Awkward class, make sure that you talk or else you will get a bad participation grade. You have a note card due every week if you don't do them you will get 2 points taken away, and a paper every two weeks. If you don't come to class you get 5 points taken away. You have one presentation on chapter from book. if class ends 2:15 don't pack at 2:14.

Dr. Kout is an awesome professor. At the begnning of the semester I was unsure about him. He is very particular when it comes to grading. At the end of the semester, I grew more fond of Dr. Kout because he deeply cares for his students. He does the lectures with the class and participates as if he were a students too.

Do not take him! He picks favorites and if you aren't one of them, you're definitely not getting an A. He is not very clear on instructions for assignments and is a very tough grader. 2 papers worth 30 points each, 6 sketchbooks, and 2 participation grades. He will take off points for everything! Kout is very nice, but his class was just not for me. I did so well in 2110 and 2120, so I was not expecting this. It's not that its a hard class, but he only puts in 5 maybe 6 grades for the ENTIRE semester, so if you mess up one assignment... good luck. Really disappointed in this one, I don't think any of us received the grade we deserve.

Dr. Kout is an excellent professor. He is particular, but it is because he challenges societal ideas and forces you to think about education beyond what ever assumptions you come into his class thinking. If you can't handle this type of course, you shouldn't be an education major. He is really helpful and always makes sure people are respectful

He a progressive teacher. He is accessible through email for assistance on assignments before the due date. Gives extra credit assignments that are relevant to class ideas. Class prep assignments are due 30 minutes before class starts which include stating main idea, selecting a powerful quote, and explaining why quote is powerful from the reading.

Be sure to participate in class discussions. There are 7 grades: 4 sketchbooks, 2 participation, and a capstone paper worth 30% of your grade. He is lenient with absences and late work if you communicate with him. Weekly D2L discussions are attendance "grades". The syllabus gives detailed instructions for papers. Great professor! This is not a review typed here by AI idk why people assume that Yacine Kout stands as an exemplar of pedagogical excellence, lauded by students and colleagues alike for his unparalleled mastery of his field and his unwavering commitment to fostering intellectual growth. I have heard many students have issue with this professor over attendance, grades, participation, AI, and how hard he grades. You can't miss more than 3 class periods, you have to be talking in class and with partners and are graded on it. There is a normal amount of work but I spent so much time in class perfectioning my work due to how he grades.

He never made since on what we where learning I had to look it up myself. He also pretty much said we can't have our own opinions when he asked for it. It has to be the opinion he wanted, even though he asked us for our own opinion would only give grades of 66.66 33.33 and zeros overall horrible teacher and also had us read a life story of his.

I had Professor Kout for EDUC 2110 and 2120. He is a tough grader, but READ HIS COMMENTS ON YOUR WORK! If you email him about the feedback (he usually leaves a question or asks you to explain something again). Speak in class (free grade). Simply questions or answering questions he has asked.

Dr.Kout cares very much about his students understanding the material. The first few (like 2-3) assignments, it may be a little difficult to grasp what he's looking for but it gets clearer as it goes on.

Once you get used to how he grades and how his assignments are, it's a pretty easy class. The discussion posts are long, but very manageable. He's also pretty lenient when it comes to redoing an assignment if you scored poorly on it. The class consists of a weekly discussion, a feedback assignment, one proctored exam and 4 letters. It's really easy

Take someone else if you can!! He is very left leaning and only teaches based off his opinions. I would have liked to hear information from both political standpoints to form my own opinions but that's not going to happen with him. Attendance is mandatory & he will try to kick you out of the class if you miss enough. His instructions are VERY vague.

Took Dr. Kout for 2110 and 2120 and loved his class! As long as you show you understand concepts you will get a good grade! Participation sounds scary but in reality everyone talks in this class so don't be afraid of this part. His work is a lot of in person discussion and a few writing assignments, no tests or quizes! Honestly loved his class!

I took the class online, but Professor Kout's class was easy, as long as you do the assignments and show that you understand the material, which isn't hard to get. Every week there are discussion assignments, but it's only to further deepen your understanding. There aren't any quizzes or tests. The final is an essay.

He was a hard grader. I followed the rubric to a tea for his assignments and somehow they still weren't right for him. even with tutoring help and his help I was never able to score above a 60 for his "class letters". even though his class was easy, he grades you based off 2 things and its super easy to fail.
