She is a really nice professor. She is really basic. What you see on the syllabus is what you get. She is helpful if you ask questions.I was a quiet person in the class and i actually asked questions cause she isn't intimidating. Sucks i had to drop the class cause of my job.She was a good professor.The quizzes are on the subject she goes over.

Definitely not an easy class but she is extremely clear in her notes and what she wants. Extremely sweet, until you give her a reason not to be. You have to be willing to put in the work!

Wonderful professor who is always willing to go out of her way to help! Difficult class so you MUST study A LOT. She can be a bit unclear in lecture but she is always willing to promptly respond to emailed questions and make time to meet you during office hours. Fun, interesting, & very nice. Great Professor. Studying is required to comprehend the material and do well in the class. Very helpful when needed. It is useful to record lectures. Shes a pretty hard teacher, about 5 exams, and a quiz every 2 weeks on lab, she has things you can print out to help note taking, but I suggest not to take her. Unless you want to just retake the class like i have to

Mrs. Guzman rocks! Excellent professor. I highly recommend her. I learned more from her than any professor I've had and I've had many - I'm working on my second degree. She doesn't play - she is no nonsense and expects you to pay attention and asks if you questions, which is a good thing because you learn. After all, isn't that the point?

Amazing professor. Very clear, gives you a lecture hand out to follow along & fill in for notes (helps but not for me). Quiz on labs every couple weeks, & a few exams, then the final. All very easy if you study for ~4 days prior. Recommended to read over notes daily (for any class!) Responds quickly to email and questions. Labs are very fun!

Also I HIGHLY recommend recording lectures. She doesn't go too fast but it helps to re-clarify for when studying if you miss anything in notes.

From my personal experience, she was great. Through out the semester she made the class interesting enough and more as for me not to want to miss a lecture. She was hard though, very challenging, but if you study enough, you'll do great. Overall I cant complain, I learned a lot from her and I would take her if she decides to teach another science class.

Professor Haley is a wonderful lecturer. She is very nice , helpful and patient with her students. I did not really have an interest in the subject but had to take it for a requirement. However, when I saw how it related to my field and the mechanisms behind the process, it was fascinating. Would highly recommend her

Don't hesitate to take her for Bio 3. Awesome teacher! She makes the material so clear and simple to understand. even some of the most complicated material. She really wants to make the biology material fun and relatable and it works. Attend EVERY class, record her lectures for good measure, and make study guides for notes right after each lecture.

I've never been good at science or even a fan but she made this class actually enjoyable for me! As long as you print out her handouts, take notes, attend EVERY class, and STUDY for the tests you WILL pass this class. She is interesting to listen to and clearly enjoys teaching. Great teacher! I had absolutely no interest in bio before I took this class and after I took it I honestly wanted to change my major. Lots of information, but if you study a lot you'll be fine. I opened the book once, fell asleep after 2 minutes, and then closed it lol Print the handouts she makes and study off of those and you'll get an A!!

Grate Grate teacher. You need to study very hard to get a good grate. every week lab quiz. She is funny, serious and helpful. take her you will not regret IF you take it serious.

Even though she is a tough grader, she is VERY fair. She explains the material VERY clearly and makes sure you understand the material. She doesn't give study guides, but she also doesn't give out too much info where it could be over whelming. She gives out quizzes every week and some extra credit to help your grade.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. Few tips: Don't buy the textbook - it honestly just confused me a little bit. As long as you attend EVERY lecture and take notes, you'll do fine on the test. Before I took this class I absolutely hated science. After this semester I have came to the realization that I don't hate science. I understood what was taught. Professor Guzman is a great professor. She helped me out a lot when I didn't understand something. I wish she taught other bio classes.

Prof. Guzman appeared very strict at first. But as the semester went by, she proved to be an intelligent, caring, and charismatic professor. Her tests were somewhat difficult, but they were pretty much her slides and notes. The book may be helpful, but I never used it and still got an A. I took Prof. Guzman for Bio12A (Birds of Winter) and it was a truly amazing two weeks! The class only meets three times in the semester, two of which are extensive field trips where you identify over 80 different bird species. It seems intimidating, but if you attend the trips and study the slides she provides, it's fairly easy. Super fun!

Okay she seems scary at first, BUT she's actually really sweet. When I first took her I thought she was intimidating and hard but she's not. Don't buy the book. Study and memorize her packets and you are guaranteed an A. She's straightforward so just do as she says. (this was her Honors course btw)

When I first took her class, she came off as really harsh. I grew to really like her. Class takes a lot of effort and you need to take a lot of notes in order to pass. However, she provides great lecture notes which function as study guides. If you put in enough time to study the lecture notes, there is no reason not to get an A. Great prof.

I now know how plants make their own food and DNA replicates itself like I really know and understand this because of her. Kudos

She's very nice and is on top of her game, but her exams are way too hard, the mean was not even half of the exam itself. She does offer extra credit which is a bonus but make sure to put in that EFFORT and always make sure to turn things on time. The labs are due every week, aside from the readings, she assigns every week before a new topic.

Not an easy class, but she's an amazing teacher. TRULY understood the difficult concepts of biology. She was very generous with extra credit (gave "fudge points" on tests to raise grades). In the honors class: weekly (easy) labs, quizzes, 3 PROCTORED exams, 1 final, 1 honors presentation. Sometimes a tough grader. Definitely gotta work for your A.

As someone who dislikes Biology, Professor Guzman has really changed my view on the subject. Professor Guzman is a very fantastic professor. Her passion for bio and caring for her students to learn is remarkable. Professor Guzman is one of the most caring professors, in the beginning of the semester, I was struggling on the exams so I began emailing her and joining her office hours each week. She is super caring, and is always willing to help. I will say you need to watch the lectures each week, USE THE STUDY GUIDE she gives you, and ask her questions!

I took BIO 003 during Spring over Zoom, while going in-person for labs. The Bio labs take a lot of time, but are not hard to do. Note Professor Guzman collects the labs books at the end of the semester and easily gives you 20 points. She gives lots of extra credit that raises your grade. Take Guzman to get a good grade. Trust me!

Prof Guzman is an amazing honors lecturer, she Is incredibly passionate about Bio and her lectures are very interesting and well thought-out. Good lectures, but we didn't have enough of them. We were pressed for time and had to watch her online prerecorded lectures for some of the units. Those are normally for her online students but she makes them available for review which is super helpful. Oddly strict grading scheme for some assignments but theyre made very clear. Overall solid.

She conducts herself as though shes teaching a high school class. Thats my biggest criticism. Threatened to take our electronics away at one point lol. Best bio teacher. The lectures were great and she gave outlines of the entire lecture and study guides for you to do. Bio has tons of information, with a bit of chem but if you take the time to study, its not too bad. The lab was actually really fun, and I got tons of help from the other professors that were there. Prof. Guzman is amazing!

Genuinely the best professor I've ever had. Please be ready to memorize terms and concepts. This will not be a cake walk but if you're disciplined you will succeed. Prof. Guzman was incredibly inspiring, you could see how much she loves biology. The labs are easy points earned. Occasionally offers extra credit. She wants her students to succeed!

Amazing teacher, she wasn't to easy because its not an easy class, I took her honors course but she tells u exactly what's on the exam. Sm extra credit. Pay attention to her lectures she gives litteraly tells you what's on the exam. Lab quiz every Monday. Has lecture videos. You can tell she loves teaching and bio. Will always recommend professor.

I took her during Spring 2025 and she was one of my favorite professors. She offered many extra credit opportunities and her lectures were amazing. I'm not really into bio but her lectures were fun and I actually enjoyed them. She was very accessible outside of class and you could tell she enjoyed to teach. Definitely recommend taking her for Bio.

Take this professor! The method is to watch her lecture videos after in person lecture and fill out the study guides she gives you. No homework, grade is based on 4 exams. But her study guide are pretty accurate to the exams trust. Just show up she really cares abt her students and wants you to succeed. If people fail its because they don't show up
