I go to class is to make sure I don't miss important info.

BIO201 Johnson is by far the worst teacher to take for this course. His lectures consist of him reading the power points word for word for an hour and a half & never explains any material. Class is not worth your time, you will bomb the test either way. Try to avoid having Johnson as your teacher for this, you will not get your desired grade at all

Honestly, his lectures are the most boring most unhelpful lectures I have ever sat throught. He never tells you what's going to be on the tests he just expects you to know everything in the chapters. Please avoid him at all costs.

took 201 with Jonhson, it was an easy class because he taught to the test. Knowing this, I also took 202 with him and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. 30/200 kids come to class because his lectures are pointless and boring, tests are extremely hard and after his SI quit after our first test, he didnt hire a new one. HE IS HORRIBLE

This is the WORST experience Ive ever had with a prof in my entire life. Yes he may know what he talking about, but that does not mean you should be a teacher! His SI quit because he was treated like garbage, good luck sitting through one of his lectures and retaining ANYTHING, you will fail the test unless thats the only class you have.

Would NEVER recommend to anybody. I am currently failing his class and I study for everything. Don't even bother to study days before the test, chances are, what you learned probably isn't even on it. Not nice at all and does not care for students whatsoever.

No point showing up to his lectures. Not only can he not teach, but he reads his slides verbatim with no explanations for them. He posts them online anyways, so you're better off with reading them on your free time in conjunction with the book chapters, because the book is where you'll actually be learning. Also, his test are extremely difficult.

Johnson puts materials not covered in class on the exams and treats students with no respect. His class is also heavily based on exams, 400/500 of the courses points are solely on cumulative exams. I would suggest avoiding him at all costs, he is also thinking of making exams the only points for the course next semster, so good luck if you have him

If you have any other option, make sure he is your last for any class. He is extremely unorganized and literally has no idea what he is doing. He always starts off class with "I am going to try and make this fun and not as lecture based". Yeah, right.

This teacher has no compassion and will belittle you if you ask a question that he thinks is a "dumb question". He doesn't understand math since he decided to drop the lowest quizzes and that should make your grade go up but, somehow my grade dropped 4%. He couldn't give me an answer how this happened and wouldn't round my 79.5% to an 80%.

Dr Johnson is the worst professor I've had. During an exam he'll ask you to peel the stickers off your laptop because you're trying to cheat. He rarely inputs grades, and his lectures are so boring and last way to long.

Where to begin, quite possibly the most unprofessional/ unhelpful/ non understanding professor I have encountered as an undergraduate student. You could send him a professional email asking an important question and he will reply with a one word "No -sent from iphone". Amazing how they pay him to do this. You can also hear him snacking in videos?

I had Johnson during the pandemic as an online pathology course. I was insanely sick, couldnt breathe, due to Corona virus symptoms and we had an exam due, so I asked for an extension. He replied with is there anyway you can take it, I dont want to stop by my office and change your due date. His powerpoints suck, so buy the textbook to do well.

This professor gives lectures where he reads off the powerpoint slides quickly (way too quickly to take notes) and doesn't give much effort into explaining any concepts. His powerpoints were made by another professor and he just reads them aloud in class. It also seems like he doesn't every look at the slides until he is teaching them in class.

This is the only class I have dropped in my entire college career. Lectures are not engaging and virtually pointless when it came to exams. I had to miss a lecture because of a personal trauma I experienced, where my life was endangered, while working an on campus job. He responded to my email about this situation with rules for how to email him.

Only knows how to read off of the slides that weren't even made by him. The slides presented in class can be very confusing and aren't organized the best either. Anatomy is my favorite subject. This professor made me question that. Lectures are monotonous & irrelevant, just ignore it, take notes on the textbook & go to SI. I'm not sure he even likes the subject he teaches. No attendance but frequent pop quizzes so just show up & read the textbook. you'll need the points, exams determine your entire grade.

I took Bio 201 twice because of him and was unable to get another professor. His lectures are insanely vague and hard to keep up with. He expects you to come in already knowing the material and when you come to him for help or with questions, he berates you and tells you that you need to try harder. Take another Professor if possible.

Lectures are hard to follow, information is convoluted and he mumbles like crazy. Will call on people to answer questions like its high school despite being a 200 person lecture. Absolutely 0 tolerance for missing class. Will berate you if you ask for help or try to talk to him in any sort of way. Made my semester awful.

He does not help with grades whatsoever, he is a really tough grader. He mumbles a lot and doesn't usually go over what will actually be on the tests. The class is already really test heavy and he does not work with you on it at all. He will usually go over a power point the entire class with the occasional picking out people to answer questions.
