The best prof at York. His classes are clear and interesting.
Don't let his appearance fool you. This guy is the ****.
Outstanding lecturer, great notes and fair tests!
Three words: Chemistry Magic Show
He is the best professor i've ever had in the uni
he is brilliant in science and somehow taught me I still remember alot from his class and I can't that for many other courses.
Simply the best professor at York.
one of my best profs! lectures are fun, tests are fair. Very funny & knowledgable guy!!!
He's so amazing, one of the best profs at york...loved his classes
amazing prof!!!!!!!!!
coolest guy ever!! chemistry magic show haha!!
The best)))!!!!!!!!!
He is a kickarse prof...
my best prof so far. made everything so intersting!!! he's the coolest prof ever
He did make the class fun and interesting, but so wat, he's a hard prof. He expects everyone to know the previous yr's chem courses material and put them on tests without reviewing those materials in class. His notes are all over the place and very random. They didn't help me to study for tests. My grade from his chem class is so far the lowest.
i havent had him for so long yet, however he is by far the best prof i have this year. he is very intelligent and fun to listen to :)
This guy thinks that everyone already knows all about chemistry. Very disorganized. He is trying to teach one year's worth of material in ONE SEMESTER! Very hard to learn much in this class. Don't take this class with this Prof.
He is like the coolest prof you can ever have for chemistry! He'd tell you all these funny jokes and make the class so interesting. He knows his chemistry very very well. He inspires me in chemistry!!! Go Pietro!!!
he's a good teacher, it would be nice if he used powerpoint though, it's hard to see the board. it would also be nice if he used the microphone! but a nice guy!
Not very organized in class. Does not explain well in class. He writes on the chalk board which makes it hard to see. Has no web postings and is impossible to get in contact with b/c he does not check his emails. His one good point is he is a funny guy with a good personality.
He is the best prof you can get for first year chemistry. You are lucky to have him. He has made chemistry so much easier to understand for those who have had to take this course numerous times because of other professors. If you don't understand it with him, you're not doing the work!
he's a very nice prof. the tests aren't that difficult if you study, but there will always be some hard question that will be impossible to figure out! overall, a good prof.
peitro's the man
hard tests
hey is the greatest professor ever! amazingly intelligent jokes esp the one with electron spin lol :D makes chem sooo much fun.
Definitely an OG gangsta. Tests range from easy-fair. He should do part-time stand up.
Awesome prof, and funny as hell.
This prof is amazing! The best prof you could probably get in your first year, very intelligent and funny. His lectures are a must attend. Tests are not hard if you study for them.
screwed us on the 3rd test, right before the drop date.
He know one statement"LETS DO A PROBLEM FOR FUN!" The worst prof you could possibly have. he is so disorganized..and his lectures are all over the place. The test are nothing like the lectures or the book. He thinks he is the God of Chemisty...Take him if you want to fail or want to hate chemistry for the rest of your life!
Best chem prof i've ever had!He actually wants you to understand chemistry. His lectures are fun but goes at a very fast pace . Miss one lecture and you're screwed.
This prof is highly intelligent and is freakin hilarious. Guy co-wrote a chemistry textbook when he was 20! All that aside, his tests for the most part is pretty damn hard, He teaches us as if we know all there is to chemistry. Don't be surprised if he starts talking about organic chem. Overall very entertaining prof
Tests are very hard.
This prof teaches very fast.
Awesome Teacher... Jokes around and makes lectures quick and interesting... the tests are alrite but they get harder...
Wow, amazing teacher. Knows everything there is to know about Chem. Mad Funny. His tests are easy if you just spend a day or two doing all the questions in the text. I wish he was teaching Chem 1001 as well.
The prof is amazingly funny and intelligent! He actually knows his stuff really well! But better study a week in advance before quizzes..and most of his quizzes are based on lecture notes and info he covered. make sure u attend all his lectures! (or you're screwwweeeddd for his quizzes/next lessons)
he is a great prof and he will definately the class interesting. just make sure you study the parts he did not spend much time teaching
Very good prof. Kept the class constantly moving, but also had time to joke around and have fun. Material was very clearly presented and tests were moderately easy, though there were some twists. Didn't breeze past explanations, and took the time to answer the classes questions if there were any. Great guy.
Awesome Prof... that all I need to say... He was just AWESOME.
explains material very clearly. And it is actually fun coming to the lecture!!!
awesome!
i dont usually do this kinda thing, but pietro made me love chem after hating it because of my highschool teacher, hes interesting/interested in what he does. hes a master at what he does, brilliant, funny and grabs your attention, best prof at york u.
Great chemistry jokes but also Great chemistry lectures. Everything is explained well and in such a way that you enjoy the class and want to learn what he is teaching.
Incredibly passionate about chemistry, he definately loves his work. Excellent professor, but class moves lighting fast. Labs are a little hard but very doable. Tests were very hard.
The best prof!
A funny but extremely hard prof, who seems OMG stubborn!!! His lect. r the "best" in terms of keeping u entertained but(WARNING)not UNDERSTOOD! & if u ask him any questions,1st makes u narvous,2nd when u ask makes u feel stupid and 3rd u STILL don't get it!!!!I had the BEST INTEREST in taking the course, he made it HELL for me!!!I regrate!!!! 8(
hilarious prof. made chemistry fun. can be a little confusing for those not familiar with chem. he's very open to questions. passion for teaching and a true love for chem. he even said himself that he wanted science to be interesting not hard. have fun!!
Really funny prof, loved all of his lectures, espically his stories. Tests were fair. He loves what he does & good at it. Hope I have him in future courses.
Great prof. Made lectures fun and entertaining. If you don't stay on your toes though, you'll get left behind. He goes pretty fast and expects you to know your stuff. He's really helpful and shows that he really loves teaching. His tests aren't the easiest but they're pretty decent. If you can get a course with him take it!!!
The material of this course is overlapping a lot with gr.12 High School chemistry and still, what a difference! One day he seemed to be late for the lecture and I was thinking "oh my god, what if we're gonna have a supply?!!! I want to see Pietro teaching!":) If you get a chance - take is class. His tests are fair and not that hard if you study.
"so hows it bout we do a problem"!! Amazing chemistry professor. extremely bright. his lectures are very interesting but beware of his quizzes, they tend to be a little difficult.
CRAZY PROF
i am not going to lie.. i hate chemistry.. but having him as a prof actually made me get up and go to chem class... i always thought that his Intelligence was above the level of education he was teaching... when i listen to him i am overwhelmed at how well he knows his stuff and beyong...
Absolutely amazing prof. Tends to repeat himself a bit, tells the same story a few times but amazing! So nice and funny! easy marker. Favourite professor at York!
a prof with an amazing personality and excellent teaching. you will be drawn into his fascinating stories with a twist of chemistry..very cool.
best profff ever. he KNOWS his stuff and loves what hes doing. tests are challenging and even though you may not get an A or B (hehe) you will learn ALOTTTTT.
Makes the class very interesting. Easy to follow in class if you hve previous knowledge. First 2 test were quite challenging but the last 2 are jokes. Overall he is a great proffesor.
Really fun Prof! I'm not a chemistry person, but he kept me interested with jokes (although repeated often without realizing it) and stories (he wrote a short play about chemicals in the brain and how they interact with one another as if they were characters).Keep up with the work, he assumes you know it. Study-tests can be difficult. Recommended!
great proffessor, very intersting...very easy.
He is an extremely engaging professor, who really gave quite enjoyable lectures. The class itself was somewhat challenging, but he was truly interested in providing students with an education and was open to giving assistance after hours.
Fantastic prof! great lecturer, fair tests, approachable, funny and interesting. The tests get easier as the course moves on so don't be discouraged. TAKE HIS CLASS
first test was horrible, but after that the course was good. he's a good prof and explains things well
I love this guy, he is the best! He always says "I love chemestry, let's have some FUN!". The funny thing is, he made me love chemestry too,wow
Awesome professor! He makes class interactive and not boring. He walks around the lecture hall to say hi to students randomly. Fair, easy, quite clear with his lessons. overall, just a good professor and its worth sitting through the whole lecture =)
Great professor. Is very humorous and manages to make chemistry interesting. I would actually look forward to his classes. His tests are fair, and you will do well if you study.
His tests will make u CRYYYY!!! 50% of the time he doesnt talk about things that are related to the course..he is a smart prof but taking his class was a waste of money..if you love chem..you wont anymore after taking his class..if he finds out that his students failed a test then the next day he laughs and makes fun of the students and he tries to
BEST TEACHER EVER. SUPER INTERESTING
Pietro is a GOD. His tests are fair and fun. Ignore all the negative reviews, they are just imbecilic psychology students and don't care about science like us chem major do:).But seriously, you are going to get your money's worth if you choose Pietro."A question well stated,is a question half solved" W.J.Pietro
he is an awesome prof. he knows how to get the class's attention and to control the class. it's true his tests were a bit unfair, in terms of not letting us know earlier, but if you wanna have fun learning chemistry, he is the man..! I can't believe i am saying this, but I think I'll actually miss him, looking forward to more of his lectures!
Very interesting lectures, always keeps your attention and makes funny jokes; tests may be somewhat difficult for those who aren't good at math; VERY helpful and approachable - will spend hours talking to students on any topic; actually CARES about your education, and tries to help you learn; SCIENCE TRIVIA OF THE WEEK! w00t!
Really intelligent and helpful..damn..he knew abt every single aspects of sciences
A dedicated, enthusiastic and caring prof with a great personality. Classes are very interesting and never boring. You actually learn a lot in his class. Tests may seem a bit tricky, but overall they're alright if you work hard. Recommended!
has good attitude, helpful....but tests r hard...u can manage a B if u work hard.....
one of my best profs. his lectures were clear i really enjoyed his lecuters. u cant manage without goin to his lectures. his tests were ok, all questions were easy except one that had to be tricky specially in the first 2 tests. last 2 tests were very easy. also the exams was not that hard. as any course u cant get an A without studying hard.
Awesome Prof!! He applies chemistry to all aspects of life and makes you think about how we get these equations and why it is so (especially in the Electrons in Atoms chapter). His tests are really good so long as you pay attention in his lectures and do the readings. If you can understand the underlying principles you'll do fine.
Awesome! Made me love Chem. The best Teacher out there.
greatest teacher ever
His lectures are very interesting and fun. He gives something to laugh about in every lecture. He loves chemistry and loves to teach it to others.
amazingly interesting prof...it made me sad wen i missed a lecture. Hes very approachable for help and clarification. Does tons of examples...LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN! You have to Do your work, hes very fair though. All in all a very worth while experience.
the best prof in every way possible except for the fact that his tests are exceptionally difficult. He is an amazing person and really brings the material to life in class
He is an awesome prof!! Very interesting classes.
okay everyone listen.. YES he is an amazing teacher becuse he is very passionate about what he teaches.. you will learn a lot.. BUT his tests are HARD! definitely not fair on tests.. too many questions and not enough time.. but overall.. GOOD guy!. soo if you want to learn take his class.. if you want a high mark.. DO NOT take his class!
His lectures are very interesting, he knows how to keep the class's attention, every lecture he has little funny & interesting stories to tell... BUT his TEST are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT... still he takes Chem very seriously and he's easy to approach for answers
Dr. Pietro is an excellent prof. He makes lectures very interesting and he is very helpful. You have to be caring and work really hard in order to get a decent mark in his class. I am glad that I was in his class for chemistry and I am looking forward to have more classes with him.
The best prof at York university. Can't even tell how sad (almost crying) i'm because the semester is almost over, and he is not gonna lecture any of my courses anymore. His tests are extremely hard (especially the first 2) but if you study well and do everysignle question in the textbook twice, then you'll get a decent mark. Made me understand and
GREAT Prof. EXTREMELY HARD tests. Great lecturer. fun. but study alot or you'll fail miserably.
He gives really hard tests which are more in the application of the material as suppose to just memorizing the steps. But he gives REALLY good lectures and he makes things a bit interesting
He is a good prof, interesting to listen to he makes lectures interesting and doesnt bore you good sense of humor. but his tests are difficult all based on application, hard to get a high mark YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR STUFF WELL
Yes it is true that his lectures are amazing. But if you are a PreMed Candidate then you require a better mark and cannot afford to pretend that you will be majoring in Chemistry for the time being while you are in Pietro's Course. DO NOT TAKE IT if you need the marks. NOTE: For the year 08-09 his first 2 test avg was 27% one of my friends had him.
in this passed fall term, there has been so much frustration about how his tests are impossible. i agree with alll the positive comments, he is a great prof, he is VERY helpful.. but unless you take his course seriously and make a strong initiative in seeking help, stray away, pietro will eat you alive.
Amazing prof. I plan to do my research project with him. He is willing to help, very clear when explaining concepts. The tests are hard but you really learn a lot. His speeding story is legendary!
Great prof, the only thing is that his tests are excruciatingly hard. The best thing to do is try hard in his class, and GO TO ALL OF HIS LECTURES. you won't find a better chem lecture ANYWHERE. If you still fail, drop the course and take it again. If you remember a quarter of what he taught, you'll ace any other prof's course.
Very intersting professor to encounter in first year. I agree with all of the positive comments made below. First test was extremely difficult, but you can barely pass it. Second test was better (do-able). Third test was simple, in relation to the other 2 tests. Final Exam was fair. Great prof to listen to, especially his stories.
He is a talker, doesn't teach. His tests are hard, and the notes are useless.
he is an enjoyable and entertaining prof but teaching wise, he is sooooo HARD. He basically teaches thinking that everyone in the class is a scientists and hsi tests are a major killer! if you intend to take his class you better be a chemist! you better be prepared otherwise you will bomb the course!
Great teaching, notes, everything. Efficient, inspiring. HOT - never fell asleep in his class. Tests were fair.
Very funny and interesting. Actually made me look forward to attending class. Relatively clear; for the most part you'll only need the textbook for the practice problems. First two tests were pretty hard, last two really easy. The labs bring most people's marks up and he bellcurves. Highly recommended, overall.
He is a very cool guy who loves teaching but beware of his tests! Any upper year TA will tell you he has the hardest tests! If you want an A in this course better transfer to another section!
His tests are ridiculously hard. Transfer to a different section if you want an A or above. His first test always starts with an impossible question so watch if your about to take his course. The other sections just by looking at their tests you can tell are much easier. He does bell curve, but only because the class averages are incredibly low.
He's probably one of the best lecturers at york. He's tests ate hard. They focus on hardcore application. Understand the concepts and you'll be alright tho. I got an A in Mirza's class because I understood most of the material from his class.
Pietro is an awesome person and teacher with a few "buts".He's extremely passionate about chemistry and teaching but at the same time I get a feeling that he doesn't give a damn about the course. Finished the course 1-2 weeks early? A show off, writes quant chem stuff that no one understands and says it's cool. Coulda taken the 2 weeks to teach it.
He is one of the most enjoyable profs at York. His personality will make you WANT to come to class. The only problem is that his tests are KILLER!! Our class average was always at least 10% less than all of the other sections. In the end, if you want to have fun, take his class. If you want a good grade, then don't.
awsome proff, motivates you to learn, i hated chem before this class and he made me love it. got an A because i was eazy to pay attention and when your paying attention its eaasy to learn..one of the best courses in my opinion
Pretty awesome prof. Okay I admit at first the first test was EXTREMELY difficult. :| But once you get over that test you get to know how his quiz works. And hes pretty funny too. BUT YOU HAVE TO STUDY. your ass off. :)
Pietro is a one of a Kind Chemistry professor. He'll teach the material rather than skim through it. He's great! Every lecture is interesting with him!
Overall excellent. His first test is hard for the ones who used to rely on the "just-sub-it-in" strategy from highschool. It's easy if you have the clear logical connections on the topics you are taught. His lectures are enjoyable and clear, but often too fast to digest it on the spot. You will probably need quite of intensive independent studying.
At 1st you'll be intimidated & think 2x about taking the course but Dr Pietro gives great advice on achieving success-he's the reason I stuck with the course. Audible/understandable, funny, educational-he's a great lecturer & applies the knowledge in real life examples. Hands down, the best prof I've had at York. Wish he taught more courses.
great lecturer, very engaging, and makes lots of connections to how the concepts he teaches may be used outside the classroom. very passionate about his subject and has lots of great stories. BUT, his tests are -MUCH- harder than those of the other chem sections. if you're more concerned about marks rather than learning anything, avoid his class.
TAKE THIS COURSE. Period.3031 is the most interesting course you will take at York U. You will learn so much (MO, Isolobal, HSAB, electrochem).3030 with Prof. Stynes was brutal to say the least, but do not let your bitter experiences in that course turn you away from the wonderful world of Inorganic Chemistry. 'Bill' Pietro is just amazing.
AMAZING. you hear me? AMAZING. i sat in his class paralyzed. It felt like he was talking just to you. He is so passionate and extremely clear. solves examples in class. answers questions (but make sure its not a stupid one because he gets mad....). FUNNY, SMART, KNOWLEDGEABLE. TAKE HIM. you won't regret it. trust me. I LOVE HIM. LIKE ACTUALLY...
Out of the 3 chem 1000/1001 profs he is the best... his tests are easier compared to the other profs. I was getting really low at hasties class... now I'm getting As
He is very enthusiastic about his teaching, he is funny and interesting to listen to. I found his tests to be easier than other profs' and I ended up doing really well.
Pietro is the best! Really tries to make his lectures fun. Tests were easy, and he's a really nice guy. Only class I was actually enthusiastic about attending.
just switch, best advise for students who want to get A
the tests are unbelievably hard and the time is very short.
worst teacher..so cocky..thinks hes the best!! tests are so hard especially first two!!!! dont take it with him or you will do awful!!!
Professor Pietro is the best! :)You have put in a lot of effort, but you will learn a lot:)
This guy is a genius and such an amazing speaker...always entertaining....but his tests are so difficult and hes the most difficult chem prof at york
THE best prof. If you actually care for getting good grades and are an 80s student, you should get an A. I don't like chem much but I looked forward to every class because he makes it interesting an simple. His tests make you apply the concepts. Everyone bombs the first test so dont get discouraged; lab marks will bring you up & tests get easier
Insightful, humorous but honestly, his quizzes are much more harder in comparison to other sections- and it doesn't get any easier than the first quiz. I have never felt so stupid in my life ):
He is an incredible professor but there is definitely truth to what other students say about his tests. They get easier for sure, as long as you study hard you will do well. If there's anything you don't understand, he'll explain it to you. If you don't like to work for your grade, don't take it
He teaches amazing! My suggestion is to take another prof's class, so you get their easy tests but go to pietros lectures!!!
an amazing speaker who keeps you interested the whole time. he makes chemistry to come to life and i enjoyed every minute of his class. his tests are harder than others but if you study well, you can do fine.
amazing teacher, only first test is hard but the rest is easy, finished with an A and got 30% on first test! absolutely love this guy
test are very hard, unless you study and understand every minsicule concept in the textbook. he knows his stuff, and teaches fine but thats it. you seems to think you understand the material but when studying independently, none of it comes through.LOTS of studying required, more then expected for a first year course.
At the beginning of this class, i thought I would have to drop it because I got a 55 on the first test. Once you figure out how to study for his tests, it's actually a fair class. There is definitely a bellcurve at the end, no matter what they tell you. Pietro is probably the best prof I've had at york so far and he's extremely approachable
heaven only knows how i passed this course. i loved pietro. he's a wonderful teacher very enthusiastic. loved going for lectures. but he's tests are on a whole other spectrum. even when you study, you would not be prepared. he expects you to understand a lot, not just know it. he may think a topic is basic knowledge but we dont know it
Lectures are good, he always has funny stories, and he's good about controlling the class. But, you could attend every lecture, tutorial, lab, and read the textbook cover to cover, and you still won't be prepared for his tests. Exam was much easier than the term tests though.
He doesn't only teach material you need to know for this course, but teaches you ways of learning and methods of thinking. The most important concept is 'UNDERSTAND FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES'. If you perfectly understand the basics, you can solve any problem guaranteed. I scored a mid 70 average on tests, 96 on exam. Take Pietro. Finished A.
This guy was a BOSS. He was the most amazing lecturer ever. Only the first test was difficult, the course gets easier and it's fairly easy to get an A but you're required to work for it, just like any other class. He was my favorite prof and I wished he taught organic chemistry. I highly recommend his class if you have a passion for chemistry
He is a great a proff. But definitely his tests are the hardest. The first test is the hardest and after that they get easier. The exam was fair. Don't be too stressed. If u put hard work u'll get a good mark. I failed the first test but I finished the course with an A (Studied hard). And they bell curve the marks at the end.
Very tough exams, but he is honestly a GOD in chemistry. Pay attention, work hard and you will get the A. I failed the first exam and still got an A, with a little help from the bell curve.
He is the bet chem proff at york. I loved his lectures eventhough I slept though some of them lol..But A is definitly attainable as long as u write everything he writes on the board. He does ALOT of sample question on board. And there are no surprises in his test but they are challenging. I barely passed the first test but still ended with an A
Best lecturer ever. Very smart guy. Never fell asleep in his class because he's so good. First test was kinda hard, last two were a piece of cake. Fair exam. Just have to use your brain on the tests and you should get an A/A+.
He's a great professor. I honestly enjoyed going to his class. His lectures are understandable, but he can only help you in tutorials if you actually review the chapter and did questions. First test was hardest!
He is really a good professor, and it seems that he is so interesting about what he is teaching. His exams are a little bit hard, but I hope I will get an A at least this semester. ^^
Pros: knows his subject inside out. can answer virtually any question you have. rather entertaining and serious lecturer. Cons: can be a bit abrasive/inpatient at times, tests are probably too difficult for a first year class, although the bell curve keeps it proportionate in the end.
He's a great prof, and is amazing at explaining every concept you will need to know. My advice, just go to EVERY lecture, listen, and copy down the examples he does in class. Also, for each midterm I had, i did two of his previous midterms (not from other profs...you waste time and effort) and i found that extremely helpful. Hands down, great prof.
Honestly; he may seem tough during the first unit (gases)- but that's the hardest unit of the class. I was tempted to switch out of his class while teaching it but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's not easy but he's an AMAZING lecturer and he makes chemistry really interesting. TAKE HIS CLASS! If you do the textbook q's and attend class you're set.
This professor has to be my all time favourite. He makes the course interesting and he has a sense of humour. Face it, it' s chemistry, it's going to take work to build up a good mark. He knows his material extremely well and explains perfectly. Read textbook and do questions before class and attend every class as the classes are VERY HELPFUL.
Honestly, this man is a god in chemistry, he really knows what he's talking about when he teaches. Very intelligent, very clear, very personable. I'm not going to lie this class is not easy, but after the first test which is by far the hardest, if you prepare well, the second and third tests should be better. Also attending lectures is important!!
"this couse is hard" ...... it's a first year university chemistry course, this is to be expected. so ignore the people who complain about this course. attend all of the lectures and listen in class very well. pietro's an awesome prof, and if you go through the practice examples he does in class, and do PIETRO'S previous tests, you'll do well.
A very funny, intelligent prof. Best lectures - you'll rarely ever be bored listening. Tests are a bit difficult; labs help boost your mark, and more than ever: the amount of homework exercises you do REALLY determines your mark. If you're determined, you can get that A by working well. His office hours are also helpful.
Pietro is awesome!! Really great professor who makes every lecture fun and exciting. I was never bored in his lectures and leaving them made me sad. My favourite class by far. Explains things very well and is very helpful. First test was difficult the second and third were easier. Reading the textbook along with attending lecture is a must.
Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction! Biggest mistake taking his class. He is funny and has interesting lectures but it is confusing. He makes you feel dumb for asking questions usually. HIS TESTS ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD. Expect a very very low class average. I taught myself everything from the textbook.
He's a solid chemistry professor. You will hear a lot of people complain about his class, and I understand why, he's not easy. BUT, that being said, he explains things well, and he makes the course interesting. The first test is super hard, the second and third a bit more manageable. Study hard and GO TO EVERY CLASS!! and you should be alright
His tests are hard but he is LITERALLY THE BEST PROF EVER. His lectures are very interesting and he is really good at explaining concepts.
Amazing prof. Lectures were exciting. But his tests were very hard.
The most enlightening, inspiring and enthusiastic proff I ever had. He will change the way you look at chemstry and life. After his class you will be deferent, you will start believing that science is real not a mystery.
no one can explain concepts in chemistry better than him. the only hard thing about his tests are being able to do them in 50 minutes the actual questions themselves are somewhat hard.
he is a very good prof when it comes to making the topic interesting and explaining over all concepts. I also liked that he went over example question from textbook. HOWEVER, his midterms are insanely difficult! the exam was a piece of cake compared to the midterms, so your exam mark will probably boost your mark up by a lot.
Pietro is the best chem prof in york. i found his tests extremely fair and easy as i prepared a lot. warning if you study 1 week before his tests, do not expect anything more than 60%. you need to do all the past paper questions and every end of chapter question from the book. very interesting prof and very helpful too & wants you to improve.
Fair professor, very passionate about the course.. love how he tries to make the most boring subject interesting
He's a good prof, but his tests are hard. Do not study a week before, you're only gonna get a minimum of 60. He always stresses that we need to "understand the fundamentals" so basically you need to read through the textbook before you attempt any practice questions. This will take time but if you have the motivation to study then you'll be fine :)
Don't take chem with him!!! I heard he was better than the other profs at teaching but his tests are brutall!!! Clearly if we're all failing his class he's not that good....
DO NOT TAKE PIETRO!! His tests are impossible. No matter how hard you study you'll never end up with a good grade. He's not a good lecturer. He hardly does examples and no hints towards tests. Rude when you ask a question and his course did not prepare me for the exam bc he didn't teach some stuff on it. Choose another prof if u want a better grade
Do not take him.He does not teach properly and what he spends forever on is not on the tests. His tests are impossible no matter how much you study the questions are very unpredictable. He does not help prepare you for the exam as some things he didn't teach were on it. He expects way too much and the lessons are useless and I went to class everyday
He is very passionate about chemistry & respects it. Therefore he's not gonna let some Schmo walk out with an A if they didn't deserve it. You need to study every day, not before the tests. Do not read the Txt before attempting the chapter questions. Try the questions first then reference the section. This will help you understand the fundamentals.
He's a great lecturer and his tests were difficult, but they were all based on concepts that you should've already known. Make sure you understand the fundamentals, keep on top of your work, and ask for clarification if you need it. Don't let the rumours of how hard chem1000 is psyche you out and never skip! :)
This prof is super cool and i loved going to every class. His passion towards chem makes the class very interesting. I recommend taking this class, he is fair and the tests are easy if you study well. Overall a great guy and is super funny.
His lecture is a show, he makes it very interesting,BUT he doesn't like dummies. A successful student in Pietro's class is the one who works extremely hard, has a solid background in chemistry and is insanely passionated about the subject, just happily chokes on the new material and loves solving new problems. Take him, if you want to be a chemist!
The way he teaches is perfect, but tests are very very hard. You would have to study really hard.
You'll get Ivy-League level education enrolling in Pietro's class. He's arguably the best professor York has to offer. It's a privilege to attend his classes, I'm seriously contemplating changing my major to Chemistry. His first test is very hard, but the other two and exam are manageable. You learn a lot attending his classes.
Such a passionate professor! You have to work hard, practise consistently, ask questions, if you want a good grade in his class! Really enjoyed his class very much!
Hes hard but A is achievable
Dr. Pietro is one of the best profs I've seen first year at york. I disliked chemistry coming into uni but he totally changed my mindset and made me interested in chemistry again. He makes you really think! His tests can be quite challenging but his lectures are really interesting and I'd recommend him over any other chem prof!
He is an amazing prof and is very passionate about chemistry. His enthusiasm about the subject kindda rubs off u lol His tests are hard and tricky BUT all you need to do is to study constantly!! Do not study for a test some days or weeks before.
He is an amazing professor. Teaches things very clearly and with a lot of interest. His tests can be a bit challenging though, meaning studying days or even a week before won't do you any good. Do all the problems at the back of each chapter while you are learning the material, not just before for the test. Overall, amazing prof :)
Dr.Pietro is amazing lecturer. First test was the hardest for me, second and third were much easier and therefore the grade was way better. Exam was fair, covered the material from the whole course. An A is achievable, but hard work is required.
He is so funny. But his tests are trick. you really need to know your stuffs. focus on theory , understand it. go pass session and peer tutoring ,its help a lot
Worst prof ever. He may be funny at times, but overall he expects you to have a good background in chem. Tests are extremely difficult compared of the other CHEM 100 prof tests. Very very difficult to get an A in his course. Many agreed that his tests were really bad. A LOT of people FAIL his first test. No lecture slides, no repeating of material.
He is a good teacher. Clear and will help if you ask. Nevertheless the good things stop there. -HARD Tests (know your concepts) -Practice, Practice, Practice - READ THE BOOK -HE GOES VERY FAST, PAY ATTENTION. Lastly, if in highschool CHEM was not your thing, drop his class and switch into another, more easy one.
Dr. Pietro is the best professor I've had. He's extremely knowledgeful, very passionate about his field, and also hilarious. Lectures are fast-paced but interesting and do not drag. First tests is VERY difficult, you will most likely fail. However 2nd and 3rd tests are very fair and can be aced. All in all, Amazing prof; hard but great course.
Best professor ever. explains things crystal clear and difficulty of his tests are average if you studied and did practice problems in text.
Dont take him if you have the choice. he's really hard, hardly does any examples and the tests are BRUTAL compared to the other sections. he never helped prepare you for the test.
Dr. Pietro is an amazing lecturer. His lectures are enticing, interesting, and extremely informative. He also tells stories and jokes (sometimes related to the material, sometimes not) and makes every lecture worth going to and a great learning environment. His tests are more difficult then other classes, but if you know your stuff you can do well.
He's an amazing prof. He teaches really well, and is clear in his lectures. However he's a hardass. His first test will KILL you if you don't study. He emphasizes learning as opposed to studying. Overall his tests are hard in comparison to other profs. TAKE MY ADVICE. Take a different prof. and come to Pietros lectures.
Tests are pretty hard but it is better to have a hard prof that teaches good rather than an easy prof that teaches bad. Made me love chemistry even more!
worst professor ever! His tests are deadly. Stay away!!
Dr. Pietro is a very knowledgeable professor however at times, his great knowledge is overshadowed by his arrogance and egocentric personality. I find it difficult to say that he is a great professor if students came from other classes taught by other professors just for the lecture but did not stay in his class since his tests are hard for 50 mins
I had him for Chem 1000 this year. He's a great lecturer and takes up many questions in class however his tests are so brutal.... That's the only reason why I would prefer another prof over him. But if your up for a challenge, Pietro's ur prof. U must analyze all his test questions before answering as they are made to trick you..
Worst chemistry professor in terms of tests. Yeah he does make lectures interesting but at the end of the day, you're there to learn and do well not marvel at his public speaking abilities. If you're looking to just take it for a requirement, definitely do yourself a favor and take another professor. ANYONE ELSE. Save yourself and your GPA.
He is the hardest prof you can ever have. He makes his tests in away that makes it impossible to achieve a grade you want! you have to a chemistry major to do well in this class. He teaches well but his tests are very tough. He is never clear on what is on the upcoming test. I STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS!!
Dr. Pietro is an overall good prof! He knows his material. There may be times where the concept is complicated so you may need to read or attend tutorial to understand it a bit better. His quizzes are tough, but there are doable if you study! He does a great job consider how broad and general the course material is. Definitely choose him for CHEM!
He definitely knows what he's talking about so you get additional information about the material that you won't find in the textbook. On top of that, he is very funny, so at least you can laugh and have fun in class even if you are helplessly confused most of the time. You should be prepared to do all the readings before lecture to do your best
Amazing lecturer! it is so easy to stay focused in his class. Sometimes goes a little fast compared to the other profs but keeping up with the textbook helps a lot. Tests are tough but manageable if you study. I would definitely recommend him as a prof!
This course makes you work for your grade. Frankly, an A isn't impossible, you just have to work hard for it. Pietro is a great lecturer, funny and intelligent, you will enjoy his lectures for the most part. You don't know what to expect for his tests. If you are not a strong chem student, Gradesavers crash course in Chem REALLY helps!
you have to do as many textbook questions as possible not just the assigned the one he loves to throw curve balls. Basically over achieve you'll get an A, do whats recommended B-C, and underachieve D.
He is my favorite prof in my first year. He has the most interesting lectures he is brilliant. He creates great connections between chemistry and the real world for fun and makes you love chemistry. His tests are no different than any other prof, people are just crybabies because they did not do the textbook questions. He even gives past tests.
Dr Pietro was the first prof that made me love chemistry and see it through a whole new wonderful perspective! Although his tests may seem to be tough, if you attend class and understand what he discusses, then you'll be able to overcome them. Also, do the problems and example problems in the textbook for each chapter!! They'll help you pass!
He is honestly the best chemistry professor at york! I was really scared to take his course because of all the frightening reviews but I'm so glad I did. I was awestruck in every lecture, he made me love chemistry again! Always stayed to answer questions after lecture. Tests aren't too bad as long as you do the textbook questions and go to lectures
Hes cool
Great professor, lectures were really great. He was often ahead of schedule so did lots of review, answered a lot of questions and told a lot of jokes and stories. Really need to read the text and do the homework though, he does the basics and you really need to figure the rest out on your own. Test are pretty tricky, read between the lines...
Chem 1000 and 1001 were not easy to begin with. He explained a lot of the theory and problems in good details, but his tests were brutal ! I would avoid taking it with him again just because those tests were some of the hardest I have ever encountered. The exam was not as bad.
Extremely interesting character. Does not bore students to sleep. Very knowledgeable about chemistry. Pietro has tricky quizzes. He is a classical lecturer using his voice and the chalkboard for problems. This will not be an easy A course. If you want a good mark, read textbook actively night before lecture. Lazy students should avoid Pietro.
One of the hardest Chem 1000 profs. In class he only does examples and does not at all go over the PowerPoints or concepts on how to do the examples. He expects you to learn everything from the textbook and come to class. His tests are intermediate if you study but would be very difficult if you don't. Must study very hard from the textbook.
He knows the subject well and is enthusiastic. However, he and the majority of the chem dept at york believes in making tests hard and giving people bad grades. Obviously, this is harmful for most students who need good grades for med/dental/physio/grad schools. So avoid if thats you
Great funny prof. Kept the dry content interesting. Great at giving lecture. Hardest prof for chem1000/1001 in terms of grading. All his tests were composed of tricks. His tests require serious understanding of material. Tip: switch into another section if you want an easy A.
Amazing lecturer, but tests were extremely difficult! Hardest CHEM1000 prof! Tests always consisted of hard questions, no matter how much I studied which was very unfair. If you want an A switch to another section.
He's super funny and you can understand him quite clearly. He obviously very smart and knowledgeable about his subject material. His test are hard imo and know all your formulas even if he says they are given on the test. Most of the time he expects you to derive most formulas form other formulas. It's not worth the effort and time on the test.
I enjoyed his lectures a lot but from being in his class I started getting test anxiety because his quizzes are quite difficult and long and sometimes seemingly impossible.
Professor Pietro was a great lecturer, who kept classes animated, interesting, and captivating. However, he's not a very nice guy, as he often makes unnecessary comments which he thinks are amusing. Also, his tests are quite difficult, so you really must understand all of the concepts to do well. He gets his students to work hard which is good.
I felt that his class was a bit more difficult in the sense that he taught a lot of things that were not included in the textbook, but more like for upper years. He expected his students to know more than first year stuff. But at the same time, he made class dynamic and interesting. His tests was hard but because he demanded more, exam was easy!
Pietro isn't the easiest first year chem prof but he's definitely the best. His quizzes are quite fair once you realize that what he's really testing is how fast you can recognize what a question is asking and solve it - and that comes with practice. The days before a quiz you should just be doing question after question to master the concepts...
hes tests are SUPER easy... you dont even have to show up to class just do textbook questions!!
Great prof for chem 1000 and 1001. Very clear explanations and generally pretty helpful during tutorial sections. Tests are tougher than the other profs but his lectures are the ones that you want to go to. Pietro's tests are mostly application based,
His test difficult was off the roof. I have a 90% average in all my african studies classes, however I am getting a 30% in this class before exams and I don't expect to pass despite putting in my best efforts!
Dr. Pietro by far has been a dream to receive lecture from. He is so passionate about his field that you will feel no other way than to love it just as much as he does. Unfortunately, that's as far as it goes. If you do all of the textbook homework without much difficulty that's fantastic but it doesn't cut it. Tests and exams are gruelling.
You can only enjoy this if you are a chem genius! His tests are so hard and tricky. But his final exam which was written by 2 other profs was fair. you will definitely fail the first midterm if you are an average student. He even tells you that every year his first midterm average is only 30%. good luck
Funny guy, he's a chem Genius, tests are hard as hell tho. Like his beard alot. If you search his name on google, you'll find something funny lol. Out of all seriousness, great prof, you HAVE to study, no joke, be prepared. But his classes are so worth and you will definitely be learning chemistry and a whole different level than the other profs
The best chem 1000/1001 prof in terms of lectures. The tests are harder than the others but if you study right with his past tests, you should be good. Do all the textbook questions and old tests
Yeah, he's a good professor in lectures and you've really got to pay attention to the formula he focuses on because those will be on the test and you will need to memorize them - tests are quite difficult but if you know those formulas and do lots of past tests and homework you'll be ok but get ready for lots of work
An amazing but challenging professor. He has lots of experience, and delivers above the expected in his lectures in both an entertaining and strict way. However, this class will be a challenging class. Doing well in this class is possible, but requires lots of textbook practice and review.
I didn't do well in 1000 bc I did exactly what he told us NOT to do - write every single thing down and memorize. I got an A in 1001 bc I wrote nothing down in lectures, just paid close attention and went home and worked out all the practice qs myself. He's not testing if u know how to use a bunch of formulas, he's testing if u understand chem.
Avoid at all costs. I do not understand how professor Pietro is getting good ratings on this. He is a terrible professor. His tests are extremely difficult. I had many mental breakdowns throughout the semester. Attend his lectures because he uses many formulas that are not in the textbook. He is not clear on what he is testing you on for tests.
His lectures are decent, however not as good as others claim. His tests are very very tricky and it seems like he is out to get you a lot of the time. The textbook examples that you practice with do not help, the way to succeed is to use the old tests. It's not even worth it to do all the problems in the textbook.
If you like your GPA - Pietro is not the professor for you. Tests are BRUTAL. He's an interesting lecturer but we're not here for theatrics and a joke here or there are we? As a 3rd year student looking back at it, I wouldn't recommend. I would avoid at all costs. If you're a Chemistry genius maybe you'll like it.
He is very knowledgeable and smart. But his test are a bit hard the final exam is hectic but if show up to class and do the questions from the chapters you will be fine.
Run!!!!!
He's the ISCI Chemistry professor for the whole year. For the future ISCI kids, he comes off as a guy who does not care about anything from the start, but as the course goes on, youll start to like him. Probably the best professor of the ISCI second term.
Very interesting professor and his lectures are never boring. Getting a good mark in his class is definitely possible, but make sure to do the textbook readings and practice questions. From personal experience, his tests aren't that bad and he's an easy marker, but he sometimes asks for very specific definitions so watch out for that.
Quality professor with great lectures and sometimes adds in interesting stories! That being said, both courses are not easy and require paying attention to every lecture, doing practice questions, reading the textbook, and maybe even using YouTube for further clarification on the more harder topics in order to get a B or above a B grade.
Dr Pietro made CHEM 1001 manageable-I wouldn't say a breeze because it is a TOUGH class especially in the summer (and if you're taking multiple courses or working RIP), but he does a lot of practice examples in the lectures and explains concepts thoroughly so as long as you do practice questions, its pretty good.
i honestly really liked this prof he explains things very well and is fun and enthusiastic when he teaches. he answer questions detailed and you are never left confused. the only thing is he liked to elaborate a little too much on things sometimes (unnecessary to the course) which can be a little confusing. overall i really enjoyed the course
Professor Pietro has a good sense of humor and is kind to his students. He explains challenging concepts clearly and he always left time at the end of the lectures to answer questions.
Makes lectures fun and captivating. Might be a little hard to follow along sometimes during lecture, especially with more theory heavy concepts, but overall a great professor. Still have to put in the work to do well nonetheless.
I had him for chem 1000 and he is so funny and knows how to keep his audience entertained while also teaching the material. I understood everything he explained. The only problem was his writing was a bit small and hard to read in the black board but otherwise I liked him as a professor and would take him again
The WORST professor I've had in my life! Run away, don't take a course with him if you care about your mental health and your grades. I'm serious! He's rude and dismissive of students in class. His lectures are totally pointless, he talks about history of chem in class but on the test he'll give calculation problems that he doesn't prepare you for.
you won't learn anything from his lectures. Prepare to self teach the whole semester. He doesn't record anything he writes in class and he won't prepare you for test of exam, just terrible useless prof.
Dr Pietro is not a good professor and his classes are completely useless. All he does in his lectures is talk about things that are not on the test. Just useless stuff! I had to self-teach the whole course. My advice - try to add classes as early as you can bc the sections with good profs fill up fast and if you're late you end up with Dr Pietro :(
I am currently taking the course; the first test got an A. The best way to get a good grade is to read and understand the concepts in the textbook and do every chapter's questions. I do not go to his lecture nor watch the recorded video (useless). His test is quite tricky with wording. To get an A+, you should know the concepts inside out.
Only take this prof if you are good at self-teaching. His lectures and tutorials are useless and I stopped coming to class after the first two weeks. The textbook is great and you can study and learn everything from it. It took a lot of work but I got an A. Would not recommend this prof to anyone!
Best prof I have had in my first semester at York. He is engaging and makes jokes that link back to the curriculum. He teaches where theories come from and I personally find it very helpful to know why a theory exists instead of just knowing what the theory is. Don't listen to those saying he is a bad prof, if you do the readings you will do great.
He's an okay teacher like he obviously know the material and is very educated when it comes to Chemistry but god he rambles so much and will spend a good 30 minutes talking about unnecessary information that isn't on the exams or midterm and he LOVES to fear-monger too. he doesn't know how to get to the point
His lectures are completely useless. The chemistry department at York sucks for chem 1000 (based on my current experience) the tests are 1000x more difficult than what the profs teach you. Pietro on the other hand. He rambles about useless information for 30 mins and has no knowledge of the test.
I'm terrible at chemistry so I can't speak on the easiness of the course itself, but he is so funny, and his lectures are so entertaining. He explains things really well, and makes his class engaging for everyone. If there's any lecturer you could pick for Chem 1000, pick him!
Not the best chem prof out there at yorku. He writes stuff really small on the blackboard which makes it super hard to see and read. Since he is not the course director, he does not know what questions are on the evaluations and he won't answer any questions regarding exams or midterms. He mostly talks about things that are not on the evaluations.
Dr. Pietro should be avoided at all costs. His high rating is mostly from his upper classes but if you're a first year student coming in AVOID. He's funny, and that's about it. He doesn't use slides (they're just basic pre-made by the university and even then he doesn't use them) and writes on the blackboard in the smallest writing. AVOID!
Great lectures all around. Get ready to be entertained in class. However, the course has a lot of work so get ready.
Unfortunately, his teaching style didn't work for me. He writes on the board, which is sometimes difficult to see, especially if he is writing on a white board. There are slides but he doesn't really use them. I found it difficult to pay attention in his lectures, despite him being very funny, & would try to teach myself with the textbook.
did not like his teaching style he would say the lecture is recorded but would only simply record his voice and the slides which he would not skip half of the time!! he would use the whiteboard in class and the lecture wouldnt record it so when rewatching his lectures you have no idea how he solved it. his lectures wouldnt record half of the time
He is knowledgeable and challenging sometimes. This course is primarily a reading class, reading the provided journal article weekly and discussing it every week. This course is somewhat heavy, but it is manageable and possible to do well. If you need help, he is happy to help.
About 60% of the time he would go off topic and he would skip half the lectures except us to know the stuff when he is clearly supposed to be teaching us.
What most people say is true. He rambles, makes difficult tests, doesn't post notes online and is extremely test heavy. However, they forget to point out that all his tests are open book and he is very generous with part marks. Just writing equations from a sheet will get you a quarter of what you need. Be prepared to take notes.
Dr. Pietro suits independent and mature learners, relying strongly on the textbook, and with very straightforward tests. I would not recommend if you're a beginner in the subject, his traditional teaching is clear but may not suit all; he will explain the material as if you were his knowledgable peer. Effective for self-motivated students.
Dr. Pietro suits independent learners, relying on the textbook, and with straightforward tests. Not for beginners, however, he genuinely wants everyone to pass, so if you're seriously committed to the class, you can make it! His traditional teaching, although clear, may not suit all. He's great for self-motivated students with solid study habits.
Although his teaching methods are traditional, it makes sense because this course is highly math based. However, in terms of grading, he is very fair. His tests are open book and his teaching is pretty straightforward. This is a class you have to study on your own for though. The only thing I wished was that he was a bit more organized. Caring prof
worst prof I ever had!!!!!!
His teaching style didn't work with me but if u are good at self teaching this class would be for u. As someone who is a beginner in chem this course was not helpful at all. During lectures he just rambles, doesn't annotate or use the slides, and writes problems on the whiteboard with small letters. He is funny but avoid if you're not good at chem.
Although he makes funny jokes during lectures, professor Pietro's teaching style just isn't for me. He tends to teach at very slow rate which makes it hard to stay engaged with the content and he uses the whiteboard problems. If u plan on taking a course with him, make sure to sit in the front so it's easier to see what's written on the board.
he seems like a great guy, but he skips over material like crazy... i went to EVERY lecture and some topics on the midterm he skipped over entirely, so make sure you supplement the stuff he decides to teach with the content mentioned in the course outline (also the tests were NOT open book like i see others saying)
In my opinion, Pietro should be avoided. I went into this class not knowing much chemistry and I had to self teach. He sometimes spends entire lectures on topics that are irrelevant and will start giving us history lessons instead of actually teaching. Seems like a nice guy but I wouldn't take him again. DO ALL TEXTBOOK QUESTIONS AND YOULL DO WELL.
worst professor I took. He skips several lessons and one chapter that will appear on the midterm and final exams. In one of the lectures, he talked about how Pepsi and Coca-Cola went to war at York University. Overall it's best to take this course with someone else.
Professor Pietro makes some funny jokes, but his teaching style just didn't work for me. He tends to ramble and skip over important material. Definitely supplement his lectures with the textbook and resources like unstuckstudy AI to stay on top of the content.
Honestly, the worst professor to take for chemistry. He didn't follow the slides posted on eclass and was unable to answer questions about what would be on midterms or the final exam. He is a fun teacher but he doesn't cover everything and can be confusing/hard to understand.
he was messy, the way he taught jus messed stuff up for me. the class was literally full n he would write tiny on da board ppl at da back couldnt even see or hear him. He doesnt even use the mic or check if everyone could hear him. Classes were boring. It wasn't like they said it was. I'd suggest going for a diff prof.
William Pietro was an amazing professor. Thanks to him, I am still on the path to a Chemistry degree, otherwise that dream would've been long gone.
I'm a first year student who had Dr. Pietro, he's passionate about the topics but he isn't organized at all and does not cover the material that will appear on exams. He will provide no information on what would appear on tests/exam and expects you to already know everything without him teaching it. I attended Dr. Mirkovic's lectures to ge A+.
I went to almost every single lecture and learned not much. I had to teach myself the entire course. He also would teach content that is not on the final exam. Other than that he is a good man who believes all his students can succeed. He was also very knowledgeable in the field.
He's a nice man, believes in his students. Lectures are ok, sometimes difficult because he gives unnecessary backstory. Taught myself everything and was there practically every lecture but some of it was on me for not listening. Final exam was brutal. The prof overall is really nice, caring and is knowledgeable.
This prof has a habit of teaching a lot of content that isn't even on the tests and not teaching content we actually need to know. His slides are horrible, he doesn't post them until like halfway through the chapter and he teaches SO QUICKLY he finished the course while another section was a chapter and a half behind.
For CHEM1000, choose a different prof. He does not teach or answer questions properly/explain the answers to them. He uses slides that are not accessible to us and teaches extra info that isn't on the exams (+gets sidetracked), but skips over material that IS on them. He doesn't give any helpful test info either. Use the textbook to study!
The lectures were so fun and educational. If you have any homework questions (or questions in general), he walks you through the process of how it's done. He is extremely knowledgeable and caring for his students.
funny guy good lectures tests ok
WARNING. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. He doesn't even know what concepts are on the exams & teaches whatever he feels like teaching, which is completely useless. He doesn't record lectures at all. TRUST ME NOT WORTH, I started attending another prof's lecture, & I understood the content better than when he was teaching me. Take the course with Tihana.
Professor Pietro is passionate about chemistry but is not the best teacher. He often over-complicates topics or neglects to explain them. However, he does have regular office hours, so he can answer any question. Still, I would recommend going to another professor, preferably the CHEM1000 course director.
He doesn't know what he is doing
He clearly loves chemistry. The slides alone can be hard to follow but the course itself is beyond easy as long as you attend lecture or skim through the textbook. Real tests were same difficulty as practice tests. He often would go on tangents but always clarified beforehand that it was not testable. Weekly quizzes are annoying, but free marks.
Coming from someone who found grade 12 chemistry extremely easy, in his class I had to teach myself everything. He also doesn't know what's gonna be on the midterms/ exam so he teaches completely unrelated information that you don't need to know, while barely discussing the topics that will be tested on.
JUST RUN !!! If YOU are a first year student and thinking that lets give him a chance just don't take him please try literally anything but don't take him as a prof u will cry and end up hating chemistry and HAVE TO LITERALLY DO EVERYTHING ON UR OWN. The course itself is easy and midterms are also easy only if ur grade 12 basics are clear.
Professor pietro is really funny and his lectures are amazing, go to class, do the assigned homework and you'll easily get an A
