Mr. Secrest is awesome. You meditate every class period. His tests are a bit tough..but read the book and you are all set. Interesting lectures...but you really don't have to go.

I loved his class. Hes a very interesting person and a good teacher.

Cool guy, its a kind of class wheres theres no point in attending cuz u dont learn anything. ur all on ur own. however hes study guides are accurate so passing isnt hard at all.

Very laid back, easy going, creative.

I enjoyed his class very much, although I didn't really care about the meditation. He encourages students to use their minds and voice their opinions. Overall its a well taught class.

Easy A. All you have to do is show up. No "real" essays to write.

Mr. Seacrest is very sweet. He takes time to get to know everyone in his class. you may not learn a very in-depth deal about each religion, but you will be more tolerant after.. Seacrest is a bit spacey, but he's a nice person and chats with me every time he sees me even though my class ended a year ago.

The class was very interesting and entertaining. Instead of lecturing we had group discussions and he gave everyone in the class a chance to talk and tell people about their religion. (What better way to learn about religions then to have people of their own relgion tell you about it!) And yes its true he does make everyone meditate for 10 minute

IF YOU ARE A PERSON WHO CAN READ OWN THIER OWN AND PASS THE TEST THAT WAY THAN HE IS A GREAT TEACHER . IF YOU NEED NOTES TO PASS THAN THIS TEACHER IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU. YOU HAVE TO DEPEND ON YOURSELF TO READ THE CHAPTER AND THAN TAKE A QUIZ.

Mr. Secrest is a nice sweet guy. I got him for summer of 06 and I did learn a lot. The quizzes and exams are right off the book, so make sure you read and you should get a fair grade. He will work with you if you need help. He did for me!

He is a good teacher for an easy A,but you have to study a little bit. His quizzes and tests are from the book,he is not very helpful when it comes to tests. You have to study on your own,but they are easy,all of them are multiple choice. Just come to class,participate a little and study one hour a week and you will be fine. P.S.Be friends with him

He is very nice, he does not teach much during class, but his class is fun. he is very understanding and he helps alot.

Professor Secrest is probably one of the best teachers a student could have. Anybody who says different does not have an open mind and lacks the maturity level required to excel in his class. Secrest not only teaches the subject well, but he also opens a student's eyes to important issues around us. Pay attention and read the book.

This guy is AWSOME.for all those haters.i dunno what to say.they probably diss on EVERY teacher that expects students to come to class prepared..umm isn't that what students are supposed to do?if you pay attetion in class and participate..there is no way that you will not pass with a good grade..NO WAY!don't hate on the guy..he is a good person.

He is a very knowledgeable instructor, but he does spend a great deal of time on the environment and "down time". Although the environment is of importance, this was a RELGION class, so a bit irrelevant to devote as much time to it as he did. Lots of reading, but for those taking eastern religions, he will be distributing out my outlines.

Great teacher

Mr. Secrest is a nice teacher who is very compassionate about religion, but everything I've learned in this class was by reading the textbook! If I would have taken Mr. Secrest online, it would have been the same.

Seacrest is a very smart man, and has a lot of knowledge. But, I was learning more about the Earth rather than religion. I actually was taught but my classmates who had various different religions and backgrounds. I did enjoy the class but at times i was really annoyed at the fact that some people never showed up and still were "Great students"

secrest is cool and entertaining, but the same time he can be hard. you have to read the book. we spend most of the time meditating in class. true, he is a hippy and can do or say weriod stuff, but atleast he keeps u awake. he is obsessive with the envirnment ( even though he drives a car) which makes him a hypacret! he's a good teacher sometimes!

Secrest is a great professor. Honestly, I thought he was very nice and helpful. He gives plenty of extra credit and showing up to class is a must. He loves the Earth and talks alot about it. He uses his experiences to help you understand different religions such as hinduism and so on. I defintely recommend this teacher.

Secrest changed my life. He is an amazing teacher. I guess it depends on what you're willing to learn, though. His class is not for everyone's taste, though.

Okay - seriously he doesn't do too much teaching about the subject. It's more or less a class on being a hippy. But I passed the class with no problem. Very easy and actually quite fun. He's a little on the weird side and kind of opinionated at times, but the class was fun. It wasn't just a bunch of stuufy facts. READ THE TEXTBOOK TO PASS!

Very good Teacher , just ask him what you want to know he will explain, keeps the class interesting, also cn stand on his head lol

I enjoyed going to Pro. Secrest's class every day! I liked how most of the class was student interaction...and he does not favor students- he just respects the students that participate. I will admit however, he did focus a little too much on Buddhism, I would have liked to have touched on the other religions a little more. :)

The most coolest guy i know! All he does in class is talk about making the world a better place... not much textbook use. right before a quiz or test he practically goes over everything that is going to be on it. you meditate every class period. he's a hippie, so if you're into world peace, he'll love you!

Such an awesome guy! His class is fun and funny, and he makes learning a great time. I'd love to have him as a professor again.

This guy is awesome! As long as you attend class and turn in the work, it's an easy A. He excepts late work with an excuse, and talks about real life, no bs.

One of the best classes I have ever taken (and I took alot of classes). This guy changed my life to say the least. I look at the world in a better light. I love him. He is so interesting to listen to. Plus, his quizzes and exams are a piece of cake. Just take his class seriously and dont goof off and YOU WILL LOVE HIM!

The best damn teacher in the school hands down. He allows persons from different cultures to appretiate each other and an open format. He also make you feel good about accepting new possiblities. Very understanding and intellegent.

I really dont know why hes only rated "3" on almost every category. wat do kids want these Days? all this guy talks about is nature and takes you out at times, and talks bout the worlds problems and promotes peace and love. he rarely gives test. no quizzes. all we do is meditate which is like sleeping time. and its an effin easy A!!!!!!!!!

He is THE EASIEST teacher you will ever have! Class was pretty interesting and VERY relaxed. He's not a fan of high school students, so if you are in high school, just make sure you "lean into it," as he would say. His class is an EASY-A and is pretty fun. All we do is meditate and watch documentaries. TAKE HIS CLASS! You will not regret it!

Prof Secrest is the nicest teacher. He cares about his students and he is fair and kind.Prof Secrest has lot of wisdom and knowledge. Come to class, participate,do your assignments, and you will pass.

Loved his class , and I actually looked forward to going. Don't agree with about 90% of his opinions , but it was still interesting to listen. VERY DIFFERENT class ,all of my classes in HFCC were boring ...but this one surprised me. Meditating everyday for 15 minutes + gets annoying , especially if youre not into these things..amazing class though.

I think this is the BEST class I have ever taken. I enjoyed every minute of it. Professor Secrest was the best professor. I disagreed with about 99% of what he said. I discovered that he is not as open minded as I thought he was , but just because we disagreed doesn't mean he's not a great professor. Very down to earth

I did a directed study in World Religions with Professor Secrest as a young college student just out of high school, and it changed my life. I learned a ton about religious and spiritual practices around the world, and just as much about how I might actually want to live my life (in no small measure from Secrest's very example). He cares, too.

Nice teacher, Meditate for 15 minutes, talk for about 20 minutes, then enjoy the rest of the class very easy class. You learn a lot in his class. One thing to keep in mind is that he will catch you if you cheat.

I don't get how anyone could give him a low rating or fail his class. He's the most laid-back, easy grader. He hardly assigns homework and only asks for you to read the chapters he assigns, do the in-class meditation, and take part in discussions. Just be respectful and don't skip the minimal assignments. I would definitely take him again.

Laid back class. Very funny. you get into groups once every week, which is my favorite part. it helped me become open up. we had a party at the end of the class. everyone braught food. there is no homework. barely assignments. Very chilling class. we mediate everyday with lights off. I use that time to go on my phone. LOL

HES THE MAN

Very chill. He's been teaching for 40+ years, this guy even taught both my parents lol. Take the class, meditate, give him some respect, and he'll love you; guaranteed A.

Again, those who are writing negative things about Prof Secrest, are the ones who wanted to sit in class and text on their phones, talk while the professor is trying to teach class, and barely come to class; and when they receive a bad grade, they want to write a negative review. Prof Secrest is an excellent teacher, very wise and compassionate.

Fun teacher! you will learn about yourself more in the class. The class consists of discussing topics of the course (eastern religions) very fun and you might feel uncomfortable at first but you'll get used to it! just mediate and you'll be good! NAMASTE!

Took Mr. Secrest twice for 2 diff classes. He is always there for his students. I went through very toughdepressing times and he was very understanding and helped me get through it. He is the man i tell you!!!!!

Beautiful soul, total hippie. He really cares about his students. Very funny and sarcastic.
