LOVE HIM! he is an amazing teacher! i always leave the class feeling extremely uplifted, he honestly makes my day. and the work load is light, and none of it is busy work, its all very personally helpful. he is very focused and really knows what he's talking about

Best teacher i had that semester. He is a really awesome teacher who knows his students and is very approachable. His class is "easy" if you actually do the work, but its not incredibly difficult work to do and is not busy work. If your looking for a great class with no tests than take this guy, he's a great teacher.

Brother Riggins is completely amazing. The honor code is really important to him, and he expects you to be honest, that's obvious. I learned more about the BOM than I ever have before. It became fascinating. It's not a hard class, and you will improve yourself. This class changed my life.

Riggins is a great and engertic teacher who knows and understands the subject he is teaching. He does not give busy work and just wants you to feel good, suceed, learn, and participate in class. He can change you life for the better if you give him a chance. I highly recomend him

So Bro. Riggins hands down is my favorite teacher on campus. I even went to his house for dinner onces. He really cares about his students. There are semi-difficult assignment but everyone of them is beneficial to the spirituality of the student. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone! LOVE HIM!I looked forward to class everyday.

You have the option to write a page either every class time or a little more every other class--that option has been nice. Once in a while he will use analogies or pictures to strengthen a point and that has proved very beneficial for me.

I love him!! He is the BEST Book of Mormon teacher ever!! I learned so much in his class and we always had the spirit. He has no quizzes or tests but a 4-5 paper due at the end of the semester but you can write about whatever you want so its fine. And then daily reading and hw. He is amazing teacher and everyone should take him!

Brother Riggins is the greatest religion teacher at BYU-I. He really opens up to each individual student, he lets the Spirit teach you. Amazing man. Take as many of his classes as YOU CAN!!!

He was my favorite teacher I've ever had. I learned so much more from his class then any of my math or science classes. He brought the spirit into the class everyday and really cared about each student. You have to keep up on your reading and journals everyday, but it's not that bad. Take him if you can!! Riggins is a crazy good teacher. People who dislike his class are don't understand the work load he gives helps the students get the most out of the material. Extremely bright, knows the doctrine very well. Great stories, great humor, treats everyone with love respect. Best religion class that I have ever taken.

Bro Riggins was a very good teacher. I was impressed by his knowledge of and love for scripture. I think he gets discouraged easily by lack of attention and respect. He really cares about his students. LOTS of work required for this class but if you make it through the first couple weeks it gets better. If you can, get ahead and stay there!

He is WONDERFUL!! I loved this class! It was one of my favorite classes all semester long! He really cares about all of his students and has a love of the scriptures.

Best religion teacher I have ever had by FAR. He doesn't necessarily teach about the facts of the stories, but more the principles you can really use in your daily life. I would definitely recommend him.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Definitely take him if you can, you will learn so much more than basic BoM facts. His teaching style isn't traditional, and lots of times we didn't get to the assigned reading until the last 10 minutes, but he always spent the class time teaching important lessons based on students questions and needs. He really knows his stuff!

Love this teacher! I will definitely take as many of my religion classes as I can from him. There is a lot of work, but its totally worth it! If you keep up on your journals and reading (daily assignments) you will be in great shape for his class. I seriously recommend him to anyone who wants to learn about the gosple (not just the BoM) =)

Brother Riggins is an AMAZING teacher. The spirit is always strong in class and he's able to explain The Book of Mormon in a way that's easy to understand. Homework load is light, you have to keep a journal and do quizzes, but they're open note quizzes. You'll gain a lot of insights from Brother Riggins. I highly recommend him as a professor.

Bro. Riggans is an amazing teacher. Very easy class as long as you do the homework assignments, which are beneficial for you. Riggans wants you to learn the material and not worry about the grade, so he's very linent/fair. You'll learn SO much! He's like a BOM yoda! Loved the class! Lots of discussion.

AMAZING TEACHER. There is a quiz before every class. He expects you to write in a scripture journal nightly and a class blog weekly. Not too bad of a workload and you get full points for doing the assignments. Gives a lot of extra credit! Passionate about the gospel and loves helping his students! I would definitely take him again!

He was in construction for 17yrs, So hes a normal person, not like some of the other religion professors who are more like Zealots. There some busy work, but its easy. Id take him again. This man is SO great. He's a fantastic teacher, the homework helped me grow a lot spiritually, and he loves to talk to his students. I've stopped by his office and he just sits and talks to you. One of my all- time favorite teachers.

What a wonderful Professor. He is honest, fun and is willing to help you out if there's a serious problem. I am not a morning person, but I loved oming to his class, though I missed a lot due to personal reasons. His class consists of self tests, readings, journals, a presentation(5 mins) and a Practicum. It may seem like alot, but it isn't.

I had him my Freshman year for BOM, he was hilarious and refreshing. He trusts his student's to tell the truth and be honest. I dont know if he still odes this, but we got extra credit for bringing a date to his house (He'd make waffles) LEGIT! :)

There are a lot of things to do, so do them ahead of time. Did work 1 week in advance. There's quite a lot of work for this class, so be prepared and do things ahead of time.

He was my Early AM Seminary teacher. He made each class amazing! I had 100% attendance! He his relationship with our Savior, fueled my desire to strengthen my testimony, too. Whenever anyone goes to BYU-I, I always insist they look up Bro Riggins! When they do, they're never EVER disappointed!

Brother Riggins is a great teacher. I've taken 3 different classes from him and it's always been amazing. He keeps things simple enough to understand and doesn't dip super deep into deep doctrine. He will help build your faith if you let him and are willing to do the work. Not overly hard or asking for a lot from students.

Kept me engaged through out class, and has powerful insights. The course work load is not difficult but does take sometime to complete the final and other key assignments. Attend class and do the work and you will receive the grade you want.

He never stayed on topic and went on rants about different things all the time. He knows his stuff, I just wanted him to share what he knew about the section we were on--which pretty much never happened. A couple of classes we literally never opened up to the chapters or even book we were supposed to read from.

He prepares according to the readings, yet hearkens to the spirit as it takes him away from the lesson plan. He is a friend to his students.

Brother Riggins was one of the most amazing teachers I ever had while at BYU-I. He is the only one I know that teaches solely by the spirit. We started each class with a student's thought and then he simply whent from there. He went where both the class and the spirit directed him. PHENOMENAL TEACHER.

Brother Riggins is simply the best professor on campus. Every SINGLE day that I had his class, I learned something new about life and how to prepare for it. Even though its mission prep, he helps you mostly on life-long lessons and he really cares that you know how to be a disciple of Christ. He has made me realize that I want to serve a mission!!!

Brother Riggins is a great guy. He is very lecture heavy and reading every day is a requirement for 15+ minutes. I love the lectures but would like more participation instead of just lectures.

He is so awesome. Helped me prepare and get ready for a mission. Respected what everyone said and no question was a dumb one. He does give a lot of reading but its all by honesty if you did it or not (which you should it helps a TON) His syllabus also makes it seem like he is crazy strict but he's really not at all.

TAKE BROTHER RIGGINS!! I took Mission Prep from him and every SINGLE class was so inspirational and I felt so refreshed afterwards. He boosts your spirits and brings the spirit to every lecture. Syllabus was a lot but honestly very doable and I'm taking another class from him this coming semester which I'm very excited about!!!

Bro. Riggins has beenn my favorite religion teacher so far. He can be really intense during his lectures. He knows a lot about the gospel. He served as a mission president. You have a big lesson plan to make at the end of the semester but don't have to teach it. He tries to make everything as clear as possible. I really enjoyed his spirit.

He wasn't the best at getting the grades in, but he's understanding and will work with you to do well in the class. You can really feel the spirit with him.

I really enjoyed Bro. Riggins. He is my 2nd favorite religion instructor here (my 1st is Bro. Wahlquist). Yes, he can be self-righteous at times, but he is an excellent teacher. Very spiritual and very intelligent about the Church and Gospel. I have loved my classes with him. The homework is easy but there is a lot of reading. Highly recommend!

My class was full, but over the semester I watched 15 people drop Mission Prep. If you are willing to learn and devote yourself to Christ and a mission, you will do well in this class. If you don't care about learning, you will hate every single day and FAIL. Buckle up and get ready to learn, you'll find this is a smooth class that prepares you100%

I absolutely loved him and his class. Yes, he gives so much homework and goes really deeply when he teaches. But actually, that was what I wanted. He knows everything about the gospel and answers everything you ask. If I can take his class for the rest of my college years, I would do that.

I suggest taking from Bro Riggins if you want an easy A. You have a couple assignments, and have to do a devo once in front of the class. Super nice guy but sometimes gets off track and tells lots of stories. Very knowledgeable and passionate in the gospel. Loved that he had us get to know eachother and do a couple of in class group assignments!

I have taken Book of Mormon, Jesus Christ and the Everlasting Gospel, and Doctrine and Covenants from Brother Riggins. Participation is a must. There are never any exams. He is focused on helping you understand and use the material rather than testing your knowledge. Class discussions are always enlightening and engaging. Highly recommend!

Brother Riggins is seriously incredible. His insights on the gospel will absolutely blow your mind. He was a mission president in Ecuador and from that has given advice and counsel on how to best prepare for a mission that has helped me tremendously. SO recommend his class.

Really good teacher! It can be a lot of work sometimes, but it will help you actually prepare for your mission. You can just use the online Preach My Gospel--you don't need the textbook. He is awesome!

Brother Riggins is really passionate when he teaches. He brings the spirit and uses class participation so we can learn better. He cares about his students and I would recommend taking his class! Not too much homework, just a weekly report of our studies and occasional assignments. The only book required was a preach my gospel book.

His final is a big deal, but you are given all semester to work on it! He will do everything to make sure you are taken care of! 10/10 would take again! Love Him!

I took mission prep back in 2018 and it really helped me become a confident, more righteous person. I didn't like using a physical planner and we planned on our phones on my mission, but it did help give my life structure. He is a great teacher and I love him. The class was very much like how the mission field was and that helped me a lot.

If you're looking for a really easy religion class take Brother Riggins. He's really chill and flexible and personable but if you want to learn a ton I wouldn't take his class. I definitely learned some but he's pretty inconsistent.

Loved his way of teaching and his lectures. He does get distracted easily and most of the time you will not do the quizzes that you wrote and brought to class.

He's super kind, pretty chill and funny. He gets super excited about the content he teaches. Can get sidetracked but I like how he goes with the flow of where the discussion leads. We only end up doing the quizzes we write like half the time.

Brother Riggins is great. He has a strong testimony and shares really inspiring advice! There is a reading assignment to do before each class from Preach My Gospel. Definitely a good class to prep for your mission.

Riggins is very spiritually knowledgeable and has the best stories to share. He has an assignment due every week asking about your reading and he likes you to have a reading journal that you'll report about. It isn't bad, it actually really helps you get more out of your reading

I adore Bro. Riggins, he helped me prepare to become a missionary so well and helped me deepen my testimony. Little homework, super easy, he is just a joy to be around and you can tell how deeply he loves all of his students and wants them to succeed. Everyone needs to take him in any class they can, my favorite proffessor at this whole school!

Brother Riggins is probably one of the three Nephites here on earth. He is so inspirational and teachings powerfully through the spirit. My only request was that I wished he would allow more student lead discussions. His lectures were great, but with little student engagement.

Professor Riggins is an engaging lecturer who really brings the gospel to life. The class has a lot of reading, but using resources like Unstuck ai to supplement my studies made it manageable. Overall, a rewarding class if you're willing to put in the effort.

Brother Riggins helped me prepare for my mission so much. There was PMG reading every day before class but that was the only homework and reading beforehand helps you understand the lesson so much better. I definitely want to take a class from him in the future.

Easiest class ever. You literally show up and you will pass the class. His syllabus seems super strict, but you don't do anything about it. I sat in the back and played on my phone the whole time and got a 104% in the class. He is a super awesome teacher and super passionate. You learn a lot, but it's also an easy class. Highly recommend!

He is really nice and caring with good lectures. You have an assignment or two do every week but they will take you less than an hour to do both. Attendance is mandatory but he stopped taking it after the second week for my class. He really tries to prepare you for a mission in the best way. I'm so glad I took his class.

This is me nominating Bro Riggins as the next president of the United States & prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is so inspirational & you will get a lot out of his class if you apply & include yourself. He makes a lot of eye contact and speaks into your soul; YOU MUST take Mission Prep with him, it's a must, go apply.

He is a good teacher. He does have more work requirements than some other religion teachers but not too bad. Lenient with grading.

This was probably equivalent to 2 credits of work for 1 credit, but the actual workload for this class was out of his control. His lessons were very, very good, and I have never said or thought that about a religion teacher before.
