I absolutely LOVED this man. i was dreading taking a lit class and he made it great. i never thought i was a very good writer, and he helped me feel more confident. i'd recommend him to anyone. there is alot of work, but he is a very fair grader. honestly one of the best professors i have EVER had.

Before I used to hate grammar but this guy made it very interesting for us.I would highly recommend this teacher. Yes he likes giving out quizes that are unannounced but he cares a lot about his students. He gives you a chance to finish a paper at home if it was do in class. HE'S AWESOME. TAKE HIM!!

I took this class 2 years ago, but I remember his crazy hair to this day. He is a good teacher, and we got to discuss things almost every class before writing. English isn't very difficult to understand...but he is a fairly critical grader. Would takeagain simply b/c he's an interesting & nice.

He was THE best teacher! He'll occasionally keep you over, not an easy grader, and his classes involve lots of writing. But he offers help on an individualized basis, goes out of his way to help students succeed, and his topics are interesting and thought provoking. Watch out for his sometimes geeky jokes!

Madden is AWESOME! He is hilarious and waaaaaaay easy. Write a rough draft and submit it to him and he returns it with everything that needs to be changed. Change it and turn it in and you have an easy A. My lowest grade the entire semester was an 88. Everything else was A's. Don't let him fool you the first day of class - he's really easy.

Madden is terrific because he has a passion for what he is doing. While he is still accessible to the students who aren't head over heels for literature, he will also make an effort to let his students have some say in their school work. He is one of my favorites and a teacher I will continuously recommend. He is only easy because he is good at it.

Most important in this class is .... BE ON TIME! Mr. Madden is a very easy teacher he is very flexible on deadlines. His middterm and Finals are very clear and he is not deciving. He give you a study guide and the test comes from the study guide.

I took him for honors English 1101 and felt that he was a good teacher. I slacked off too much and got a B but it was an easy B. He is also very open to listening to his student's for suggestions on what should be learned.

Mr. Madden was a great teacher. This class was about Asian-American literature, I almost dropped it, but stuck it out and learned a lot. Watch a few movies, read a few books, wrote a few papers, pretty simple.

This professor really cares about your own opinion when you're writing, and as long as you can back up your opinions, format correctly, and make sense, you will get an A. He'll teach you a lot, and his class is pretty laid back so I'd definitely recommend his night classes. I've taken eng 1101, 1102, and I'm about to take 2112. I can't wait!

Very easy class. Talk to him, make friends I think that makes him grade easier. He like to have conversations with the students. I got an A on every assignment. Just show up to class on the peer edit days to get your participation points, format your papers correctly, listen to what he wants, don't miss more than four days and you have an EASY A!!

Madden is a wonderful teacher! He is very easy to talk to and extremely helpful. This is a composition class, and he requires 3 essays plus a research paper. Taking him is worth it, if you want to continue to higher education he will help you improve your writing skills tremendously.

He's a really nice guy and takes time to address each person's questions. This class requires a lot of writing and a research paper, which I'm not a fan of, but it's super easy. Just follow the syllabus and you'll be fine.

Took him for Summer 1101 English and it was great. Gave you enough time to complete an essay and all we had was 4 essays and a final. Overall was a good class, you just better know how to use grammar and punctuations, that is what he goes off of when grading the essays but would recommend for a summer class.

He is a very funny dude. youll actually like coming to class just to hear his jokes.He gives you about a month to write an essay.(heck you can go on vacation and come back an still get an A.lol) his lectures are review on writing skills and his hws are discussions you read from the book. you want a good time and still learn, take this guy.

I wrote all my papers the night before and I got an A. This class is not hard. Just don't forget to edit your paper for grammar and make sure it all follows the same topic and you will do great. The three people who got a D are on here venting but He's not a bad professor at all.

Mr.Madden is one of my favorite professors so far at GPC. His English 1101 class is laid back yet very informative. He grades essays fairly and gives good feedback. I liked him as a teacher and a person. Highly Recommended A++++

Online Humanities. Had to drive to Clarkston to get the book, which we never used. Had to order from Amazon the one he wanted. Did the 1st 5 chapters. One powerpoint, two essays and an easy midterm. Kind of hard to get hold of, but not a bad professor.

I took this class over the summer and I enjoyed it. This class was not hard. Two essays, a midterm, and the final. The tests were from his study guides just go through the text book and find the answers prior to taking the test. His essays are straight forward just do your research. I got this easy A because I did the work which was easy.

ok, so I originally signed up for a different professor but she had WAY too much stuff to do. Being the semi-lazy person I am, I switchd to this hybrid course. Best decision ever! You can miss tons of classes, (just dont be disrespectful about it). He's an awesome teacher, helps you with every essay. Final was easy. Got a 97 average. Pick him.

This class was great. It is very easy, if you like English. He gives you great tools to work with as far as power points with voice overs and stuff, but there aren't too many in class lectures. It is true, he does forever to grade papers, but who really cares? You're going to get a grade back. I definitely recommend this professor.

There were no lectures, no writing workshops, or homework. Which made the class feel like a waste of time, it was a bit frustrating having to come in at 7am and do nothing but be on Facebook for an hour. He's a really nice guy but if you're trying to improve your writing I wouldnt recommend him.

This guy, professor madden is misleading. When class start you are led to believe I need to withdraw immediately. PLEASE DON'T, this easy A will boost your overall GPA. Just come to class and laugh your way to an A. Do all assignments and let him review them and get a A! in my Harpo voice, "You get a A, we all get a A!"

Dr. Madden is a great professor! I took a hybrid class from him and it was not as hard as I thought it would be. Although we did have tests every 2 weeks he drops the two lowest at the end of the semester. If you're good at memorizing information you'll pass his tests. The lectures are very anatomy based, so great prep for anatomy. Fun labs!

Easy A. I had to write 5 papers, they were easy topics. All you have to do is participate in the peer edits and turn in your papers and you will pass. He can be a little unorganized and goes on and on about the Chinese language, but overall pretty easy.

Professor Madden is a great caring inspirational teacher. This was hands down my favorite class that even inspired me to want to become an English professor myself. I took professor Maddens online ENG 1101 course and finally passed after taking the class twice. He is straightforward absolutely no homework just 4 essays. The first two he allows a re-do. Passed with an A!

He only gives 3 papers and they are worth a lot. I recommend submitting your essays into smarthinking once you're done with them so that someone can peer edit your papers. He takes a while to grade so you won't know your grade until the end of the class. He is a good professor and is really easy to reach.

Madden's class was easy in my opinion. We had 3 essays overall and a few assignments that were just for the benefit of us and GSU. Since I took his class in person, it felt light, but I'm not sure if it would be different in person. When you go to class, you write, list to LONG talks, not much actual teaching involved aside from power-points.

I took the course as a high-school dual enrolled student. I felt like the course was relatively easy, especially having taken AP Lang. You get a lot of time to complete all the assignments (discussion posts + essay), but sometimes the due dates are off. Professor Madden is responsive, and you can always ask him questions.
