This was a great class and he was the best professor. It was SO easy.

He is very nice and helpful and slightly sarcastic. I really enjoyed his class.

He's a bit sarcastic, but knowledgable. He challenges his students to communicate effectively and clearly. Don't speak up unless you can back it up!

Comes off very rough on first day. Very sarcastic gives homework but does not collect, he goes over it in class. Grades harder on papers so you will do good on final. Otherwise easy class and helpful professor if he knows you do the work nd amake the eff

Great professor. I've taken him for both comp I and II. He's taught english since the 80's, and has a lot of knowledge on the subject. Very easy course, although his in class essays can be a bit more challenging. You will also get out of class early almost every night! Passed with A's each time. A must take professor!

Just show him that your trying and you'll pass. EASY CLASS!! I GOT AN "A" for comp 2. Show up to class, turn off ur phones, and dont be late, and show him your trying and you'll pass. NOT A DEMANDING CLASS AT ALL. Research paper grading is easy. DONT COME OFF AS A SLACKER OR HE'LL HATE YOU and you'll see the reflection of that on ur grade!

Great guy! He lets you redo 1 paper and give you back the research paper to fix some things that he marked. Participate in class to understand the reading, every reading you did a paper. A lot of comparing two books and a lot of critical thinking. He goes over every part you need to put in the essay.

GREAT TEACHER! Very VERY VERY easy class! Let's you redo papers. If you miss classes, you won't be lost at all. Not much work to this class at all! Very clear in what he expects in a paper. The harder paper we had to do was the final, but he grades the paper and then lets you correct it! Awesome teacher! I totally would recommend anyone to him!

Comp I was a BREEZE. Mr Luse is hilarious and totally easy! just turn in your papers/have them stapled. very easy grader. the papers are all easy essays on life experiences. Love Mr Luse...am def. taking him for Comp II. Easy A! So leniant! and you always get out early from his "3" hr classes! ahh I love him!

Not sure why this prof. is getting any negative remarks. I took his class for comp 1(got an A) and am now in his comp 2 class. I wouldn't say he's too easy, but it is simple enough if you have a brain in your head. Def. recommend.

Professor Luse is a awsome teacher; Hes assignments are easy, just make sure your there for the in-class essays. He lets out the 3hr class early...awesome.....and hes a funny guy. Just dont get on his bad side or he will call you out.

2nd time around taking englis. he is really hard to read, but he really knows english. this class is not a lot of reading passages and Q/A. theirs mostly essays to write, and of you write it early he'll help you edit it into an A essay.

Prof Luse was really nice, helpful, and funny. I really enjoyed his class. He may come off strict on the first day but he is really just softie! He usually lets class out early. You do need to purchase the penguin book.

I took his class back in 2004, it was my first college level course, I was only 16 and I remember Professor Luse to this day. He scared me senseless on the first class, but ended up being the most helpful person I've come in contact with at Valencia. Take as many classes of him as you can.

Mr Luse is awesome. He comes off as really strict on the first day, but he is one of the most helpful professors I have had. He really cares that you learn and understand and will go over something as often as it takes. But don't think that because his class is easy you can take advantage of him, he will definitely call you out on it!

He is awesome! I really enjoyed taking this class and signed up for ENC 1102 as well! He is extremely helpful and we don't write too much at all in this class, it's mostly all discussions. Our main paper is a Research paper which he gives us like 2 months in advance.He also gives us a chance to rewrite the paper after he grades it the first time.

Defiantly learned a lot from this professor. He actually bothers to teach us grammar and I can say im pretty competent in that area now because of him. Assigns a few take home essays, always grammar and spell check them. Lots of interesting class discussions and lets you out early a lot. He is very clear with everything he says.

He is extremely nice and not much homework. he assigns it and then goes over each problem in class so if u didnt do your good and he doesnt collect it. you write about 5 papers. they are super easy and you he lets you rewrite 2 of them to raise your grade. I would definitely recommend. He also has a dry sense of humor.

OMG HE'S SO AWESOME! He seems harsh at first but he's acutally a super sweet guy and HILARIOUS. He helps you out BIG TIME when it comes to grades. You can re-write all your papers, of which we only have about 4. The research paper is the biggest paper and you can re-write it a 100 times. Definately talking next semester.

This was the easiest english class I've ever taken. Only one big paper in the whole class which is the research paper and you have alot of time to do it. Also you can rewrite it several times. We never took a test, and most classes we would just sit and talk. And we always left at least 15Min early! Great Class!!!!

Mr. Luse is a great teacher! If your not the best in english ... TAKE HIM!! ... he will work with you and really wants to see you do your best... no test and just a few papers ... really easy !!!

He is my fave. professor of all time. He is very sarcastic and if you are an idiot this is not the class for you. I adore this teacher and his class I wish I could take all my classes from him.

Mr.Luse was a helpful teacher. He gives you plenty of time to do your papers ahead of time and before the due date you can show them to him for review. He will correct your paper so by the time you turn it in, its a B or higher. Take him he's cool.

Luse is awsome. He really cares and gives feedback so to improve your paper. He offers extra credit. I got an A.He tells you exactly what he wants in a paper so there is no reason to get it wrong.

ill admit at first he is intimidating but just know its actually sarcasm and its ok to laugh! He is a very sweet and open minded person if you talk to him and dont disrupt his class. He lets you rewrite papers so if you follow his directions youll be sure to pass. Ill be taking him again for eng2.

He is very tense the first couple of classes, then he relaxes A LOT! Very little homework, tests, or papers for this class. He works with you to make sure you pass the class by giving you several chances to redo your work. He does't use the books much, but does make sure you get the basics to pass. He likes to tell stories a lot!!

He's a fun teacher. The first day I thought he was going to be tough but he's actually pretty lenient. If you turn in the drafts in time he'll grade them and then give you the chance to do them again. Overall, you should take him!

He was awesome! I took him for comp 2 and he really made literature interesting to me. He introduced me to a new way of looking at stories and writing. He gives you plenty of opportunities to do well. Once you turn something in, you can resubmit it for a better grade after he goes over it with you. If you can, take him!

I took Prof. Luse for Comp 1 and now Comp 2. He gives you opportunities to rewrite papers and provides you with extra credit papers too. He gives plenty of time to write the research paper. Take him!

Very dry, but good sense of humor. Very clear in direction. Lenient on attendance, but requires you be there.

I took him for English 2. Has a harsh sense of humor, but don't be afraid to pot back at him if he gets to snappy. Simple class, everyone pretty much gets a b or a c. If you rewrite any of the papers hell bump the grade up. Just make sure you write the papers. The only way to fail this class is to not do the essays

Professor Luse is awesome! His sense of humor may take some getting used to but he's really funny. He's definitely a real man, and he doesn't really strike me as an educator. I recommend that you start on your research paper early and allow yourself plenty of time: it counts double towards your final grade.

I took Mr. Luse for Comp II, and he's the best. The key to this class is turning your assignments in on time. He's happy to answer any questions, and will help you with whatever he can on your research paper. Just be prepared for his sarcasm. He's a trip.

I took him for Comp 1 & 2. He's quite possibly my favorite college professor. He really wants to help his students learn to write properly, and as long as you show improvements in your work, he'll give you a more than fair grade. You won't be sorry you took him unless you hate to write. Come on, it's Comp. What did you expect?

He looks kind of like Gandalf. He is witty, sarcastic and you won't learn much. He does show favoritism but overall the class is really easy. You have 1 research paper, multiple essays and you'll be able to rewrite papers for a better grade. TAKE HIM!!

If you care about writing he is a really good Professor to take. He may be a little hard on you, but you always get a chance to re-write his papers if you hand them in early enough. It's almost impossible to fail unless you don't go to class or don't do the work.

Professor Luse is amazing. Definitely my favorite professor I have EVER had at Valencia. Writing isn't my favorite thing to do and I'm not the best at it, but he really understands that. He gives you short stories to read & we used the books (there's 2) a lot. Nothing too much to handle. 3-4 at-home essays, two in-class essays & 1 research paper.

Pretty straightforward. Gives clear instructions. Mainly focuses on grammar and spelling. Allows students to have a wide variety of essay topics. You use the books towards the end of the semester. They are very useful when it comes to the citation part of your research paper.

He is my all-time fav professor. He really taught me how to do proper MLA format citations. He is very good at proofreading. He will read to the class a lot and then have open discussions. He is an eloquent professor and teaches important grammar skills. He gives tons of extra credit. If you miss 3 classes you fail. No eating or drinking in class.

Great Prof! He assigned a few typed essays and a few in class but it was always super easy and topics stayed open to interpretation. He loves to start controversial discussions which was fun. He doesn't use Canvas but make a group chat with other students and you'll be good. Easy grader and gives great feedback. AMAZING AND EASY as an 8wk class!!
