What an excellent instructor. Makes a very difficult much easier to 'digest'. He has to be one of the best Biology professors. Take him if you have to take the dreaded biology course.
A hard teacher to follow -- Gets on rambling streaks during the middle of discussions, draws loopy diagrams which are hard to decipher. This one's a talker! Take Megaw, much better suited to teach a course as tough as this.

This teacher is horrible - I would not recommend him to anybody. If his teaching skills were as 'polished' as his ego, he'd be great - but his teaching skills are definitely 'lacking!' Would not recommend him to anybody!
Gets off subject, lots of studying
Very hard teacher to understand, doesn't go over half the material in his exams.
If your choice is between Megaw and Tyler, choose Tyler because taking Megaw is the equivalent of spending 4 months in hell. Tyler's cool, the tests aren't so bad. Try him out.
His oceanography class is really easy. The study guide cover the test. He gives notes online. you really don't have to attend the class
dr tyler seems like a good teacher but eveything he says is kind of repetivitve and nothing that is in the notes that were outlined very well seemed to be on the tests.
Dr. Tyler is a good professor, however he is not suited to teach students who need alot of pampering, he has more of a university style of teaching. I would reccomend that anyone wanting to transfer to university take his class!

Dr. Tyler is awesome, super knowledgeable, and a awesome help in understanding what you can't grasp on your own. Good teacher, makes it very easy to learn bio. Id take him for every class if I could!
Mr. Tyler is really nice. He makes the class interesting but the tests are really hard!
His class is hard and boring!!!!!!!! The notes he gives dont help u at all for test, they only tell what he is going to say next in lecture. Dont even consider taking bio as a tv class, if u do take a pillow!!!!! He is not a good teacher, problems expressing himself!!!!
Class is boring!!! He cant teach! He treats students poorly.
He tries to make it interesting, but the subject itself is very dull. The exams are very hard. you need to take notes and study his notes to pass the class.
Good professor, easy to talk to.
excellent professor, very easy to talk to, has no problem answering questions, does not matter how many times you ask. makes learning fun.
Tyler is a nice guy, and he tryes, but I agree with the ratting above...His exams are HARD!!! notes arent all that great, and he kind of rambles on and on.He is also very slow, we were way behind in class, which made it hard to keep up in lab.
GOOD TEACHER BUT HARD. It wasnt so bad in bio 1- got an A but in bio 2 (oh my lord) very hard. The class average was a low 'C.' Dont take him for bio 2 because you wont get a good grade...a hard teacher + a hard course= too much stress.
His tests are very hard and the notes are poor. The class is boring and he likes to talk about himself a lot. You will be in class for the whole 2 1/2- 3 hrs.
Excellent teacher, has all notes and lectures posted on website. Easy to approach with questions and is very fun in class. VERY HARD exams, but is fair in curving grades + throws away questions if too many people miss them.
Not a good teacher. Very hard.
very good proffesor but very hard. you must study his notes
this class is very hard. tyler wasn't a bad teacher it's just that the material he covered was way too much to remember. he expects his students to study 6-9 hours per week for his class.
Tyler is really a nice guy, but he has REALLY hard test. He covers TONS and TONS of information but hardly any of it is on the test. He picks very detailed questions. We covered 5 chapters and we had only 50 questions. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS INTERESTED.
very confusing... cant stay on topic
Good professor. Bad, bad subject . . .
just beware of the final u have to THINK as opposed to memorizing facts u cud memorize the book verbatim but it will do no gud unless u put your mind in 'scenario' mode while studying in order to answer the ?s there is probably a huge "curve" on the final tho so you may b pleasantly surprised w/ur final grade only complaint is he doesnt say wat to study for each test, has dyslexia n sometimes he mixes things up
Very hard, a lot of lecturing, he's a great teacher but its very hard to pass his class the test are really hard. he doesn't go over anything on the test you basically study on your own I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!!! DON'T TAKE!
That was a VERY VERY hard class. Don't take unless you have to. Many chapters to cover, and the tests are very very hard... he always drops 5 to 10 questions from the test.
Good teacher. Very enthusiastic on subject. All the material is in the notes. I was scared to take this class in the summer but I got a B++ and really didn't try too hard.
awsome teaching style. he wont let you fall asleep.
very hard grader. unclear in lectures.
VERY HARD CLASS. information is very un clear and un comprehensible
To begin on a positive note, Dr. Tyler was very enthusiastic about what he taught. It was obvious he knew his matierial, however; the class itself was extremely difficult. Basically you must memorize EVEYTHING for tests. There are no study guides. There are very detailed questions on the tests that seem impossible to answer correctly. VERY HARD.
First, Dr. Tyler is very nice and tries to keep the class interesting, he knows what he is doing BUT, this IS the HARDEST classes i have ever taken. Does give small curve on all tests but it is a tough class, try to avoid is possible atleast get another teacher
great instructor, makes the difficult sound simple
I have taken ocenography, marine ecology, and the labs, with Dr.Alshuth and I have always had A's, I took marine biology with Tyler and barely passed, he is a terrible teacher and gives an unbareable amount of work. His exams are impossible. If you want to take any kind of marine science, take Dr. Alshuth or anybody except Tyler!!
I had Professor Tyler for my lab class and beaware it will probably not be him teaching the lab class. My teacher was switched during the semster and this was a VERY challenging to go from teacher to teacher. Nobody cared about the effort I put forth to come to class. I am an A student...I DO NOT RECCOMEND TAKING HIM.
very hard class we had to cover way to much material for 6 weeks express class. also to much to know for non science majors.. this class was taught on a higher level in my opinion. he even messed up on exam 4 for example and forgot that it was the wrong test from another edition so he had to credit us points due to his negligence.
Dr Tyler is tough, if you're looking for an easy A look elsewhere. If you're looking for a passionate, dedicated instructor that really wants you to learn, hes a good choice. His tests are tough but he does give some easy questions too.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! YOU WILL NOT GET A GOOD GRADE, HE MAKES THE TESTS OUTRAGEOUSLY HARD!!!! THIS CLASS IS SETUP FOR YOU TO FAIL. HE IS A BAD TEACHER AND YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THE SEVERITY OF HIS LACK OF HELP/CLARITY ESPECIALLY UNTIL YOU TAKE THE FIRST TEST, TAKE MY ADVICE, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER, HE IS OUT TO MAKE YOU FAIL, I PROMISE!!
Dr. Tyler is very enthusiastic and makes his class's very interesting. This makes it very easy to pay attention in his classes. He explains every thing very clearly. His tests are not that easy but they are bearable. I would definitely take him again.
oh well, i dont know y pple re saying he is tough, but for me, i think he is easy. i took oceanograpy with him and it was easy. all u nid to do is to study his powerpoint and follow d way he gave to study. i had A+ in his class.
Missed the last few chapters we were supposed to cover. I took a TV class, and he could at times be hard to follow. He is very enthusiastic though. If you work hard you can do well in his classes.
Tyler expects you to know stuff about Biology as if you just took it in Highschool. Most of us have been out of highschool for years. If he could just speak English maybe we could understand him. He needs to slow down during lectures and give you a chance to ask questions. I do not recommend.
Recieved no feed back on any of my inquiries. Tests were a lost cause unless one spent DAYS studying
What a horrible teacher. It seems all he wants to do is prove to all his classes that he knows his stuff, well awesome for you Mr. Tyler but your here for your students...
His Oceanography class was a lot easier than Biology 2. He is a very nice teacher, know what he is talking about. You cant procrastinate in this class. The test are hard, but if you study, you should pass the class.
I took this class online and during the summer semester. He is very fair about the amount of work given. I thought his class was pretty easy overall and I would recommend hime to anyone taking a science class.
If you want to teach yourself take this teacher. He explains everything very good BUT you need time to read, and know the material good enough before going to class.
This teacher is really hard, he does not give test reviews and for each chapter he gives study guides with 60+ vocab words 15+ questions, which don't help much for the tests
he made the class enjoyable. he gives small hints about some questions on the tests and if you pay attention to the online quizzes some of the same questions shows up on the tests, not very many though
Fun, Smart, Easy to talk too. Bio 2 is generally a hard class, but he makes it as easy as it can be. Take him if you have the option.
This clss is the hardest class I have ever taken. Dr. Tyler is a nice, personable prof., but he is too detailed oriented & his exams are extremely hard. I got an "A" in Bio. I with an admirable amount of effort put forth. I put triple the amount of effort in this class & walked away with a "B". There were only three "A's", choose another prof. if

Dr. Tyler is very helpful. He really cares about his students.Take this class online. Everytime I needed help he always responded quickly.
Dr. Tyler is a funny cool teacher but his Bio course is very detailed. If you study the material you will get a passing grade. He does curve the tests, depending on the questions most people missed. He is also very helpful.
Okay teacher. He is funny and a pretty nice guy. He puts all his notes online(don't bother buying textbook). Tests are multiple choice and easy if you study the material. During class he sometimes goes on about pointless stuff, sometimes for nearly 15 minutes. He knows his stuff though! overall, i wouldn't mind taking him again.
lots of power points and writing. kinda boring and i didn't enjoy the class.
great teacher, passionate baout biology! patient and flexible, doesn't rush through ideas just to cover them, looks for comprehension
OKAY, so... Biology II itself is hard not Prof. Tyler. There is alot of material to be covered so studying is literally an every night deal. Prof. Tyler is always in his office and more than happy to show you your grades, tests scores, errors, and talk to you about where biology can take you. HE KNOWS HIS STUFF- and LOVES what he does.
Tyler is an amazing bio teacher.Hes funny, passionate, and takes your education seriously. Go to class and your set. Rarely cracked the book and it was only for the online quizzes. Got a B in the class. If you are serious about bio there isnt anyone else you should take it with.
He can be a hard teacher but he's super nice! He really cares about his students and if you ask him for help he will help you. No matter how long it takes for you to understand it, he will take the time out for you to get it. He curves grades. Takes off questions on tests. I passed with a "C." I'd take him again. He knows what he's talking about!
I have no idea why people have written such mean comments about Dr. Tyler! He is a SUPERIOR teacher! I took him for Bio I and I'm interested in taking him again for Biology II. He DOES curve grades, take questions off tests and he truly cares about his students! I recommend him! I passed with a C! He really loves Biology and truly loves teaching 2!
People need to back off Dr. Tyler because hes the most passionate Bio teacher IRSC has! He makes this corny jokes but atleast he interacts with his class! Just because he doesnt hand out easy A's dont label him as a bad teacher. How can ppl be upset because HE DOES HIS JOB?! Great Prof. not an easy 'A' but I earned an 89.something and I got an 'A'
Took online class during the summer. Was ALOT of reading and studying during the summer but I really enjoyed the course. Dr.T was extremely helpful. Responded to e-mails timely. He cares about students. Did curve grades. I passed with an "A". Would def take him again. Had 4 online exams. 1 midterm & 1 final @ testing center. Provided study guides.
Professor Tyler?s class is enjoyable and he is very helpful, but he takes a lot of time to explain a small amount of information. Biology is a difficult course no matter who you take but there are many more skilled lecturers then Tyler in the biology department.
Doc Tyler is an awesome, passionate and funny professor who loves teaching and science. I had him for an Oceanography course as well as Upper Level Ecology. Hands down my favorite prof. from IRSC - he even got me a job at Harbor Branch Oceanography Institute. If you love science, definitely take a class with Doc, you won't regret it.
Not at all, before I take any class I will now be check stats first. I took this class online he never emails, he does not use any of the resources to make class easier, honestly he just got paid to put some stuff online. read and test that's it.
Professor Tyler is great. He does his best to keep the lectures interesting but the amount of material is overwhelming. Whether you take him or another professor you have to read the chapters and study nonstop. The biggest thing leading to an A in this class is MEMORIZATION. His tests are not bad if you know your material. The class is whats hard.
Dr Tyler's clas is difficult but he wants the students to excel. You can not slack in this class-it covers quite a bit of material in a short time(summer). Would recommend him to everyone but remember you must be prepared to do the work. He makes the learning interesting.
Dr. Tyler is a great teacher! He cares about his students and replies to questions quickly. Tests are easy to pass if you take notes and read the book.He will drop your lowest test grade and allows you to take online quizzes as many times as you want. His lectures aren't boring because he loves his job.
Great prof. Easy to listen to and is very enthusiastic about the material. Provides a lot of resources to help you. There was a lot of information to remember in the class (bio 2) so make sure to take notes and read through the book.
Great teacher, dont buy the book, test multiple choice, very interesting stuff. I got a C in his class & I had no clue as to what I was doing.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had! Took his class online. Asked for extra help and was ignored. Stay far away! No matter how hard you try in his class, he won't answer your emails and doesn't care.
He's the best teacher I've ever had. He really made me thing about biology. I apply his class to the real world more than any other class I've had. Take his class if you want to learn. Don't take his class if you want an easy A. His tests are difficult and you will have to study a lot to get a good grade. Don't go around disturbing sea cucumbers.
Not bad, he explains the material very well, keeping even the most easily distracted student paying attention. Don't buy the book though, we never used it. All his noted are online. Tests are fairly easy if you study. Overall a good teacher.
I am going to be Totally Honest, I love Science but he taught on a level that would make you cry of frustration. His test as sooo damn tricky, almost like he is setting you up to fail. love his energy but I don't like to fail. no book needed PowerPoint's his as off. flash cards needed only grades test no retake no extra credit no homework. GUD Luck
This guy makes wanting to know more about Biology very difficult he explains information as if you already have a maters degree in Biology. I understood better using YouTube. Thought that the bad reviews where just being a sourpuss but in actuality he fit their words. if you don't understand Biology in DEPHT take someone that can explain better.
RUN!!!!!! test are tricky, no extra credits and trying to understand Biology with him will make your head pop. Just when I studied for hour on end I still failed 2 test out of 4 not including the final. I had to withdraw to save my GPA. followed by half of the class. That says something if half the whole class leaves. Good Luck if you take him.
Nice man, lectures are actually a bit helpful, has useless study guides and powerpoints, his tests are extremely difficult, you will most likey end up getting a c or d. Do not recommend!!!!
HARD professor. Tests are nearly impossible and go much more in depth than what is taught in class through his Powerpoint presentations. You really have to understand and grasp the readings from the textbooks to understand the tests, which you more of have to infer answers using contest clues. I would suggest avoiding!
He is the most passionate teacher Ive ever had!If you dont understand he is more than happy to answer your questions. His tests come from the BOOK (although he only uses PPT during class)There is no extra credit but if you do the quizzes online, they are easy 100. Also he uses the quiz questions on the tests.
Class has lots of information to learn. Seems difficult at first but comes together in the end. Dr. T is a very enthusiastic teacher and is willing to help even during exams. Class study hints: listen to lecture, read chapter, study the power point for review(multiple times). Do these things in that order and you'll enjoy Dr. T's class with an A!
To sum things up,this class is hard and Pro. Tyler makes it that much harder. Avoid this teacher at all cost. Test are the only thing he grades and they are all extremely challenging no extra credit no retakes drops lowest test grade.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS CLASS IS HARD, HARD, AND I MEAN HARD HIS TEACHING BIOLOGY IS EVEN HARDER. IF YOU CAN SELF TEACH THEN HE IS YOUR GUY IF NOT KEEP IT MOVING TO SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR GRADE
He is honestly a great professor, his test are easy if you study. Drops one test and clarifies any questions you might have. Would take him again any time! Seriously worth it.
Super Hard!!!!!!! Left this class in a hurry. Good luck if you take him.
Any science class will be challenging in college but professor Tyler made it super stressful. I am a pretty good test taker, but his test where always nothing he prepared you for, over a1000 flash cards where made and only about 3 where on the test. NEVER AGAIN. I would suggest Bartow for lab and Fisher for let. :-)
Dr. Tyler is passionate about biology and he's pretty funny BUT if you want to pass biology stay away from this teacher. His tests are NOTHING that he says it will be. The kids that had just taken bio in high school were the only ones to pass, barely. His test questions are just ridiculous. My advice is RUN! Had to drop his class.
He really gives you every resource he can!
Very nice, helpful, up front professor! Lectures are detailed, and tests reflect that. But you have options on what questions you want to answer, so you can pick what you know. Gives great feedback on tests and the final paper. Grading criteria is available to clear. Paper can be tough, but he walks you through it. Funny and witty lectures!
I have Dr Tyler now. I love him. He is so animated in his lectures, it makes them interesting and not boring. He does grade a bit tough but no more than any one else.
He gives four tests and drops the lowest score, but the tests are pretty difficult (30 multiple choice). Has one assignment worth 30% of your grade, but it's pretty simple (all of the answers are online). His lectures are LONG and you need to stay the entire time. If you show up to every class, you'll get an extra 16% onto your grade.
Kept me interested throughout every lecture. He is well spoken, friendly, and very passionate about the subject he teaches. His exams should not be difficult for anyone who makes an effort and utilizes his powerpoints and online quizzes. If you are interested in biology and willing to study, you should definitely take professor Tyler's class.
When I first started this class, I was a bit taken back by his huge study guides. I soon found out that just reading the book straight was the best option for me. All of the class is just reading the text book and taking tests. The book gets boring and sometimes confusing, but Professor Tyler responds really fast to any questions or concerns.
Good professor but not for me. If you know nothing about Biology, skip this professor. Tests are difficult. Lecture is confusing.
Dr. Tyler is super enthusastic about Biology, it's his passion. He has a tendency to go really fast and the material is pretty tough. I took him for bio 2 lecture and had to work for my B, and I'm usually an A student. His tests are 50 questions long and go quite into detail. NO EXTRA CREDIT!! Final is culmative. Tough class but good teacher!!
He is very friendly, and passionate about the material. However, he seems overwhelmed with too much to teach in a little amount of time. The study guides are insanely long and the tests are difficult. The online assignments take HOURS. He ALWAYS makes you stay in class until literally the minute class time ends, sometimes even a few minutes past.
Dr. Tyler is a great professor. His lectures were recorded so you could watch them from home. It was a good amount of work, but he tells you what you need to know. I bought the book, however, I didn't use it much. I just focused on his powerpoints and lectures and got an A. I repeat though, this course is not an easy A.
Some profs. age like wine, some all the way to vinegar. Dr. Tyler means well but his rambling and frequently off topic lectures leave a lot to be desired. I found him difficult to follow and never quite knew what to expect for his frequent and long tests. Clearly, this was a one time experience for me.
He is a good professor. Yes his lectures are long and if you are not interested in this subject then it is 2x as long. But he is very clear on what you need to know for tests which are from his power-points and not that difficult. And then there is a presentation and an online assignment. Offers EC on exams and through attendance. I recommend him
Professor William is Great!!!! if you are taking him with easier classes. I took him alone and I manage to get an A in both Lab and lecture. Wonderful Teacher. Interested in what he teaches and he is willing to help.
Really cool professor, but definitely mandatory that you study for his tests. He teaches from PowerPoint, which are helpful, so pay very close attention to the smallest details on the PowerPoint. His slides on PowerPoint are quite extensive, almost 45-70 slides per chapter. You do need the book to get access to Connect assignments.
He was really fun during lecture and was very enthusastic about teaching. He is really reasonable and willing to help. His test were hard but if you study the study guides he provides you will do good on the test.
I found Dr. Tyler to be an overall really great professor. His passion and enthusiasm for the subject made his lectures interesting and captivating. He'd crack some good jokes at times, and shared cool personal stories that were always relevant to what we were learning. He is willing to work with you and help you out if you are struggling.
Professor Tyler was pretty great! I really enjoyed his class and lectures. BUT, his test are SUPER difficult, even though he dropped questions and makes extra credit questions. And, all you have for the class is Connect and Tests, which don't help much. The subject is very "dry", which makes it worst.
Dr. Tyler is an awesome professor. He is always willing to help if you need it. His lectures make the material interesting. If you do the work, you will get a good grade. I would definitely take Dr. Tyler for other classes in the future.
Science is not my strongest subject but he was an amazing teacher. Gives you packets for every chapter to study off of & they most definitely help. Has great lectures, keeps you entrained, & very informational. He knows what he is teaching & can answer question well. Overall caring & helps as much as he can.
Course is designed to make you earn a C. Tries to make everything exciting by screaming the "exciting parts". If you arent a good studier or test taker: avoid, avoid, avoid. Attendance not mandatory unless you want to pass.
Nice guy who is really enthusiastic about the material. He is good at explaining what he means and is eager to clarify or answer questions. Emails you back quickly but I found it hard to study for his tests. It was so much material it was hard to know which parts he would put on his exam. He can be quite wordy as well.
I took this online class. The professor always got back to me really late. So much reading and studying. This was one of my harder classes.
Professor Tyler is a really nice guy and also extremely smart, but that being said he seemed way too advanced to be teaching at IRSC. I struggled through this class although I am a straight A student. First C I ever received in college.
If you know how to study material and actually understand organisms and their systems, you will do just fine in this class. Dr. Tyler is fantastic, but if you do not study or put the effort in then you will not do well.
Do the worksheets and study And you will pass
Dr. Tyler is a great professor. He takes the extra step to explain his lectures and the content within them. Tests were not too hard. He gives long worksheets for each chapter and surprisingly, they help a lot with the tests and full comprehension of the content. His time management could be a bit better, but overall a great, caring professor.
Professor Tyler was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is very clear with everything he teaches and answers any questions to the best of his ability. I love that he gives study guide worksheets. They helped with every single test. Lots of coursework but as long as you put time into it, you'll do just fine.
His lectures are very good and he explains things very well. He uses diagram, pictures, and videos. He also makes jokes and has enthusiasm. If you pay attention in class and listen to the lectures, you won't even have to read the textbook. His PowerPoint slides are very detailed and he gives out study sheets, but he does give out 6 tests.
I took an online class over the summer. I sat and worked on this class about 2 hours a day. The tests are difficult and very specific. You have to study for HOURS before a test. 2 of the tests are proctored in the ASC lab, no open notes allowed. So you really have to know your stuff. But overall, with a lot of studying you can get an A.
A really great teacher loves what's he does and gets really into the material loves answering questions and real easy to talk to. Work wasn't hard just had to keep up on it and exams were fairly difficult. Just great class amazing teach !
OCE was by far the most fun class I had ever taken. Mr. Tyler was very understanding and helped me through any issues I had. The grades were well deserved: if you worked hard enough for it, you would get it. He does not require massive amounts of homework or extra work, but still gives plenty of opportunity for a good grade.
Amazing! The amount of knowledge he shares shows that he truly cares about the subject and his profession. He really cares about his student's success, just communicate with him if you have any issues. I ran into a situation, needing an extension, he was willing to work with me to get it turned in. I would definitely take him for every class!
Professor Tyler is a very nice person. He's very funny and helpful. However, he made ecology a lot harder than it needed to be. He's so into his profession that he assumes you are too. His exam are very difficult with 10 multiple choice, 5 short answers and 1 or 2 full essays at the end of the exam. It was a difficult course for no reason.
Bill Tyler was a great teacher. He gave very in depth lectures off of power points and hinted at what was going to be on the test. Beware if you like to skip class to not take his class because although the at home power points are good his lectures help way more. Read the power points before class. Also, he gives extra credit on tests!!
Prof. Tyler is a great instructor and is easy to follow along with since his lectures are enthusiastic. He gives out packets that are due by test day (super helpful study material + easy As) and his tests are relatively easy if you study. Hes fair and very kind. He offers lots of help if you need it. Seriously take him! His class was my fav.
Dr. Tyler is kind and always willing to work through any problems that you have. He gives worksheets that relate to the lesson for homework and the average grade was used to replace your lowest exam score. The exams are challenging, so make sure to study and take good notes. He is goofy and really cares about biology.
Dr. Bill/William Tyler is one of the best college professors I have ever had. He explains topics and ideas very clearly. His anecdotes during lecture are very interesting and related to real-life every day scenarios. Very well respected. You can't go wrong in choosing him as your Biology professor, lecture and/or lab.
Great professor! Very passionate which makes the tests difficult so put a lot of effort into studying. Make lots of flash cards
Makes passing his tests easy, just go to the lecture and do the study guides. One test grade gets dropped and all the study guides average out and can add up equal to a 100% on a test.
Dr. Tyler is a great teacher. He is very clear with his thought process and includes powerpoints to follow along his lectures online. He even records his lectures so that, if you miss class, it's all online for you. Make sure you do his packets. Not only are they for a grade, but they're really great study material.
I took Dr. Tyler this past Fall semester and let me tell you it was the worst decision I ever made. I signed up for his class due to all the good ratings on here which were not true. His exams are very difficult and I did all of the study material which was worthless when it came to test day. SAVE YOURSELF. IF YOU WANT TO PASS DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!
Fantastic professor. Hes super passionate and always there to help! He never makes you feel dumb and always welcomes lots of questions
He's really nice and his lectures are interesting but his test are unbelievably hard. He gives a paper as a test grade and gives A LOT of feedback .h I had to give such a low rating because of his test but he really is a wonderful professor. Take courses with his class that don't require a bunch of work cause you'll need a lot of study time in his
Professor Tyler was a nice person but not the best teacher in my opinion. Although he is very passionate about what he teaches he only went over PowerPoints in class. His class is very fast paced as we went over 1 chapter every class. The assignments for his class were a total waste of time. This was a very difficult class for me.
Worksheets do not directly correlate to the tests. Grades are based off solely on tests and worksheets. The worksheets are "supposed to help you" but it is not formatted like the tests. So I really don't recommend using it as your study aide. His lectures are specific but do not really match the tests either. DON'T TAKE.
His lecture usually ended up being longer than the class. It was a hybrid so all of his lectures were already online by the time you started the semester. It was only about 6 weeks long with lectures every day for about two hours a day and test every 6 lectures or so. He is a very nice guy. very knowledgeable.
AMAZING PROFESSOR LOVED HIS CLASS SO MUCH TAKING ANOTHER ONE NEXT SEMESTER. VERY INTERESTING TOPICS AND NOT BORING. NOT TOO MUCH WORK EASY A+ IF YOU WORK HARD.
moneybagg bill
Over was a good experience. The lab was really enjoy.
I am taking his class for OCB 1000 class in the fall term. Dr. Tyler is a nice teacher and seems to be very passionate with his career in Marine Biology but when it comes to his exams, the study guides don't match with the test itself which is not that good! I am graduating with my Associates this Dec and I do not want to fail this class at all.
He does a few at home exams but they don't ask for much normally, and then of course theres a midterm and final. He's a really great guy though, he wants to try to help at any chance he can get and make sure everyone understands what he's saying. He does get ahead of himself sometimes but its funny when he catches himself. Overall great professor.
