Nice guy. His bark is definately worse than his bite. Actually made learning about manufacturing process KINDA fun. Explains things well. Would reccomend (but at this point in the game, students don't have much choice for their prof. for this class).

Fairly good professor. Quizzes are not to hard, but definitely need to study up. He has a "I'm never wrong" attitude and his ego is bigger than his belly!

He has a "I am never wrong attitude" because let's see.. freshman in his first term at college with no real experience or a teacher who's worked in industry for many years, who do you think is going to be right?

His lectures are terrible! One hour seems like days in that class. He is a very nice guy and easy prof. Just study your notes and you'll do fine in the class. Gurantee 90+ if you study for his quizes(he even gives you the words that will be on the quiz).

Mind-numbingly boring. Quizzes are difficult if you don't study the material in your notes (yes, take notes because the lab book is useless...unless they change it). Get cribs.

He's a good guy, but has an "I'm always right" complex. Take good notes and go see him about confusing issues and you'll do fine. Also, if you can get cribs, do it. He doesn't change his quizzes from term to term very much.

I have to agree that he gives misleading questions. You can practically memorizing his notes and still be confused on the test. Get the cribs. Study the cribs. Pass the tests.

Very easy, smart man and relates everything to even easier examples, if you can't understand, you shouldn't be here. Go to UM or MSU.

You have a freaking word bank for every quiz ahead of time. If you study even the slightest, you'll be fine. Get at least one crib to start off, words stuff a little weird. Knows his stuff, really helpful, just wants you to apply yourself.

Easy class, interesting if you pay attension. Quiz every week, but they are easy if you get cribs. He is a nice guy, really knows what he is taking about. Gives good examples.

Riffe is a very good professor,lots of examples and visuals, it is very true that you can pass with perfect grades if you just look over and study by his syllabus. VERY strict attendance policy(for tests) he doesn't keep track of your lecture attendances

The most cribable class @ kettering. Final will be hard because you can not study the material it covers (good luck). Can be a d*ck, needed 85 for deans. Gave me a 83, had a 83.9 (rounded down down do grade on final). No grudes though good teacher.

Study and get an A. Only morons fail IME100. It is true, he cna be an a$$ sometimes, but live with it. Tries to make you think, but you actually just memorize terms instead. GET THE CRIBS. They will save you, but he isn't the most cribbable prof, maybe number 7 or 8 on the list.

Great prof for upper level IME courses. Hands on lab, lots of class participation required. Don't take if you want to sleep through class. Expects you to come to class every day. Makes you think. Much of this class can be used outside of school. You only will get out of it what you put into it.

YAWN, but he is REALLY knowledgable about in this topic, the answers are ON the tests just listen a little to what he says and you will have no problem. cribs can help a little but don't rely on them. he kinf of reminds me of the crabs from Monsters inc. he even sounds like him... just a thought.

He's a great professor. The class was not my interest at all, but when he relates what he talks about in class to the real world you get a good perspective on what he means. He's a very cool and easy to talk to. Use cribs, but don't rely on them too much (Come on definitions and pictures for an exam shouldn't be that hard).

This is a class in manufacturing, yes, but it's also a class in Kettering. It teaches you Kettering basics - cribs, study habits, etc in exactly the fashion emulated by many of the other profs.

Good professor. Although the class may be less than exciting, he does a good job relating the subject to real world examples to keep you interested. Quizzes are straight-forward and there shouldn't be any surprises.

Great prof. the class covers a ton of material and somehow he is able to fit it all in. lots of quizes, no suprises. anyone can get a good grade if you put some effort in to the class.

Makes good analogies and explains things well. Really try to learn this stuff cause you will most likely use it at your coop. Cribs are readily available and very helpful. Talk to him if you need help. He is believe it or not a nice guy.

holy crap, someone that cares!

This man is the reason i didnt look like an idiot my first day of work! Take it from me....what he teaches will be in every day of every year of your schooling and work. His class is the foundation to understanding anything kettering tries to teach.

Easy Class

Very easy professor. Explains things well, and cares about student performance. Study before tests and quizes, and you'll do fine.

Not a bad grader, much easier than most any other prof. teaching IME 100, a little long winded but otherwise a good prof.

Memorize the meaning of the words for the quizes and you will ace the class. If you don't understand something look it up online and you will do fine.

He's a great man. He tells you to use cribs to help you study, so do it.

He's a nice guy and wants you to do well, but if you are a CE or EE student, lecture will bore you to death. USE CRIBS and you'll get an easy wag booster.

Amazing guy. Great lab teacher. Very helpful if you go talk to him during office hours. Really nice if he likes u. BUT, the MOST BORING LECTURE CLASS EVER!!!! Take a pillow or a computer!! If you even have a trace amount of intelligence, USE CRIBS!!!!!

Easy class, nice prof. Tries to keep a boring class interesting and is a pretty funny guy.

Riffe is extremely easy. All you gotta do is come to class and study his cribs and you will pass. He takes attendance by passing back the quizzes and whose ever he gets back, they're marked absent. You take the quizzes on the day he doesn't pass quizzes back so attendance is mandatory. He is boring, but he is the best IME 100 professor to have.

Very easy class. There's a test every Wednesday, but if you study the cribs, you should be in the clear. Attendance isn't mandatory, but when he goes over the material, he adds useful information in that's not in the class manual. But overall, very easy class, and Riffe is a knowledgable guy and has lots of stories.

CRIB!!! Study crib and section for 30 mins prior to class and you'll get a good grade.
