take him! if you study only through his notes (not the textbook) and actually pay attn (w/o falling asleep) in the class you can pass w/B- (at least)

i never understand what the hell he is saying, his english is just not up to date. he is very hard, what i could try to understand him teach in a week i can go to academic tutoring and get in 10 minutes. he is a waste of my time

I think he knows his stuff, he just has ZERO communication skills. My advice is to study like hell in the beginning of this class and try to do good in the first tests which are easier.
He is easy if you study through your notes and homework. His reviews are basically what's on his tests. He is not understanding towards most of his students. Make an effort and ask questions. Keep asking if you don't understand.
Teacher barely speaks, he grunts. He doesn't want to hear any excuses. If you ask him for help, he refers you to the tutors. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION SKILLS! Not a pleasant person to deal with...
He's not bad. Just study your notes and the rest will follow. He is a grunter though.

Dr. Lim explains everything well and does lots of examples on the board. He answers questions and tries to be helpful, although sometimes he is a little hard to understand. This class was an easy A!
Ok, heres the deal. I suck at math and I needed this class to graduate. Lim is the man ! I came everyday and tried to do well. So with my final exam, I handed him a letter basically begging him to pass me, I need this for graduation, yada yada, To my amazment. He Passed me and I'm at work now !

Not an easy class, but if you work hard you will do good. Lim is pretty funny if you get his jokes, which he makes often. Study his notes and do the homework !
I suck at math also hated it since the 3rd grade. This professor doesnt make u feel like you can come to him for help. It kind of like if you know it u pass if u dont u dont pass. I came every day did all my homework. I did good on the quizzes but not on the test. I better pass this class. I wouldnt recommend him to any one.
Dr. Lim is really funny, his tests are just like the hw and notes..you have to take good notes b/c he goes fast, and is sometimes hard to follow. Then he will just leave the room for like ten minutes so you do get a little break. It was a great class !
Prof Lim is great. Sit in front of class and make sure you listen to EVERY word he says. He is very nice and will take the time to throughly explain everything. Easy A if your ok in math.
I fail to see how writing examples on the board without explaining anything qualifies as teaching. I'd recommend Lim if you're already good at math, or if you're particularly good at teaching yourself.
Unless there is a pop quiz all you are graded on is tests and the quizzes are few and fairly easy to predict. The only way he can be tricky is if you have to miss class for something like hospitalization. He is very unhelpful for telling you what you will miss and need to do even if you see him ahead of time. Otherwise he is probably the best.
Um... do not take him???... seriously though, I spent my class period trying to figure out what he was teaching :-X ... and yea, I spent my days at home teaching myself... that cancels out the entire part of his job, so maybe I should have been paid?... sad... so sad...
Don't ever miss class. Ever. Seriously. All his answers are in his notes...somewhere. Do all the practice tests tons of times before a test. Do the homeworks over and over again till you understand them. He lets you use formula sheets on tests, which are invaluable. Seems grumpy at first, but he's just a big ol' softie.
Can understand what he is saying, cant read what he writes, all by the book wish i wasnt in his class dont take if u can get out of it
His class seems very very hard at first but that is for show. He is a very very good teacher and and really nice guy. Just pay attention. He goes over the homework in class. Dr. Lim is an awesome teacher.
One word AWESOME! He is an great teacher and you learn a lot. The people who had bad comments to make about him probably didn't do any work or show up to class.
such a waste of time and money. u cant understand what he says and what he writes on his dirty dry erase board. if u ask him to repeat something or he gets mad because it looks like u weret paying attention. try not to take him, but all the stats profs are just as bad
so easy but u need to sit up close bc he talks low and take notes. the people who fail are the ones who sleep through class its not his fault u dont pay attention
If you pay attention AND take good notes, you can get an A. He'll go over homework problems the next day if you ask him.

DUde this guy doesnt know how to teach at all. He starts a problem and then leaves comes back 10 min later and goes on a rant. Cant understand what he says half the time and he has no heart. I passed but thats because i had a tutor. I didnt learn anything in his class .. Do not take him
he is horrible,i think he hates women because of his culture.Couldn't understand a word that he said.BIG language barrier,to think we pay all of this money didn't no i had to speak another language to understand math. never failed a class until now and i have 106 credits. won't allow extra time unless you are classified.told me sorry/notHELPFUL
No statistics professor is easy...get that through your heads now. And the fact of whether your female or not has nothing to do with it. I'm a female and I got an A...and it's not because I'm a math genius, it's because I worked hard, studied and passed my test. Yes he's a little hard to understand, but take it upon yourself to get tutored..
He is a nice man. If you go into the class thinking "this is so dumb" then your grade will make YOU look dumb. I have gotten 100% on both tests so far and it's not my major. The thing is you have to look at his handouts, memorize the examples and there you go.. A+ . Sit in the front- he probably will give you extra points on your final grade
He is an excellent professor. It is not his fault that the students do not care for the material. I would definitely recommend him. He is the best!
this dude has some **** comments which i have no idea where he gets them from. He grades based on whether he likes you or not. 2students may have the same question wrong but have two different grades. he is totally unfair and does not care about student success.....SIT IN FRONT OF THE CLASS SO U CAN HEAR HIM.
he is really hard to understand (accent and speaks softly) but he knows his stuff. he gives plently of practice problems to make sure the students understand. some pop quizzes and he tells you when the tests are. hard to understand, but a nice guy. not the worst.
Math 130 is HORRIBLE!!!Prof. Lim is not friendly and doesnt seem to helpful. He will let you know that hes in the library (for extra help) but when you ask him a question he gets a bit impatient. He expects you to get it sinces hes a Mathematician. If you ask him if he curves, he will tell you hes not a baseball player..lol. So be ready..
Don't ever miss a lecture, because you will be lost come next class. He isn't exactly clear all the time but I didn't find his class hard at all. He lets you have a formula sheet for exams and quizzes. He gives you review sheets. Practice the review sheets as much as possible and you will do fine.
easy class, 3tests and 3quizzes, don't do hw if u don't want, he doesn't check, do attend every class, it's interesting b/c u'll be learning, he does a lot of practice questions repeatedly, so just review a little before quizzes and tests, less time-consuming class than all others!!
He is ans excellent professor. He doesn't use text book so don't even bother to buy it. There are 2 in class exams and the final exam. Do the homework assignment because homework is 20% of your grade. He goes over the homework assignment and he does a review before each exams including the final exam. He is the best and I recommend him.

This professor is very hard to comprehend... Statistic class is already a hard class specially if you hate math and having him as a professor made it WORST for me. The only good thing about him was he gives great notes so always copy what's on the board. Be prepare to self study if you take him because he goes too fast with the lecture... Good luck

Don't bother buying the textbook, it's a waste of money, you will only use one chart out of the textbook and you can find it on google. Very difficult to understand him and he doesn't take time to explain the problems or concepts. Your notes are examples, you're better off teaching yourself...
Don't bother wasting your money buying a textbook. He gives you hw and he doesn't even collect it so don't even bother. He spends the entire class just writing examples on the board.. my suggestion is write them all down because they will be on quizzes and tests just different #s. You basically teach yourself. He's not helpful at all!
If you have any problem in his class, forget about taking any math class in your life. He is simply the best professor in the universe.
Lim is awesome. Had him for probs and stats and makes something that could be difficult to understand much easier. Weekly hw, always collects, and goes over answers for both Hw and tests. If you have questions, he always answers. 3 exams including final. Formula sheet allowed. Pretty random but funny guy. Take him if you can!!
Good professor! You HAVE to go to his class because he gives you lots of example problems that are similar to his quizzes, exams (2), and final. He allows a formula sheet for them. You do NOT need the textbook, all the test stats (charts) are online that you can print. HW is for ur own practice, never checks them. Again, do NOT need the book
Dr. Lim is a good teacher. Like other's have said you don't need the book but you DO need to go to lecture and take notes if you want to pass.
if you are deciding between this professor and another, he is straightfoward and very clear when he teaches. Barely need the textbook unless you want to do extra problems. Spends a whole class period before each test to review .He also allows u to have formula sheet for all quizzes and tests! Come to class & write down everything on the board!
Talks to the board, wants you to use a computer program for everything and barely understands how to use it himself. Goes through "practice" problems extremely fast and doesn't tell you what he is doing. Only good thing is he doesn't collect homework and lets you use a formula sheet on the test/quizzes. Syllabus sucks- there aren't any dates on it.
Had him for Stats1, goes through problem extremely fast and sometimes can be a little belittling. Also hard to understand so pay extreme attention. Doesn't check HW, lets u use formula sheets and you dont even need the book. Just go to tutoring, and teach yourselves the problem he goes over and you'll be good for the tests/quizzes. Great professor, make sure you copy everything on the board, it definitely is practice for his tests. Make sure you do the homework and ask questions if you have them, it will help you out.
Horrible Guy. Homework not graded, only grades are 2 total quizzes, midterm and final. Will stand there and bore you with problems all class. Will keep repeating, "Am I right", to the class, no outside life or office hours for help. Dont take this guy for any math class at WPU. Doesn't help or teach you at all.
Dont believe the bad reviews down there. If you can scrape the willpower together to attend class and review the problems 2 to 3 times, you will get a good grade. If this doesnt describe you, then it is perhaps time to give up on your dreams or scale down your ambitions. Chipotle is always hiring.
Dr Lim is probably the worst professor possible. He does not care about the students, does not put any effort into actually teaching the material, is hard to understand, and is condescending when you express criticisms or concerns. Please avoid at all costs.
Had him for elementary statistics. If you put the work in it can be a very easy course, however, Professor Lim is one of the worst professors I have ever had. Genuinely does not care about his students at all. Easy class, but I wouldn't take him again.
Professor Lim is the worst professor I have ever had. To be fair most of my professors were pretty great though. He is confusing, doesn't put in the effort to explain how and why, and he is very rude. He claims he won't answer "stupid questions" and is rude to even students that are nice to him. I find myself zoning out in his classes. No thanks!
Dont buy the textbook, you wont need it. Hes honestly a horrible teacher and you need to teach yourself the material. Thank God it was online so I could use my notes for taking exams or else I would have failed. He is very rude and is NOT willing to help studentsits really a shame hes still working at WPU even after so many bad reviews.
I guess I was lucky these past few times I had Dr. Lim. He is, by far, the most disorganized professor I have ever had. Dr. Lim, the person, is a completely different story, because he was helpful and willing to answer questions. When it comes to him, I would advise everyone to not take him unless you really have to.
Extremely rude and if someone had a question he would actually get mad and call us idiots and tell us we sucked. Thank god I had him online and was able to use my notes, otherwise I would've 100% failed. Very disorganized. Don't get the textbook. I really don't know how he's still a professor. Professor Lim is lecture heavy. You need to pay attention in his class to pass. He will just teach and ask if anyone has questions here and there, then continue. Barely any homework, you don't even use the textbook unless he gives homework. You take about 3 tests and 4 quizzes so you need to pay attention and attend class.
No textbook, he writes very clear notes. tests will be based off those & the few homework he gives so study them well and youll be prepared. allows one formula sheet front/ back for tests. Hes very clear in his lectures, very intelligent & has a lot of knowledge if you pay attention and take notes. Speak up if confused. Really enjoyed him
Lecture was pretty tedious but attending is VERY important because he gives example problems that are extremely similar to his quizzes(3-4),exams(2), and final exam. Pay attention, copy the examples down from the board, review them a few times and you'll be fine. Textbook isn't strictly necessary since HW is for your own practice and is not graded.
Genuinely, not a bad person, just a insensitive professor. He forgets that not everyone is good at math, and can kind of come off as insulting if you don't know the answer to his questions. He is EXTREMELY test and lecture heavy, so if you miss a class you are quite literally screwed. Doesn't check HW, do NOT waste your money buying the TB. [GL!]
He is difficult to understand. But if you take good notes and study the information on the study guide the tests are easy. He lets you use formula sheets on test so you do not have to memorize equations.
Very boring professor, he sometimes says rude things about students when addressing them. Not only is the lecture an 1hr and 40 minutes it makes you feel miserable from the minute you enter to the second you leave. If you have the chance take somebody else for STATS1 do it.
Genuinely a good professor but this is a class where you need to show up and need to pay attention. Taking notes for the whole lecture is a must if you want a good grade. Example problems in class are identical to what is on the exam. There is a textbook to refer to for practice problems to do at home. However statistics is not easy in general.
I thoroughly enjoyed this professor. Stats is not an easy class however if you attend every lecture, take good notes, and practice the review problems you will do just fine.
If you could take a different proffessor DO IT!!!!!! Horrible, he lets you think you are doing good up until when the date of dropping the class goes away, then he shows his true colors. VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. He insults you because he has over 10 years teaching and knows that he cannot get fired. DO NOT TAKE IT.
Not the worst lecturer I've ever had but the whole class is kind of haphazard. Didn't upload any grades at all until a week and a half after the final exam.
It's is 3000 level math course so some effort is required. Didn't have any issues passing the class, the tests are similar to HW questions and also before every exam (1,2 and the final) he spends the entire class period the class before the exam for a review using questions he gave in the past courses he taught. It's all about showing up to class.
Professor Lim was a very interesting character. He has an attitude, and he's very sassy. He goes a bit too fast for my liking, and his class was very note-heavy. But if you take the notes and write down absolutely everything he writes down, it's easy to pass. He also doesn't check any of the "homework", but it's very good to review for tests.
Mr. Lim explains the material very clearly. All you need to do is attend class and carefully write down everything he puts on the board. His exams closely match the notes, and if you study the problems he explains in class, you can expect similar questions on the test. He gives homework to help us study, not to turn in. He is an excellent teacher.
