Smith is a good guy. His class is not too hard if you are willing to take time & study. A lot of extra credit is offered, and tests are curved. Review sheets are somewhat similiar to the test, but some of the stuff you have to teach yourself. (That's the difference between high school and college).

Smith is a good teacher, and he knows the material, but makes it incredibly hard to follow. Be in class, or tell him about your absence. He's easy going as long as he knows, but if he doesnt he tends to use attendance as a grade. Honors adds two projects which are seemingly grade toppers, they're based on creativity. Hes very scattered-brained.

Mr. Smith is very knowledgeable. His tests are difficult but graded on a curve. Plan on attending every class unless you have a good excuse for not coming. There is no schedule for labs and if you don't attend, you will probably miss labs. If you read the text, pay attention in class and work hard, you will be fine. He is available for help...

This teacher is one of the hardest teachers I have ever had. The material that he gives you to study is not on the test, test questions are so confusing. Each class he just reads the slides to the class, rarely breaks down the material. There is like 4 people in my class that are actually passing. Don't ever take him.

To put it bluntly, do not take him unless you want to work your tail off and get a mediocre grade. Unless you're a complete science geek and know everything from prior learning, avoid this class at all costs. He teaches the material well, I'll give him that. However I wish he would give us tests based on the behavioral objectives, not random stuff.

Took this course over the summer. It was a hybrid.Professor Smith's tests are very difficult.I believe it may have been easier had I chosen a longer session with lecture-no hybrid.Too much material in such a condensed class. Advice:Study EVERY word in the text, every illustration, and every word on the powerpoint. Understand backward and forward!

This Biology class was really fun. Yes, I had to work my butt off, but I learned a lot and got good results. Mr. Smith's lectures were always very interesting, animated, and easy to understand. He is very encouraging, and always ready to help his students. In the end, you will be very well prepared for follow-on courses.

AWESOME CLASS, very engaging and useful. Alot of people are saying it's a terrible class but if you just study the powerpoints, stay organized, complete all assigned work, and show up, there's no reason not to get an A. He's straight foward and hard work should earn you an A :)- Biology 2

Pros: Offers extra credit, curves exams (this literally saves your life) - Cons: Exams are SO HARD, he runs through the material super fast, humiliates you when you ask a question during class, his syllabus provides no test or lab schedule, he is very unorganized and he expects you to teach yourself the material before class.
