Terrible instructor
Good teacher. You have to warm up to him, but I really learned a lot.
OK, Teacher. Very hard class! Sometimes he is not very clear on the material that you will be tested on.
This teacher can sure teach.The only problem is nothing that he teaches you is actually on the test.Before the test he let's you ask questions and will give thorough answers on things not in the test and little info on what is on test.Don't take!!!!!!!!!!

In one way, it seems as though Bill creates a ramble session before class. There is so much of a foreign language, I expected better handling of material from him!
Hard teacher, way too detailed. Would not recommend at all. Out of a class of 40 there were 5 who passed (maybe 1 A, the rest C's and D's). He seems nice and helpful, but about mid semester you lose all hope!
i hated his class. it was dropped on the last day to drop, i tried to hold on but i really wasted a semester. he explains what isn't on the exam very thoroughly. and his laugh is annoying!
DO NOT TAKE. He makes you learn twice as much info as the other Bio teachers in ten times the detail. He talks a lot about stuff you don't need to know and you're never sure what you'll be tested on. Talks a mile a minute so you can't even understand him.

Rambles, starts class early and never lets class out on time. Always keeps class 10 minutes extra babbling about what he'll talk about next class. He is nice, and very smart, and also hard. All in all, he's average.

He makes you know more than the other profs expect you to, talks WAY too fast, and keeps you late, BUT, he is still an EXCELLENT teacher. He is hard because he expects you to learn the material 130%. To me, that's a good thing.
he crams a lot of knowledge into each class period, and goes pretty fast through it, but he takes his tests directly from the notes, so if you study them, you can do well. one good thing: his writing assignments are really easy
Hardest 1000 level class I've ever had. Worst teacher I've ever had. Jumps back and forth on board giving notes, isn't very clear about what he's talking about.
this teacher is horrible, he makes this class the hardest you will ever take. Do not take this teacher you will be very sorry.

He is a very hard teacher, but very helpful if you don't understand he will try his best to expalin it to you. I learned a great deal from him. If you take him don't be afraid to go to ask him for help.

McCracken is the worst teacher. He likes to laugh at people when they don't get it. He goes too fast, and runs off on too many tangents. He is very unclear on everything. He is not helpful at all. He misses too much class. He's a terrible person, and a terrible teacher.
I'm usually a science whiz, and this class had me on my butt. but not because of the material. Simply because this teacher is awful. If he spent less time at the snack machine and more on his class plan, then maybe this class would make more sense. DONT TAKE IT

He makes everything so hard and impossible to get an 'A'on anything.Im a biology major(pre-med) and he speaks to everyone like they all have taken anatomy courses before,he doesnt know how to say anything in a simple manner.Its a shame that he is the only one teaching anatomy.WORST TEACHER I'VE HAD!

Its a shame that TCC has not let Fatalonious McKraken go! Worst teacher at TCC. His attributes: Not funny, not amusing, not nice, just boring and rude. Tested on material not in book and not lectured upon. I suspect that this man came up short somewhere in life and takes it out on his students.
Very well organized, hard - yes! but effective. Students leaving his class know their stuff. Not for lazies though!!!

this is the most horrible teacher in the history of mankind. when he speaks it is very unclear. he tells you to pruchase the textbook but never uses it. does not assist the students at all. The notes he gives are very unclear. please to save the stress DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!
I can honestly say that i learned a lot from this professor, looking back, it was a very difficult course however this instructor taught me what i needed to know and i have gone back in the lab and can still remember every bone and muscle.

I studied my butt off, and it paid off--I'm kind of proud of that. Yes, he's tough, but I knew that going in. Just be aware that his class may not for you if you already have a rough schedule.

He is a great teacher. You MUST study, but he will help you any way he can. You will know your stuff if you take his class and pass it!
So, since when is hard bad??? If all you want is an easy way out, maybe you shouldn't be in college in the first place. He is very thorough and prepares you well for next class. And he spells and pronounces correctly!!!

Enough is enough! Wastes time worring about minor distractions in class than in explaining material so we can understand it. Slurs over important terminology and seems utterly incapable of saying ANYTHING in a simple manner that beginners can understand. I don't mind hard work, just not impossible work!
I you want any chance of getting into nursing school DO NOT TAKE this Instructor for Anatomy and physiology. Take anybody else for A&P I and Smith or Beregowitz for A&P II. He is by far one of the worst Instructors here.
I can't believe this professor still has a job. He's very intelligent, and he holds that over your head like a carrot. It seems he doesn't want you to succeed, and works very hard at making the class confusing, and studying for a test nearly impossible. Unless you are a glutton for punishment- don't take his classes.
Mr.McCracken is extremely intelligent, very articulate, great sense of humor, and prepares students for a future in health related fields. I would trust anyone to operate on me who has been educated by this brilliant man. Despite others perceptions, I find him very attractive and disdain those who ridicule him.

Mr. McCracken is a truly brilliant man and like most brilliant men they lecture on a "brilliant" level if you don't give a damn about A&P and just want to get your grade and go on take someone else, but if you want to know your stuff their is no better professor. Mr McCracken covers alot, but he is clear and available and helpful in office hours.
Mr. McCracken is an Awesome teacher! He was a little difficult, but I studied and made an A. yah! an A. Most people come to A&PI totally green. McCracken will teach you well if you want to learn, and my success in his course built a foundation for me that made success in Nutrition, Chem1032, BSC2086, etc.. a breeze all A's. Ok with so much negative stuff about him on here I'll clear it up, if this is a class you plan on breezing through and not studying..dream on..there is not a such thing as easy A&P no matter who you take. And if you think he is hard..well nursing might not be your thing..sure he's tough but possible...just b/c you made a bad grade, dont be rude!!

What it all boils down to is teaching skills. Every professor should be able to relay the necessary info to students in a way that can be absorbed and understood. I shouldn't have to do an excessive amount of studying for any one class. He makes the course difficult by providing a surplus of material to cover and intentionally making his exams hard
This is a very good teacher if you want to know your stuff, especially for nursing. You just need to study...every week. If you don't want to study alot don't go into nursing!
What the hell was I thinking taking his class. No wonder he was the last available teacher left. If you wanna pass his class just don't do it to yourself. If failing is your forte go ahead and take it. He is the type of teacher that knows his stuff but doesn't know how to teach it. He should have just become a doctor instead of a teacher...:(
i took his class for ap lab 1. i liked him!! he was always jolly and willing to help if you had questions. it's a lot of studying, but all the classes are the same, as long as you study EVERYTHING on the need-to-know sheet you will be golden! i would take him again, he was god in my eyes compared to my horrible lecture "teacher" mrs. gresko...

Mr. McCracken is only going to help the students that help themselves. If you want to learn, he will help you in any way possible. Very bright man. I found him delightful!
so he is a nice man, he knows his stuff, but he is not a teacher... he will always help but his lectures make no sense unless you have prior knowledge of the material.... i took him and withdrew, then went to take it for summer and he was the only one teaching it and still got a D ... if you want to get into nursing school do not take him

One of the worst teachers that I've ever had. He knows his stuff but is USELESS at teaching it!!!! Please try not to take this professor... believe me, I wish I would have listened to the people who told me not to take him sooner before I got a D in the class!
If u want to pass dont take him for lecture. This class was my first D and I never missed a class, was in a study group w the smartest kids in class, and study almost every night(it took over my life)! IT WAS HELL! U cant understand he goes to fast!

He really is not as bad as he sounds - he's smart and funny if you understand his sense of humor. And yes, you can make an A if you study, go to class every day, and also take extremely detailed notes. Use the book if he moves too quickly for you.
Not a good idea to take him. He was by far the worst professor I have ever taken. I don't think he likes his students to succeed. I got a B, but had no life all summer. The class started with about 10-12 students and only me and one other person took the final. RUN

He really knows his stuff but knows it so well that it is difficult for him to put it on a student level. BUT he does compare different things to examples you can remember and learn. He is VERY demanding and expects alot out of his students.
YOU WILL NEED TO STUDY! This is not an easy class, no matter who you take. He is very willing to help and answer aquestions, especially one on one and he does want you to succeed. For those of us that want to be nurses we should memorize this info anyway!!!

I don't want to say he is the worst teacher I have ever taken, but I would be lying. I studied so much and I went to study groups, yet it still wouldn't help my grade. He is so smart about what he teaches but it is hard for him to break it down for you. You get quizzes every week with really tough exams.I'm warning you, Take him at your own risk..
Why the hell can't he just teach the lab?????? He just gives us the sheets and expects us to go at it. All the rest of the instructors actively TEACH during lab! And he nit-picks everything! No one else is giving two muscle quizzes, but ohh noo we get two! My class is down to less than half already! Why is he still teaching this class????
Do NOT take him for BSC 2085 Lab! He is absolutely useless in lab. Doesn't teach, expects you to get it on your own. He will answer questions, but you are typically so confused you don't know what to ask! Take Bob, Martha, or Harry instead and you will actually be TAUGHT in lab and actually learn the material. Please LISTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This a learn it yourself Lab teacher, and he makes it even more difficult on his students. You have to want to pass! I have never worked so hard in my life for a B! The professor acts as if his class is the only one on the students schedule. He teaches as if the student already know what he is talking about. His passing rate is a 20%. I constantly studied for his test & still failed. He do not give partial credit for test. He confuses students by adding too multiple chose such as A&D or B&C instead of A,B or C

If you want an education, this is the lab prof for you. He speaks quickly, but will gladly repeat when asked. In a class where repetition and memory devices are your friends, this prof knows all the tricks. He reviews everything thoroughly in class, using all available resources (books, website, models). Go to the pre-practical open sessions, too.

Many students dropped his class, but most never came anyways. You will do well if you take notes, study 3-4 hours a week, and show up for his quizzes. He is very helpful if you show up to his office hours. HE WILL PASS YOU IF YOU MAKE AN ATTEMPT!!! Trust me, I pulled a B thinking I was going to get a D, but he curved the grades anyways.
Worst teacher ever. AVOID AT ALL COST. Get Beregowitz, he's amazing and makes things a millions times more interesting.
I recommend not taking this professor. He is a nice guy but very hard class. He is really difficult to understand and makes the information 10X harder than it really is. I have never worked so hard for a B in my life...a low B! Avoid if at all possible!!!
MUST HAVE 2 days a week to study for his class.you have to memorize the 15 pages he tells you to know and Identify for every practical and test. No study guides, just read the book! He helped out in the learning commons all the time. I learned a lot about anatomy and it tests... if you can get through mccracken, you'll get through nursing school.
This teacher is the worst ever. He doesn't help and failes almost everyone in the class. My class started with 30 people and only 7 ended up taking the final. Me and my study partner were 2 of those and we both got D's. Even though we studied all the time. I got all A's in my other classes. This guy is worthless.
this is the most absolute worst teacher I have ever had. not only did he make his class next to impossible to pass, having to put in all the study time dropped my overall gpa for the semester in all my classes, not to mention what I had worked so hard for for the last 1.5 yrs. do not if you can help it take this useless guy.
I do agree with some comments, but one thing I have to say about McCraken is that he's actually a good teacher, I learned a lot of useful information here. The class itself is not that hard, what's hard in his class is the tests, he makes a lot of the questions very tricky. Overall, he's not that bad as some people say. I got a B in his class. :)
prof. mccracken gave difficult tests- but if a student takes the time to go to class, listen and take notes, and then study their notes (with occasional reference to the book and some reading), that student should do fine. i got an A in A&P I.

Dr. McCracken, and the study habits I developed to excel in his courses, are what enabled me to graduate 4th in my class. Study hard and you will be rewarded.
