Her lectures and tests have a lot of errors which make the material very confusing. She told me incorrect information while taking a test and it cost me a letter grade.

This class isn't bad or anything. She takes really quietly, just reads off the powerpoints, and attendance isn't mandatory. ECON sucks but she's a cool professor and she curves grades at the end.

honestly professor liu was really good. her accent isn't that bad and her lectures are pretty clear. she is very transparent about tests and they're pretty much the problems we do in class or on the homework. you just have to make sure you go to every lecture because this class is pretty much just 6 homeworks and 3 exams. easy just put work in

The professor is quite fast and unorganized in the way she teaches. I am more of a step-by-step person and I need concepts and formulas clearly explained to me. The TA for the class has helped me understand the concepts I have had trouble with and the TA has a way of teaching that the professor lacks to help me understand. Don't take her.

Do yourself a favor and choose a different upper-division econ class. She does not teach clearly, often not showing all her work or the way the information is presented is poorly organized. The first test was easy but the other ones were much more difficult and you are unable to drop the class because of how late into the semester the next test is

I do not get the hate for this professor. Yes, her class is tough (do not expect any upper division class to be easy). However, she curves the midterm and finals and the final grade, so that every one of her student has a chance to succeed. To be absolutely honest, if you do not get at least a B in her class, I do not know what to say to you.....

Past reviews on this professor are false. The practice exams she uploads are nothing like the actual exams. She must have changed it up because they are no where near the same. Also most of the class could not understand her. The slides she uploads are horrible She is very quiet and has an accent. She is very strict on time during exam "IM LEAVING"

These other reviews need to be taken down as they are false. The practice exams and slides have nothing to do with the actual tests. She talks very quiet during tests and half the time her answers that she gives are wrong. Most of the class didn't know what was going on and she did nothing to help the class. Strict time limit on exams too.

Passed the class but she was a waste of time. Please DON'T take her unless she's your last option. Her notes are not helpful, her practice exams are not the same as the real exams, the curve that she always talks about isn't even worth staying for. Besides curve, only gives 10 points TOTAL on homework and the rest of the points count towards exams.

Notes were only thing helpful to me but she teaches difficult but seems nice. Very few points on hw (easy A as long as you try HW) and rest are exams and final. Gives you a cheat sheet front a back for all exams but is very strict on time and will leave. Slides don't correlate to what she teaches and review not helpful. Curved by 10% I barely pass

Difficult to understand because of her accent but she tries her best to explain. It's hard to do well on exams if you don't go to class because she explains EVERYTHING and it's hard to read notes without her explanations. Only 3 exams, homework assignments every chapter but they're an easy A if you just answer every question, whether wrong or not

Her Chinese accent is heavy, but she tries her best to explain if you ask. She gives lots of examples which will be in exams, so take notes. Her grading scale is A for 88, B for 75, C for 62, D for 50. Only 5hw for 10% and the rest on 3 exams. She allows you to bring a C-S tho, so no EC's is understandable. She's better than J Hou and Guy Yamashiro

6 Homework assignments (2 points each), 3 midterms (30 pts each) . Make sure you do the homework, it will save you. Exam wording will mess you up. example she'll switch up Total Cost (TC) to Short Run Total Cost (SRTC). Little things like that trip you up on the exam. Use the class lecture problems as exercise over and over again and you'll do fine

You will pass the class if you don't skip classes because her class doesn't have lecture slides, do the hw, practice problems and you will be fine. I don't see any problems with her accent as well as her way of teaching. It will be challenging but overall I enjoyed it.

My feelings about her are mixed. On one hand, she cares. On the other, I don't think she's capable of conveying the material in such way that is conducive to learning. She skips showing certain steps and her lecture can feel rushed at times. I think the Econ dept would benefit from Singh showing them what effective pedagogical methods look like.

Maybe it's just me, but the fact she starts lecture without even greeting us kind of feels like she's just there for the paycheck. Tbh she's not even that bad of a lecturer, I just feel like being engaging with the students is something you should do if you're teaching a course like this.

This professor is by far the least technologically adept one I've seen. Refuses to use the readily available projector. Doesn't post slides or use a textbook besides hw, and to top it all off, she writes on the whiteboard with words you can't read. So kiss your seat at the back of the class goodbye. Shes nice to talk to, but thats all.

gonna warned u that this class is hard. make sure to practice her lecture & hw problems as they will be on the exams. did that but still earned a B in the class. 90% of ur grade is based on 3 exams & 10% is based on 5 hws. the prof does not post any slides or info & u will need to attend all the lectures in order to passed the class.
