MAN this class was the EASIEST class I've taken even back in high school. I got A all of the essays. He's a bit weird looking and when he talks he sounds as if he has a stuffy nose. He NEVER gave tests nor homework, he gave us about 2 weeks to finish 1 essay. I recommend him to EVERY incoming freshman taking ENC1101.

Mr.Murhpy is my best English professor. He is detailed, helpful, and understanding. He is a bit eccentric, but he is the perfect example of "don't judge the book by its cover, but its content”. I love this professor.

I had this professor for Enc 1101 and 1102.He's really easy.He doesn't give much tests.he's not a challenging teacher.If you just need this class to pass with a A take him.if your major is English don'ttake him.He's a teacher were you express your self in writing and its not about right or wrong.Easy A.And he's son is soooooooooooo cute.

OMG!!! I ADORE this teacher. He is such an easy-going person and he tells stale jokes that make you giggle anyway. He's helpful and very clear. This professor is awsome! He is so sweet and open to everyone's opinions. There is one journal which you write in class, no tests, and three papers you turn in whenever you want as long as its before the end of the semester. Doesn't get more lenient! If you do all the journal assignments you will learn a lot about literature! Take him easy A!

I got an "A". He's a cool dude...never angry and always crackin jokes. The only grades were 4 term papers, journal entries, and an open book test. He grades each paper when its due, then gives it back so you can make corrections and turn it in later for a better grade. He always stays after class to answer questions.

I received a "B". The comment below this one is mine as well - I took him for 1101, then for 1102. His 1102 class was extremely easy but also boring. He pretty much read to us every day lol. Our assignments were the daily journal entries, a presentation of a song, and a 5 page research paper. The midterm and final were a joke. Easy A or B

He is a freat professor, I had him for the summer class and he didnt give any test, exams,or quizes. All you have to do is read 7 short stories he gives to the class and write 1 pg paper on them, and 4pg research paper, and an anaylsis paper on a poem thats it, esay as pie. I got an A! Professor Murphy is a sweetheart and very laid back. A lot of your grade is based on journal entries (which you have to show up to class to know what to write) a few simple papers and a very easy midterm. The final was a paper we wrote at home and turned in on the last day. Take him if you are looking for an easy A.

His class was very easy. He makes you write 4 essays that range about 2-3 pages and he reads mostly from the book (which I don't agree with reading to college students cause it insults their intelligence but that's his perogative). He doesn't make you stay the whole class and has good humor about things.

Excellent teacher!!! By far the best teacher I've ever had!! Class is pretty boring to sit through, but never kept us more then 45 minutes. For the most part yuour grade is made up of 4 essays that are very easy! Highly recommend this teacher!

you gotta read 4 stories,type 4 essays about what you thought.reads poems,asks you what you think.the midterm is a 4 page essay about a movie/book or whatever that was based on a real life person,you just have to write the similarities between the work and the person's life.thats it then you get your A

I had an aversion to MLA from a previous English professor who did not seem to realize that the class is not a graduate class and we were not going for our Ph.D. Since I took professor Murphy I no longer have an aversion to MLA! He's the perfect teacher for students who don't need to be babied the whole way through. He let's you do your thing and whenever you're finished and all clear on what's assigned you can leave class. Homework isn't collected until the end and your final is a paper with great topics to choose from, loved this class!

My first professor ever, and I loved him!! Awesome guy. Extremely gnerous when it comes to grading... and he usually let you write whatver you wanted for journals with the exception that he chose the topics :) I had him for summer term, and he gave me an A!!

Great teacher! Makes a subject I hate easy and interesting. Took him in the summer and work full-time and do not agree with the people that are saying he gave too many essays. It was several 1 page papers and one 4 page paper. Super laid-back and helpful.

Gotta say I did not expect such a good grade. I'm the type of person who waits for last minute to get ANYTHING and EVERYTHING done. Took him on winter class and it was a piece of cake. A lot of work overall, but hey, it's college class, even weight management will be tough, but if you do the work, you will pass.

Excellent method of teaching - rather than forcing you to write about something, the bulk of your grade comes from essays where you get to pick the subject. Very good for the student with a lot to say, or one who gets bored with one-size-fits-all writing prompts. You'll definitely improve your writing by taking this class.

Professor Bill is AMAZING. I was in ENC 1101 class (8 wk). as a student, FT worker and mother, it was very difficult for me to turn in a lot of things on time. Especially in the last days. I spoke with the Professor in person and expressed my concerns he emailed me and understood the one time I could not attend due to childcare issues.

Professor Murphy's class is excellent. Within the 8 week course there were only three papers to write with a topic of your choice. On the first day of class gives syllabus with all assignments and due dates, however Professor Murphy understands if an emergency occurs and pretty much gives the semester to complete assignments.

Although it is somewhat a lot work he gives pretty much the entire semester to complete all assignments. You would have to be very lazy not to pass his class. Wish more professor were like him.

This class was not very hard at all. He assigns work in the beginning but, he allows you to turn them in at anytime. He is understanding to work and family situations as well. He has a lot of extra credit and he makes a lot of jokes too. Just make sure you do the work. This class is great, you won't regret taking it.

I never thought I could find a such great teacher for ENC1102. He is a very humble, calm guy. I think anyone can pass his class with an A by putting a little amount of work (of course!). He's willing to help and his grading criteria is very clear!

Professor Murphy was my saving grace this semester. He really cares for his students. Show up to class and participate when he ask. Do your work and call it a day. Prof Murphy is the best, class always ends before time and he gives great feed back. there are a few quizzes on the readings but it's all online ;), and 3 essays. he also grades the outlines but they are only 10 points each.

I took professor Murphy for ENC1102 during the summer term. He always replied to all my emails and other inquiries the very same day I sent them. When we submitted our essays he gave us helpful feedback and gave us plenty of time to correct or rewrite our papers for a better grade. He is one of the best professors at BC, take him if you can!

He's a great professor. Although he is easy, you do become a better writer from him. In the beginning the work is tedious, but it becomes less and less as the semester goes on. He explains really well if you don't understand something, all his assignments are put on a syllabus so you know what to expect and can do work ahead of time, he accepts work for FULL credit up until the course ends, and he grades well with good feedback. If you want a better score on an essay you're able to redo.

Prof Murphy is by far the best professor ever. I enrolled in his ENC1101 and 1102 courses (online) and earned an A in both. The material is pretty straightforward. He asks for 3 Essays, an annotated bibliography, and 10 discussions which were not bad at all. He even accepted late work with no penalty. 10/10 no complaints. 100% recommended.

I had Professor Murphy for 1102 and he was great! Your grade is divided in discussion posts, papers, in-class activities, and annotated bibliography. He is not strict about due dates, you can send an assignment late and he will accept it. Overall he was a nice professor, just work on your papers and you will be fine.

The coursework includes 3 essays along with 10 discussion posts, but for the discussions, you are given an easy prompt and do not have to respond to others unless you need extra credit. The deadlines are fixed however he allows late work and if you get a bad grade he lets you resubmit. I definitely recommend him!

Professor Murphy was great. I took his 8-week ENC1102 class and it was very easy. Majority of his grading comes from essays, so be prepared to write often. The only negative I would say if he would typically end class very early. I would only have class for 20-30 minutes sometimes. It felt like a waste of gas. Overall though, good professor.

He is a really goof professor and very easy , the class is not hard at all and we only had 3 essays but that only because I took a 8 week class. We mainly do disscusions which are very easy overall he is great and very chill. If you are reading this you should definitely take his class. He also accepts late work . Take his class .
