New Prof. Still developing her grading and teaching style. Tests were pretty easy. Class got a little tougher as the semester went on, but that's how it is in any ECON class. Explained concepts well. If you want an ejoyable learning experience that is fairly easy at the same time, then take Dr. Li
she is very sweet! her lectures are sort of long and boring but i guess you can't make econ that exciting :) overall she is very easy to talk to and wants everyone to do good, so when the class needs it, she will give out extra credit. attendance is mandatory though. i would definitely recommend her :)
She's a very nice lady. She just recently graduated so she def. understands that her students are on the same boat when she was in college. I thought she was helpful. But you may have a few difficulties understanding her because of the accent but other than that I think her exams are quite easy.
Yan Li is a great professor. She tells students to read the textbook, but it's easy to get by with just lecture notes. She reviews the previous lesson at the start of each day, and will give detailed help during her office hours or by email. I recommend sitting up front since she can be difficult to hear in the back, but it's not hard to get an A.
Very hard to understand, and unfortunatly, not an engagig professor. She has a clear understanding of the material she teaches, but she has a hard time conveying it to her students.
Yan was a very helpful Professor. The class was very easy and tests were pretty straight forward Multiple Choice. Take this professor!
Easy class and an easy grader. Very nice and helpful. Tests are multiple choice and are pretty easy. Probably one of the better Econ Professors at UWEC.
Pretty easy class. Easy tests. Very helpful with questions outside of class.
Really easy class. She is very helpful and approachable if you have problems. A's are pretty easy to get. B's are even easier.
Class is very easy. Recommend going over the review packets prior to tests because half of the questions for the test are on the review packet.
Does a great job of presenting the info in an easy to understand manner. Very easy to approach outside of class and very helpful if you still have trouble. Work and exams are really simple. Hope to have her again.
Very easy. Print off powerpoints to follow along. Her accent may seem impossible at first, but after a few weeks you get used to it.
her class is super easy and anyone should get an A if they somewhat try. never opened the book, print off notes on d2l and you'll be fine. do the study guides before tests and turn in homework. her accent is not bad at all and shes always willing to help any student with any question. take her!
Professor Li is the sweetest person I have met here at UWEC. She is so helpful, and her teaching methods really work. She uses power point and posts the slides before class. Three tests including the final which is not comprehensive. I wish I could take her again and again.
I had her for money and banking and fluctuations.. Her class is a piece of cake. Since the final is a group project don't plan on doing much the last 4 weeks of class.. Don't miss the homework, they are worth a lot- To be honest, you're not going to get much out of either class- if you're seriously interested in econ take someone else.
Best class I've ever taken! I'm really bad at Econ, but Professor Li made it easy to understand. When I had questions, I'd email her and she'd email me back within a couple of minutes with the answer. She has a little bit of an accent, but it's not hard to get used to. I would take this class, it's easy, but you learn a lot.
Great professor! Loved her
Very will organized classes. Everything on slides, don't use text book. Review slides take test that easy! She has a little accent, but I got use to it.
The class is easy enough, Dr. Li is really nice and is always there to help you. Don't be afraid to e-mail her or approach her. She takes random attendance, her tests and quizzes are pretty easy. I wasn't super impressed with her, but by no means is Dr. Li a bad teacher.
Dr. Li is a fantastic teacher. She has an accent that make take a little getting used to, but once you do, she is very easy to understand. Her classes are very straightforward. Print off slides from D2L and you will get a guaranteed A or B.
I took money and banking with her, and found this course very interesting and informative. It feels good to see what I learned in class can be applied in real business world. A great professor!
Professor Li's class was difficult. Texts were very hard but there was hardly ever any homework. Although she was hard to understand and the pace was a bit fast, she was very willing to help whenever anyone visited her during her office hours. She would help one on one and also offer extensions if a good reason was given.
Prof. Li was one of the easiest and best teachers I have had yet. She has all of her notes on power points that she posts on d2l so you never have to worry about missing anything in class. She says class is mandatory but she only randomly takes roll. Has reviews for the tests that make the tests a breeze. You can't do better for this class.
Powerpoints are straight-forward and simple to understand. Hmwk is hard but extremely helpful when it came to the quiz/tests and she puts up the correct answers to the tests/hmwk which helps alot. She is very thorough in explaining hard subjects and is very helpful when you don't get it. Excellent professor. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
Prof. Li is super nice and funny. She is very knowledgable and cares about her students. She teaches pretty strait forward and goes over everything you need to know. Hardly any homework and tests and quizzes are generally pretty easy. She says funny things too.
She's so helpful! Will always be willing to explain things, and notes are already made out for you. (You just print them off D2L and fill in the blanks.) Exam questions usually repeat quiz questions, and a lot of exam/quiz questions are straight from class exercises. Never used my book once.
Very nice lady. Hard to understand at first but her tests are straight from the powerpoint along with the quizzes and the homework is super easy! Take her
Dr. Li is a fun professor! She is a nice grader on tests and homework, however she does grade harder on the papers. The work load for this class is pretty decent-her powerpoints are straight from the text, so you don't really need to read the book. She makes the class fairly easy!
SHE IS AMAZING. At first I wasn't sure about her, she is hard to understand in the beginning but she ended up being one of my favorite professors. Powerpoint's and lectures were extremely helpful. I actually feel like I learned something from this class. Listen, take notes and keep up with the work and you'll do fine. Study for the tests!
Hard to understand because of her accent. I felt that it was a tough class. Be sure to study and you should be fine.
I loved her as a professor. Knowledgeable, well prepared, very willing to help, really caring how much we could learn. I learned a lot.
Loved this professor!!! Very organized, knowledgable and helpful! Attendance is not mandatory, but you learn a lot from lecture and I would strongly suggest not missing the review days, where you get a review packet and you go through some of it in class. Homework is self explanatory and you can print the PPTs off before lectures.
Yan Li is awesome! Such a great professor! I am definitely taking her again for 104!
Yan Li is a wonderful teacher. I didn't have much interest in economics before this class, and now I was extremely disappointed when I couldn't get into her Econ 103. Her only drawback, which she admits to, is her accent. Being native Chinese makes her a little difficult to understand, but all her classes are on PowerPoint, so its all good.
She is very nice and willing to work with you if you struggle with the class or understanding her accent
Dr. Li teaches a subject I have no interest in, but makes it interesting and accessible for me. She is extremely kind and sincere, and is eager and enthusiastic to help students with problems. She is an excellent professor.
She's a very nice person and will gladly help you if you ask for help. She is a little hard to understand at first but it gets easier as the semester passes.
I found some concepts in this class to be a bit more difficult than in Econ 104. Lectures aren't always exciting, but very informative. Everything's on powerpoint and Dr. Li goes through tons of examples in class and is very clear about the material. Lots of study aides. Great prof.
LOVE Professor Li. Take her for both Econ classes if you can. She uses all powerpoints and all tests are multiple choice. She is so helpful and always applies what you are learning to everyday life. She is a very dedicated professor
She is an amazing professor. she really knows how to teach and helps you understand everything with examples. I bought the study guide book that she recommends to get and I never open the text book all I do is go over the study guide book summary of the chapter and do some problems and on my first exam I got an A! she also gives out bonus points.
I really like Professor Li! She made the content very easy to understand. The powerpoints we went over in class were EXACTLY what was on the tests and quizzes. Strongly encourage taking her!
Really sweet professor, very kind and caring. Although, I found this class to be challenging, and one of my least favorite classes. Very boring, only lectures. Lots of homework, quizzes, and tests. Requires a lot of work to do well in this class.
Li is an awesome professor! Really cares about students and wants you to succeed. Gives extra credit on homework and quizzes. Everything is multiple choice. She does has an accent but she uses powerpoint notes to help. As long as you study for the exams, you should do fine. I also found that the TA sessions really help as well.
Go to class and pay attention and you should do fairly well in the class. She uses power point slides that you can print out and fill in and there aren't any surprises on the quizzes or exams.
Prof. Li is a great money and banking teacher. The powerpoints are very informative and she keeps class interesting. Not an easy class, but also not hard.
She makes things very easy to understand. She is there to help if you do not understand something. Would definitely take her again.
Professor Li is a really great professor. Her power-points were very helpful, and she was always very understanding. She also occasionally gives extra credit so that is a plus! As long as you go to class and pay attention you should do well in the class.
Really cares about her students and even tries to learn all of our names in a large class. She gives you a review before each test that is very similar to what it will be like. She acknowledges her accent can be difficult to understand sometimes but it really isn't bad at all.
Loved Yan Li. She was a great professor. She was funny and cared about her students. Her tests and homework were easy.
Loved Yan Li. She was a great professor. She was funny and cared about her students. Her tests and homework were easy. Would recommend Dr. Li 100%
I think she's a great professor, organized in her lectures, thorough, professional and caring about her students
Extra credit just for typing your homework, gives you lecture notes to follow along with, very helpful and cares about her students, all quizzes and exams are 100% multiple choice. Yan Li is a great professor and I would HIGHLY recommend her!!
Yan Li is so sweet. She makes Econ super easy. There is homework and a quiz every other week. Her accent can be a little hard to understand, but other than that it's great. I've skipped class multiple times and still passed with flying colors. All the notes are online to be printed off. Easy class and great prof
One of the best professors I've had. She makes what she expects very clear in lectures, homework, and quizzes for the tests she gives out. Also she gives random bonus assignments and extra credit, so if you do poorly on a test she can apply it to the test. With two bonus assignments, she brought my test from a 84 to a 96.
Explains the concepts of this course very well. Always willing to help you if you have any questions. Not an easy course but you can definitely get a good grade if you put in a little work. She's also pretty funny on occasion and she's also super nice.
She's a really sweet lady and she really cares for her students. Good at explaining things and will help out of class.
If your professor gets back to you about whatever questions you have at 11PM, she must be a good one. I feel lucky to have her as my teacher. She is very professional and caring. She is a great teacher.
Yan Li is one of the best professors at UWEC. She genuinely cares about her students and gives multiple opportunities for extra credit. Econ is not always the most enjoyable class but she makes it 1,000 times better. I would recommend her to anyone.
Yan Li is such a sweet lady! She is extremely approachable and makes econ less stressful/overwhelming than other professors do. She makes it possible to do well in her class and is willing to help you at any time. She really cares about her students and their success. Highly recommend.
Dr. Li is so nice and wants you to do well in the course. There are 3 exams (final is NOT cumulative) there are 6 quizzes, 7 homework assignments. It helps that there are a lot of grades when you are a poor test taker. I never opened the text book. She will bump up your final grade if you are a good student. Highly recommend!
Yan Li is super sweet. You can tell she cares a lot about her students understanding of economics. I am really glad I took this course with her.
Good professor. Goes fast and has difficult accent. Gives bonus assignments and study guides for exams. She is nice. Not my favorite but still a solid choice.
Dr. Li is a great professor. She is caring, always getting back to my questions very quickly. Sometimes instantly. She is thorough in lectures and gave many examples / worksheets to help us understand materials.
I love Yan Li, she is a great professor. She really wants people to do well in her class. She gives extra credit on homework, quizzes, and exams. Also there are bonus assignments that she will put into your final test grade. If you ever need help she is very willing to help. The class is not hard.
Professor Li was an absolute delight! I really enjoyed her class. The weekly homework and quizzes correlate so as long as you follow along in class and do well on the homework you'll be ok! Li also helped set up weekly study sessions and put study guides out for students for both exams and quizzes. A very caring professor and wants everyone to pass
Professor Li goes through lectures way too fast. She talks about these things like we're econ majors. This is a very difficult class, especially for a level 100. I highly suggest taking a different professor such as Mehrnoush or literally any other econ professor and save yourself a destroyed GPA and wasted time.
Professor Li is a great teacher! She's very thorough in lectures, giving lots of examples and practice problems. You get a review list and review packet for each quiz and exam. This is not an easy class, but definitely not difficult if you go to class and follow with the lectures and assignments.
I LOVED Yan Li. For my first Econ class, I was a bit nervous about the subject in general, but Yan made it so fun and entertaining. She cracks jokes throughout all of the lectures and gives extra credit that makes a huge difference on the test. I wish I could have her for all of my Econ classes. TAKE HER!!!
Dr. Li was so much fun and one of my favorite professors at UWEC. The material is hard but she makes learning it interesting. She really cares about her students passing and gives extra credit/curves the exams. I highly recommend taking her
Yan Li is an outstanding teacher. The material is challenging, but she made it easy to learn. It is always clear what youre expected to know for quizzes/tests. Shes also very nice and understanding. I really enjoyed taking her class.
It takes a few days to get used to her accent but she knows what shes talking about and will try to help you. Sometimes she doesnt understand your questions but the TA is really helpful.
I'll definitely recommend Prof. Li! There will be 6 assignment, 3 exams and some class activities in total. Sometimes she might go through the slides really fast but she knew exactly what she's speaking and she always try to help you when you have some trouble in econ problems. Review packs will be given before each exam, which was helpful.
Very straightforward, if you raise your hand she doesn't bully you like other professors do, she answers them. She's very helpful and she gives you updates each day on what's coming next and reminds you of certain things coming up so you aren't behind. She has everything well structured so you know what to do. I would take her.
Yan Li is such a cute and nice lady. her lectures can get long and a bit boring if you are like me and only are taking the class because you have to. shes funny and super personable. i would 100% recommend her if you want a nice professor.
Yan Li was a great professor who cares a lot about economics and her students. She has a quiz about every week, but they are not too hard. There are also homework assignments and exams. As long as you go to class and study, you'll do fine. She makes the course easy as long as you are willing to put in the work.
She talks very fast and expects her students to understand the concepts right away. Personally, I needed to study for about two hours for each lecture to fully grasp the information. There is a TA for the class that holds review sessions once a week. There are three exams that count for most of your grade. She does offer extra credit
She's an amazing professor. If I could have her for all of my classes, I would. Her tests and quizzes are on everything we learn in class. Although reading may help, it's not necessary if you show up and follow along. It's an easy class if you do your homework (worth more than quizzes), and don't be afraid to ask questions!
She was a very caring professor and genuinely wants you to do well in her class! Quiz and homework almost every other week, but if you pay attention in class, they are very easy! Would highly recommend for an Econ class!
Yan Li is such a sweetheart, she cares a lot about her students and if you succeed. She is a really easy grader and gives extra credit on basically everything. Assignments are super easy and dont take very long. Study for the quizzes and then the exams will be easier. Gives a lot of study materials. Super easy A, basically had almost over 100%
My favorite professor so far. She is so sweet and really wants you to do well. She made me love economics. A lot to take in during lecture, but the slides make it easy. Gives bonus points to people who participate in class.
Great Professor! I know nothing about economics. I just took it because it was required for my minor. However, I actually understood and learned a lot from this class! As long as you do the homework and study for exams, you'll do well.
Li is a very kind and helpful professor. Very knowledgeable and wants students to succeed. Gives extra credit semi regularly basically for showing up. The class definitely builds on itself, but if you show up and listen you should do fine. I struggled toward the end of the class, but only because I didn't go to class as much and am fine with C's.
The lectures were pretty dry but they got the information across. She makes the class very structured and her grading expectations clear.
All of her tests and quizzes are online on quizlets so pretty easy to pass. Lots of busy work.
Some of her lectures are hard to understand but everything you need to know for the exam is in her lectures or on her homework assignments. She gives you optional worksheets to do that often have exam questions on them so if you do them you have a better chance of getting a good grade on the test.
I had macroecon online. I did not need to watch the video lectures to pass. The quizzes and homework was pretty easy. I suggest getting chegg to explain some problems if necessary. the material was pretty easy, but i taught myself everything. I would try to get an in-person class if possible.
Yan was my favorite professor in college. Her expectations are clear, she is a fair grader and understanding of life as college student. Yan also has hilarious dorky dry humor.
Dr. Li was an okay professor. She was very hard to understand, but the class is easy. I self-taught myself most materials. If you have any questions she is very willing to help!
Love her. The course is easy to follow, but tests are way harder than they need to be. Just be prepared. Super organized, she gives a lot of extra credit. I would recommend her. I went to office hours a lot for HW and she would correct it for me before I turn it in. You should too if you want 100% on all homework tests are so hard you'll need this.
It's hard to learn econ online but Prof. Li set up the course clearly so it was easier to follow than a lot of my other online classes. She's a very tough grader so make sure to triple-check your answers before turning anything in. Class average exam scores were usually in the B-C range and she doesn't curve.
Prof. Li was probably my favorite professor so far at UWEC. She was caring and empathetic to all students, and she had a great personality. Pay attention in class and you will do just fine on exams.
All test and quizzes were held online and if there was homework class was 'cancelled' and you had all day to complete the assignment. a little over half way through the semester she started essentially a mandatory attendance by having a video connect with a canvas text box but she always gave the one word answer for the 100 points.
Econ is a hard class, but I thought it was manageable with Professor Li. All quizzes and exams were online so you could use your notes. Homework and quizzes were given every other Friday, and on those days we didn't have class. She explains things thoroughly, and she could be funny at times. I overall recommend her as a professor.
Professor Li is amazing, she cares about students so much. Her lectures can get long at times but all quizzes and exams are online so you can use your notes and she cancels class to give students time to take them. Her class is structured very well. Econ is hard but she makes it enjoyable, she's also very funny. I highly recommend taking her.
Tests are very manageable, she also values participation and showing up for class and will give extra points for being in class
yan lis lectures are long and boring but she explains things well. her accent can make it difficult to understand her sometimes. tests and quizzes are online with occasional homework assignments.
In class activities are a decent chunk of grade. Sometimes overexplains, goes out of her way to avoid any algebra at all. Accent is some trouble but her actual English vocabulary is just fine. Cares about the students way more than the students care about the class (including me). Weekly homework, take notes and you'll be fine.
Dr. Li is a great professor! She's professional, knowledgeable, and very organized in her class and Canvas posting. Slides, assignments, grades and announcements are easily accessible. She genuinely cares about her students and responds to emails almost instantly.
I struggle in Economics, and Professor Li made this class fun! She does have a strong accent, but if you are attentive in class, that shouldn't bother you much. Every class was lecture-heavy, but she gave a lot of examples for concepts to make sure we understood them. Quizzes and exams were online, and we had 6 homework assignments.
Prof. Li is awesome! You can tell she's passionate about economics. Intermediate Macro is hard, but she made it doable and enjoyable. She presented materials well, made her expectations clear and often gave life examples to make understanding fun and easy. I enjoyed this course and felt I really learned a lot.
Very understanding professor and tends to give students the benefit of the doubt. Classes are kind of lecture heavy but she walks you through everything in class so just make sure you pay attention.
The professor was overall nice, but was a little biased in teaching. Overall, I would definitely recommend her due to her willingness and ability to answer questions when needed.
Li was a great Professor. I took this class with a different professor and ended up dropping with a W, but I ended this class with an A. Lecture heavy in person and has daily assignments but aren't worth many points so I wouldn't say attendance is too important. Quizzes and exams are online and class is cancelled for them. Only around 6 homeworks.
Extremely caring and made the class easily digestible. Has online exams and an online TA that is willing to help every week. Notes were easy just have to have a copy to follow along or you won't be able to get everything done very well.
I enjoy having Prof. Yan Li as a professor. She cares about everyone in the room and is very passionate about teaching.
Dr. Li was a kind professor and very knowledgable in macroeconomics. She is helping and willing to give students extra credit for participation. I only wish she used the textbook because her lectures were extremely fast paced and sometimes confusing. It was usual to go through 30+ slides in a single lecture.
