Man, song is the smart teacher, bc all of ya dont keep up with it, ya are just being lazy that's why ya get a C. His lecture is very clear if you put more work into it. But for me i didnt put more work, and i could understand him. To anyone said he is hard then ya are loser to richland.

This class is not easy but when you walk away you can a least say you know something. Most say this class is hard that's because you have to actually work for an A. His accent is not as bad as people make it sound you can always get what his point are. This class really sets the foundation for EE4301 at UTD. By the way i had him for both Phys.

The subject matter for this class was very hard, yet the professor presented it in such a way that made learning it very easy,his class note were so good that i never had to read the book i got a B in the class . i would have got an A if i really tried on the quizzes the exams aren't as hard as the quizzes

Song is an awsome teacher and deserve major kudos for the work he is doing. he takes time to help individual students understand every thing he is teaching. he is very lenient on tests and quizes in that if you aren't ready he'll have another day of review. he is by far the best teacher i have had so far, i have taken phys 1411&1412 so far.

Before I take him, I was really scare and nervous. I know he is not easy but I like challenge. I get to understand Physic and like Physic because of his class. All the assignments really worthwhile. He is dedicated and committed teacher. He shows the solution to each question. Nothing comes easy but you get to learn. That's what we're here for.

Mr. Song is very smart, willing to help you, and grades fairly easily. He also doesn't require any homework to be turned in. But he's VERY hard to understand in lectures and you can't just study out of the book or you won't be prepared for the test.

He is very helpfull you can ask him questions anytime any where he is happy to help you.His quizes are hard and the exams some of them are hard but no homework.no confidence on your grade even after the final because he gave the final comphensive big percentage.He is a choice to make if you want to be a Physist.

I agree with the person below me. Professor Song is not the easiest teacher in the world, but if you make an effort, you will succeed. As for his rudeness its college. don't expect every professor to be a carebear. What matters is the final grade, and he's more than lenient with that. took both 1401 and 1402 and he is excellent! i was dreading physics but he makes the class interesting and he is very helpful, always around to answer any questions. doing the homework helps to understand the topics more for tests. and dont be afraid to ask questions!

Took him for Physics 1 and 2. Excellent teacher, he is very passionate about teaching and is very thorough with the material. Allows class to more or less pick test dates. Gives lots of help and extra credit. Generously grades lab reports. Sincerely wants to help each and every student.

AWESOME TEACHER!!!!! Wants you to learn and wants to teach you. He enjoys teaching his students and is the head of the phys dept. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. Do the work, count it as an easy grade. Very helpful, Learn the quizzes and ur set. He is very lenient, if we all havent finished the quiz he will sometimes let the whole class turn it in next time; he wants you to learn.

Professor Song is a strict and helpful teacher. If you want to study physics, go and take him. You will have many chances to practice in and after class. If you can figure out his practice questions, you will do well in tests. However, his English might be difficult to understand. Don't worry. He writes key points on the board.

Lemme tell y?all who are trine take class with this professor, He knows his thing, and he is really nice person. His exams are fair, but you have to earn them. And try to seat at the very first row because, he speaks fast and has accent and alway everywhere on the board.

Best Physics prof. at richland. He's a little hard to understand but you'll get used to it. The quizzes he gives us are extremely helpful (most are practice and he goes over them); if you know how to do them you'll certainly get an A in the class.

Physics 2425 is really hard. He explained fast but clearly. If you know how to solve the problems, you will do fine in the class. Tests and final are tricky, but most of the problems are based on the quizzes :)

Okay, so even though i was critical of song for a long time, to be fair he is the best teacher of physics in richland. Definitely this class is not easy and you should only take if only you are required too. If you make A in this class, you feel like you have earned it.

This is THE class where you actually learn! If you do not get the part you do not understand, raise ur hands! and ask! Professor Song is my favorite professor at Richland by far. He really wants everyone in the class to learn physics. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that he can sometimes be TOO lenient with students who are distractions to the rest of class. But overall, he is a fantastic professor. Definitely take his section.

You will learn a lot from his lectures. Don't hesitate to ask questions. He will answer all your questions- even the stupidest one. He's really helpful. Go to his office hours if you are not sure about something. He's the best physics teacher there is on the campus.

AWESOME, this is a teacher, born to teach, he is clear and to the point, very helpful, and makes you learn, though he does go in to quite a bit of detail you will appreciate it later when you have to recall it again... he will teach and you will learn well.... one of the best dallas county owns....they should take pride in his!!!

You can use your textbooks, notes, scientific calculators, and scratch paper only (no other electronic devices like laptops, cellphones, etc.). If you have the software version of the textbook, installed on a laptop/ipad/etc, you must notify the instructor that you will use the electronic device to view the textbook only.

DO NOT DROP . YALL JUST KEEP TO THE END . HE WILL PUMP YALL TO C AT LEAST TO PASS. HE DOES NOT CHICKEN OF GPA OR GRADING. YALL JUST HOLD ON TIGHT. I FAILED ALL 4 EXAMS BUT I STILL PASSED WITH AT LEAST C.

He uses class time well and covers everything you need to know. The homework can be time consuming but usually has video examples that walk you through the problem. There are 3 tests and they are very similar to the review problems. You need a 92% to get an A, but it's very doable. Overall, a consistent teacher and a relatively easy class.

If you want an easy A in a physics course take his, i finished with an average above a 100. If you want to really learn physics, go to a real school. Make sure and listen closely during class, he likes to move around due dates but only tells the student next to his and pretends everyone should have heard it.

This was a great class. This teacher gave partial credit for problems on test and he has a great personality. I would highly recommend this professor to anyone in my opinion. The class I took with this professor was between a lab and a lecture class and you would have to make at least a B or higher to finish all the homework and tests by the way.

One of my favorite professors this semester. His accent takes a couple days to get used to, but he is really knowledgeable in physics. He cares about his students, and is always willing to help out outside of class. It's not an extremely easy course but he is a great professor nonetheless.

Hard because of the class not the teacher. Quizzes help for the tests. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I actually remember the things I learned from him instead of forgetting it after a few days.Don't disrespect him because he will respond and embarrass you but don't take it to heart because he has a hard situation that he told us about.

Fantastic teacher, the course itself is very difficult. He made it interesting and as easy as he could. The tests are easy compared to the reviews and quizzes. He is very lax when it comes to late work and will work with you if you show initiative in wanting to work hard on your work. He grade VERY fast and allows corrections

Professor Song is one of my favorite professors. His class has difficult material, but he explains it very well. Physics was a difficult challenge for me, and I failed my first time through. I took this professor in a summer class and I'm glad I picked Xiang Song. He took the challenging material and worked through each and every piece to help all my fellow students understand it. I asked plenty of questions and he never once seemed bothered! Recommend.

Took him during the summer. He explains the concepts in depth despite the course lasting about month. This class was fairly difficult but Professor Song did his best to teach the material in a comprehensive way. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of time outside class doing homework and labs. As well, be prepared for open-note pop quizzes.

I took Dr. Song for both PHYS 2425 & 2426 and this dude is legit. There' not a better PHYS Prof. in Richland. He doesn't teach straight out the book & breaks it down to where you can understand what is happening & some of his lectures are funny too. Register ASAP b/c his classes fill up quick. There is classwork but it is reflective of his tests.

Let me put this straight, Dr. Song is the best physics instructor among all other instructors in Richland college. He teaches the materials pretty well with a slightly thick accent but understandable. He gives lots of Homework but if you study those you will do great in the actual exams.

If I was to rate this class rather then the professor, it would be a 5 on difficulty. fortunately the professor is dedicated enough for me to give him a great score. He makes sure to try his best to make you know what you need to know, in the end any shortcomings in the class will be up to the student. (but really, this subject in general is hard)

Prof. Song is a best Physics teacher I've ever had. Take him, you never regrets. He brings tools to either lecture or lab to show you the material you need to understand. Never use power point or book. Give lots of homework to do to understand the concept more, and they will help you survive from tests. I took him for PHYS 2425 &2426, both got A+.

Prof Song is the best teacher ever. You will not find a better prof than him in Richland College. At the beginning of each class, he does a review of materials learned previously. Provides sample tests which are worth solving. Tests have same format as the sample tests. Homework and lab problems are doable. I definitely recommend taking him.

Hes a very caring professor. He will focus on specific topics for longer than he had planned if someone asks him to. He ensures his students have every opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the materials since they build on eachother. Not the easiest course material, but he takes his time and re-explains things so they stick.

When I read his review, a lot of people said he has heavy and accent and that concern me but I have no choice but online so, I took him. Physic is my weakness subject and I am scare but he made it easy. Sometime, accent is not a problem when they got enough skill and knowledge about the course. I enjoyed Professor Song's class. Easy to follow lectures and lots of reviewing the homework which will help you understand the concepts. His exams are a mix of easy and harder questions and like someone else said- nothing like the reviews. You do have to study, but he is very lenient with grading the labs which helps your grade.

Professor Song does everything he can to take a hard topic and make it easier to understand. Actually doesn't even like the book, so he often tells us to go to him for any questions. When you study for tests, study the review AND the quizzes. The review alone won't help you. I wish he taught more advanced physics classes, he's actually a good prof

Professor Song is an excellent teacher. He is obviously very passionate about the material and it shows. Though he can be a little difficult to understand at times, he is straightforward and fair and he is always accessible. He did an outstanding job of going over problems with us in class and explaining ways to solve them in detail.

Took Song for Summer 1 Phys 2425. He is a great prof and he is really lenient on a lot of things. There is not a lot of hw either. If you show up and study, the class should be an easy A. He really wants you to learn and you can tell he knows his stuff. The only downside is his accent and he is hard to understand sometimes. P.S. hes a jokester

I took physics 2425 with Professor Song during a summer semester. It was not a "give me" class. I learned a lot and had to study a lot. Professor Song was there for me when i needed help and I must say he is an excellent teacher. He will explain subject matter thoroughly and in an understandable way. Be prepared to learn.

I was scared to take 2425 during a summer session, but I am glad I took it with Prof. Song. If you are bad at calculus you can totally pass this class because he simplifies the equations to where only algebraic manipulations are required to solve a certain problem. Your grade depends heavily on exams but he gives partial credit on them.

Great professor, easy grader if you show interest in his course. Put some effort into this class and you will be well rewarded by Song.

Dr. Song goes out of his way to help students understand concepts and succeed in his course. In this online course, there was a lab once a week. The lab time included both a lecture portion and the lab portion. Additionally, there were lectures posted online for the students to watch.

I took University Physics I & II over the summer and got 100% in Physics I and 96% in Physics II. It can be done, but if you take it over the summer, be realistic. You will not have a life outside of physics. You absolutely get out what you put into the course. I relied on his lectures and the homework to do well. REVIEW the extra quizzes for tests

Of course this class is a hard class. It take a lot of time out of your schedule but Professor Song is fantastic. Hes caring and he will try his best to answer your questions. His test is hard but as long as you study the quizzes and homework you will be fine but make sure you understand the concept tho. He also gave partial credit on the test.

I took physics I and physics II with professor Song. Both classes were challenging, specially physics II. If you work hard in the class, he will try his best to help you. Make sure to participate and do all the homework assignments, quizzes and try to get good grades on labs if you get bad grades on test.

I hate physics with a PASSION. Song was the other reason I was motivated to do well in this class, besides obtaining transfer credit. You WILL have to study for this class, but Song is willing to help students willing to help themselves. He does have an accent, but his explanations are clear. HW is similar to notes, quizzes, and some test questions

Professor Song is fantastic! I recommend him for PHYS 2425/2426. Great lectures; if you don't understand, don't hesitant to ask. He constantly reads the room, and will ask you personally if you seem confused. I loved that! Practice HW (work in class) and take home quizzes. Song Xiang is great professor. If you really want to learn something in physics then he is for you. Physics is not theory but It is mostly based on numerical. I learned that thing from him. He makes physics clear by doing only numerical. Moreover, if you want to get good grade just understand each concept from quizzes and review he give for exam

This is a solid professor for Physics. I agree that his powerpoints are long and hard to understand. If you watch youtube vids (especially iLectureOnline) youll create your own notes and understand. The tests are not that hard if you study the quizzes well! The labs are tideous but easy. He is also very fast at grading and replying to emails!

Here is how to pass: Watch youtube videos, use the HW answers provided and rewrite them so that it has all the steps. Write down your steps on all the quizzes and keep them to study to tests and final, the labs can be tricky but reflect to the powerpoints for Labs. If you are willing to do the work you will pass! Prof Song is a fast responder too!

Professor Song provides you with everything you need. The course is fun and well formatted. Professor will provide feedback and grade fairly. Daily reminders for assignments. Would recommend.

Taking notes from PPT is way easier than the book because many main points are composed there. You just need efforts and use your logic to connect them. He responds emails quickly, so feel free to email him which part you haven't understand yet (I do a lot!). Learning physics takes time; online will need more than on-campus. Will take him for 2426.

What a great professor he is really nice at teaching and presenting the information you want, the best thing I liked in his class was that he demonstrates and show you the physical theories, also he is very respectful, knows physics, sends emails to remind you and motivate you for the assignments, and fun to be in his class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I took him for Phys 1 so I knew what to expect. I give him a lower grade this semester because the tests were a bit too difficult this time around. He does provide you with plenty of materials, but your grade is very much based on tests. Song is a good choice if you want to learn physics. If you want an easy A, look else where.

Its the easiest STEM professor I've had. Everything is online except the Final Exam which is in person. His online lectures is a PowerPoint that you have to read yourself and links to YouTube videos. What I recommend is only study the questions in the homework and quizzes itself. The exams are literally pulled from those questions.

Took him on his Fall hybrid class. One of the best professors I've had the pleasure to be taught by. He knows his theory and explains it in a relatively simple way so that everyone understands. The syllabus is clear with all deadlines in it, so you'll hardly miss an assignment. Labs were fun and educative, 10/10.

I love him. He is Very kind, diligent and he cares about his students. He responds emails very quick. You will have to work hard for this class, but he will help you whenever you have questions. I had him for Fall 2021. It was a hybrid class. Lab was fun. It was a teamwork project, so make sure you find a good team.

The assignments are very straight forward and well explained. Not lecture heavy so be ready to read the units. If you have any issues, they are very understanding.

Take him in-person! He is a great professor and will always help if you don't understand a topic. Physics is a hard subject but he makes the lecture become easier to understand and interesting. Homework and labs are online, due on the same day every week. Makes it easy to work with your schedule. No lectures, just notes. Lab's are good introduction to unit. Dr. Song is very understanding if you miss an assignment, and always responds within 24 hours.

Prof. Song is a great professor; however, I highly recommend taking his course in person. I found his logic very hard to follow in an online course, which made this class very time-consuming and difficult. Overall, he is still a great professor, but if you take the online course, it will be harder to learn the topics than in person.

Great professor! took him for Phys 2425 & 2426. Explains things well and never used a single slide show. gives a little home work and quizzes. Labs come pre-written. exams are all free response and gives points for work shown. Would definitely recommend.

I'd recommend taking the 16wk course over the fast-paced ones - deadlines are much more manageable this way, especially since the course is quite extensive. All assignments are posted well in advance so you can work ahead and turn things on time. There are several example assignments that mirror actual tests/quizzes, which was really helpful!

This teacher is amazing! I took his morning in-person class and I can tell you he cares very deeply about each and every student. He makes sure every student understands the topic. Do not worry about deadlines he is very understanding if you are a couple of days late. Gives a lot of papers to review for upcoming exams, and makes it easy to study.

His lectures were very informative and basically covered everything you need to know, he did in-class practice for the hw and quizzes and for exams, and the labs were very easy to follow. Very helpful when you ask him anything and always willing to help (in class or by email).

The most or 2nd most passionate teacher I've had at DCCCD. Always willing to help, friendly, punctual. You HAVE to take this guy if you're taking physics, highly doubt there's anyone better. Heavy accent, however. But it's really not a deal at all if you've studied the material beforehand so you know what words he's saying.
