Professor Windham gives a brilliant introduction to Global Perspectives. Each day a new fact is brought to the class from student presentations. This is not the standard sit and listen to the professor class. Although Professor Windham will interject only to enhance the conversation between the students. I enjoyed this class and you will too!
My favorite class at CU Denver, I can't say that I've ever met anyone as well informed as Professor Loopesko about the current issues of the world. Students give 2 to 3 presentations a day, followed by class discussion led by Loopesko. If you aren't interested in learning more about the world, don't take this class. You won't enjoy it.
Loopesko creates an environment that deeply engages students. The quality of discussion and interaction was far above anything I've experienced before in college. I came to the class with a high level of interest in the subject, but what most impressed me was watching the first lecture wallflowers blossom into informed debaters by the final class.
Professor Loopesko structured this class to not only be informative, but to bring in multiple perspectives and to motivate every student's fullest engagement. The class was an ingenious balance of the professor's expertise, definitive books, and student perspectives.
Made class interesting, projects were actually enjoyable. Willing to talk after class, even though it was a fairly late class.
The greatest professor I ever had at UC Denver. Professor Loopesko makes you think as a student about global issues. The class is structured through discussions and students presentations.Prof. Loopesko is very kind and helpful. He knows every subject his students presents in class from heart.I admire his patient with students and his helpfulness.
Professor Loopesko provided a great learning experience by mixing great lectures, current events, topic presentations and great speakers. The course contents were current and very relevant. I learned a big deal and will recommend the class to anyone interested in the legal aspects of international business and international law in general.
I love this class. It's not only informative and also helpful for me to have a better understanding about our world.
Professor Loopesko’s class format was very unique, and made examining Globalization seem somehow more relevant by using student presentations for class discussion. In instances of uncertainty, he was very quick to respond to emails for clarification. I would take another class with this professor if I had the opportunity.
I think Professor Loospesko have an outstanding way of relating to students, and of course, presentation of his lectures is next to non. I can vouch that no student pass through in class remain the same after the class. I am really blessed to pass through him.
He's the best teacher ever! Take any class with him!
This is a professor who has actually been successful in international business. He has worked globally, and knows what it takes to make it in this field. His track record speaks for himself. The curriculum is fun and insightful on all current world events. His grading system is fair and test will appropriately reveal what you have learned.
I've been at UCDenver for 3 years. Dr. Loopesko is by far my favorite professor. His class was eye opening and very interesting. He was very easy to get a hold and was very intelligent and passionate towards his teachings. I highly recommend you take a class with Dr. Loopesko.
Windham spends a great deal of time preparing his lectures to ensure that they are both interesting and informative. Windham supplements the course material with a wealth of life experience and a variety of currents issues by assigning readings to ensure his teaching is current and relevant. The more you put in, the more you get out of this class.
Amazing instructor. I had him for INTB and was blown away by his level of knowledge! I like instructors who have hands on experience with the material they teach and more than any other professor I've had he fits the bill. He really cares about his students, he took time to meet with me and give me some guidance when I needed it. Highly recommend!
Very good teacher. Very helpful. I recommend that this class is a MUST take.
I really enjoyed Windham's teaching and felt it got me to think about the international landscape in a different way. Using The Economist and other authors was a great way to expose us to ideas from a broad spectrum. He graded fairly and was able to integrate a variety of students into his curriculum.
Global Perspectives with Windham was, as he put it, an “introduction to the world.” The course was students giving presentations to the class about world topics with their own opinions mixed in. There was a lot of work outside of class, but this is a junior-level course… Assignments were graded quickly, and emails were responded to timely.
Global Perspective or INTB 3000 is extremely helpful to me,especially when I had a big chance to study in Mr Loopesko's course. I love having other opportunity to study in his course again. It seems all of currently hot events in the world are discussed in this couse.
Mr. Loopesko's class is very thought provoking and challenges students to look at current world events in a critical perspective.
Very insightful. Fun, interactive lecture, and open discussions. Understand the ins and outs of international relations, business, and economics. He has interesting stories, and a respectable opinion.
Very enthusiastic and knowledgable in subject!
Very interesting and a fun class be at.
I loved this class, I learned a lot about about Global issues, and got different cultural perspectives. This class was by far my favourite, even though it took a lot of work it was very interesting and I would recommend it to anyone. Mr. Loopesko was and is a great teacher and is always trying to find a way to help you.
I felt like this class was a great debate class where your opinions mattered and we spoke about a wide variety of issues. I felt better about doing presentations after his class. He is very easy going and you will feel comfortable. Also, he provides a lot of extra credit so you have no excuse not to get an A!
INTB 3000 is one of the best classes I have taken at UCD. Great class for understanding global issues/relations. Mr. Loopesko is by far the best professor to teach this class. Great interaction with students! I do appreciate his knowledge in the subject matter plus his 20+ years doing business globally. I highly recommend taking this class with him
Windham is great for any business major wanting a international perspective.
Professor Loopesko is the best professor I have had at UCD. He actively engages with the class and encourages class discussion. His global experience is truly an asset, and this experience helps students to think outside of the box and provide students with a global perspective. I would strongly recommend taking any class of his.
I took Loopeskos first grad level course a year ago and he started out slightly nervous finding the new balance from undergrad teaching. This is his second grad level course and he has excelled in his teaching abilities, I have not only learned greatly but met many great professional presenters including the project with a big international company
Windham is a professor with a lot of business experience in EU and North America. His class provides experienced guest speakers with understanding of international business or business regulations in foreign countries. He really likes to help students with all kind of questions. I like his course.
Windham is wonderful! I truly hope the University allows him to become a permanent teacher. I had some trouble at the beginning of the semester, and he was more than understanding and rather than being rigid allowed me to shine later on in the semester. I loved this class, and like no other I had it truly opened my eyes. You will Love him!
Windham was an awesome instructor! I'd never had such a comprehensive overview of world perspectives before. The topics covered in class were taught from the students point of view with additional input from Windham. Discussions were incredibly intelligent and respectful of one another. Highly recommend this class!
Excellent course for a real world perspective on global business. Material covered is diverse and mostly current. The class is very interactive and filled with student led discussions/presentations. Windham also provided several great guest lectures.
This professor is extremely knowledgeable. His classes are set up to allow you to have great discussions with fellow students and present on issues of your choice. Not only do you learn a lot, but you learn things pertinent to you and the business world. He didn't use a textbook for my course - his lectures and guest speakers were more than enough.
By far a top tier professor. I would take any class he is teaching. Very knowledgeable and willing to help explain all material. If you get a chance take his class.
This was not a "regurgitate what you have read in the book", but instead an "interactive, challenge and discuss with your intellectual peers" semester. This is predominantly due to Professor Loopesko's course. I highly suggest a course with Professor Loopesko if you are interested in taking a step further than your run of the mill education.
Windham is by far my favorite teacher of all time. The personal gain I got from taking his class will not be matched. If you are thinking of taking a class with him do it! Be ready to work hand and make your opinions herd and challenged in the best way. Two thumbs up, five out of five stars.
Windham is one of my favorite professors and is one of the smartest people I've met. The class is not a cake walk; he expects you to do the work and know what you're talking about. But he keeps it engaging and lets you pick topics that interest you. I highly recommend taking any class with him.
Windham is an extremely knowledgable person, who is able to use his worldly business experiences as a way of explaining the many international topics that were covered in our Global Perspectives class. I would recommend taking any class that he teaches to those who have the opportunity.
Windham was by far the best professor I have ever had in college. He has such a vast knowledge of what is going on in the world and is such an interesting man. I feel like I gained more from this class than all of my others in the past combined. Take this class, but be prepared to stay current with the work (there is a lot of it but its worth it)
A great professor to say the least. The content is interesting and can be applied to real life situations. He is very helpful and even took time out of his day to meet with a friend and I to discuss and give insight on an idea we had
Windham has not only served a great insight to the functions of business inside of the course INTB 3000, he's also been a great help delivering his expertise pertaining to business outside of the course. I'd suggest his advice regarding most anything business related.
I had the privilege of taking a course with Windham each semester I was at UCD. Each course proved to be educational and insightful - with discussion and assignments focused on real world situations/problems. I would recommend taking all courses, not only does he know the most up to date information, he also has had many experiences himself.
The class was easy. We learned a lot, and the content was urgent and interesting. A variety of topics were covered from gay rights to global warming to north korea, and information was given in a very easy-to-understand way.
Class discussion was the best I have ever had at UCD. I loved going to this course... and it was a night class!Prof. Loopesko has a very global outlook on things. He seemed as though he was very willing to answer questions before and after class. I think we was fair, all the while being understanding of international students.
I left a comment early in the summer in regards to my original impressions of Loopesko. I come back again to illustrate how much students truly value his expertise. I met someone & we spoke about past UCD professors we enjoyed.. we ageed Loopesko was the best we had. He's unbiased, knowledgeable, interesting & straight forward. Overall a cool guy
Windham may be the most caring, genuine professor you will ever have at UCD. The class has lots of "busy work" but it really helps you learn what's happening in your world. I highly recommend taking Windham if you are lucky enough to get the chance (he's not a full time professor).
Best Teacher at UCD! He is really helpful assistance their students and specially international students. I will suggest you come to class and it will be an easy A class. He wants everyone to do well but also he make you learn. I definitely enjoy his class, I totally recommend you.
This class was perfect for my junior year! It is not super easy but its not hard and is very interesting. Windham is very helpful and a very fair grader. If you want to get an A it is very possible! I will be taking another class with Windham if I get a chance.
This class provides a diverse prospective regarding international business and political relations. Windham is actually experienced in the field of study and enjoys teaching the subject. This professor is unique in that he is actually interested in your thoughts and opinions, which is quite rare in academia.
Increased my knowledge of the world and my perspective more than any other class I have taken. His class requires work but is well worth the investment of time and effort!
One of my favorite experiences from graduate school. He does a great job of exploring topics that expand your thought process and encourages differing view points.
Took this course in spring 2013 with Professor Loopesko. Very fun class that shines a light on issues in the global business world. Professor Loopesko encouraged discussion and was extremely insightful. I recommend taking this class. Windham will surely elucidate you to some of the worlds intricacies.
Terrific professor in every single aspect. He is extremely knowledgeable, extremely interesting and I truly had a great semester. He is unbelievably helpful and it makes the class much easier when the professor states exactly what he wants and is not vague in the slightest.
The teaching methods, when adhered to, were extremely effective. This was not an easy class by any means, but I learned a great deal and feel competent in using what I learned in future studies at the collegiate and post-collegiate levels. All in all, this professor was excellent and incredibly effective.
Windham is a great Professor. The workload is large at times but I learned more in this class about current events then a lifetime of news. I recommend that anyone who wants an interesting class with critical thinking take this class. He is also very helpful when it comes to the midterm and the final. He is honest about what he expects of you.
The Professor was great, and this was definitely one of my favorite classes throughout my college career so far. He was always willing to help and giving helpful feed back on the midterm and final papers. I would highly suggest taking this course, it's structured differently than most, but that's what helped with learning the material.
Great experience in class and he made a somewhat dull class interesting.
Loved Him! Super Easy!
Very interesting! Professor Loopesko is practical and very accessible.
Began class without knowing hardly anything about current international affairs. Walked out with a global perspective and really enjoyed studying this topic. Lots of challenging work, but it is fun to learn about so it is worth it.
Windham was a fantastic professor. I'll admit, when I was first signing up for the class, I was looking at it as only a class to fill a pre-req, but Windham was a great professor who really cared about his students and their learning. If I could take another class with him, I would. I strongly recommend taking his class
Windham is a great professor! I highly recommend taking this course with him! He's a well rounded knowledgeable professor who loves teaching this course. Student presentations are required which I thought were great. I took the course over the summer along with an online course, a full time job and still managed to get a good grade.
Windham Loopesko is a natural extrovert and has a genuine care in teaching. He is flexible, but still demanding with his tasks. He allows you to be creative and explore, while helping you get there through investigation and suggestions. I entered the class late -- and it ended up being my favorite class! I highly suggest it for your money and time!
Professor Loopesko is an awesome professor, he's really knowledgeable and open minded. He's easy to get in touch too and he's more than willing to help throughout the whole semester if you have any questions regarding the presentations and papers. The workload isn't too bad just make sure to get your stuff on time. I totally enjoyed his class.
Class had tons of busy work and more online work than any online class I've ever taken, even though it wasn't an online class. There is no clear grading system. I am never going to get that time back.
Class is offered to non-business students and it shows. You have to read constantly and have multiple writing assignments each week. The term papers are very long. The overall grades are subjective and the professor doesn't like it when students have ideas different than his own. This is a current issues and debate class, not a business class.
I took this class to fulfill a graduation requirement and I'm glad I chose this class over something different. It was a very unique and interesting class. The professor was knowledgeable and had a genuine interest in his students. He very much welcomed different opinions and discussed the topics from different perspectives. Highly recommended.
He has a very interesting class structure. It takes a few weeks to get used to but I liked it. He is very knowledgeable but he can sometimes be kind of boring. You get attendance points everyday so make sure you show up!
Professor Loopesko is one of the most knowledgable people I have ever met, and I respect him in the utmost manner. I felt really lucky to have had him as a professor and to have had the opportunity to learn from him. The way he has structured this class is very conducive to learning a ton, and I am so glad I took this class! I highly recommend it.
Great class and some very good reading.
Windham is an awesome teacher with an incredible background of experience to back it up. His class gave me an appreciation and understanding of global issues that i will never lose. my only complaint is that its hard to keep up with the readings. TAKE THIS CLASS!
One the nicest professor around. Professor Windham Loopesko goes out the way to help you. He is a cool dude. (:
this class challenges you to express your perspectives without fear, and the debates are pretty exciting and enjoyable, there may be alot of work but don't stress yourself out with grammar and errors, just write as if you are writing to a friend in discussions.
Windham is an excellent professor and truly makes Global Perspectives fascinating and comprehensible. The work is moderate and Windham makes it clear that he greatly values student imput and interest. This class was my favorite of last semester, despite the fact that it required more work than other curses I was taking and I would def take again!
I wish i could take this class every semester. The content is incredibly interesting and Windham has an open approach to the subject matter which allows all students with any level of understanding to participate and gain knowledge. There is a lot of reading but it is worth it for the level of understanding you come out with.
Without a doubt one of the best professors Ive ever had. He really cares about his students and told me our first meetings it was a privilege for him to teach the class. He wants you to succeed and reach out to him with questions about the class, ask for help and you'll get it. Lots of homework but a super easy grader, turn it in and you get credit
Great teacher! His lectures were excellent and I would definitely take his class again. Most of the assignments are interesting and pretty easy. There are two papers (a midterm and final) that are a little more difficult but are still not too bad.
I liked the class, but looking back I have a bitter taste in my mouth. While Windham was insightful, if you ever disagreed with him he would be extremely rude in a disrespectful manner. He also stated that he wished others would contribute, but would always try and make me look foolish if I ever made a real point. Good teacher, big ego.
Global Perspectives covers a massive amount of material and you will be in good hands taking this class from Windham. He does an incredible job organizing the class and encouraging discussion. Pointers: If you are unsure, email him, he will tell you EXACTLY what he expects. Participate and ask ??'s in discussions, there is a lot to learn from him.
Windham is one of the most knowledgeable people in his field that I've encountered. He has a genuine passion for teaching and wants his students to succeed. There is a lot of work in the class, but nothing that isn't doable. This class turned out to be one of my favorites of my undergraduate career!
Windham is an excellent Professor who gives students a chance to focus their critical thinking abilities and apply them towards real live current events by collecting your thoughts and organizing why you see things that way in a more structured manner. I definitley suggest taking this class, it's a culture shock but worth seeing students views.
Taken a summer class with him , he is a great professor and his class is extremely educational and fun. i personally loved the discussions we had in the class.
Windham has been one of my favorite professors throughout all of college. He is extremely helpful in terms of feedback and typically responds to any questions within a few hours. Summer classes are obviously condensed, so there was quite a bit of work to do. Classes are discussion based. Very interesting and thought provoking HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
BEST PROFESSOR
Class was free form with lots of discussion and student presentations. He lists all of the assignments in advance which is nice. Assignments take a lot of time and there is a lot of reading, but it's interesting material. Didn't like the grading system but I did well so not complaining about that. Interesting prof with good anecdotes. Recommended.
He was an amazing professor! This class was definitely not easy, and tough at the beginning, but once you get into the course it's a piece of cake. He is very knowledgeable of global issues and it made the class a constant interest for me. I would love to take another course with him!
He has students do the teaching and does not require any citations.
The workload is something to be reckoned with; it's not terrible or very difficult, but just make sure you keep up with it. No tests, a "Notes" quiz at the end of the semester on essential concepts he recaps in "notes" rather than having you buy a textbook. The books are important and are actually pretty good reads. Pay attention to the syllabus.
Prof Loopesko is great! He's a fascinating individual but you can tell he's not there to talk about himself. He guides all of the discussions back to you and incredible and useful debates are sparked because of it. Highly recommended!
Great class, great lectures, great group discussions, inspires interest in the goings-on, in the world outside of America. Wish he taught more classes. ...I didn't read any of the books, but still did well.
His class was student lecture based, but guided by the professor. If you have an opportunity to take a class with him, do it. Highly inspirational and you walk out with your eyes opened to the world
A great class and a great professor. It is a discussion based class, but you go over really good worldwide topics. Students have to present a powerpoint on a topic and then it is discussed. Expect homework every week. It is really easy, but to me it just seemed like busy work, especially with all my other classes I was taking.
Windham's class is perfect for people who want to learn. His credentials prove valid in group discussions when he provides insight to knowledge gained throughout his education and research, while still leaving an open floor for opposing arguments. He listens without biases and appreciates comments, feedback, and heated discussions.
BEST PROFESSOR!!
Fun class, great discussions. I took it over the summer (smaller class size) and was able to give three presentations. Our class was very cohesive with good discussions and I made some friends in the class. Great professor with lots of experience and good stories. I'm not a business major and wish we did more "business." We mostly discuss the news.
Professor Loopesko is awesome! He is a very knowledgeable man who knows what he is talking about! He was definitely understandable when I had some problems going through the semester and was always there to help me. I have so much respect for the man. I would definitely recommend him and this class!
Topics were interesting and the format was not just another boring lecture class. It had stimulating discussions and debates about some of the issues going on in the world. The assignments were clear and not too difficult. I highly recommend this class or any others he would teach.
Fantastic professor. I had him for Global Perspectives, and I was amazed at how much I learned. He spends a great deal of time planning out his lectures to make sure they're informative, but at the same time interesting. He very generously accepted my request to do an independent study as well. He cares a lot about his students there well-being
He's an awesome teacher. His lectures and reading are related to current international events. He also gave you good feedbacks on your mid-term and final memo.
Global Perspectives was my favorite class! I genuinely feel more informed and aware of the social, financial and political happenings in the world. Windham is an excellent professor and deeply cares about his students-one of the most brilliant people I've ever met (he can recall exact dates, names &places faster than google). 100% recommend!!!
I encourage everyone, no matter what your major, to take a class with Windham. One of smartest people I have ever had the pleasure of associating with. I am not exaggerating, take his global perspectives class.
Amazing professor! This course along with this professor is exactly why I came to college. Great discussions and critical thinking to topics related to culture and business.
Mr. Windham Loopesko is one of the best professor i had at CU Denver. I respect his knowledge about religion, politics, history and economy. He is a real Wikipedia. I love the class discussions and the presentations. He let the student think free not only about school but also about what's going on in the moment: elections, North Korea...
He was one of the best professors I have had in years!
Windham is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is very knowledgable and he clearly expresses his interest in the material. I truly did learn a lot in his class and I would without a doubt take another course taught by him. Having him as a teacher will be beneficial for the rest of your college career.
One of the best professors I've ever had. He will expand your horizons. His classes are extremely engaging where students participate in lively discussions and debates about current event topics. If you watch enjoy VICE on HBO, this class is for you. We discuss and deconstruct current event topics to fully understand both sides and the effects.
Windham is absolutely brilliant and he knows everything about everything. His classes are 100% lecture based and I found them very boring. The topics are interesting, but the way that they are taught makes it very hard to focus. He is a very smart person and cares a lot about his students. He's very lenient, understanding and a very quick grader.
Windham is very knowledgeable, he would be an incredible political science professor. As for international business he has not taught me a thing about how to create business in another country. More of a history and political class, but for a business student looking for knowledge in international business, I learned nothing.
I believe this class has helped me understand what is going in the world to a more personal level. The teacher definitely helps build the need and connection to the material and topics discussed. The class itself is wonderfully structured and allows you to be more connected to your colleagues as well. Would definitely recommend, but there is work.
A very friendly and open person, always trying to get the best out of his students. Any questions in and outside class will be answered quickly and precisely. When it comes to grading, he makes it very clear what he wants from the beginning, so if you pay attention to that, you shouldn't have problems.
Talks a lot about himself and his experiences. The most work I have ever had to do for a class.
You won't get anything in this class, it wastes your time and money. It is awful. He is not an English speaker, you would experience a very hard learning experiences. Really hard to get his point. Not worth it. Not great at teaching. Sorry professor, you worth a Fail.
Interesting class, but it was lectured based so he would talk throughout the class. Very thoughtful of the students.
Windham is one of the best professors Ive had a UCD. He genuinely cares and goes out of his way to make sure you understand the resources available to you. Be prepared to do your homework and dont get behind. The work isnt difficult. Make sure you have manage your time wisely. Ive gained a few perspectives from the topics in class we discussed
Windham was an awesome professor! There was a lot of homework, but if you stay on top of it you'll be fine. He offers additional presentations & other things for extra credit, so take advantage of those if you are worried you'll fall behind on homework. He gives you ample time to complete everything & is a very fair grader. Highly recommend!!
This class is tough because Windham makes each of his students think outside of the box. He pushes each student to think about current events through a different lens. His papers are unlike any others I have ever writtenchallenging yet really interesting. I wish I could take more classes from Windham; he is one of the best professors Ive had!
This professor will really make you think outside the box. Readings were well selected and class discussions were always interesting. Students were expected to form their own opinions and be able to articulate them back to the class. A good environment to work on your speaking and presenting skills.
While Windham Loopesko is a very intelligent man, his class has nothing to do with business. He doesnt teach the class, rather he assigns lecture powerpoints to students to present to the class. No tests, no quizzes, just a lot of reading and writing assignments. Roughly 4-5 a week. 2 big paper- midterm and final, both graded harshly.
Windham is an intelligent professor that really cares about the students. He makes it clear that INTB3000 is NOT a business class. The readings are current topics/events and there are quite a lot of them. Two presentation requirements for the semester. For the most part, show up and keep up with the discussions--you'll get an A.
Great choice for an elective class. Doesn't give out any tests, only a few easy quizzes which are open note. Be prepared for tons of reading/response assignments. Make sure to do the course work assigned for the first three weeks as he doesn't start grading until then. Doing the work will prevent you from rushing to turn in everything at once.
Solid choice. No tests. Lots of homeworkbalances out poor grades. Well respected within the business community.
Dr. Loopesko was absolutely one of the best professors I had during my time at UCDenver. I took this class just as a core class, but was definitely happy with my choice. Dr. Loopesko was kind and considerate but also made your brain think from entirely new perspectives. His class was largely discussion-based so complete the reading and participate!
He is the most organized teacher I have ever had in my entire life. His assignments are organized by the dates they are due. If you a fast reader and learner, you can finish the class in a couple of months.
Great professor with detailed lectures. With writing assignments/papers, he is incredibly strict and has a specific way he wants you to write, but other than that all the other assignments are incredibly easy. I would definitely take him again.
Windham is wicked smart and has been all over the world. He stresses that his courses are "for the students" and are open to change. He is often giddy about the lessons he teaches and when you finally understand something, he throws his hands in the air with joy and says "this is why I teach!". You gain a lifetime mentor when you take his class.
