all over the place when she talks, pretty easy class, quiz every friday, good amount of papers
Shes really nice and will help you out alot. Her essays can be hard, and she marks every little thing on them. Quizes are common, sometimes they are very easy sometimes not.
she was so mean i mean everything is really really easy thats because i wasnt supposed to be in her class but i was up with all of her work already and i was doing it in class and she embarrased me in front of the class and yelled at me for doing work while shes teaching, i hate her for doing that
She's wierd. class is very easy, but there's a lot of work. there are quizes every Friday and papers are fairly easy. she gives 5% of your grade for learning center appointments. she's clear subject matters, but there's a lot of useless work.
the only reason you need to go to class is for attendance other than that its a breeze. There are quizzes on mondays and a few papers, there is a good amount of work but it's just annoying, not hard.
you definetly need your books in this class. she is very helpful. pretty easy class

SHE SUCKS BIG TIME
She rapes papers literally, is anal about any little mistake and if you write a little "fast write" she will mark check or check minus when they aren't even supposed to be graded. You'll probably get a C on every paper if you do it yourself. Get the learning center to do them. Or take this course online to avoid mrs. MMkayyyyy.

i couldn't pay attention because she said mmmkay every 5 seconds. she never helps with how to write papers. she just reads them and gives them a grade. i love english but i hated her class
She is very hard grading papers. Class talks about random things. She is helpful if you go to office hours, but in the class no. She won't tell you answers to the questions you have even though she knows what the answer is. I wouldn't recommend taking her pick someone else. When writing papers you will never get above a C. Mmmkay.
Avoid Her at all costs. At one point I believe i wrote a 3-4 page paper, about Ancient Egypt. Combining my english and art history class. She gave me a revise, after going to her in her office hours I revised the paper. I recieved it back, with a C- saying that i "changed" the whole paper. I simply did what she wanted.
She made me hate English after ripping every paper apart! She takes attendance and its hard to pay attention when she talks about nonsense and says mmmkkaay every other word!!! AVOID MORGAN
avoid if you can. she is very anal about everything, she doesnt go through papers thoroughly and she write redundant comments. she makes you do a final paper but there is no class help, expects you to go to office for help doesnt really do it in class, final paper is more like independent study, she never goes through them in class
You will get a C on every paper. You will probably get bored and start counting how many times she'll say MMKAAYYY. She also hums it, so start counting.
the worst english professor at Penn State Abington that gives every student the hardest time. it's very rare to get higher than a C on ur papers. even if your an A student in english. she grade papers like C-- or D+ what is that!?!? she will not hesitate to fail you , if u are doing bad in her class. AVOID HER!!! DONT TAKE MORGAN FOR ENGLISH.
she is good at engaging the students during class and she is clear about what she wants in assignments. However she doesn't go over what the weekly quizzes will be on and for the research report-40%-final grade-I worked the entire semester on-she tells me at the very end I have to change topics and redo the whole thing-mad-also no class structure
HARD she makes you do papers and like everyone els said you will never get anything higher than a C on a paper and same for quiz hard to pass. but i got a B- at the end so i didnt hate her tht much at the end but u have to wrk hard
She is an awful teacher, you will think that an English teacher will use proper words instead of saying Ok about 100 times a class session. She's rediculous when it comes to grading, if you are an A student get ready for C's or even failure. She has no consideration for hard workers

She wants to help her students the only problem is she isn't very effective at making it easy for them to do well. She demands a lot of work but doesn't reward the effort. Many times during class, like other teachers, she strays off topic. She is also unclear with what she wants. Overall, I wouldn't consider taking a course with her again.
When I signed up for her course I was hesitant bc some one else said stay far away from her but I didn't listen and now am paying the price.Just don't take her for anything. Just like drugs-just say no to morgan.She is unclear &she does not make it easy for students to do well at all & won't give you a good grade even if you do everything she says.
I took her in spring 07 and thought everything was fine, then I was told I had to switch my term paper topic at the end and work for 3 semesters to redo it or i would fail, so I did, thinking it would improve my grade,it didn't. She didn't make it very easy for me to do well and get a good grade but she is an engaging and helpful teacher

Says mmmmkayyy a lot like you see on other comments. If you have her as a Mon, Wed, Fri class she will almost always give a quiz on Monday. Follows the syllabus exactly. Makes you write "reading notes." For English 004 she makes it mandatory to go to the learning center (tutored) 5 times throughout the semester.
Morgan expects waaaay to much from the students out of an introduction English course. She shows no mercy for anyone, even students she likes. AVOID, unless you like getting C's and D's.
She is a nice teacher. She uses the book a lot and there is homework every night, but it is easy hw and some even take 5 minutes. If you have a M W F class there will be a quiz every Monday. And that is what messed me up with the class I didn't do good on the quizzes. Essays are pretty easy and the final is just an essay u take in class.
i don't like her at all
Mrs.Morgan is a wonderful professor and her class was very easy. There are little assignments for each night which usually took me 10 mins or less. She willing to work with her students, and is very understanding. As long as you go to class and put in about 15 mins for studying im sure you will be an A+ in this class.
She is not a great professor! she grades hard... i have had no A on her quizzes or her papers all semster so imagine! she is very sarcastic and might try to play you. check out another professor
QUIZES ARE EASY. HW ASSIGNMENTS EASY SHOULDN'T TAKE NO MORE THAN A HALF HOUR TO DO. ESSAYS AREN'T BAD. YOU HAND IN A ROUGH COPY AND SHE MAKES GREAT COMMENTS TO FIX IT TO MAKE IT BETTER. THE FINAL WAS VERY EASY JUST WRITE A STORY IN THE TIME GIVEN. THE ONLY THING THAT BROUGHT ME DOWN WAS THE 6PG RESEARCH PAPER. HAD A VERY TOUGH TIME WITH THAT.
follow through the assignments and don't be late for class! she's talkative and helpful
She can be nice if you stay on her good side and laugh at most the things she says. "Bring the goods". She grades hard, especially on papers for little mistakes no one would bother to notice.She makes the learning center a must- probably to compensate for her hard grading. Overall, not bad, but doesn't have enough passion.

I've had Morgan for two semesters, the second time around was a mistake. Did like this prof. at all. Sure she is willing to help but if your not up to her standard it will be difficult to get to it. She is very boring. I wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you like prof. that grade hard.
Telling you right now, if you are planning to take this class, be prepare for hard work, hw everynight, reading response every week, rough draft every week, essay every 2 week,quiz every week, take grade off for every little things in your essay, SHE MAKE ENGLISH 4 LOOK LIKE ENGLISH 398475, Class start out with 18 ppl and ends with 10 left.
you get a quiz every week. a paper is due every week. (nothing you write is ever good enough, just accept it) she takes points off for attendance. she is irritating. just do yourself a favor and avoid her
Mrs.Morgan is my favorite teacher <3, she is so nice like totally, and she is willing you in any way ( *wink wink*) and she let you retake your quiz and redo your essay as many time as you want till you get a A, and she is a funny person, she would love to crack a joke and we would just stare at her and smile :))))))))))
Mrs.Morgan is the nicest teacher you will ever find. She will help you in any circumstance. She will let you take makeup for her quizes. I love this teacher <3. Professor Morgan is a nice lady, she dress very professional to school everyday, shes interested in her work, she love to help her students, she makes me feel that i can actually learn something in her class, if you are taking her class, i can guarantee you will get a A

Class may feel like English 400: if u stay on track with the grammar quiz every week, short homework from text due almost every class,and essays due every other week when you do not have to submit a reading review of an article;then, you'll be fine. If you do all the work you'll get an A and feel like you've learned alot?great Professor.
Professor Morgan is a great teacher! She's nice and always willing to help. Her grading may seem hard, but it is actually for the benefit and improvement in her students writing. Not hard as long as you come to class prepared, on time, try your best, ask questions, and do the work. Attendance is required. If you like English, I recommend her class!

AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!! Eng 015 is an introductory course. However, she makes it so hard. He grading is tough. You won't get above a C in the essays. I would recommend ANY other professor. Save your GPA and avoid her.

Passing this class with a good grade can be a challenge due to the grading system. Overall not bad, but it would be for your own benefit not to take this class with her if you'r not required to.

Definitely not an easy class. But if you really do the work perfectly, u'll still have a chance of earning a good grade.

She is not very clear about what she wants in an essay. She expects you to go over examples of previous essays and magically find every single thing she wants in the essay. Her grading is ridiculous. These post crack me up and all of them are completely true. I took Mrs. Morgan over a year ago and I see she has not changed one bit. I would have a 4.0 if it were not for the B I was given in her class even though my papers were A work. I would definitely sign a petition to have her removed from the staff at psu abington.
seems extremely confused about required texts. Instead of discussing the CONTENT of works, she digresses into irrelevant facts--she comes across clueless. And yet, she grades hard. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the worst professor I've ever had.

You're better off avoiding her. VERY unpredictable; I had no idea what to expect for my mark ever in this class. FINAL RESEARCH was murder and too much unnecessary things to do. Essays were marked very hard and required way too much work than our mark showed.
She offers help but no matter how much help you get, she always finds a reason to give a low grade. if your grade is a factor, DO NOT take her. you never know what your grade is in the class. She'll surprise you with a C at the end of the semester. I'll not let her get away with all this.
Expects way too much from first year students. I should not have to right an in-class essay that my friend in fourth year wouldn't be asked to do in his classes. If you take her as your prof, that means you don't value your money.

Ridiculous. She often grades based on your major. The only reason I passed was because of the fact that you must turn in every assignment to pass. If you get a "B" in her class, then you actually deserve an A.

Morgan is super opinionated and her class discussions are all about the things she's interested in. She is extremely unclear about student requirements and doesn't grade fairly at all. Her "comments" on returned papers are horribly vague and useless. I worked really hard on the papers, and still got C's. Don't take her class if possible.

At the end of the semester she was telling the class that she will know who’s rating her on the SRTE based on each person’s unique words. So she’s basically threatening the students. She is the most ridiculous professor I have ever had, and I have not spoken badly about any other professor before.
At first Ms. Morgan seems like a very tough teacher, however, she just wants you to learn and if you do your work and she sees you care you will do great in her class. Make sure you make going to the learning center a priority as that will help you do even better in her class.
Honestly, I don't know where to begin. Does not follow the syllabus sometimes, and the class is usually a mess. I still have no clue how she's still teaching at a Penn State campus. She should only be teaching english at an elementary school. That would be better for her and for the students as well.

For an intro to an english class, she definitely expects a lot. I would avoid such a "professor". She even criticizes authors of respected books and claims that they don't know english. She grades like you speak any other language but English. Out of 120 points she gave me like 30 or 60. I followed the rubric. She even asked for a paper of me free writing and said she wouldn't proof read it and the first thing she did was cross off a word. Its like she tries to be okay and she isn't being tough professor she is being unnecessary.
Continuously makes threats against the faculty and students she does not like. Grades you based on your point of views, as well as your major. So make sure to build yourself up! Don't get your hopes high and expect anything above a C+. I was one of the lucky guys to get out with a B-.
Morgan's lack of focus is insulting. The material is dry enough without her digressions. She knows she digresses constantly but doesn't stop so she obviously doesn't care. The worst part is after teaching you nothing and killing whatever interest you might have in the material, she isn't a generous marker.

I took the class in the fall '13 semester. The problem is that Eng 015 is not even considered a college-level course. This is discouraging. She expects ONLY perfects papers in a level of class where she needs to TEACH people how to write perfect papers.
Despite asking politely and often, I was offered little feedback as to how to improve my writing (which is the whole reason one takes an English class). With 24 hours before final grades are due I'm still waiting on half my assignment grades.

If you have the choice I would recommend taking a different teacher. She helped me a lot when I missed her class for being sick but prior to that I got little to no help. She gives quizzes every Monday on grammar points but there so hard and bring your grade down a lot. She also assigns a lot of papers. However her research paper is only 6-8 pages

She has the personally to be likable, but it's just her grading is difficult, there's work every night, grammar quizzes every week, and tons of papers to write. Only good thing is there is not a Midterm or Final. But that's only because of all the papers written!
She's a terrible teacher. When she grades your papers, she goes through them and crosses off every word the is "not needed". There are a lot of papers and make sure that you do the research for them. She does give quizzes off of the text, but they are just gammer related. She expects you to read the chapters and know what they are talking about
Mrs. Morgan has the ability to be likable as someone else mentioned but when you factor in everything else she's not the best professor. She's very critical in terms of grading and is very hard on students even if you are a hardworking student. I would not recommend her to others because of her high level of unfair criticism.
The negative comments on here are a joke. People are upset about writing papers and having quizzes on grammar in an English class. The criticism is unjust and spurred by a knee-jerk reaction of students getting a grade lower than they anticipated. Morgan is an excellent teacher and my writing has improved greatly. Morgan grades clearly and fairly.
Uninspiring
Final paper cost $20 to write in paper and ink. Lots of unnecessary work and unclear grading guidelines.
Professor Morgan is an amazing professor. She assigns readings for homework each nightFOR A REASON, so you will be able to participate in the next class when she goes over the readings and get participation points. She was hilarious and made boring topics fun to learn in my class. She helped me overall improve my writing skills. Attendance matters.
Tough grader, aggravating, get ready to WRITE
Horrible!! Expect a lot from you. Usually English 15 is the beginning but she thinks we are taking higher English class and we know everything.
She is an awful professor. She grades unfairly if she does not like you. She is crazy about attendance, even if you come to class and need to step out to go to the bathroom she will start snapping and yell at you in front of the entire class. I would never take her or any subject again, and I recommend you avoid this class at all costs.
I actually had a class taught by her that is no longer on the list and she throws quizzes at you every day and thinks that you do not have other classes to be concerned about! I find her to apathetic, smarmy, and inconsiderate. She has a hard time listening to people and is careless!!! Stay away!!!
She literally cares about no one from the class I had. Quizzes every class and does not even think we have other things to deal with! This woman really needs to use to her brain!
I am okay with the amount of work she gives out even if it is a lot. Essays were confusing. For rhetorical analysis, she wanted your opinion? It makes no sense at all. I did a full outline but it isn't the outline she wanted. Would've help if she show us examples on exactly what she wanted things to look like. The only way to get help is go to her.

I figured, how bad could she really be? bad. she does not grade anything but the four assigned essays and their peer reviews. no extra credit, no quizzes, no assignments to help grades. she is the harshest grader, and I never got above a B on one of her papers when normally i never get below a A. not worth it, hell
Worst decision to make picking this teacher class.
The most careless, inconsiderate professor of all time! Even when one tries very hard to try to get a decent grade, she ruins everything using her prejudiced grading. Students put so much effort into showing how hard they have worked, and she is still oblivious! This woman ruined a whole semester for me! Completely despicable!
