Wonderful teacher, theres not much else to say. Very personable, easy to go up to and ask for help. Loves what he does, and loves to help you learn. GREAT TEACHER!
Had him for 150 and have him now for 151. he NEVER ceases to amaze me in that he is everything a good professor should be. The best math teacher I ever had and damn funny too. Makes a lot of jokes in class
AWESOME TEACHER!! class is fun and he cracks jokes a lot which helps make 2 hour period go faster! Tests are reasonable and pertain to what he taught. Very flexible in helping students, and is known to occasionally push back due dates for homework!
Great teacher, goes at a good speed and has very in depth notes. Going to class will definitely help to get a good grade. Quizzes are only on about 2-3 sections so its pretty easy. Tests aren't too bad and he usually lets you omit one. Definitely a great teacher!
nice guy, the class material is pretty easy and he goes over it and explains it well. he lets people exempt from the final and the quiz/test policy is nice.
This guy is a great teacher. He's clear, takes his time, and tells you everything you need to know before tests and quizzes. Go the class before Thanksgiving, he gives you bonus points. He is likes football and baseball and is very funny too. Take him.
Mr. Slowikowski was an awesome teacher!!! His quizzes are pretty hard, but the tests are easy, and don't change much from the previous semesters. If you have a 94% or higher, you don't have to take the final. He explains things really well, and is very flexible.
Definitley the teacher you want for math. Easy, nice person who will always be there to help. I enjoyed his class and never seen math so easy! TAKE HIM!!!
I have had Mr. Slowikowski every semester since I have come to this school, and I'm taking STAT 351 with him this semester also. Awesome teacher! Very clear and very helpful!
This is an excellent professor. The class (calculus) is by nature very difficult but if you are having trouble GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. If he sees that you are having difficulty but are trying really hard and you talk to him a lot (so he knows who u r) he will bump your borderline grade up
cool teacher! tells u whats important and does not waste time on small details. very easygoing, and always happy. he makes college math sooo much easier than it is. i had him for 150, and am taking his night class right now. sooo worth it! take his class if possible/needed :)
Slowikowski is a great teacher. I took him for math150 and he made the subject very clear. I'm taking him for math151 and he is awesome. makes some jokes which arent too funny, but he is an easy going guy. i recommend u take him for both math150 and 151.
good guy, funny at times yet very monotone. quizes are tough but tests are easy if you study, relativly easy B, hard A unless you study a good bit or are very good at math
Lets you skip the final if you have a 94 by then, which is well worth the effort. Easier if you have prior knowledge of calc, but not impossible. Gets off topic, and entertaining.
Great teacher for both Math 150 and 151. Quizzes tend to be a little difficult, and tests are fairly difficult too. Funny and good at teaching. Don't come to class sleepy - attend classes and pay attention.
Slowikowski was a good teacher. Very clear in what he was explaining. No suprises. The quizzes are quite difficult, but the test are not so hard. The final...study a lot.
Totally amazing professor! He simplifies the material so it's understandable, his quizes aren't that bad, his tests are very fair. Pay attention in class, take notes, study the notes. Definitely one of the best professors I've had, very approachable :-)
Precalc was so easy with him. He explains things clearly and thoroughly prepares you for calc. No final if you have a 95%! Also counts homeworks toward your grade so exams aren't worth as much. go to class and it's an easy b, if not a.
This class starts off easy, but get really hard really fast. You better get A's on the first exam and the first few quizzes to balance out your grade at the end of the semester. He is a good teacher, but he always puts tricky questions on the exams and quizzes. Watch for those...
Really cool teacher. Extremely clear in his expectations. Tests can be challenging but afterall it is a somewhat challenging subject in my opinion to begin with. If you want you can only go to class on friday when he has all tests/quizzes. Incredibly knowledgable for being a football coach. He also grades easy and curves tests sometimes.
Love the professor. I HATE THE COURSE
funny guy. course is hard to begin with so dont expect it to be an easy class unless ur willin to learn. he's a good teacher but uses most of his examples from da book so sometimes u dont even need to go to class. great teacher, he even lets us go leave early
Slowikowski is a funny guy. He loves math, is very sarcastic and humorous. He teaches you what you need to know, and prepares you for his quizzes. Quizzes are straight from the homeworks. Tests are harder, but he works with you. Final was hard, but I somehow managed to end up with a B in class. I would definatly take him again for math!
Took the calculus class. Attendance is not mandatory. Quizzes every friday. Exams are pretty much based on quizzes. No Curve.HW can be a pain. But not as bad as tighe. Take him.
Really wants you to do well. His final was incredibly hard, I think I answered half the questions, and still I managed a B with a C going into the final. Excellent teacher who cares if you understand the material and if you are doing well. He slowed down our class at times so that we could spend more time on tough topics. Great teacher.
Best calc teacher ever. He's just an all around good guy, all his quizzes and tests are straightforward. If you can keep an A average during the year you can get exempted from the final. I'm taking Calc 2 now just because of him.
Slowikowski is one of the easiest teachers I've had at UMBC. The class was at 8:45 so everyone was dragging but he would start off with some dry humor. Very easy, grading wise. Study the in class problems for the quizzes and study a little for the tests. I NEVER did any of the homework problems and got a 100% in the class. Plus, no final!
Had Doc Slowikowski a few semesters ago for Calc I, and he was ultimately the BEST math teacher I ever had the pleasure of having. Explains stuff well so it's easy to understand without any of the mathematics gobbly gook, and is ALWAYS happy to answer questions no matter how trivial. Great guy and hilarious. He will crush you in poker btw. :)
This class is intended for people who do not really want to be in it, and that is how he taught it. He took the time to make sure everyone understood and was incredibly helpful. He slowed down at many points because we just weren't getting the material instead of blazing through and not caring. Overall, and awesome professor.
I wish he taught calc 3!! Great teacher, especially for people who are not majoring in math. Taught in a very practical way. Tests are straightforward. Some quizzes have problems that were assigned for homework, so if you've figured it out by quiz time you're in luck. Attended every class because his explanations are better than the book.
This professor is completely fair. Homework completely relates to examples given in class, quizzes are based off of examples or homework problems, and the tests well, if you study a good amount for them you'll be fine. (Prepare to take a quiz every week for the entire semester btw.) Very kind man who is willing to help you.
best teacher ive had.....his 152 class in my opinion is a little bit easier than 151 but his explanations are very clear and the tests are fair.. too bad he doesnt teach calc 3 becuase i would probably take it with him
Very easy going. goes over information slowly. class is very fair
AWESOME GUY! Not a typical math professor at all; he's more like your grandfather. Likes to talk about sports and non-math related things to ease up the class. You'll love his class, it's really clear and he actually breaks down the material for you. Grading is very fair; the final is brutal but there seems to be a curve. Highly reccomended.
I wish everyone could have him as their math prof. Very helpful, patient and nice, even when I had this very stupid girl in my class who asked the MOST redundant questions. Willing to stay after classes, etc. Easygoing, and always level-headed. Wierd sense of humor but then he's a math PhD
If you have a choice, def. pick Slowikowski for calc 1. His tests and quizzes are extremely easy and how does not assign much homework. He is a great professor and if he was teaching calc 2 i would def. pick him again! If you have a 94 at the end of the semester then you dont have to take the final! overall, great professor and easy class!
Level headed teacher, focuses on key concepts. He's never too stringent. Tests and quizzes are just right difficulty. Homework is a bit annoying, you have put alot of time into it. Watch out for chapter 4 "Optimization problems" and chapter 6 "Shells and disks." Those are a bit of a killer. ;)
Very good instructor. One of the better one's I've had at UMBC. Throws some curves on the exams so you need to know the information, but the way he teaches the material that was never a problem.
best teacher ive had. easy to understand and very helpful. the math department is doing away with not taking the final but it used to be that if you had a 95 you were exempt from the final. im taking him for calc also. homework is not mandatory in pre but is helpful in understanding material
He really goes above and beyond to help students
Awesome teacher! We did 10 quizzes, he drops the 2 lowest. Questions on them were basic, he didn't try and mix you up with numbers, he tests you on your knowledge of the procedure. Three exams, a lot of the exam questions were almost identical to questions from the past 2 quizzes. Final exam was made by another teacher, was difficult.
Attendance is important, his notes are neat and clear. HW counts as part of the grade, quizes every monday(mostly). I did not take the final and still got a B, so not that bad.
he was a good teacher. his examples were clear but he would only do about 1 to 2 examples. the reason why i got a b was because i didnt do the hw problems. since it wasnt required i didnt have the patience to attempt the problems.
Class is easy, lectures are clear (he simplifies the textbook), and funny. Often uses spare time to show interesting math concepts. Drops 2 lowest quizzes, 3 exams plus final. Exams are somewhat tricky, just do a lot of practice problems to get an A. If you suck at math or just want a straightforward professor, take this guy for precalc and calc
Wonderful teaacher. Learned alot. Quizzes and test straight forward. Very easy. ALways there to help even when not office hours.
Very simple class if you understand all the tests you have to use and when to use them. No homework, drops a test or two. Go to discussion, it helps.
Eh. If this is your last math class then go on and take him because he is easy, but if this isn't your last math class then you will have troubles later on. Honestly, the only time I really ever learned was in discussion. His class is straight from the text.
awesome teacher. straightforward class. only reason it was EASY is because there was never any question as to what you had to know. great professor.
Mr.Slowikowski is an awesome guy. He is as friendly as anyone can be, and he teaches well. I would recommend that everyone sign up for this class. I just cannot emphasize how great this guy is in all ways... he is an extraordinary teacher. You will not regret taking this class, unless you are the kind of person who regrets taking amazing courses.
I didn't pass this class. I am really bad at calc and just gave up after doing horribly on the tests. I don't know how everyone else finds it so easy because I just couldn't get it. He is a really nice guy though, I just don't understand calc.
BEST prof. in the math department. This guy is crystal clear on what you expect to see on the test. Basically tells you what's on it before each tests. Highly RECOMMEND!
Definitely try to take this class. It is not hard because tests come straight from what he goes over in class. He is really nice and friendly.
This is one professor to try to get. He's super nice and friendly. He goes over the material very succinctly and tells exactly what is going to be on the tests. His class is easy because he lets you know exactly what material is going on.
Great professor! His lectures are very clear. The exams and quizzes are very much doable which goes hand in hand with his lectures. Recommended!
If you are not a math person, take this guy. He is extremely nice and his tests are extremely easy. You have to study, but the tests are straightforward. No tricks. Take notes in class, sometimes he asks the same problems on the test that he went over in class. Drops some quizzes and HW's. There is no excuse for getting at least a B.
Calculus isn't fun or easy but it comes very close with this professor. He's very nice, very clear and easy to understand in his lectures. He lets you know exactly what to expect on exams, so there aren't any surprises. Definitely recommended.
Definitely try to get him as a calc teacher. Tests are straightforward :).. He's a really good teacher.
Slowikowski is a really good teacher... if you can stay awake in his class. He tries to make class interesting with jokes, but his voice will put many to sleep. Thankfully his exams are easy if you study and he grades easily. The final is not made by him and many have trouble with it. I think he curves a bit even though he says he does not.
Easy Prof
Slowikowski is really nice, easy going professor. He tests on exactly what he teaches in classes and is straight forward. This is an easy class, and doesn't require too much work.
Bad teacher, does not give any help. Talks to the board and doesn't explain anything. If you haven't taken calculus before take professor Tighe.
Decent professor that takes a lot of time returning material and is hard to reach. Useful and effective when teaching and tests are pretty good. may sometimes fall asleep.
You definitely want to take him if you dont want to put too much effort in the class, you are guaranteed a B in the class if you do very well on the exams and quizzes. although you may be a lil disappointed on the final exam because tighe is very hard. He is quite easy but not as hard as tighe. But goodluck staying awake in class.
I really love this man! He such a good professor. He is very witty and a little sarcastic. But for the most part he explains everything so that when its time for an exam or quiz you will be okay! Wish more teachers taught as well as him!
He is very straightforward, and his quizzes are easy. Tests are not bad, either, but you need to prepare more on your own because he does not cover topics in class with very much depth. The final exam is a killer, though (b/c he's not the only one writing it). All my classmates' had expressions of panic when we first saw it. It was gruesome.
I HATE Math but needed it for general requirement. Prof. Slowikowski made a boring subject very interesting. Likes to make jokes and tries to engage his students. Doesn't really say anything when people talk over him, which is annoying because he deserves respect and it's usually the same people that ask questions he just answered.
Old guy, but is slightly funny. Should at least skim the book a bit if you want to get an A in the class. Not too hard, and a lot easier than Ms Tighe but you don't learn as intensely as in Ms Tighe's class. I took calc AB in highschool so not too hard but there are new materials learned in class. I feel as if my class is a little behind...
He's really slow. Homework is always assigned chapter ahead of his lectures, which is annoying. Quizzes are easy, exams are a bit tougher. He's way to quiet though, very hard to hear him. He never answers his emails and is often off his schedule. A very nice old man, but not a very good professor.
He is always at least 7 minutes late to every lecture. His quizzes are fairly easy but he makes test much more difficult. During his lecture, he goes over problems straight out of the book. He tries to keep students engage by telling drinking jokes. If the class is ready to leave, everyone stands up and leaves, and he doesn't say anything. He's okay
I signed up for his class because none of the Math 151 classes fit my schedule, and I was really surprised by how great a teacher he is. He's a really nice guy, and explains everything in detail. He can be a bit quiet, so sit close to the front. I feel like he doesn't get the respect that he deserves; he uses jokes to make math more interesting.
He's so sweet! Very charming and engaging. He's just a cool, laid-back dude. The exams are challenging if you don't know exactly what you should be studying. If you have the concepts down though, you should be good. His personality makes the class enjoyable.
If you need the STAT121 class, look no further. The man is very helpful, and his exams and quizzes weren't even hard. Make notes of the terms, and any examples he gives in class. Also, keep a list of the formulas, as most of them will be on the cumulative final. TL;DR: TAKE HIS CLASS!
He is an excellent teacher for this class. Despite what one of the people on here said, the TAs were incredibly helpful. They covered exactly what would be on quizzes and exams in discussion, it's just that people never went. As for the cheating that was mentioned on here, the TAs were well aware that it was going on and wrote down names...
This class was fairly ez & this is coming from sum1 who is terrible @ math. I do advise you sit near the front, he has a soft voice which made staying awake a bit hard. The TA i had was awesome, what i didnt understand in lecture, i learned in discussion. The quizes were ez, as well as the midterm. The final was very difficult so study a lot!!
Horrible lectures, TA's never taught what the professor mentioned, Unorganized, non supportive. The department is not worth it ( at least for lower levels) and most people cheat in this class anyway. I say go to a different school or branch to get a better chance to pass and graduate.
Very hard to understand, roundabout lectures, unclear expectations. The material itself is easy but what's in the book, what's taught in class, and what's on the quizzes/tests are all completely different.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A STUDY GROUP, and at least a couple of smart people in it, and review 45 minutes before every quiz. I got C's and D's on my quizzes before I did that, then I started to get all B's & up. He's a chill guy, but he's hard to understand when he just lectures. He curves pretty generously as well ;D
OMG so easy. Hes a really good teacher. Some of the stuff might be confusing, but when you go up and talk to him about it he is really helpful. HW online thats not checked for accuracy. Quizzes every week are nice so that you know if youre getting it or not. 3 exams, lenient on partial credit. Yea, Id recommend him
This class was fairly easy. Don't get me wrong the material is not that simple. You do have to study and sometimes for a couple of hours especially if you do not know anything about statistics coming into the class like me. Overall, I recommend the taking the class with him. He's fair and the exams and quizzes are easy if you study.
Everything but the exams and lectures were done online. He has a completely different teaching style than what you're taught online which makes his exams very difficult. He briefly reviews formulas in class but expects you to already know them. Overall, he is not helpful. Good luck if math is not your strong point. I wouldn't take him again.
Loved this professor. He is a hilarious guy with many jokes. Statistics is not a difficult class to understand so the material, quizzes and tests are very easy. If youre not a math major but not a math credit, this is the class for you
Nice guy, jokes around with the class. Tries to make statistic interesting. Lectures are long and boring.
Professor S, was amazing. He explained everything out very well if you didn't understand. I don't like math AT ALL. He made it clear and gave a short problem after every example he wrote on the board to make sure you UNDERSTOOD IT. Just do the practice pages he give you and you're good!
Boring, unclear lectures with quizzes and tests every week.
While not a bad professor, the classes are often enormous, and he is a quiet speaker. I could hardly hear him half the time. I've had him in two math courses and I've struggled to get Cs in both ( and I'm usually straight As.) Be prepared to teach all the material to yourself, and only show up when there are quizzes by the end.
I have taken this class with another professor and was failing. This professor is absolutely amazing. He makes the content so easy to understand. I was really worried about this class, but I'm glad I took it with him. Quizzes and exams are right from the lecture material. Don't bother with the book. No surprises. Final is a departmental exam.
Great teacher! I took 215 with him and I really enjoyed his class. He lectures clearly. His tests and quizzes covered all topics said in class. He grades fairly as well. Take 215 with him if you can
Prof. Slowkowski is a super clear, easy to follow professor. He does not overcomplicate the content.I recommend reading the textbook because if you understand the material from there you really don't have to go to his lectures. However, if you are unclear on anything the lectures will help. Do well on quizzes and exams bc they're the only grades!
He's such a sweet professor! Attendance is not technically mandatory, but going to class helps! He sometimes does math magic tricks during class and it always makes my day! If you do the homework and attend discussion you will pass the weekly quizzes with ease, the two lowest quiz scores are dropped! The exams are worth a lot of points so study!
"Old-school" chalkboard lectures and homework assignments out of the textbook. A nice change from everything being online. I still don't know how to pronounce his name, but I know the MA215 material. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. Speak up if you have questions, he's hard of hearing.
One of the worse professors I've ever had. He's very old school, chalk board, type. This wouldn't be so bad if he actually was more organized w/ his "notes" on the board. He's hard to follow & understand. His notes aren't clear enough to follow for studying after class. We also had nothing else to help our grade but quizzes/tests. Avoid if you can
he is a great professor . he is old school. You will have to do with paper and pen. essay grader all you need to do is to take note and review it for the quizzes and the exams.
He teaches old school with a blackboard and chalk, but it's effective. Most people skip his class and can maintain B's but the class is pretty worthwhile so just go. His exams are fine. His quizzes are easy, but they're worth about 25-26 points with 4 questions, so if you don't mess up then you're good.
This class is terrible. There is a lot of material that is covered very quickly. We have class every Monday and Wednesday. There are quizzes nearly every Wednesday, leaving little time to breathe. Discussion sessions w/the TA are worthless because he and the TAs barely communicate at all and my discussion is on Wednesdays right AFTER the quiz.
Awesome professor! Explains material very well but there is a quiz almost every Wednesday so going to the lectures on Monday are essential although technically not mandatory.
Friendly old man. Loves kraft mayo and ford trucks. I took AP stat senior year so I already knew everything so the class was super easy. I didn't pay attention in lectures and did fine.
Im generally an A/B student, got the IB diploma with no Cs even, but I know Im going to get a C. The exams have wording thats confusing, the TA doesnt help, the teacher talks too softly and doesnt go over things as much as he should. My advice? Go to class and read the book. If you dont teach yourself, you wont pass. AND BE IN A STUDY GROUP!
Gives a quiz a week on Fridays, but they are graded fairly easy and it is a nice way to review for future tests. He is a really nice old man and teaches the content really well(as math teachers go). 3 Tests overall and they are hard, but he lets you make and use a formula sheet.
Professor Slowikowski gives good and thorough lectures that require note-taking. He's also really approachable and will help you outside of class/in his office hours!
Coming from someone who is terrified of math, Slowikowski made statistics palatable. Though it got really difficult around halfway through the course, as long as you attend class and maybe look through the textbook when you need more information on a topic, you should be fine. Very accessible, hangs around after class in case anyone needs to chat.
Professor Slowikowski is a great professor period. Get your work done and youll do great.
I took MATH215 in the winter with him and the experience was well worth it. I learned a lot despite retaking the same course and did better on my quizzes than in my previous class with that other guy -_- Slowikowski knows how to teach and review for exams. He will answer questions and help you understand the material.
l will say this professor is very dedicated to his work. his lectures are pretty clear and concise. His quizzes and exams are pretty straightforward and come right from your lecture notes so there really isn't any surprises. i use the textbook for extra practice to supplement my studying and do each book problem.
Grade is made up only of quizzes + tests. Hw is bonus points. Lenient grader. Great lecturer, teaches everything you need to know for the exams. One of the few profs at UMBC that teach
Super nice guy. You need to keep up on the reading for each class, but he's very good at explaining and simplifying so we understand. Tests every week, so make sure you're always prepared. Lenient grader.
He's dry, but his lectures are straightforward and reflect very well on the quizzes and exams. I would advise taking detailed notes(basically everything he writes) in a notebook for every class, and study them. I received a 95% overall, and the final exam was straightforward but long! he has a pretty funny sense of humor.
Attend class, write down everything he writes, and you will be fine. Read the syllabus CAREFULLY. The class is quite boring but his lectures are easy to follow. He also held multiple review days for the final which will help you.
He is a really nice guy. Its a hard class but if you pay attention, ask questions, and stay in top of the homework you should be fine. He is funny and super sweet.
Reviews mislead me, didn't really like him. IRL lectures i did well, good at teaching but after covid very hard. lectures did not relate to test or quizzes and made it very hard. It a fairly ok class but you do need to work for it, very hard after going online. TA's are no help and are terrible. No extra credit or curves, but he does his job.
He made all the quizzes and exams but if you work as a class it wasn't hard to pass it.
Prof Slowikowski is HiLaRiOuS!!! He makes difficult statistic concepts easy to understand. You can hardly fail his class unless you dont do practice problems after class. His quizzes are not hard. As long as you do your part go to class, study, do practice problems you will get an A.
I can tell Professor Slowikowski would be a good professor in person, but online was not his strong suit. As for work we only needed to complete the online homework and the weekly quizzes. You need to read the textbook to understand anything, which I find is better than trying to understand his lectures. Finding outside tutoring is recommended.
He was a good teacher and explained the material very clearly. Math is not a strong suit for me but he made these concept fairly easy to understand. I would have rated him higher but he made so many mistakes when making the exams and quizzes that made it impossible to get the right answers. He did fix his mistakes as well our grades in the end.
Stat isn't easy for me, but Prof. Slowikowski is pretty good at explaining. Lectures could be a bit dry, but really he goes through each problem step by step. Exams weren't that bad. Writing down the problems as he went through them really helped me.
Professor Slowikowski is a very patient person. He always took his time to explain things, and he was excited when we asked questions if we got confused, I am terrible at math and have hated every math professor I have ever had, but he made the class somewhat enjoyable. The way points are broken down, it is pretty easy to pass the class.
Not much to say really. He is fair. You get what you put into this class, he makes the material very digestible and doesn't bog you down with too many assignments. Pay attention, take notes and follow along in lecture and you'll do well. Skip class and you'll miss a lot of valuable info though. Assignments are all old school paper style.
He is older then my great grandparents. He doesn't know how to add grades into blackboard so you don't know your course grade the entire time. He doesn't grade any papers and leaves that to his TA's. The TA I had didn't know English and graded awfully. I am already preparing to retake this course.
Professor Slowikowski is pretty much your average professor. Quizzes are easy, just pay attention in class and do the homework and reading assignments that he assigns on TopHat. Definitely ask questions in class if you have them because he will go more in depth. The TAs are nice and easy to reach outside of class.
Though attendance isn't mandatory I would highly recommend going so next class you wont be lost. Quizzes are exactly like the questions he goes over sometimes its the same one from the book.
Best math professor I've had at UMBC. Very old school with his ways but explains the content well. Highly recommend
Professor Slowikowski is one of the best professors I have taken. He explained his lecture clearly so everybody could understand what he was doing. If you take good notes in his class, you will pass the class. His notes is the exact same thing as the quizzes. He doesn't change it.
He's honestly a sub-par lecturer. His lectures didn't really help me, so I didn't go. My TA's quiz corrections are also messy and confusing. Some of the concepts are difficult, but not impossible. The ASC tutors for this class were extremely helpful and are helping me survive this class. Also make sure you sit in the front, he talks really low.
Prof Slowikowski is a really nice professor but his lectures weren't really helpful to me. He was always going so fast which makes it harder to take notes and learn the material at the same time. You are required to use tophat as it is where your hw assignments will be.
You should take Prof. S for MA215. He explains material well, and what's in lecture is exactly what's on quizzes and tests. Quiz just about every week, and 2 of 8 are dropped. Lecture normally ends early. Overall, the class was a 10/10 experience.
Even though attendance is not mandatory I would highly recommend going, as long as you pay attention TRUST ME you will pass this class easily. Understand what is going on the first week and everything will become easy from there.
I had a great experience with Professor Slowikowski! The four week course had clear grading criteria with four quizzes and a final. No homework, but recordings were available for review. Studying outside class was crucial. He's very nice and approachable, though sometimes slow to answer emails, adding a fun twist. Highly recommend!
His explanations weren't as clear, which had me doing lots of self-study. Due to his age, he also did not speak clearly which did not help the situation. Thankfully the material wasn't difficult. However, the grading criteria were clear: 6/8 quizzes graded, 2 big homework, midterm & final. Just put in the effort to study and/or try to pay attention
The professor was hit-or-miss. His lectures were fast-paced, but the TAs and ASC tutors were super helpful. unstuckstudy saved me with prepping for exams - way better than struggling with the textbook alone.
He is very old and talks a bit slow but is nice. His lectures are ok, but you can skip a lot and still pass. Laptops in class were used during exams to look at charts, which he didn't mind. The discussion portion was not helpful at all, but attendance is not graded. Your grade comes from hw assignments, quizzes every unit, and midterm/final.
