Prof Segura is a great professor and gives amazing lectures. He taught so much about criminal law and is very knowledgable. The best part is he always communicates with us, and if you have a questions, he is very approachable. Def highly recommend this professor!!!

Today Mr segura give a lecture on law and the 4th amendment and provided so much knowledge on privacy and searches that I did not know before. He really knows his stuff on law and I look forward to taking criminal law with him here at NAU

Proffessor segura is one of the few professors that actually cares about if you understood and grasped his lecture. I like the fact that he engages the class and gives detailed feedback on papers where its not completely negative

This class has become one of my favorite classes to date. Prof S made all the material into something I wanted to learn, and even though it was online I felt I learned a lot from the class. The videos he posts are very interesting.

He truly cares about his students. The material is interesting and there is no busy work. All assignments contribute to your learning and understand. There werent any exams, just weekly quizzes that are fairly easy to do well on. He offered multiple extra credit opportunities. Prof S was great 12/10 recommend, very understanding and knowledable

I loved taking my law in america course with Dr. S. I really enjoyed how this professor gave content that was from a neutral stance and gave clear examples. The best part of taking this course was how our professor communicated with us constantly, I would def take this professor again

Professor Segura is one of the best CCJ professors I have taken at NAU. He is a highly respected professor and gives the best lectures that include participation and group work. Dr. S's courses aren't like the other boring lectures you get. Trust me, you want to take his class any chance you get.

Professor Segura is a really nice guy! Always checks in on his students and truly wants them to succeed. Material is interesting! A few assignments here and there with a few take home tests. His lectures are more of an informal socratic discussion, so participation matters, but it isn't required that you talk in class. Would 100% take him again!

The class is online so there is no lecture, however he emails you multiple times a week with reminders for the work you'll need to have completed for that week. He is flexible on due dates if you let him now you need more time.

Professor Segura is extremely caring and a great professor! His assignments are straight-forward and he always answers any questions. He sends out weekly emails with reminders for the week which are extremely helpful. I highly recommend taking one of his classes!

Dr. S is an amazing professor with an amazing personality! He has shown nothing but respect and kindness throughout the entirety of the course and is willing to help whenever you need it. Though this course was online, I felt as if I could reach him whenever it was needed and even during the holidays he was there to answer questions for me!

This is the second course I have had with Dr. S and I was just as impressed the second time around as I was the first. Xavi was an absolutely amazing professor! I took his summer course CCJ 380.. The assignments were very fun and easy to do as long as you read the chapters and watched the videos. Super amazing professor who truly cares about his students. I plan to take more classes with him and I highly recommend taking his class if you have the opportunity.

By far the best Professor I had at NAU. Professor Segura cares about his students and makes sure he does not overwhelm them with so much work. He motivates his students to be the best they can be and is well organized. I did take a four-week course which did require a lot of reading, but assignments were easy and everything was broken down nicely.

Profe Xavi is one of the best professors I have had at NAU. Although this was an online course, the assignments were very interactive and not tedious like how some online courses can be. Profe Xavi did not over-assign, instead, he was very considerate of his students' well-being. If you have the chance to take a class taught by Profe Xavi, I would!

Overall amazing professor! Communicates great, is willing to work and help students,and provides great feedback. The workload is very reasonable for the class, great recorded lectures to help with understanding concepts. There is quite a bit of reading but worth it. Dr. Segura was a pretty chill experience. I was told his class was easy and he was very understanding and I can't reiterate that enough. Dr. Segura only assigns 1-2 assignments a week, is very lenient, and takes time to understand his students and what they are going through. I highly recommend taking CCJ210.

The best professor I have had for an online course. The class is based on a few, high-point-value assignments, but Professor Segura gives great examples and grades based on participation/effort rather than complete accuracy. Xavier also gives the best feedback to give good real-world practice within the CJS through the mock trial assignment.

Professor Xavier Segura provides very clear, informative, and understanding lectures. He sends out weekly motivational emails, which I think is very important because it uplifts students. He also provides very good feedback on assignments, such as what could be improved, etc.

The mock trial for this class had about 5 assignments total and they were all very straightforward. As long as you are doing what is asked of you for these assignment you will have no problem passing the class!

Professor Xavi is probably the most understanding professor I have ever had! He is a very fair grader, and offers feedback on the assignments. The class was following one case study that included multiple assignments so it was really interesting. I would definitely recommend this class if you have a lot going on but need the credit hours!

I took this course online, i loved the class if your a crime junkie or interested in being a lawyer, cop, etc, we worked on case files, selecting a jury, you got to choose to be the prosecutor or defense, we wrote closing arguments on the case and so on. It was a very interesting class would definitely take it again.

Given that it was an online 7.5 week course, the workload was not heavy. The professor provided in-depth feedback on each assignment. Prof. X values teaching more than just a letter grade. The class itself was interesting and fun given that we got to study case files and write from the standpoint of either the prosecutor or the defense.

Very interesting topics and easy assignments based around them. Professor Segura gives very in depth and helpful feedback on all assignments and is super open to help students, and takes constructive criticism very well and will work to adjust things in response. I highly recommend this class, just pay attention and read the HW instructions closely

He offered excellent feedback and was especially forgiving about late assignments. It was quite a workload, but every assignment and piece of material provided was engaging, helpful, and necessary.

The professor understood that sometimes you have to turn something in late when life happens. He is a great communicator with his students, would send weekly emails reminding you of what assignments are due. I have taken one of his classes before, and he is the reason I took this class.
