Great teacher but too much homework!
Wondi is awesome.
Wondi is a great teacher, but a little hard to understand. As long as you ask questions where they need to be asked and go to as many classes as you possibly can, it's a great opportunity to learn something you actually DIDN'T in high school. A+
Wondi really wants you to do well. He gives gracious due dates (and you can often persuade him for extensions) as well as take-home quizzes. Moderate Amount of homework. He doesn't really get to the point at times, but he means well. I don't think I'd take him again only b/c he made easy things overly difficult... too many graphs too!
Way too much hw. Tests were ok. Quizzes were too. He drops your lowest quiz grade. Final wasn't that bad either. He should review a little more before exams. That would help alot. I probably won't take him again though.
Geremew's an okay professor. My biggest qualms are his really thick accent and the fact that he overexplains simple concepts...if I hadn't taken algebra 2 years ago in highschool, I'd be pretty frustrated. Otherwise the homework is a little heavy at times, and the quizzes are super easy.
Wondi takes his time to explain why everything is everything and I don't feel prepared at all for Calculus. He needs to speed up the teaching a little bit.
"You understand, yes?" Even after saying no, I often at least partially failed to gather what he was trying to convey. Now I'm not even sure if I was trying hard enough.
such a nice guy. really cares about you doing well. very passionate about teaching. always laughs and has a good time. drops ur 2 lowest quiz grades; but never cancels class or ends early. all in all he is an awsome guy and the class was fun
he speakes poor english. he is the hardest theacher to undrestand, and if you are not amazing at math you will fail!!!he gives 5 functions for one problem which is confusing!!! he fails you if you miss 3 classes.
his accent is a little thick but he makes sure that you understand why you are doing something instead of just memorizing formulas. he honestly cares about you as his student and makes sure you get it. his tests are kinda hard but he gave extra credit quizzes
He isn't really that hard to understand if you pay attention. He makes examples hard, but it works out because the ones in the homework are never as diffucult as the examples so its easily understood. Most people are too rude to give the man a chance and let him do his job.
it's completely hard to understand him. you have to show all your work on all the exams and quizzes or else you won't get credit. he says he'll give you partial credit if you show the work, but i did and one little fluke, he marked it wrong. his examples are ridic, there's always decimals or fractions involved. you have to strictly pay attention
i love wondi. a lot of students get impatient and are rude about his accent, but he is constantly asking if things are clear and if not he will have another student explain it so that you can understand. he can be very generous with grading. and he cracks me up when he laughs at stuff.
Super cool!! will help you if you really can not understand!! good teacher
Ok so hes tough. Youve gotta pay attention and study. He is cool though. Gives a fair amount of homework. Very caring. Average tests. Hes cool. If your willing to learn and are willing to actually pay attention than I would say take him. Hes a cool guy.
He's very caring and fun. He will definetely help you if you need it just ask in class. if you go to class and pay attention you can't fail. Wondi is the best!!
Wondi is the man. By far my favorite professor here at Stockton. He takes so much interest in what he teaches as well as the school. Math is tough for a lot of students and he understands that. My class received many extra credit opportunities to bring up their average. If you need to take a math course, TAKE WONDI!
Wondi is a genuinely nice guy. If you show interest and make an effort, he really reaches out to make sure you understand and do well. His accent is thick but not incomprehensible. He has a strict attendance policy, which sort of sucks, and he gives alot of homework. But i still like him.
the class itself is easy enough he just gives way to much work. some nights he gave my class like 200 problems and he actually grades them.
terrible teacher. cant understand anything he says. does not explain things well. tests always seem to be more confusing than the actual work. would not recommend taking him.
Take this class with somebody else. Wondi is nice, pretty clear, the material is easy, and he's always available for extra help, but the quizzes/exams are IMPOSSIBLE to do well on. I understood the material, did all the practice problems, studied a ridiculous amount, and still got C's and D's on almost every quiz/exam we took.

Wondi is kind of hard to understand during the class, his tests and quizzes are extremely hard, but he tries to be thorough with the material. He teaches off of power points and posts the power points online. He follows the chapters in the book and is ALWAYS available for extra help. He gives extra credit and a lot of second chances.
Had him for quantitative reasoning & hated every second of it. He was extremely hard to understand and not very helpful. He will tell you to go to the math center for help.
The class consists of no final, some homework, & 6 tests. He spends time showing the proofs & giving examples that are either too simple or advanced. This meant that many failed the tests, even with background knowledge (2/3 of the class dropped out). While he'll give you second chances - It's hard to get an A and he's not exactly a good teacher
Wondi was a terrible teacher. He would put questions on the tests that we never covered in class, and that were not in the book either. He almost never collected the homework so basically your grade comes completely from the 6 tests.I would go for extra help and he would just direct me to the math lab instead of offering to help himself. Awful.
I do not recommend Wondi if your grade is important to you. His test are much harder than the homework. Almost 2/3 of the class dropped and I believe there was maybe one A out of the entire class. Not a bad guy , but almost impossible to earn an A or for some people even pass.
Horrible teacher. Out of 30 students originally signed up for calc 1, 20 of them dropped within two weeks. Down to about 10 kids, he didn't care much about the class and expected us all to get A's magically... Test questions are hard and unfair, and don't even expect any help. He doesn't care about his students or their grade. Take someone else!

The thing with Wondi is...I've had him for three math classes in three semesters. He teachers them all the same. They are all EXTREMELY difficult. He gives A LOT of extra help, and a lot of second chances. I failed all of the calculus exams, but because I went to so much extra help, I got a C-. He does not teach well..but hes fair.
This class is extremely hard. I took calc in highschool and got an A+ and barely got through his class. The tests are extremely hard (even if you go through every problem in the book to study). the class started full and ended with about 10-12 people left.
I love wondi. He was such a great professor, if you try your best he will give you the grade you deserve. He is very caring, pretty hard to understand at first but i got used to it. take him!
Wondi was so nice! I LOVED him, at first i was really intimidated by him because of all of the comments on here but he is such a nice guy! He always offers help, but does have high expectations. Go to class, and participate and you'll pass!
To sum up Wondi's teaching skills in one word would be HORRIBLE. He is hard to understand due to his accent, he plays favorites and it is very obvious, and the way he explains how to go about solving a problem is messy and unorganized. If you are trying to do well in this class, then take it with a different professor. Seriously.
Wondi was by far the worst math teacher i have ever had avoid at all costs. Tries to be funny but does not make up for his lack of ability to teach.
I wasn't a fan of him as a teacher. He's a nice guy but he doesn't speak enough english to explain the material. I feel bad saying this because he's nice but he shouldn't be teaching because he's very difficult to understand.
The most knowledgabele math professor I ever had. If you are looking for an easy time this class is not for you. If you are willing to work hard and learn new stuff take him.
He was such a tough grader had to drop after the first test. The class average was a sixty and insisted it was all of our faults. He explains things very technically but is useless when it comes to explaining them practicably. I would not take him for any class for any reason
Definitely a language barrier. The guy knows a lot but cannot relay that information to you well at all. Hardest grader i ever had. quiz/test every week. he drops the 2 lowest quiz grades, so if you do end up taking him and you fail 2 out of the first five, drop the class cause you won't be able to bring that grade up
If you aren't good at math, DO NOT TAKE HIM. He moves way too fast for anyone to fully comprehend the information and gets mad if people start asking too many questions and answers with witty remarks. I dropped his class after the 2nd test and had to re-take this class with a different professor and wow what a world of difference.
Okay so if your not good at math, it will be difficult. He teaches at a fast pace and expects students to understand right away. ALWAYS go to class, not just for attendance but if you miss a class you will be behind and lost. We did not use our text books much at all, maybe for a few homework assignments thats it. Nice guy overall.
If you are not good at math, DO NOT take this course with Wondi. Although he is a good guy, he assumes you know that you understand it. You can ask questions after questions and it will never be clarified.
Yes, he is hard to understand and yes, he goes quickly through the material, but I skipped at least 5 times, fell asleep all the time in the class and still got a B+.As long as you review everything he goes over in addition to the notes you take in class you will do pretty well. Just watch out for the quizzes, way harder than the tests and examples
If you aren't good at math, look for another teacher to take this course. Doesn't use the book, quizzes are probably harder than the tests/midterm. Also a language barrier, sometimes lectures were hard to understand. Attend the workshops and at least attempt the homework, though he did not collect it often in our class
Horrible teacher especially if you are not good at math. I was required to take this math class and I struggled in it a lot. Has a heavy accent so is very hard to understand. Also he says ok or "k" every moment of class. I am a hard working student and I ended up with barely getting a b-
Calculus is a hard class if you aren't good at math. Although there are a lot of negative reviews, I disagree. This is way easier than a high school calculus class by far. We went over a month without homework, which was awesome. A lot of the quizzes are take home. The test had problems taken directly from the quizzes. Awesome class.
TAKE HIM! I love math and this class was super easy. he gives quizzes weekly and I haven't gotten below an 85, there are 2 exams and then a final which are based off of the quizzes and two task sets you get to do with a group!! Attendance doesn't really count and I have never had homework for his class that was graded, its all if you want to do it.
He is a nice guy and he's not a bad teacher if you're good at math. Asking for help always results in answers like "Just apply the knowledge", he assumes that you will grasp the concept of the lesson in 1 explanation. He'll explain and then say "Is that clear? ok" and move on. If more than 1 person asks for help he gets frustrated with the class
by far the worst math class ive ever taken. ive never done bad in a math class until i took this course. super heavy accent, spends too much time on unimportant details. had to pay over $100 for an access code to do homework that had nothing to do with what we did in class. if u struggle he tells u to get a tutor. take any other professor trust me.
Terrible teacher. Gives an excessive amount of homework, and does not prepare you for the exams. He doesn't help you when you go out of your way to get help. Nice guy, but the class is set up for you to fail. Take any other professor.
I took Wondi for Quantitative Reasoning my first semester freshman year, this class was terrible. His accent is often hard to understand and he doesn't simplify things. He doesn't care if you're passing or failing. Do yourself a favor and don't take his class.
Has a very heavy accent and very hard to understand. He isn't willing to help you when you are stuck on a problem at all instead moves on and expects you to figure it on your own. He will put things he hasn't taught on the final midterm and test that you take and won't say anything about it
Wondi does not care whether his students pass or fail. The material on his tests are sometimes not discussed in class. He doesn't know how to adequately break down problems and teach them. His notes are hard to understand and skip steps. He is not approachable and consistently is in a bad mood and class and yells at everyone.
He is the absolute worst teacher ever. He is so rude and disrespectful. At least 20 people withdrew from his class because he is terrible. You can not understand him because he speaks zero english. Good luck and if I were you I would drop his class ASAP.
Do not take this class. Avoid at all cost. He is very rude and does not care wont take the time for you. A lot of homework. Very hard to understand during lectures. Never responds to emails.
Homeworks are lengthy for no reason. Humiliated people in a math workshop in front of everyone. Weekly quizzes often frustrating especially when topics aren't explained clearly. Doesn't respond to emails. Strong accent and often hard to understand. Nonchalant about his major discrepancies. Not helpful. Don't take him. Wondi DOESN'T CARE.
Let me tell you about Wondi, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!! His class was very difficult to understand due to his heavy accent. There was a lot of homework, quizzes, and test that do not make sense. Save yourself before is too late!! BEWARE THE WONDI!!!
First of all he does not check his emails so if you have a question or problem go to his office hours. He is "nice" mostly but rude at times and calls out people for no reason. The homework were at least 40 problems. He was not clear on how to do the lesson he just did a problem from the homework and answered it, did not know how to break it down.
AWFUL TEACHER
Would not recommend this professor.
He didn't bother to learn anyone's name, weeks in he still didn't know anyone. All of his homework had nothing to do with what we were learning in class. Not to mention most of the homework assignments were 50+ questions. Very rude and demeaning in class often blaming us for not understanding. The highest grade was 50 before he got replaced.
I took Professor Wondi's statistics class which was overall fine. It was his first year teaching statistics, therefore, I am going to cut him some slack. He is a very nice guy and very helpful. He is also very enthusiastic about teaching. The class was quite difficult, however, and you really had to put in the work to get a good grade.
The Science of Decision Making: worst class Ive ever taken, professor included. Only graded on 5 homework assignments, midterm, and final. Never responds to emails even when asking for help. Doesnt post grades on BlackBoard so youre blind the entire semester. Poor explanation of the material and constantly repeats himself. Dont take this class.
He does have an accent and people are acting like you cant understand him but you definitely can. As for the class, he gives plenty of time for HW and goes over the topics in depth. Math is by far my worst subject but I currently have an A in his class. With all the bad reviews here it makes me think he's changed his teaching style for the better.
I had Professor Wondi for two classes and although the course content material was easy and I got a good grade in the class, he was extremely unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend taking his class for any math criteria. One of the worst classes I have ever taken.
Professor Wondi is a great professor. I had him for The Science of Decision Making. He is very helpful in class and essentially walks you through the work. He does not force you to read thousands of pages of textbook. He keeps it simple and to the point. He assigns homework which balances the 2 tests. He also allows corrects for the exams.
This is the worst professor Ive ever had. He is very strict with grading and wont give you any opportunities to bring your grade up. Half of my class ended up withdrawing the class because they were failing. Im a junior and this is the first class that I've failed a test in. Also, be ready for 30+ homework assignments that take hours to do each one
The class was 1 day of lecture and 1 day of application in the computer lab. He did assign a fair bit of homework, but as long as you listened to what he had to say, you knew how to do it very quickly through excel. In short, go to class and do the homework. The only downside was that he makes you buy a key for Pearson MyLab.
Terrible about explaining things. Awful when looking for an explanation. Had to teach myself the class.
This iis for the Topics of Information Systems class. If you wanna watch a balding man play on excel all day during class and use webassign for everything take this. You don't really learn anything during lecture more so on your own time.
I had Stat with Wondi and his entire class was failing once the semester was coming to an end. I myself got a 42% on the final and I was a B+ student all year. The man took everyone's hw average and gave that as the final grade in the class. Just so he doesn't look like a bad prof. Students were stressed all year for that to be our final grade.
Went to his class to do a sit in to see whether or not I would like to take his STATS class, He was extremely rude. There were two girl in the back discussing work and he told them to be quiet; they told him they were discussing the class he said he did not care. He told me to get out NOW FAST because I asked a ? About the material
The professor does a horrible job at teaching and explaining things. You are using excel in this class and it could not be more complicated. He does not make any sense and the lectures are hard to understand. Not a helpful teacher at all as he does not respond to emails and does not go over things. Has not graded anything yet so you are clueless
Quite literally the worst course I've ever had. Requires a $90 program to submit homework. Outside of it being expensive, it's also the worst program to use for a mathematics course as it's so specific. On top of that he spends the whole class period lecturing one problem but assigns 20+ problems all with multiple parts and only covers maybe half.
took him in the spring of 2022. He didn't care to stop to make sure the class understood the information. also has will make smart remarks when you are asking questions.
Do not take if you need more assistance than others may need this a self taught class the professor tends to not explain things enough for people to understand!
This class was terrible. He barely teaches the material, has a very thick accent, and gives so much homework. You take only 4 tests the entire year that have problems exactly like the hw. But make you sure you pay attention to his lessons learning excel unless you will be lost. An overall unpleasant experience.
He does have an accent but it is easy to understand. This class was very hard and you will be using excel a lot. I don't think he does a bad job at conveying the material clearly, I just think statistics itself is difficult to learn.
Prof Wondi is the sole reason why I transferred out of Stockton. He embarrassed me in front of my peers and shared my failing grade in front of the whole class. Any person who gave him "5 stars" must be getting paid by him to do it. He can't answer questions and gives way too much hw. Do not take this professor. Stockton, get rid of him!
Very rude when talking to the class, and not helpful. Will call someone out in front of the class, rather than helping them. Talks down on the class if they do not understand. The homework is on Pearson so the website does help to explain better than he does. The class was not hard but did not like how he spoke to the class.
very rude and talks down to students and doesn't help if you are confused
I took him in Spring for Stat and he does not deserve the rating he has. He is a kind and grateful professor who still shakes my hand in the hallways whenever he sees me. Content will be hard without knowing foundation. Many students are used to taking courses with answers on quizlet and keeping airpods in every class does not make him the problem.
This professor does seem like a genuinely nice man, but when he goes into teacher mode, I feel like he is not understanding at all. I missed a quiz due to a death in my immediate family and he wouldn't let me make it up, and ignored my emails trying to talk to him about it. His phone number he gives to his students doesn't work by the way.
Stat is all excel based, so you must get comfortable with it. Pretty good teacher, very nice man. He is always smiling and very passionate. Does not answer emails. He has an accent, but became easy to understand after a few classes. Midterm&final are exact questions from the HW, hw&quiz are each 25% of your grade so do your work and you'll be fine.
-In-person Quizzes weekly -Lots of HW but worth it as it boosts your grades heavily. (worth more than quizzes) -Be prepared to teach yourself he's smart but can't teach -Drops 2 lowest quiz grades -I had avg 100% HW, 69% Quiz, 75% Tests (mid-term and Final) and was able to end with a A-. -$150 key for Pearson needed for all assignments.
Professor Wondi is a very nice man who is passionate about is class. However he only grades tests and quizzes there is NO opportunity for extra credit. Always copy down the excel formula he has on screen and save it because it will be useful for the Homework and Midterm/final. The miderm is Homework 1-5 and the final is hw 6-10
Professor Wondi moves very fast in class and when you ask a question he never answered them. Statistics is a hard class but harder when you have to teach the entire semester to yourself. I spent most of the semester at the tutoring center and even that was not enough, where I had to hire my own tutor. Overall, would not recommend.
it is all excel based- common sense. gives you the formulas to answer every question. unlimited responses on homework so there is no way for you to not receive a 100% for a hw grade unless you're lazy. midterm and final exam are just like the homework questions. gotta teach yourself but make up some tricks and you'll be fine.
This class was extremely difficult especially for those who are not math majors. Professor moves very, very fast, does not answer questions, I found myself teaching myself statistics even though I went to nearly every class. I would not suggest anyone to take this class or this professor if you don't have to.
Does not teach anything, has students rely on excel and gives no time for his timed quizzes.
Quizzes once a week If you talk with him or ask questions he will love you and will work with you to help you Great professor He wants you to do well
I had him for Statistics and its very difficult to understand him. He's rude, doesn't answer emails, and doesn't actually teach anything. The 4 people I knew who had him all dropped him. I barely passed and in the end, cant say I learned a thing. You can get by from homework grades kind of... but I'd choose another option.
Accelerated summer course. Lots of homework to complete. Professor provided useful slides. You had up to 3 attempts to receive high grades for homework. Quizzes and final was timed. Overall good class.
Rarely responds to emails, office hours are online only, lectures can be difficult to comprehend, all work is online.
There is a quiz every week, a midterm, a test after every chapter, hw always, and a final. Pros would be this class is easy since everything is on excel. I found that just keeping an organized page for the formulas separated by chapter is easiest to get an A. Cons would be that he takes too long explaining certain topics.
There's hw always, a quiz every week, a test after every chapter, a midterm and a final (all on pearson). Easy since everything is formulas on excel. Just keep spreadsheets organized by every chapter. Cons= takes too long explaining. Overall great class and just attend every class to stay on top of all lectures.
he was nice. takes a long time to explain things. many times he ran out of class time to give us the weekly quiz. this class is all about how to put things in excel, which sounds like it would be easy but he was really disorganized.
Professor Wondi's Stats class is challenging, but engaging if you stay on top of the work. The Excel-based assignments and timed quizzes require diligence, but resources like unstuckstudy can be super helpful for study prep.
Challenging class but fair. Do your work and you will do fine.
if you weren't religious before, pick one now and start praying
Very sweet guy but I do not think he found his way of teaching yet. It is supposed to be an intro programming class and I learned most of my stuff from the book. Very funny guy but unless you have a comprehensive knowledge on how to code I would recommend taking a different professor.
So in all seriousness, hes a really nice guy, im in the middle of his semester right now and it lowkey just seems like he gave up teaching after the mid term. He shows no more examples and just lectures which is really unhelpful compared to just showing us a problem. He didnt even turn on the board last class, id avoid if possible.
I took the science of decision making with this professor and if you aren't super experienced with excel do not take him. He doesn't answer emails, will not help you with any assignments, and even changes the due dates for the homework because no one can do them. His videos are hard to understand because he does not explain the material well.
Seems like a nice guy but when he lectures he moves fast and only covers half of the topics so it's hard to understand the material. I wish he gave assignments during class time that would help us learn better instead of us staring at his slides and figuring out what notes to take. Be prepared to teach yourself don't recommend and the quizzes..
Quizzes are given weekly and also lots of hw is given. He should give assignments to do in class or at least work in teams maybe it would help us to understand. I don't recommend unfortunately. He somewhat rushes through the topics. Especially taking an extra 10-15 minutes when class is already over. Some students end up late to there other classes
I feel like he is a really nice guy, but he simply cannot teach Stats. I took AP stats in high school, and I was completely unprepared for this.
Please don't take his class. He never responds to his emails it takes forever. Personally his teaching style is not for me. I'm lucky to have even passed. I had to search up YouTube tutorials and spend hours to understand the course work. Not an easy class.
My main issue with him is that his explanations for topics was absolutely horrible. Almost everybody had to find an alternative way to learn the topics. We had to do online textbook work and the application sucks and costs money. He is not very communicative and he is not very kind. Honestly you'd be better off learning statistics from a pigeon
Nice guy. He's a parent so I understand the lack of availability compared to other professors. He did make time for me with Zoom calls that were outside of his posted office hours. Ask questions, he'll go back and cover it. Lectures are dry but the lab time with Excel is good for keeping eyelids up.. Also generous with his time after class ends.
