Nice teacher, no need to do all the readings just use the study guide and you'll get an A

Loved the class till the first test- impossible. Be sure to write out essays from review sheet as soon as it's handed out, he's real tough on the tests. knowledgeable though, lectures good, uses some movies, maps, pics, etc...

Great Class the tests are excatly what you see on the study guide. You will do fine if you study your guide and come to class

You get out what you put in. Pretty easy as a gen. ed., if you've got more of an interest in the subject, he's incredibly knowledgeable and willing to spread the intellectual wealth. Great teacher

The man knows his stuff, but he expects you to know everyhting he does. His tests are right form the study guide, but his papers are impossible. You better know how to write a paper worth being printed if you want a grade above "C"

Great teacher! Really knows what he's talking about, tries to get the class involved. Easy to get a good grade as long as you try.

Great prof, if you need this class I would get him. Really knows a lot about History. Give you everything you need for the exams. Very helpful he's interesting if you like history

I'm not big into history but he made it interesting. He uses notes, video clips, and overhead so it isn't just him talking. He really knows a lot about history. Tests are EASY...right from the study guide! Don't need to read for the class either.

One of my favorite profs I've had at Grand Valley. Gives a study guide of exactly what will be on the exams. Doesn't take attendence. Interesting lectures.

GREAT professor, knows alot and will discuss any idea openly with you after class or even during. Can be boring at times, because the class size is small and the format is lecture...but he makes it interesting with great movie clips, like as Monty Python

Great professor. If your interested in Rome or even Egypt, he is really great. I did an idependence studies course with him and really enjoyed it.

This guy is extremely knowledgeable (a rarity at gvsu). His lectures are interesting and informative; exams are not bad, off of the study guide, not the notes.

Great Class. I wasnt looking forward to history but he is a great prof. You only write 2 papers and take 2 exams good lectures. Morison knows a lot about Ancient Rome and Greece. he has traveled a lot and has awesome pictures to share.

He is a terrific teacher, i recommend him for this class. He teaches it like a 100 class and is very knowledgable about the topics covered. Exams are directly off the study guide, study =A

Very good Professor! Lectures are very interesting. However, you write two 6-7 page papers that are very hard to get even a B on. The 2 exams were not bad as long as you studied a lot for them!

The papers are so difficult to write. I never want to see another compare and contrast paper again! Good luck getting any higher than a C. He gives you the essays for the midterm and final exam, make sure you prepare!

He makes history interesting. Very helpful when questions are asked. Go to class and do the short assignments and your going to get an A.

Knows his information, and how to run a class. Smooth. Pay attention for the tests. Tests are challenging, but use the study guide. Write the papers how hes wants it, and have it checked numerous times.

The greatest professor! His gives interesting topics for papers. Funny and makes the class enjoyable, wants you to ask questions. Always willing to help. Yu must take this class with Bill, trust me you won't regret it!!

Morison was AMAAAAAAAAZING!! I thoroughly enjoyed his class! He makes the lectures interesting by using all the available sources such as the overhead, the whiteboard, power point, outline on Bb, pictures, and even some cool movies/documentaries. Take Morison for an easy and fun A!

Very hard grader. Very picky but he does give you one week to meet with him and turn in the final draft. Essays are hard, but online quizes are so easy theyre ajoke. Never gives any quizzes in class. Very nice, intelligent and interesting man. If history is your thing, you'll be glad you took him.

A very good class. Rushed through because it was a summer class, but the prof is very knowledgeable and entertaining. He really knows his stuff and presents history using a variety of multimedia (video, internet, photos, etc). Makes history come alive!

A good class and a great professor. This is my second time with him because he is knowledgeable and helpful. Exams are not easy, but gives a good study guide. Lectures are fact filled and interesting, and he uses maps, movies and other visual aids to help support his lecture material. Really knows his stuff and is eager to help outside of class

He really cared about teaching and got the information across very well. However, his papers and tests were very challenging. Be prepared to study, but you will learn a lot.

He is very nice, but i found him to be quite boring. He is a very hard grader on papers, but he prepares you well for the exams. He also knows what he is talking about...very knowledgeable. Overall, he is an ok prof. if you work hard on the papers and don't mind the boring class.

GREAT professor. class is difficult, but he was always willing to look over drafts of papers. intensive writing (weekly writings, sometimes more than one) and reading, his teaching style made up for it. i would definently take him again.

He is very boring and tends to ramble, but he is definately a nice guy. Hard grader on papers, but he will help you if you ask him. From what i hear, he is better than the profs from the other section!

He is by far the most boring prof I have had a gvsu. He talks too damn much and I could not stay focus at all!!! He rambles about nothing.. But he is willing to help you on papers in class. NEVER take him in the spring/summer!!!

He is one of the best history profs @ GV. He has a lecture format, so if you don't like that, don't take him. Very knowledgeable about his subject area and always willing to meet outside of class. Have him look over drafts of papers and you'll do well and learn a lot!

Bill is a great prof. Down-to-Earth and willing to help in any way possible. In this class he brought in guest lecturers and allowed students to pursue their own interests in history. Overall a fabulous prof and I would recommend him. He does make you work for your grade though, so be prepared for every class!

Morison is a great lecturer. He is very knowledgable and very approachable. Always willing to help with papers outside of class.

Great prof! Comes across very hard, but is easy with the slightest bit of effort. Notes are main study-buddy for tests. Pay attention in class and take good notes. Memorization of key points for midterm/final exam essay questions is how I did well on each. Helpful outside of class, and an awesome guy after getting to know him. Great Class!

Prof. Morison is a great professor. He is a little dry, but his lectures weren't that boring - i've had worse. He's very helpful when it comes to revising papers and is fair in his grading. His summer class isn't really that bad, it would just be interesting to have a full semester because i know he has a lot to say. Wonderful professor!

Great Class, Professor Morrison is always willing to help if you ask. Lecture format, but he keeps it interesting. Very knowledgeable about his subject area. Reasonable assignments, and willing to extended deadlines if asked. All around good experience.

Dr. Morison is an excellent prof! He was extremely helpful and very understandable. Powerpoint lectures, take home exams, book reviews, and in class assignments. Do the work and you'll be fine. Ask for extended deadlines if needed. I would def. recommend him!

Very good professor! His lectures are a tad bit long and boring but he REALLY knows what he's talking about! He's an easy grader, and is very passionate about what he's teaching. I would totally take him again.

Online class. Every other week discussion and quiz. One project

overall it was pretty good. His grading was a little confusing because sometimes he would grade really easy and other times it would be harsh. Weekly discussion boards and quizes. There is one group project that you work on over like 8 weeks. The project was a little hard online just for communication reasons

Lots of reading but easy if you actually read it. Download a app to read it for you.

I took him asynch for HST101. He seemed like a nice guy. The material itself was pretty easy. A lot of the class felt like busy work. Assignments for the class took only about an hour or two each week. There is one big group project, which was a little hard to execute and communicate with group members given the class being asynch.
