he's hot, in like a skater-nerd punk (cohen from the oc) kinda way... not married. kinda has controll issues, that's hot, easy class. take notes, take tests, that's it.
Awesome speaker, but a little disorganized with assignments.
This guy is an awesome teacher and a great speaker. His tests consist of memorizing a couple of events and his assignment are fairly easy. I really recommend taking one of his classes, he makes US History really interesing.
This Prof is great! His class is very interesting and I've learned alot. He is always willing to help his students and answer questions. He is a great lecturer. I highly recommend his class.
HE is okay but not great. He isn't clear on mid-term and finales.
I highly recommend this instructor. He's fair in his grading, andtests are pretty easy. Could use a little more clarity on assingments. Extremely HOT!!! Keeps your interest in class. Overall he's a great instructor!
overall it's an easy class. he lectures (awesome speaker, btw), you take notes, sometimes you watch a movie, or you read from the book and answer questions with a group. that's pretty much it.
He is sooooo Hot!!! Oh my hottieness. he is a great teacher. Study the terms and youll get an A. Hottness is a bonus!
An easy A + Easy class = Great instructor
He will not answer emails, doesn't really attempt to hand back tests or papers other than one time. Not approachable.... would recommend another professor for sure.
Stay up with the reading and ask questions during class. He will always clarify information if you address him. Timely return of papers and tests is not his strong point but interesting lectures and other mediums of information are used every week.
He has a broad spectrum of knowledge on the subject, and very dry sense of humor. The class is mostly lecture, with the occasional read and a paper or two. If you show up, you'll pass.
no essay questions on tests, only one paper one page and thats it. easy
Mr. Morris is a great lechurer, considering that's all he does! I'm in his class now and i have at least 25 pages of notes...we still have over a month left of school. Overall he's very knowledgeable. I recommend his class. you will learn a lot.
Easy teacher, very knowledgeable, seems strict but is very easy going!
He is a great teacher. He knows what he's talking about, and is willing to help you if you need it. His class isn't that hard, but I don't think it's an easy A either. His grading is... okay I guess. He doesn't grade easy though. Lectures & Notes mostly. Oh, he looks pretty good too. He's funny and laidback <3
Morris is a very engaging lecturer and he is very clear with his expectations for you as a student. You will easily take a notebook or two worth of notes throughout the quarter, which will be necessary for you to get a good grade on tests. I did not enjoy history going into the quarter, but now have a great appreciation for it! Thanks Mr. Morris!
Got me up in the morning to come to class cause he was nice to look at:)
Mr. Morris is probably one of my favourite teachers, not just because he is good looking (I am an 18 year old girl, out of my league ha). But because he has tests that are easy but not too easy. I actually took his class two quarters in a row because I liked him so much. Seriously! Take him!!
really great teacher! one of the best I have had so far, actually probably THE BEST! Hes really good lookin' too!!
If you are considering taking one of his classes *do not* take an on-line course from him! He does not stick to the syllabus when it comes to tests and he does not answer emails. It makes an otherwise straight forward class utterly frusterating!!!

Do not, I repeat, do not take the online course with this instructor. Not GOOD AT ALL. Very disorganized and doesn't return emails.
He was amazing. Very passionate about the subject. Most every Friday is a movie. He gives you the exact terms to study. 3 tests, that if you study, you'll do fine. Make sure you use a blue book for tests. He's easy on the eyes, that's for sure. But he's super intelligent, which makes him even more so. He's one of my favorite professors.
Excellent professor, EXTREMELY intelligent. If you like history, you will most definitely enjoy his class...even if you don't like history you will by the end of his class. No homework, which is a bonus. 2 exams, a final and a letter to a government official. GO TO CLASS....very important.
he wears the same shoes every day....
Best lecturer I've ever had, hands-down. We watch movies almost every Friday, too, which is nice. But Mr. Morris is not at all what I would call approachable, and he can be a bit tough on the grading. Study for mid-terms and the final and you'll do just fine-- and make sure to do well on that "letter to an elected official". Overall, recommended!
morris is an "ok" teacher. He doesnt really take his class seriously, but expects you to take seriously... grades hard....but no homework...no class work....dont need book....STUDY FOR TESTS!!
Do not EVER expect any of your tests or that letter back. I like getting my work back so that bugged me big time. That being said. It was an extremely interesting class. You need the redish colored book, but not the white book. You must do well on everything in order to get a good grade.
I honestly didn't get much out of this class. He doesn't have much of a sense of humor, isn't engaging at all, and is quite frankly pretty arrogant. He is intelligent but not very organized. Student lead power point presentations were brutal to sit through. Tests were essay only and tough. It's hard to anticipate how he really wants you to answer.
I never went to class and I still got a B+ just make sure to get the study guide and you'll be golden.
Mr Morris is a wonderful teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and would not hesitate to take another class from him. You will learn a lot about history. His teaching style is open and makes you think!
A solid teacher, very intelligent in his field & through. In the beginning I had my doubts, but as the term went on he's lectures grew on me. Complex personality more then what meets the eye & actually a pretty funny guy. the book is the hw & does essay styled test, I was blessed with plenty of dumb ass's in the class so I was fairly entertained.

Great Teacher...Take his class!
Great lecturer. He kept his class pretty interesting. But he's stingy about giving A's. Overall I'd recommend him.
His lectures are interesting, but he grades hard on the tests. The tests are essay based so you have to figure out what he wants on the topic. I enjoy going to class because he has a soothing voice and is really cute!!! I would definitely take his class again.
He is an OK teacher. I took a summer NW History class and you could tell he didn't want to be there. I never missed a class and the majority of the class was a video he would play while he left the classroom and walked around while it was nice out. He's arrogant and straight out rude. He's intelligent but has a horrible attitude.
He's a good teacher but is really loud and arrogant. Extremely smart and knows his stuff but likes to let you know that he knows it better. He'll teach you the stuff you want to know but make sure you read the book because he gets really angry if no one answers him.
He is a really good teacher so long as you pay attention. WARNING if you don't read the chapters AND take notes on lectures you will not pass his class! His quizzes are little tiny details from the assigned chapter and both midterms and the final are on the book and the notes. Also make sure you can handle being treated like an idiot.
Treated student who didn't know anything about history like they were idiots and talked a lot but he was okay. Pretty easy to bs the class and pass with an A.
Really easy class if you take notes and pay attention in class. Watch a movie every Friday (historical and related to the class of course). You have to study and memorize dates and things before his quizzes, but overall pretty easy class.
he is a very aggressive person, you will feel like an idiot if you answer wrong. his quizzes you can get by with guessing, if you miss more then 5 days then you lose like 2.5%of your grade after everyday. he makes you write a letter but he's very vague on how to do it.
He is very crude but you learn a lot. My first college class ever and he made it a memorable one.
Pretty cool guy... :)
A truly knowledgable person, any also funny. His classroom is very enjoyable and you are constantly intertained. As long as you read the book and study, you should be fine. Plus, he has very little homework. He is a great teacher to have and I took two of his classes.
lectures on the whole time in class- you have to take good notes. Have 2 mid-terms and a final - the test are really hard have to study a lot. On the study guide He picks 20 terms (the terms have to be very detailed- know all your dates and places- memorize a lot) About of all 20 terms 10 are going to be on the test and out of 10 you pick 5 terms
Awesome teacher, I was bumped off the waitlist, added me anyway. Makes a ton of random comments that are absolutely hilarious. Love this professor, taking him again for HIST147.
He lectured every single day, the entire class period. Kinda boring. Only 2 midterms and a final, with like 1 or 2 small assignments. his tests are short essay, and based on 20 terms he gives you. I would study each term a couple days before class and I got As and Bs, so it wasn't too hard for me. We barely used the books. don't buy them
The class is reallllyyyy easy. It's all lecture and notes, but it is super easy. I got an A on both my midterms and my final and I hate history. He's also hilarious and sarcastic. :)
2 Midterms 1 Final. A couple of small assignments. He lectured Mon. Tue. Wed. and on Thur. we did small group assignments. Friday was usually a movie day. Compared to other history teachers Morris is easy as long as you follow along in the book and take notes on the lectures.
Morris was a good teacher, he was funny and easy to talk to at first he might seem ean but he is chill,2 midterms and I final and thursday is small group and friday is movie day (dont bother going)WE NEVER used the book he gives a study guide and use the internet to study I passed all my midterms and never read the books, DONT GET BOOKS.
Don't get textbook. A lot of studying .
Very boring unless you are really interested in History. Only things graded are the 2 midterms, business letter, and the final. He grades HARSHLY! His directions say write 3 to 5 sentences on writing prompts; however writing an entire page will only result in a 17 or 18/20. The only good thing is attendance is not mandatory.
Not a hard history class. He lectures Mon, Tues, and Wed. Thursday is group book reading. Friday is usually a history movie day. No homework which is extremely awesome other than studying for 2 midterms, a final and writing a letter. I recommend him to take for history.
Good lectures. Knows his stuff1
Easy class if you study. Knows his stuff. Overall great professor if you're interested in taking history. Take notes on his lectures and you'll be fine.
This guy knows what he's talking about. He also shows something that I find most teachers lack. He shows a passion for teaching andreally wants you to learn from his class and it shows. This is a great refresher from what most teachers show in their classes. If you pay attention you have nothing to fear from this class.
WORST ONLINE CLASS EVER. I worked really hard in this class and received mediocre grades. Very unclear guidelines, poor communication, worst grader. Documentary was graded through an email but later I was told I wouldn't receive credit because he couldn't view my video, I've never been more confused with a grading method.
Fun and fairly easy, plus he knows his stuff! Textbooks used on thursdays, and every friday was a history movie day. 2 midterms and a final to study for, plus writing a leter to an elected offical, but otherwise, no homework at all! Just sit through the lectures and you'll do fine :)
Great teacher, not so sure i like him as a person though. He is super rude and he flat out tells you that he doesn't care about you. Not much homework, but the tests are graded extremely hard. I'd exercise caution when thinking about this professor.
He is odd (which I liked), funny, cares about his students, and is very effective in helping students learn. He constantly asks to see if he has been clear, and always answers questions (usually is able to do this off the top of his head). Very impressive. Only four assignments (2 midterms, 1 final, and a letter). Great teacher!
Morris was a very odd person. He is a great teacher though. He actually got me interested in History a little bit. I was mad because we didn't really need the Give Me Liberty book at all, and the other book is used on Thursdays most of the time. Movies Friday and I always missed those. And he has a YouTube channel, gildersniff, hilarious! Take him!
I hated this class. He lectures a lot and expects you to remember everything. He talks really fast over the really important details. Only has 2 midterms, a final and a letter to Congress and grades very harshly! On midterms he says to write 4 to 6 sentences and you could write a full page and still not recieve full credit!
DO NOT buy the book! didnt use it once! his class is simple as long as you study really hard! if your bad at test taking, thats pretty much what the classis graded on. hes a little weird and screams sometimes.
He is funny in a sarcastic way. I really liked him. He is kinda an odd guy though. Before his class I hated history but thanks to him i have become more interested. Also watch his videos on youtube! They aren't about history and one has 107,000 views.
Funny guy. Talks a lot.
This is an easy class if you are good at memorization. There are only 3 tests and 1 assignment. The tests require you to memorize 20-40 terms and be able to write a page on each. I only used the text book for studying for tests, but I wouldn't recommend getting the book. Morris is sarcastic and doesn't really get to know his students.
I didn't like the class when i took it because it was strictly lecture, but then i took another history class which the teacher didn't lecture at all which made Morris' class look heavenly. He's kind of an interesting teacher, if you expect to have any kind of relationship with him--don't. He didn't even know my name at the end of the quarter.
Mr. Morris was a fantastic teacher if you like lecture and structure to a class. Thursday mandatory group reading, 3 tests, and one 1-2 page letter. No homework or reading ever! Tests are essay based, and you need to study for them, but you only have to really work for the weeks before each test. Show up, take notes, study before tests and get an A
Morris'' lectures take most of the class time but he''s pretty witty and kept me thoroughly entertained whilst teaching me history which is a tall task. I am taking another one of his classes this quarter bc i couldn''t get enough i guess. Also he''s got the hot middle aged man vibes going on dresses really nice if you''re into that
The class is really easy. The textbook is NEVER used. Just show up Mon, Tues, Wed for his lectures. Thurs is a group reading day-not super important but it can give your grade an extra 2%. Don't bother showing up on Friday-its just a movie. He grades kind of harsh and doesn't give any feedback, but there is only 2 midterms, a final, and a letter.
no textbook needed hes a tough grader tho
Great teacher want to take the class again love this guy.
He definitely is a tough grader, but he makes you learn instead of just copying down. Only 3 tests and a letter and the tests are just defining vocab.
class is really not that tough. only two miderms and a final (and they're all just essays).. also one letter to write.. he can come off blunt and gruff, and gets annoyed easily. I liked the class for the no hw aspect, and he graded me very well. if you can't get a b in this class you are being lazy or need to work on writing.
Morris has been my favorite professor at Clark so far. His class is exclusively lecture but his lectures are interesting and there is very little homework. His tests are difficult but considering how little homework there is it makes up for it. It wasn't completely necessary to show up but you get more participation points.
Very unclear instructions online. Takes weeks to grade some assignments. You will have to read the books about the PNW in order to pass the quizes (which are weekly along with other assignments...). Can get an A if you work for it. Lots of little assignments, which is always helpful for a better grade.
He wasn't very clear with instructions regarding big assignments like essays. He was very arrogant as well, not very open to students ideas.
Although this class is 5 days a week there are only 2 midterms, a final and 1 letter to write. The tests involve writing 5 small essays in 50 min about vocab terms. He is a pretty easy grader, and his lectures are thorough. He comes off a bit unapproachable, but really he is very sarcastic and witty. He will answer questions if you ask them.
Lectures are interesting and kept me listening. Never cracked the text book, just take notes pay attention during lectures and you'll be golden.
Very easy class and enjoyable he is hilarious and i would have him every quarter if i could
Only 3 tests the whole quarter and one final. Easiest class ive token at clark
take notes on his lectures to pass his midterm and final. participation points was once to twice a week, and had movie days. had one assignment, a midterm and a final. He's keeps class interesting unlike any teacher I've listened to lecture. he's funny id recommend him for 146
If you take him online, prepare to be frustrated. He is disorganized, not clear with assignments, grades incredibly hard without offering anything in the way of a rubric or clear instructions. He's rude, slow to respond, and slow to grade. Syllabus never matches what is actually going on, so you have to really pay attention to when things are due.
Super easy class. I only studied the day before midterms and the final. I passed everything with in A. Don't get the book, you don't use it. It says in the syllabus to read certain chapter for every week, you don't have to read because he's just gonna lecture on it. Take this class if you need an easy 5 credit class.
Very easy and good teacher. As long as you study before midterms you will pass the class with an A or B. Attendance is hardly mandatory. Some quarters he takes attendance others he doesn't.
2/3 of the graded coursework happens in the last 2 weeks of the quarter, after the withdrawal deadline. Arbitrary "participation" grade (1/6 of the course total) is awarded on the last day of the quarter. No office hours, and can be slow to respond to email. No extra credit, and tends to be a tough grader.
Mr. Morris is an excellent teacher and has amazing lectures. If you show up to class everyday and take thorough notes you should have no problem passing the class. While the book is not essential to passing, it's a good idea to use it to supplement his lectures if you want to get an A on the midterms and final. One of the best teachers I've had.
Morris knows his stuff and his lectures are pretty detailed and clear. Attendance is not graded, but there is occasional in-class work that is graded and can't be made up. Exams are the main chunk of your grade. Have to write 5 pages for each exam. Not too difficult in reality. Book is never used. Good class, he makes learning history interesting.
Depending on your learning style, Morris's class is one of the more easier history classes. Most of your grade is based on the 4 test and a letter to a congressman. Don't take too long writing down the terms and be VERY descriptive too. Take VERY thorough noted cuz he talks very fast. We also have a movie day and group readings once a week.
Pretty much what you'd imagine a history class should look like.
Professor Morris isn't given the amount of credit that he should have which is ridiculous! He is an awesome history teacher by far the best I've ever had. He made me understand and enjoy ever lecture. Honestly I'm suprised he has such a low rating! He's pretty awesome guys and gives so many people secound chances when taking a midterm. Great profes
Morris is a fantastic professor. One of the few lecturers that actually keeps me engaged. It is VERY IMPORTANT to take notes during his lectures. The content he looks for in the short essay tests are straight out of his lectures. It's a pretty easy A as long as you study for the midterms and take notes.
Its your basic lecture/essay class, but he makes it enjoyable. Really has interesting side notes about history that makes it enjoyable to listen to. There are a few group projects and there are only a few things you are graded on.
Best professor I've ever had at Clark College! I recommend taking him; don't bother buying the book. You'll never need it!
Just your average class and average teacher. Graded on three tests including final, participation (presenting to the class a couple times), and a formal letter. Doesnt give any info on how to write paper then grades harshly. Doesnt particularly care about his students but not the worst professor Ive taken. Tests arent super hard, just study.
Good teacher, has a good mix of lectures along with group reading activities. Explains the information well. The only real graded assignments were 2 tests, and then the final. These tests require you to be fairly good at memorizing material. Overall I would say he did a pretty good job.
He's not a bad teacher. He is able to teach the necessary criteria in the given time. But that's pretty much it. He doesn't respond to emails, he is very disorganized, he is very slow to grade the 6 assignments we had all quarter, and seems quite apathetic when it comes to wanting a certain assignment or more information on what I'm confused about.
I basically taught myself the material. He gives you 20 terms to study and 5 random ones will be on the test. Each term has to be a page long minimum. The thing is, youre forced to write 20-25 pages of study terms and he doesnt give any information so you basically copy a Wikipedia page and study that. Dont by the book- BIG mistake. Never used.
Morris is still by far my favorite professor! I really enjoyed the overall environment he created. His teaching isnt time consuming, difficult, or meticulous. Despite the relaxed class setting Morris was still able to teach constructively through entertaining lectures. The trick to an easy A in his class is writing over a page on exams.
