It was a great class with a ton of conversations and opinion's from each student the only thing I would of liked better was a example blog write up on the syllabus to see what it fully expected from each one. But other then that a good class he always responded quickly and taught me a lot.

This class is great for anyone interested in learning more about psychology or who needs an elective course. The class is very much guided by the students and what we want to talk about. The work load is not heavy as long as you do your work on time. The professor is helpful in answering questions you may have. I would take this class again.

This class requires alot of dedication and time. Some online courses are designed for a go at your own pace. This is designed the same way with deadlines that have to be met but they are short deadlines with multiple things due on the first day of a deadline making it a very heavy workload. Set aside your schedule and hope nothing else is due.

He gave a lot of homework and quizzes were hard, but he was very fair and an overall great professor.

While you are going to find yourself working hard in this course Professor Pelz is also pretty straightforward as fas as what he wants. He is very quick to grade your assignments. Of the three classes I Tok this semester his was my favorite for a number of reason. Chief amongst them is that he he offers many opportunities to apply what you learn!

If you follow is instructions and what he expects and what you need to do and put forth you will not have any issues and concerns.

His grading is reasonable, he does not ask a lot from you as a student. The requirements are very straightforward as far as what you need to do in order to earn an A. And I will be honest, I had missed some discussion posts and I should still be ending this semester with an A+. Participate as you should, follow directions and it is easy to pass.

There are a lot of discussions in this online course and you have to follow his criteria on how many to reply to and big your post should be. As long as you do all that and get good grades on your quizzes you can earn an easy A+.

I love the organization of Mr. Pelz's online class. Hands down the best professor!!!! Any time I needed help with the online course he was right on point and I received answers in a timely matter. I would recommend Mr. Pelz to any student.

Great professor. My only thing would be to check his algorithms a few days before assignments start, or you could fall behind like I did. Once I got into the rhythm, it made planning ahead very easy and beneficial.

I really enjoyed his abnormal psych class! It is one of the most difficult classes I have taken at HCCC, but I also learned the most out of any of my classes in his class. He allows you space to focus on topics that interest you within the chapters. Most importantly, he is understanding and frequently available to answer your questions.

While the amount of work may appear to be intimidating once you get the hang of his class it is actually quite manageable. You also know exactly what to expect and what is expected of you. He is on top of things I can say with great certainty that Professor Pelz has certainly earned my respect!

It's work but an easy A if you are consistent. I started off with a rough semester because of a death in my family. I scheduled a meeting with the professor via video, he explained everything to me and I was okay from there. Professor Pelz is not here to judge you nor lecture you in a bad way, but only to help you.

Easy professor to have. Keep up to date with discussions and quizzes and you'll find yourself moving easily through class with an amazing grade.

Professor Pelz does give a lot of work that needs to be done. Also, participation is a must daily, and very particular on what needs attention on each day. Took his Developmental Psychology class. Overall the class was interesting, useful, and discussion-oriented. Read the online textbook chapters provided to you within the module instead of using the full thing (unless you decide to print it out). He is picky with deadlines and the rubric, but that is just to improve you as a student.

Professor Pelz has a tough syllabus to understand, but once you do, you will appreciate this course even more. It will give you more than just a credit in psychology. I was fine with the teaching style of the class as I prefer to work and learn at my own pace and truly understand what I am doing, so I can walk away knowing I learned something from the course. The material was conveyed clearly and was set up in an easy to navigate manner. Take note of due dates as assignments involve long term discussions.

The only thing that I thought seemed tough was the fact that we could only post twice per 24hr period. So if you couldn't post until later in the day and you were screwed until late the next night. That part was the main thing that I felt was slightly harsh and a little unfair.

Mr. Pelz is an amazing professor but you have to work really hard to get a good grade. There are lots of discussion posts! I did learn a lot though and enjoyed this class!

Professor Pelz actually is the reason that I am graduating this semester. I was planning on dropping the semester, as my wife gave birth right as school started and caused me to drop behind significantly. The professor encouraged me to get on track and that I still could succeed. Because of this, I am here and graduating.

He expects students to put time and effort in. So the course can be a bit time consuming and there is quite a bit to read. However, he is very fair and the course is not what I would consider particularly difficult. He let's you have a lot of control of the topics you focus on which I really enjoyed and found beneficial.

I have now taken a few classes with Professor Pelz. The criteria is pretty much the same for all classes, and if you follow directions and do your work, it is an easy grade. He is very understanding and always willing to help. His classes require effort, very discussion-heavy, but none of the work is hard. Do your work, and you'll be just fine.

A little confusing getting started/learning the setup of the class. Multiple assignments overlap, without good time management skills this class will be difficult to keep up with. Discussion posts are required every 24 hours so you kind of need a set time each day you work on this classwork. With good scheduling this class is not difficult.

The students are the teachers, we learned different views of each student, and discussed important topics that helped us look at society with opened eyes.

The class work itself was not hard, but the amount that you had to do was more than I was use to. I think that the course is set up well because you get to teach yourself and put your own thoughts into each assignment and choose the topic from a wide range of options. Once you get the hang of the class, it is easier to follow the pattern.

When I first saw the syllabus, I was nervous I was not going to pass this class because it was a lot. As long as you submit original work and complete all of your assignments on time you will get an A in this class.

Different type of class for myself. I was unsure in the beginning what Prof. Pelz wanted from us/myself. He was easily reachable and told me flat out exactly how he was. Once I understood that, and made sure I kept on top of the course schedule, everything else was a breeze.

Professor Pelz's online Cultural Anthropology course uses a student led instructional model. There is a decent amount of reading involved, but the class discussions and participation are heaviest requirement. Be prepared to write, but don't worry if you're not the best writer.

The professor taught well. The course material clearly explained the things that I needed to learn. The tests and other assignments were graded fairly and had clear outlines on how they were graded so I was able to know what I had to do. This was a very intense course that I think kept me on track every day. This course will consist of you completing work every day, so if you are not okay with that do not take it. At first, I was scared of the amount of work assigned although it is completely manageable.

There is a lot of reading and writing that will be done in this class. You also need to make sure you have a decent amount of time set aside to be able to complete work. But overall this was a great class.

Got access to the textbook for free which was great, and he answered questions quickly, even though it was a totally online class. Participation is important and impacts your grade, so you need to log on most days.

Professor Pelz has clear and descriptive instructions and rubrics for every assignment. I took his class at Genesee asynchronously, so the course involved many discussion posts and replies. A tip I recommend is to prepare your future replies if you are unavailable the next day. He used a free e-textbook. The exams were a short quiz every chapter.

His class is actually very interesting. Assignments have taught me so much about every day life and I society beyond behaviors but as a human being myself, I realize how much I have to open up my eyes because of this class and because of this professor.

Throughout this course I had to do a lot of outside research from credible sources. The topics were always interesting so I never found it to be an issue. Participation with classmates through the discussions is mandatory and a large portion of your grade which makes you still feel like you're in an academic environment.

Professor Pelz has a clear view of the course in the syllabus with all the due dates. It is important to follow the syllabus and check it because the class moves by fast and the due dates are not listed on the GO calendar like all the other classes so it is easy to forget stuff is due.

So good about grading criteria and rubrics and what he expected from us. He graded things so quickly and was also really good about getting back to you if you had any questions and wasn't too strict on late work and stuff. Would totally take it again. The most confusing part of this class was the schedule. after that the class was great.

At the beginning of this sociology course i was annoyed by the amount of daily work required, and the variance of different assignments to be done. But, once i settled into a pattern with everything i came to truly enjoy the course and to take in and retain more than most courses i took online. Also the provided learning materials were fantastic.

Is a class based on writing and participating in discussions. Theres a lot of reading but not so much that it's unbearable. The class is pretty easy you just have to participate, one of the easiest classes throughout my year and a half here. It is hard at first but gets easier as time goes on as the class is all in the same format.

This was an online course and all that was required was clearly listed at the beginning of the semester including the due dates for assignments and what was required to get a certain grade. The professor allowed you to retake quizzes once for a chance at a better grade. As long as you put in the work you are able to get the grade you work for.

He's a pretty lassez-faire teacher, the class was very student involved, where we did a lot of the discussion. I enjoyed the class, and I found myself quite involved.

I actually really enjoyed this class as I liked the discussions with other class mates on the chapters we read and the other things we had to write. It wasn't difficult work, but there was a lot to do, and sometimes it was hard to get stuff done as I had a busy schedule. The whole class was great and I am glad that I took it.

This is the second class of his I have taken, and it is very participation-based. As long as you are participating in all of the discussions, and following the criteria for the assignments it's not difficult to get a high grade. If someone needs help there are plenty of opportunities to get feedback from the professor. Overall good experience

When you first receive the course schedule, it's going to seem very overwhelming; don't let it scare you. Print our the schedule, set reminders, and simply follow all the rubrics, which he posts for you; if you do that, you will be fine :)

The course involves self-directed learning using discussion forums and assignments. Course instructions are very clear and the professor is always available for any questions. The course teaches a lot of interesting topics. If you stay on top of the due dates, you'll do well.

This class seems to be a lot the first week, but it is actually pretty simple to understand, and you quickly get used to the rhythm.

Professor Pelz required a heavier workload than the other classes I took online. I learned a lot in his class and enjoyed the participation. It's essential that you understand his guidelines for participation early in the semester, as it will affect your grade. I'd highly recommend his class to others!

He clearly communicates his expectations to students from the onset of class, although the initial workload may seem overwhelming; however, he provides guidance and support to help students establish a productive learning rhythm. While there was a lot more that was required compared to other classes, the work you're given and the amount of time you get for each assignment was generous enough to be able to work at it in your own pace. He encourages you to do your own research and chat with your fellow classmates, which creates an engaging environment.

Professor Pelz is a great instructor. It may seem like a lot of work, but in reality, he lays out your due dates and gives more than enough time for assignments to get done. If you follow his course schedule, you should have no problems with his class. He is also very easy to reach if you have any questions.

Professor Pelz is an amazing instructor. You get the grade you deserve if you follow his class course and everything you need to do you will have no issues passing this course. It does seem like a lot but it is doable. I took two of his courses this semester and had no issues getting the work in.

This professor responds to emails in a timely manner. He is easily approachable and patient. He will not get upset if you ask for clarification on a topic, you don't understand. Be prepared to read a lot for this class but as long as you do the assignments and on time, you will succeed.

Professor Pelz classes are some of the best classes I have taken. He is very quick with grading which is amazing, and even replies back with feed back. Not a lot of teachers do that anymore. If you do have questions and or concerns and email him, about these concerns, he is great with getting back to you in a good time frame.

Professor Pelz is an encouraging professor. He provides helpful feedback, and the way that he teaches his class allows the student to discover what he or she is most interested in. We write blogs instead of essays, which helped me find my voice for writing essays in my other classes.

My psychology professor was knowledgeable and organized. The course was well-structured, with clear expectations. They provided helpful resources and were responsive to questions. The assignments were challenging but manageable, and the discussions encouraged thoughtful engagement. Overall, a great learning experience!

This professor's classes do have a lot of work, but the work is relatively easy, so it is not impossible. The set up makes it easy to keep up participation and attendance. It is important to pay attention to the due dates given and make sure you do work on the number of days required.

The professor did a great job with the course. He was a very quick grader which alleviates any anxiety that some students might have to find out what their grades are. The class discussions, although there are a lot of them, allow students to connect and talk about the different topics they learn throughout the course.

This class started off hard but once I got the hang of everything it was super easy. 10/10 class would take again. Recommend!

Pretty easy class, some assignments were due really close together and discussions overlapped which was difficult but the grading criteria and due dates were given very clearly.

This professor makes sure that you're attending each online discussion post because he requires 7 replies in each post, and they have to be on separate days, so he knows you're coming back each day.

There was a lot of work which required something to be done almost everyday, but if you do the work it's not too hard and all you have to do is do it to pass.

Very easy class to take as long as you read the textbook chapters that are assigned and participate in the discussions its an easy A. Professor gives a very clear schedule and grading criteria. I would definietly take a class with him again.

This course contained a lot of writing and replies. It is not difficult work, but it can be fairly time-consuming. I think that the rubrics were very clear and helpful, and the professor graded everything quickly and fairly.

This professor gives clear expectations in the syllabus. You have to put in work almost every day. Some assignments, such as discussion replies, take about 30 minutes. Other assignments may take a couple hours. As long as you put in the work, you'll ace this class.

Great class, just requires a lot of participation that is 50 percent of your grade.

He's very detailed in what he wants you to do so its to hard to fail as long as you follow the rubrics.

I only took one class with this professor. So long as each post and topic was acceptable and added educational value to the course or discussions it was a fair system. With the established rubrics you always saw why you got the grade you did. Frequent multi-day participation was necessary for passing or exemplary grades. I received little feedback.

You will learn lots, but be prepared to do the work.

I would say this class is very easy, professor grades fairly. We had to read chapter at least 2-3 times a week. We had to do discussions that where fairly easy and also very interesting. We needed to do 7 replies to student to get credit. We did this for every chapter, and every unit we did a 750-word Internet resource review, and 1000 words blog.

The course load may seem like a lot but with time management it's really not a hard thing to manage and can be fully understood.

I think some students may find this course especially challenging in the beginning. However, once you get use to the expectations and how things are graded, it becomes easier to manage. Be sure you manage your time correctly as well for discussion participation.

very inspirational and understanding

At first, I was uneasy taking this course. I assumed that Professor Pelz would be extremely tough on grading due to the expected work load. Come to find out it just looked worse on paper than it actually was and he is one of the most understanding professors I have come across.

Intentionally, I didn't know what to expect just from the course name, and then when I read the syllabus, I thought about withdrawing. But I am so glad I didn't. I left this class with something priceless. If you plan and make sense of your time, you can do it, and I encourage anyone to take this course. Professor Pelz, thank you for everything!

Professor Pelz is such a great instructor. ANT102 was a little hard at the beginning, but once I got the hang of how class worked, it was a breeze. I had a blast, and I would love to study under him again!

I feel like I learned much from his class. I would have liked a little more constructive criticism. His grading is really straight forward, easy to understand what he expects of you. You have to participate.

Professor Pelz is a great teacher admirably shows no mercy in delivering an entire semester into 4 weeks. It was both challenging and rewarding to balance this course with life duties. His teaching style is strict but fair. I had an engaging class. My only wish was that I wish I had more time to dedicate to responding to reflective blogs.

Professor Pelz made expectations clear at the beginning of the course and used those set expectations to grade assignments. There is a heavy focus on discussions with classmates to learn the topic, along with readings in the built in textbook, as opposed to many tests or quizzes.

The course will take up a lot of time and sometimes will be difficult. You are expected to do your work on your own, but the class is very worth every minute. If you don't know something, ask the professor hi is very helpful and helps you find the best way to do things and when to do things.

Great professor who gives a clear work and course outline that is manageable.

I took this class online in 12 weeks. The workload is heavy with constant discussion posts, which was tough while working and parenting. Clear instructions help, and grading is fair, but staying on top of deadlines is key. Once you get the rhythm, it's manageable but definitely not easy. I think in-person instruction might be better for this class

I enjoyed my online class with Mr. Pelz a lot! The material was not super difficult, and the work load wasn't too heavy. The only thing was the discussions were due daily, so if you have a busy schedule that can be difficult. Professor Pelz responded to emails and questions very quickly, and had a very clear grading rubric which was super helpful!

At the start, I was a bit overwhelmed with some of the workload and understanding how I needed to tackle things. After a while however, it got easier and more compensable, so just keep your head up and push forward!

Course is fast-paced, professor expects adherence to deadlines but also seems to be pretty flexible if things happen to prevent those deadlines being met.

Pretty hands off but if there is any confusion and I have a question he answer right away. I know what I have to each week and when it is due so I can remain organized. The assignments are reasonable and fun. I enjoyed discussions with my classmates and having freedom to choose a resource based off the topic of the module.

Could not recommend this class highly enough. It requires a lot of participation in terms of discussions and posts, but deadlines, due dates and expectations on assignments are all incredibly clear and well presented, so there's no surprises.

Professor Pelz teaches good classes, he makes it impossible for you to not get something out of each chapter. I have taken a couple of his classes and would gladly take another one. I would highly recommend Professor Pelz.

The structure of the class is very rigid. There is little room for error since you must submit discussion posts five out of seven days every week. Only two posts are accepted each day even though there are multiple posts due.
