great teacher, easy to sit through, funny
My experience was that he uses students as lab rats in order to further his own dubious career. Personal opinion: LOSER!
You will have to do your work to get the grade you desire. This professor is extremely helpful. Is incredibly bright and had the best stories ever. He really wants to see you succeed. You need to attend class and participate. Well worth taking his class.
way cool professor. He lets you rewrite all of your assignments for better grades and he dosen't give any tests. If you don't take his class you must be crazy
just wanted to "high". best teacher ever...
Lalicker is the best professor, yo! No tests, just keep up with the reading and write all your papers and he helps you to really improve your writing. I think he's funny, he's really great.
Very cool man. He is by far one of the most chill people I've ever met. His grading policy is great, the work can be challenging but you can rewrite everything in that class and get a better grade later on. Awesome teacher overall!
He is just awesome. If you are having a hard time writing a paper, go see him he is very helpful and he has great ideas but you have to keep up on the readings which are not too bad.
Very personable man, extremely understanding. Lets you redo any paper for a higher grade. Your a fool if you don't take him!
Dr. L is awesome. He was so helpful and when i missed 3 classes in a row he allowed me 2 weeks to make up anything i missed. He cares a lot about his students and although he goes on tangents quite frequently, he still gets everything across very well.
Dr. Lalicker is an excellent professor. He really cares about his students and goes out of his way to motivate them and help improve their writing. There should be more teachers like him.
lals is awesome. he really encourages his students & allows us to rewrite papers for better grades. gets off topic really easily, but somehow ties his tangents to the class, in an unusual way. take him! i plan on taking him again. on sabatical spring 04.
Bill Lalicker is AWESOME! this class is easy and he is always so enthusiastic which makes the class really fun, you can tell he loves what he does and it shows in his teachings, he always tries to get everyone involved..GREAT PROFESSOR, i love u bill!
This teacher is a great guy. He needs to lay off the caffine but he is still great!
Does a great job
He is always there for his students.
Who would have thought Environmental Writing with a writing emphasis would be one of my favorite classes!?!? Dr. L still allows for individuality and personal ideas in our writing despite the seemingly uninteresting topics. It really was the best class I had this semester(fall '04)
Probably cares more about his job then an other WCU professor. Great spirit and always willing to help. Very lenient and lets you redo papers. Suggest u take Dr. L
You can tell this guy gets an erection with his job. That's the kind of prof I like! He has crazy energy! If you actually try to improve your essays, you'll get an A. If you are a slacker like I was, and just do one draft and not come to class. You'll get a C.
Lalicker is an exceptionally good professor. He's enthusiastic about his work, and he likes to see everyone do well. Lots of chances to revise your work. You'll learn tons about rhetoric and effective writing. Hes extremely smart and helpful. Great prof, TAKE THIS CLASS!!
This class was great! i loved it..you can tell he really loves to teach. his classes are really interesting and he is very helpful. TAKE THIS CLASS! YOU WILL LOVE HIM!
Lalicker is a smart guy, he's easy, and he was born to be a professor. Also, he's done just about everything possible in his lifetime. He makes himself out to be a tall tail that could dominate Chuck Norris 10 times. Hilarious. Brilliant.
This guy is great (which makes me wonder what he is doing at West Chester). This guy loves the material he is teaching more than any professor I have ever seen. In addition, Lalicker is very intelligent and has experienced a lot in his lifetime. Great class, great guy. I hope we cross paths again. Take him if you can.
Very helpful and understanding. He's what a English professor is supposed to be. Very passionate about his job and wants you to succeed as much as possible. Do the work, ask questions, and show up in his office hours and this will make a big difference in your grade. Good luck!
Solid Professor. Helped me a ton and now I plan on getting help from him on my business plan in the future. Take him if you get the chance.
Lalicker is a gem! Having him as my first exposure to a college english professor was amazing. He is laid-back, and tells awesome stories yet always keeps things on track by connecting everything that is brought up in discussion to the central theme(s) of the class. Participation is crucial, so read! P.S. Learn some Chinese... he will love you!
Great professor! The kind of professor you expect to have when you go off to college. He's very intelligent and passionate about what he does. He's very kind and has a respect for the students. He treats his students as equals and values everyones opinions. Very helpful and even told my class that we can always come for help in the future.

he's a nice guy, real boring class tho. alot of class discussion and a pretty big project/presentation at the end of the semester. other than that, he lets you revise all of your papers for a better grade. would stil take him again
Great professor. He is very fair. ALOT of class discussions. very helpful. lets you revise papers to get better grade. alot of textbook reading assignments - i didnt read one page and got an A. he is very fair, understands if you need extentions on papers. would take again.
This guy is great. He's fun and makes writing fun. His writing workshops are so great and I enjoyed the class so much. He'll let you redo your papers give you a better grade.
He's a good teacher...very helpful. I must admit that his class is boring and he is a little weird
For an accelerated course, my only regret is that the course was not longer in duration. Crazy I know but the readings needed more time to consider. Prof L was engaged, energized and helpful - in a thoughtful way. I highly recommend his teaching style and class.
He is THE BEST. Class was extremely interesting and I thought a lot about things I would have otherwised never thought about. He's super helpful and nice. Some of the assignments are hard but he does not grade harshly if you make a sound effort. Don't leave WC w/o taking him!
cool dude. easy class that gets you thinking about many different things. very helpful. lot of take home quizzes that are easy if you do the readings or pay attention in class. hes a very funny intelligent prof and this is a must take class if you need it. just do the work and you'll get an A or B
He's an extremely good teacher: sensitive to student needs and fair. I looked forward to the class every day. The tests and quizzes were tough and all were essay-based, but most were take-home. I plan to take his classes again.
Fairly simple class. he didn't really give any tests/quizzes. The class is boring though, especially at 8am. He is fairly sensitive to the students
Despite being extraordinarily busy, he is always willing to make time for conversation with students. By far one of the best professors I've had and one who easily incites my interest and enthusiasm in coursework.
Even though I had his class at 8am MWF, there was no way I was going to fall asleep in his class. All the ideas and everything he taught was so interesting. He made class fun and was able to get us students to push ourselves harder and think beyond the norm. He was a cool laid back guy so if you ever have the chance..TAKE HIS CLASS!
Fairly easy teacher. Graded SOMEWHAT hard on papers but only because it seemed like if you didn't write what He may like then you lost points. Didn't give a max # of pgs for what had to be written. Class was usually VERY boring.
Dr. Lalicker is an interesting man. He really knows his content area but at the same time, he goes off on rants that don't make sense. He also doesn't check his email or reply very often. It's also difficult to find out your current grade because it can take him a month to grade the papers. Overall, he's a nice guy but too much for 8am MWF.
Great Professor! very entertaining. total of 4 essays that can all be rewritten for a better grade. reviews essays and tells you how to improve them. Recommended
Textbook was useless, but he was very fun and engaging. Explains concepts in a way everyone can understand. Brings in lots of worldly knowledge. Not hard, and is very willing to help, in addition to providing tons of useful feedback on papers. Was definitely a wise choice for this class.
I suggest that no one take this class at 8 am. It's painfully boring and he is really strict with attendance and being on time. Class felt pointless 95% of the time.
One of the best professors I have had at West Chester. He really has a lot of life experience and cares about how the class is performing and learning. He may get off topic at some points, but it is always a good time. He is very cheerful and ready to help despite his insanely busy schedule. An enjoyable summer course overall.
Prof. Lalicker is by far the best teacher to have at 8am. Although he is quite loud, he keeps you awake and is fun and goofy while doing it. He often gets off topic but somehow ties everything into writing. Really great professor, I recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Lalicker is a great professor. He allows you to miss three classes without penalty. There are five main essays to be written and he allows you to submit all for a better grade if you make changes.
He is very lively especially in the morning. some consider this good some bad. he doesn't grade on a high scale so every point counts. he is willing to help if you don't understand. you have to go to class for attendance. overall it was pretty easy and he is helpful. so worth taking him since its mandatory
This was the first professor that did not make me feel stupid. He keeps in mind that not every student is outgoing and doesn't grade based on participation, rather how much effort you put into your work. If you enjoy being heard, treated as an equal, writing fairly easy essays, and being a part of a welcoming atmosphere then take his classes.
Dr. Lalicker was hands down the best wrinting enlgish teach I have ever had. He is a very firm believer in revision so you can hand your paper in multiple times to receive a better grade. He truly wants to help you become a better writer. Overall he is a really great human being and if you do your work and ask questions you will do great.
I took Lalicker for research writing and he is absolutely brilliant but never on topic. He spent maybe 2 days on writing and the rest on the book we had to read for class. I have a wikihow page open on writing a long paper 'cause I wasn't told how to write a paper. He's smart, compassionate, and helpful but don't expect to stay on topic.
Dr. Lalicker is a great professor, very interesting. He made a 3 hour class bearable. He's very open to everyone's ideas and opinions; he's happy for you to disagree with his point of view, as long as you have a decent argument! He's not a really hard grader, just make sure you listen to his feedback. He will almost always let you revise papers.
very boring and talks a lot. barley learned anything. only 3 papers. easy A but you will be bored out of your mind. stay on top of what is due and you will do well. no homework or quizzes
A teacher that actually cares about his students. He wants you to learn and ask questions. No homework or quizzes, I do not agree with any posts saying he is boring. I am taking a 5 week summer course, and although it is dry material, he finds a way to keep the students engaged. Look no further for an ENG teacher. He is the man.
Lalicker is hilarious, throughout his class he'll get off track and will go into ridiculous stories. Most times when there was nothing to do he would open the floor to everyone with any discussions. He likes to see how we see the world and how we picture things differently. There are some pop up test so make sure you pay attention.
He was a great professor, it was a good way to start off your morning because he was very talkative.
Professor Lalicker is very passionate about teaching and he truly care about his students. This is a business writing course, focusing on written contexts in professional life. He encourage us to use real-life situation and interpret to the writing assignments. There is optional revision for writing assignments to improve grade.
This is one of those professors that sincerely cares about his job and his students. Super enthusiastic and very friendly. Course does include a service-learning aspect. Allowed for revisions on papers. EXTREMELY willing to go out of his way to help you out. Just a really great guy.
Class is very discussion-oriented, truly cares about students.
Not enough words to say about this professor. One of my favorites. Lets you revise papers and gives good feedback. Hoping to take him again next semester.
SUPER friendly guy. Easy-ish class. Stay on top of due dates and you will get an easy A. No tests or homework. Would take his class again.
Really well spoken and clear, really wants students to succeed. Down to earth and reasonable. Classes are almost all discussion based, rarely any homework other than reading. Lets you get notes from someone else in class to erase an absence.
This class consists of 7 quizzes and 1 final. Literally all you have to do is read the assigned readings, show up to class, and you'll get an A. He posts questions with answers for quizzes on D2L. He even made some of them take home and open book. The final is made up of previous quiz questions. However, lectures can be REALLY boring!
Mr. Lalicker is a great teacher! He made class interesting . There were 100 students in the class so that made the class better. 7 quizzes and 1 final which your grade is based off of all of these . Good thing is he post every question on D2L wit the answers and it's your job to study them. Would take again
Easy teacher, never takes attendance so easy to skip. Lectures are extremely boring but he posts all the questions and answers on D2L.
Lalicker is the best professor for a Gen Ed course because he realizes that you have more classes than just his. All quizzes for the class have study guides with the same questions online, and he prepares you really well. definitely a professor who cares about student feedback and wants us to succeed. He gave many extra credit opportunities.
My fave prof by far!! Do the reading and have something to say in class, and you're guaranteed to do well. He can tell if you've put thought into your essays and he's super helpful if you need any help. He'll also give you extensions if you need them. His lectures are so interesting and I would 100% take him again if I could!!
I had Pop Culture with him and he was the best. You need to buy the textbook but its small and pretty inexpensive. You use it a lot but the tests are pretty easy. If you show up to class you will know what the test will be on and do fine, but attendance is not really mandatory.
Great professor, explained everything thoroughly. The class was mainly discussion based, so if you show up and listen you will probably get an A. Their were a lot of quizzes, but they were not hard. He went over sample questions before each quiz and put them on d2L. Would definitely take again
pretty cool teacher, willing to do what it takes for students to learn the material. However his grading system could use work. 6 Tests and a final that are not a lot of questions, so if you get one wrong it affects your grade a substantial amount. No homework and doesn't take attendance
I like him and I think he is helpful and a good teacher. His class is extremely helpful with resumes and letters of applications. His grading system is out of 100 points so if you do bad on one thing it could really mess you up. You won't get out early. A memo, resume, letter of application, and a long report with one midterm and one final.
I had to take this course to fulfill one of my requirements and quite honestly, I dreaded having to go to class sometimes. Hes an awesome person, but goes on rants that often made me late for my next class. The class was easy, but you do have to be there and study for the quizzes. Extra credit opportunities, mainly for people who don't work.
One of the most intelligent professors I've ever had, can go on tangents sometimes about nothing to do with the class, but that was never a problem. He is a fairly easy grader, but if you do bad on something he will give you the opportunity to make up for it, usually by doing some sort of corrections.
Loved Bill's course! I wish I could take him again next year! He gives great feedback and he is always willing to give his time to benefit his students. The assignments aren't too challenging, a basic college writing course. Bill always gives the option for students to revise their papers for a chance to recieve full credit.
An amazing professor! He genuinely cares about his students and you can tell. He cares about what you take away from his class, and actually wants you to become a better writer. He also lets you revise every piece allowing you to grow as a writer, and improve your grade. Would highly recommend taking any class with him. He also brings his dog!
Lalicker is great. I took his class my first semester at WCU and you can tell he truly cares about his students. He really works with you to get you the best grade possible, and gives the class opportunities to actually make their own questions for tests. I've come to him with problems and he's been more than willing to step up and help.
I had Dr. Lalicker my first semester at WCU, and he was great! I wish I could have him as my professor every year. He gives you great feedback on your essays and gives you the opportunity to revise them and get full credit. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. If you get the opportunity, definitely take his class.
Bill is super nice and the most open-minded old dude I've ever met. Always engaging and you'll have even more fun if you participate. Really comfortable class environment and the only grades are some quizzes, participation, and a powerpoint. Book is cheap and simple. It's a genuine shame that class was only 50 minutes a day/2-3 days and online.
I would definitely take his class again. His class was the only one I enjoyed attending . It was a bit challenging but very rewarding. He is kind and very helpful with revising papers.
Love this professor, had WRT120 for a winter session, and he made writing go from a chore to a real enjoyment. Very good audio feedback on all essays. Always responded to emails, and incredibly helpful.
Dr. Lalicker cares a lot for his students. This course was graded almost entirely on 4 papers. The deadline was extended on each one because he wants students to actually take time to produce good work. He was also fair on grading, taking off just one or two points for multiple mistakes.
Respectable guy. Dont join this class, however, if you need to improve your writing. Learned nothing and left with the same skills I entered with. Bad writer?Bad grade. Why are we going over what MLA and APA formatting is over multiple days?Graded on FEW assignments. 6-7/10 picky grader, but multiple extra credit opp that can bring letter grade up
Really passionate and caring
learned nothing.
WRH310 is an incredibly interesting class. If the environment and pop culture are your things i definitely recommend. Lalicker was also very cognizant of when, as a straight, cis, white male it was and was not his turn to speak on as issue. Very compassionate, very caring, overall my favorite professor I've ever had.
Super friendly and helpful professor: really wants to see his students succeed. He will always help you or give you an extension, you just need to ask. His priority is helping you become a good writer and develop skills for you future, not just turning in assignments.
Makes you read a book which really doesn't have to do with the class, but will make you discuss in groups every class. Then makes you write a 5 page paper, a 14 page paper, and that paper is not even your final. I do not feel I gained anything from reading the book, the only I learned from this class was maybe better understanding MLA format.
Won't stop yapping
He is pretty chill that's about it.
He talks the whole class period, so be prepared to be bored out of your mind. Small amounts of reading and 3-4 papers, with the final paper being 15-18 pages. Would not retake this class for an easy grade, but it is a miserable 50 minutes 3 times a week with mandatory attendance.
One of the best. Makes assignments manageable & always willing to give extensions. Lenient with late work. The reading isn't that bad (one book & textbook sections). Unbiased grader, clear rubrics & grading. Follow the rubrics and participate in class & it's an easy A.
