I never felt bored while in his class. Mr. Alverson did a great job of explaining all the steps for each problem. I would highly recommend him. (Plus he's HOT!!)

This calss is not an introductory level class. Though Mr. Alverson does know what he is talking about, and he knows how to convey it so that the students understand. With the breakdown that Mr. Alverson gives, and completion of homework, there is no raeson to not come out anything lower tahn a B

Wish he taught MAT 330 so I could take him. Had him as professor in MAT 130 and 230 and learned alot.

I had Mr. Alverson my first semester of college and I have to say he's about the only one I remember from that sem. I'm horrible at math, learn slow, and take forever to grasp the simplist things. He, however, made it easy to understand and I was never made to feel like I was an idiot in his class. Needless to say, I got an A for his course. He was always helpful and would go over and over anything if you needed him to. I'm gonna take him for my next math if he's teaching. And he IS HOT!! Take him for sure!

Her was very easy to understand, homework every night, but it was easy and the class in all was just easy, i rolled through it!

He is willing to help you all you have to do is ask. Goes over the night befores homework answering any questions, does many examples for the next assignment and has review day before the test. Great teacher and ladies it helps that he is easy on the eyes!

He made Math 140 so easy. He gives about 10 examples for every concept and his tests are predictable. I really enjoyed his class because it made me feel smart. People say he is hot, but I don't think so. However, if there's an annoying person in the class he'll be mean to that person and it's pretty funny. (so don't be annoying)

Alverson is the best teacher in the world! I would take him for all my math classes if I could. He gives you a very fair amount of homework compared to other math teachers here. He also puts past tests on his website so if you study them for the tests you will definitely do well. You will make an A as long as you study and do your homework.

Alverson is a Wonderful teacher he breaks things down to were even middle schoolers can understand it. If I could i would definitely take him for all my math classes.

AWESOME TEACHER! I am taking him again for 145. He is there for help and will work out any problems from the homework on the bord at the beginning of class if you need help. If you turn in your homework and go to class most of the time, you should be fine. If you dont do well, its your fault because he will always answer questions.

I don't like math at all, but I ended up with a grade of 104% in the class--and I actually learned and understood everything rather than just spit it back up for the tests. VERY good professor!

This class was awesome. He is a really nice guy and he teaches the material in a way that makes it just click. You walk out of the class thinking wow, math actually makes sense. Take him if you get a chance. Not only is he a wonderful teacher but he also has a sense of humor.

He is really nice, and will help you if you need it. The homework assignments are not difficult. The tests from previous semesters are online, and are very similar to the ones you will take in class. He will flip a coin every time there is homework due. If it's a match it's due, if it's a no match the homework isn't due. Overall, great professor!

Awesome Teacher and very helpful whenever you need anything. Easy to get a hold of and replies to emails very fast. He is very neat and very organized. Tests arent too bad but you need to study which he also makes easy because he gives practice tests for each test. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...GET HIM IF YOU CAN.

He makes math SO easy. Sometimes I feel like the class is dumbing me down, but it's a nice change in pace when I'm stressed with harder courses. I really have learned a lot though. He's a bit boring, but explains EVERYTHING. He assigns homework every class, but always gives you time to work on it. It was weird though, when I saw him at a frat party

He's a great guy and he really know hot to teach. He goes very slow while explaining which is a big help to some who have trouble learning math. He gives out homework almost every class but leaves like 10-20 minutes at the end of class to finish it, so most times you end up not having any. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TAKING HIM

Took 117 this semester. Very helpful teacher, only a handful of problems for homework each class. 2 or 3 extra credit assignments, got to redo worst test at the end of semester. He understands the only reason you take it is because you have to and knows you don't like the subject so he doesn't make it your world.

Always do your homework. The practice tests on his website are extremely helpful. Doing all of them the night before gave me two letters grade difference on my tests. He's intimidating, but not mean.

He's an AWESOME teacher and he's really funny sometimes. He's really organized which helps you, but if you miss just one class than you'll totally be behind. He also gives you 10pts extra credit on your final if you get perfect attendance, he passes around a sign in sheet every day.

Probably one of teh best Math teacher at Murray. He was always well prepared, and he was very flexible toward the student's schedule. The only complaint is the coin toss to take up homework, but it is related to the course subject

It's Business Calculus, the class its self isn't very comprehend able at first, and he takes notes on the board, it's a must to be there. He will always help with questions, and I always enjoy going in there.

If it weren't for the very thorough and clear way he teaches I couldn't have done it. If you attend class, do the homework, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS.. you can get an A. The tests are JUST like the practice exams.

Professor Alverson is a wonderful instructor. He teaches with great clarity and is able to keep things relatively interesting. There is homework daily in textbook as well as once a week online, but it's typically not too difficult. Pay attention in class and you will likely do fine.

Great teacher, willing to help. He teaches very clearly and easily understandable. I suck at math but having him made it easier. Tests were easy, he posts previous tests on Canvas and as long as you do practice problems and the homework, you should do fine.

Mr. Alverson was one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He explained things thoroughly and if you needed help all you had to do was ask. My final grade was an A which I have never done. I highly recommend you use the "previous exams" tab under his course on Canvas. It's the same test just reworded question. I highly recommend Mr. Alverson.

I have had 11 different math teachers since the sixth grade... and Wyatt Alverson has been the best teacher I have had without a doubt. He has a very intuitive way of explaining the concepts of the course, and I even started to enjoy math while I was in his class. Highly reccomend!

Really wants you to understand what is going on. You have journal after every class no more that 10-15 problems. gives practice test options! after the test he gives you the problems worked out. I really enjoyed his class.

You think you're doing good getting 100% on all the MyMathlabs, and the journals are graded on effort and completeness, and then you get a B on your first exam, dropping you from a 95 to and 85. His journals and mathlabs combined are only 20% of the grade, while 60% is exams and 20% is your final. Just pay attention to the homework and know it.

Mr. Alverson is really confident in what he knows and how he teaches. He would introduce the topic, give examples, then give homeworks, which he calls journals, and would collect it after a few days. So make sure you do it. And for every exam, he has previous exams for practice on canvas. And you can message him for help whenever!

I had him for both STA135 (intro to statistics) and trig and he's a great professor. He knows what he's talking about, he's extremely confident in what he's talking about, and he always knows when to throw in a little professional humor. The only thing that sucks is that tests are worth 60% which is terrible if you're bad at taking tests like me.

Mr. Alverson was my favorite math professor I have had so far. He made the content easy to learn and was always willing to give extra help. He gives extra credit and the exams are very straightforward. There are no surprises on the exams.

My Math Labs worth 30% of grade and exams (5 in all) worth 70% of final grade. He posts previous exams from past years on Canvas so you can take a practice test. The past exams are exactly the same as the real exam except the numbers are changed. No reason not to get an A or B if you are learning the material.

One of the best math teachers I've ever had. He recorded his lectures and you watched them at your convenience. During class he gave you time to work on your mymathlab hw and answered any questions. He also posted exams from previous semesters and gave you a good idea of what to expect on his exams. Overall, very good professor and would recommend.

Dr. Alverson is an amazing professor. I haven't had anything above a C in math since 3rd grade, and here I am with an A in college algebra! He explains everything very well and treats all of his students equally and answers every question without judgement. You can definitely tell that he loves his job. 10/10 would recommend!

Really great teacher!! We had daily quizzes, but they are very simple if you come to class, and they do not affect your grade much if you do poorly on some. Gives access to past exams that are very similar to the new exams. Homework all online. Very laidback and funny, will let you retake quizzes if you miss a day. Definitely would recommend!

Professor Alverson is very good at teaching this course. He gives in-depth explanations of each subject and answers any questions you might have. He teaches half of the class, and then the other half gives time to do the hw on what he just taught. Some subjects are challenging, but very easily understood if you ask questions.

I really enjoyed this class. I believe he teaches really clearly and is able to throughly explain if you have a question. You have homework everyday, but its only 10-15 questions, and he gives you half of class time to complete it. I made A's on all my exams, and Made a 100 overall in the course, and didn't break my back to get the grade.

His tests are good, as long as you pay attention in class, don't cheat on your homework, and review before the test. Mr. Alverson is an incredible professor. Statistics can feel alien to some people, myself included, but he does a ridiculously good job at making it a little bit more approachable. I guarantee that anyone is capable of making an A on every exam in the class if they put in even just a little study time. Phenomenal prof.

Uses an online workbook that isn't always the best. He's a great professor and the class is easy as long as you show up.

A solid math professor who makes the material engaging. Daily assignments, but manageable with focus. Tests are fair if you review regularly. unstuck study was a big help for quick study prep.

Mr. Alverson is awesome. You get what you put into this class. Writing notes is incredibly easy; he writes all important information on the chalkboard. Homework is almost a daily thing, but it never takes more than half an hour. It isn't hard to make a good grade in this class at all while still learning a ton.

He goes over previous semester's exams to prepare you for each exam and all exams are structured relatively the same. Took this class in the Fall 2023 session. Everything said on here is 100% true. Alverson is great at answering questions and making sure you get it. I missed years of math and was able to catch up. He seemed genuinely proud to build me up. He gave us time to do homework in class so if we had any questions he could show us and that helped a lot.

I loved this class. I was really afraid that I was gonna have a hard time in statistics but Mr. Alverson is a great teacher. He's also really funny, so you will enjoy all of his lectures. I would take his classes again.

He is very good at math but tends to fly through the notes. He likes to pretend he won't give extra credit but towards the end of the class he gives a good amount of it and honestly his class isn't that bad. Absolutely need to study a lot to do good on his exams though.
