Mr. Kamara has a horrible, thick accent and cannot be understood clearly. The tragedy of the fact he teaches a class in English is compounded by the fact that most of his tests are based off of his lectures, which you can not understand. Taking this class is not a good idea.
Terrible accent, very hard to understand. He tests you over concepts not explained in his lectures. NOT RECOMMENDED

This guy is the most close minded teacher!!!! No matter what your views are, if your not conservative, YOUR WRONG in his eyes!
Didnot teach all he did was tell us stories about polish sausage, African independence, and how cocaine ruins GDP. Horrible, never take his class, drop out to avoid it if you have to.
Mr Kamara is an excellent proffessor. His classes are demanding, challenging and insightful. His teaching style definately sets a good pace for people seeking to transfer to four year colleges. If you are a slacker then dont attempt to take his class, however should you understand the fulfillment in suceeding after hard work then this is your guy
Just had him in Summer II. He is a terrible teacherl!!! Very sloppy teacher. Yells at students if you question him about a grade. Hard to understand. I am a 4.0 student and I barely made an A. If you struggle at all...DO NOT GET THIS TEACHER...DROP THE CLASS ASAP!!!
Fun to listen to. Thought I was going to do well in the class. Never missed one class. Average Test Grades were Below 65 and he didnt grade on a curve. In an 18 person class he gave 10 Ds, 1 A, 2 Bs, 1 C, and 4 Fs. I disputed my grade with the Dean and they said tough luck! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS...I got to UNT and made an A in Economics...
Awesome
He is most Horrible teacher..He know every thing except to teach...
Mr. Kamara is an okay teacher. You have to do a lot of reading on your own and it is probably better because his accent is hard to understand. His reviews do not cover all of what is on the test. The homework was submitted online via Aplia every Sunday night and it was easy. The tests are hard but you have extra credit and an easy budeting project.
Test are based on the review so follow what he says in review class, Assignments are submitted via applia thats a easy part. But u have to go through the book deeply to get good marks in test.
He is the worst teacher I have EVER had. i hope he gets fired, he is terrible, does not help, has a terrible attitude, can't comprehend anything he says, yells all the time, gets mad when you ask a question. Would not recommend him to my worst enemy. I HOPE AND PRAY he is fired and no one has him ever again
This professor should be doing something else in life, he is certainly a demotivating factor if you have any sincere interest in Economics.
Well this guy is ok, but I can not understand anything he says!! And his test?? they are very hard. The Aplia thing that he makes us do, not helping at all. He never gives a break. In my other class, the teacher there gives us a 5 min break. this guy NOO...i do not like him
Not a user-friendly class or teacher. He encourages the class to ask questions but as soon as you do he bites your head off! Those test are ridiculously hard! He doesn't allow you to use notes. It is almost a self-study class. Aplia is unless!
Where to begin? I should have just taken this course online. Going to class was mandatory and affects your final grade >:(. His teaching method is to read off the powerpoint and disregard questions asked by students - -;...whats the point going to class than? Aplia is a joke and sometimes doesn't coincide with lesson plan in class. Stay Away!
Best teacher. I gives more extra points for the people who work hard in its class. He is understandable. You have to pay more attention. He gives real examples, He knows its stuff.
Great professor. His accent isn't that bad. Textbook use is moderate but Aplia is the main form of learning.
Boo this man, boooooooo this man.
He bought a gift for a classmate who made the first 100 on a test in his past 12 years of teaching. He said he even went back to the scantron and checked every bubble to see if she really did get a perfect score. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. IT WILL MAKE YOU HATE ECONOMICS.
This guy is honestly pretty crazy. He yells all the time.
Attended during Sum2. If you do not require a teacher then this is an easy A. All he does, with his annoying thick Nigerian accent, is read off Aplia's Power Point slides as though they were his own. If you have disciple to read and do the Lab homework, you're good. As an economics professor, he is the worst I have ever had.
Mr.Kamara made economics and enjoyable class. He will allow you to miss class if you inform him the day before.I am a high school student who just finished taking his class summer 2.I can testify to you that this class is a sure must. His accent is understandable, and I got an A! As long as you read, and do Aplia, there goes good grade!
I am a high school student taking econ 2301 summer 2 with Mr.Kamara, and I have to say, this class was easy. Most of the students got an A,the tests were kind of hard, but if you read, you were sure to get a good grade. Kamara's accent is understandable. You get 450 points from just doing aplia and attending classs.Minimum of 540 to get A! good Prof
Professor Kamara is an alright teacher; completing assignments via Aplia and attending class is key to getting a good grade. Although his accent is somewhat thick, he's still understandable. If you pay attention to lecture notes (from powerpoints)and read the text, you'll make an A without a problem. Not as hard, or as bad, as students claim.
Stay away. Hard to understand. tests were "eh." I made an A but I have a 4.0. Everyone else failed.
Really cannot understand him. He does not prepare you well with his lectures, thus making his tests hard to pass. No sense of humor at all. Class is very boring throughout.
Prof. Kamara loves Economics and his students. If you read the chapters before the lectures you will score high on his tests. He presents his lectures with passion and a flair towards fun, encouraging debate that relates the chapters to current world events.
He is a nice guy.. however very boring. He has a very thick accent, and you find yourself struggling to listen to what he is saying, rather than what he is actually saying. Going to class is a struggle. I would find another professor... I would and will not take him again.
He is very enthusiastic about his material, well prepared for class every day, and very knowledgeable in Economics. I'm really glad I took his class.
I enjoyed his class very much. It's true you must complete your Aplia homework and come to class, it's a win win situation. You gain knowledge in the end. Mr. Kamara is very passionate about economics and is willing to help, if you ask for it. I'm taking his next class this spring . He's also funny!
I can't believe Professor Kamara's rating is this low. If you get anything below an A in this class, it is a reflection of YOU! Only have to complete about 1/3 of HW to get an A.(but 100% completion = better test grades) 100pts just for attendance, drops the lowest test grade, at least 1 extra credit assignment, and reviews before every test!
Kamara is the best!! His class is not hard at all! He is very helpful. Works with you on assignments and tests.
Easy class. Professor K is pretty cool, everything you need to know to be prepared for tests is in the book. Homework done through Aplia, which SUCKS but luckily you only need to earn 300 points then you're good. Would definitely recommend, easy class if you just study and read along.
Very Helpful
I showed up to class half the time and he counted me present. Got a 50 on a test and still got a 93 in his class
Inspirational and helpful
Prof. Kamara is very decent teacher. He lays out the complete plan about what he is expecting out of the sem. He is an easy grader, as long as you follow his ppt. Book is must and lots of questions are from aplia. I am a science student and i would def recomm him over any other econ prof over at nlc.
He was a very bad teacher. His classes are boring and he's really confusing. His powerpoint are long and you don't have time to listen and take notes. His classes are always the same. His accent is a little confusing. But he helps his class and gives extra credit.
He serious about grades and I love it.
He is an awesome teacher! He cares a lot about his students and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. He's hilarious too!
Never emails back, but when he does the emails don't make sense. Goes out of his way to grade very harshly. Claimed I did not do an assignment correctly when I did everything correctly and based off of his syllabus. Assignments have nothing to do with the tests. Never says due dates. Worst professor I've ever had.
easy class. do your work and show up in class and you got your A
Very helpful! Wants you to succeed and helps keep you on track in his class. Constant reminders of homework and tests and not a hard teacher. Just do your work and you should be fine. Plus the course helped me understand my financial life as well. Great Guy.
Professor Kamara is the best professor I have ever taken. The easiest class ever. I got a 64 in my exam 1 and 2 because I had other classes that was consuming my time. 94 in exam 3 and a 76 in exam 4 and I got a clean A in the class. Constantly remind you of aplia work and points left everyday in class. Just do your work and get the easiest A ever
This professor so far is straightforward, but seems unprofessional. The book is not straightforward, and there are several issues with Apila this summer. Good luck.
Aplia and in-class tests are annoying, and lectures were a little long with little to no class participation-which gets boring and old real quick-but tests were pretty easy if you read and the class points were mainly from Aplia anyway. He was also kind of funny and his funky shirts are legendary. You get extra credit, and it's easy too.
There's a ton of online homework.... Aside of that, the class is easy. Easy note taking, and if you're smart, you'll print out the notes so you can keep up. He has a bit of an African accent, so if you aren't good with accents, you may consider another teacher. It isn't too bad though, so I'm positive you'll do great. Just KEEP UP WITHTHE HOMEWORK
Horrible teacher, talks to students like there stupid. When teaching uses examples of selling drugs. Displays students private grades to entire class.
He is a really good professor. Take him if you want an easy A. Take notes, and you will pass the test easily.
The class was very interesting. The lectures are easy to understand, and if you go to class every day and keep up with the text book you will get an easy A. Also, the test were pretty clear and online, and the appia homework aswell. The professor is very generous with the extra credit.
Horrible with communication. Answers questions with a few words. It's your problem attitude, with no assistance to help fix an issue.
Amazing professor and has vast knowledge in Economics. He knows what he's teaching. Tests are online and Aplia is due every Sunday night. Book is recommended cause if you go through it you know exactly what he's referring to.
Professor Kamara is very inspirational! This class is an easy A if you go to class every day and do your APLIA on time. You DO need the textbook because it helps for the tests and APLIA. All the tests are taken on Blackboard (some questions are found online). He might be a little difficult to understand, but his lectures always kept me interested.
Kamara is pretty chill. Attendance doesn't matter as much, but it's extra credit. If you want an A, you must do all of your APLIA as hard as it is. (So book is required)
Easiest summer class. Half of the points are based on H.W. and the other half are based on tests.
The reviews, from my point of view, are a bit unfair. Yes, you would have to read the book, but to be honest, microeconomics is a fundamental concept for life and business that you will not regret to learn. The tests were pretty clear, and if you complete all the homework and go to class you will be able to earn an A in them.
Does not show how to do homework problem. They are way different than his lecture problems.
Bad at explaining, doesn't really help, might as well be an online class.
Must take!! Amazing professor! Always ready to help hos student! Replies to his student asap! Trust me! If you want an A, his class, you must consider. Just show up to his class, do ur assignment and its an easy A!!!
This was an online class and all the information was so difficult to understand, he did not provided any help at all, the program he uses to do homework and test was difficult too since they didn't provide online lectures explaining things. The program pretty much was getting all the grades and all he did was post final grade for semester.
Get the book and take decent notes and you will pass the class
Tries to teach economics as a 'story' but this class can be confusing: it was hard to see the connection between his examples/ stories and the material he was teaching. I recommend reading the chapter before attending class to have a base of knowledge to build upon (and not get confused). Also, tests are more conceptual and not like hw so read book
Great teacher, so much energy. Kamara may always show up 15 minutes late, but he is never having a dreary day. He is a very energetic person, which is nice if you are tired. His grading is purely done on tests, no homework. There were many questions on the test that he never covered. From a teacher standpoint he's great. 8/10
I took this class online and it was OK. Homework assignments through Cengage were pretty difficult but if you try doing all the homework assignment you will easily get 400 points in your overall grades. Other than homework assignments discussion board and mega assignment following with quizzes were OK.
One of the best professors I've ever taken. Grading criteria is very clear, he tells you exactly what he's grading you on from the start. Attendance is a big part of the grade. We used online textbook exercises, but as long as you got 400 out of the available 1000 points, you get an A. It was one of the easiest classes ever, and I learned a lot,too
Though intimidating at first, if you get the work done and show the solid effort you will make the grade you want. Cengage is the hardest part and besides that, it is smooth sailing. Fair and clear grading criteria.
Online Summer II. HARD class. Heavy algebra, graphing, Cengage. Do the work, you'll be fine. Get behind? Drop. Prof. was almost nonexistent online. NEVER e-mail you back, and if he does it is because you suck. Might have done better in Fall. Not so accelerated. I don't need a watch to know what time it is.
Pretty easy class. I took the summer session 1 class, so the the only work were the online assignments and 4 exams. Attendance was only taken for the first 3 days.
I took prof. Kamara in fall 2019. Class was very fast paced but the work was doable. Lectures might seem a little confusing at first but if you put in the effort you can pass. As long as you do your assignments, you should be good.
I took his class fall 2019 and all these comments arent what he seems and honestly it was an easy class and he has a heavy accent but he did make economics sound interesting. Theres lots of assignment on cengage and you only need 400 points to pass his class and honestly im not a bright student those asignments are easy! Never used the textbook.
I took this class over the summer to get one of my senior year credits out of the way. This class was homework heavy, but the professor grades extremely easily on all assignments and discussion boards. 100% would take again.
4 easy test, 500 points required out of 1000 possible points for doing homework. Took summer 1 online class. You have to purchase Cengage for the homework tho..
I took a Maymester Course (1 semester in 4 weeks) and was super nervous about the workload before I began. I didn't have to purchase Cengage for this course. He requires 500 out of 1000 possible points for homework and I achieved my 500 about halfway through the course. All exams are 50 questions and easy to find online ;)
I took this class as a summer course online. Professor Kamara always had a caring tone when he checked up on us through email, however he never seemed to show up for virtual office hours. We were only graded on our tests, discussion boards (which werent hard at all), and homework assignments. Very homework heavy, but not too difficult.
I took him online for the fall took an 8 week course. Very helpful, his homework is not hard at all, and discussion boards are not difficult.
Professor Kamara is amazing! I took ECON2301 and ECON2302 both online and Ill say they were easy As. Hes very flexible and the homework is very helpful. Take this class, you wont regret it.
Professor Kamara falls in line with the teaching style that I like. Clear and straight to the point. Some people don't like this, but when it comes to school I'm never in my feelings. I only care about learning and passing the course. He really seems to care about your learning and even offers extra credit. Keep up and you will pass this course.
Run Just Run away from her Just run
Half your grade will come from textbook assignments that are assigned every week, but everything is wide-open, so you have until the end of the semester to turn everything in and still receive full points. You only need to get 500/1000 points on the textbook assignments to get full credit for these assignments. You have 2 chances for chapter tests.
Easy class and easy professor. I had him online for dual-credit classes. Easy A.
I took Macroeconomics online with Professor Kamara over winter break. Each week there was a discussion board, test, and homework. All the test answers are online. The homework took a VERY long time and it was hard to get above a 90. Overall, Professor Kamara's class was alright, but I would probably recommend taking it with another professor.
I would recommend you to take PROFESSOR KAMARA ! He is very inspirational and helpful . The way he has is class set up every easy ! Just pay close attention to the syllabus, ask questions do not be shy ! Professor Kamara is very helpful ! Reach out to him if you ever need help . Please take his class !
Lots of work in mind tap but YouTube helps a lot! Only need 500/1000 points from Mindtap. Tests are easy.
Mr. Kamara's class was great. Discussion questions made you think, mindtap assignments were long and intricate but were rewarding to complete if you actually took the time to understand the concepts. I regularly timed my class sessions and it never took more than 3 hours a day. The tests are easy (MC), and homeworks are long, wordy, and math-heavy.
HW and Exam intensive with mediocre resources to help and grades are updated irregularly. Posts an assignment that appears in the gradebook and ended up not being graded, which caused unparallel stress if you wanted an A and he did not apologize to his mess up, but instead shifted the blame to us for doing it when it was not on the syllabus.
