He is really the best professor for CHM 110. Watch the videos and attend class and you'll be fine
It was an okay class, not the best. The material is difficult and Split classes were the problem some of the classes he canceled I wish he would have not, but we need to move on.
Really nice person and really wants you to succeed
Very sweet and always helpful He always shows us the engineering applications for the material because he knows most of us don't care bout chem.
He was okay I have seen better. At the end of the semester when students needed him the most he canceled classes. May be university need to look at it more carefully and think about students learning.
He is an amazing professor but didn't calculate our final grades correctly and our last two unit exams did not count toward our grade at all so the first exam of the year ended up counting more towards our grade than the final exam. It still wasn't corrected after he was told
I am horrible at chem but Professor Maidenberg made it make sense especially when related the material to engineering. His NY accent is thicc
He's pretty good. Just do you work and you'll be fine.
the chem class was super difficult and not student friendly
Last semester was Maidenberg's first semester teaching here, and I can't entirely blame the mess that were the unit exams on him, that's partially the chem dept's fault, but even his lectures were seriously lacking. On multiple occasions he would forget to teach something on the quiz, and would frequently tangent off onto unrelated topics.
He can be more polite with his students then he is. His lectures are boring. Avoid him if you can since he does not answer questions.
Dr. Maidenburg explains the material very well!
He's really approachable and clear and it makes learning so much easier. Ive had so many profs who dismissed me in the past but Dr. Maidenburg really takes his time with students
professor maidenburg is a great one to have I recommend taking him for any class he teaches. I really like his "recipes" because it makes solving problems super easy!
Amazing teacher!
He regularly meets with me and goes over the material one on one even though Im not even in his section and I appreciate it and don't know how else to show it to him. Thank you professor, it means a lot when someone cares :)
ONE OF THE WORST PROFESSORS, EXPLANATIONS ARE WORST, NOTHING IS RELATED TO MY FEILD. BUT I HAVE TO TAKE CHEMISTRY. I AM DOING OKAY IN CLASS BECAUSE I PAY $50/HR TUTOR TO TEACH ME.
He's awesome
Teaches very clearly what you need to do well on his tests, and things that are important for the industry. Also allows you to receive points back on tests by doing corrections. He runs a very fair and structured class that is easy to succeed in.
He explains really well and doesnt make you memorize things which I appreciate because thats why I hated high school chem
The final letter grade assignments completely lacked transparency. No final grade boundaries were given. There allegedly was a curve but nobody knew by how much. The syllabus changed many times without warning. Scored copies of the final exam were not available and neither were keys. Lectures poorly recorded and explained very little. Good luck.
I don't want to be rude but he just shouldn't be teaching. He is not nice and is very unprofessional over email, he has literally made fun of students. You never have to interact with him over zoom/real life unless you need to ask something (which happens a lot because his instructions are so unclear). It is very sad that he is in ERAU.
best physics professor in the school no questions asked I can't believe I'm getting an A in physics.
This professor was really good. I woulda taken him for physics earlier if I heard of him before.
Great professor! Responds back to emails quickly and nice in lectures. Explains everything very well! I am taking this class as a junior and... the other comments have no idea what's coming to them with engineering professors if they don't like Maidenberg. Honestly one of the best. Thank you Prof!
If you took and passed AP Chem, this will be the easiest A of your life. I haven't gone to class in weeks and I have an A. Dr. Maidenberg is excellent. His YouTube videos are very helpful for brushing up.
A very caring professor. He cares about what he teaches even though the concepts won't be easy to understand at first. Be prepared for lots of homework. Easily the best chemistry teacher at Embry-Riddle right now.
He was by far the best professor I had this semester and made chem, Which I struggled with in high school, extremely easy. Homeworks can be long and annoying but you can redo them as many times as you want. There's also a retake to every test but the test are so similar to the hw that they werent even a proble.
Maidenberg is an icon! Chem is hard, but he's taught it better than anyone else I've ever had or seen. His lectures are funny and engaging, and I've learned a lot from them. If you need to take chem, take this man's class!
Professor Maidenberg was great to be around. His lectures, while not mandatory, gave wonderful insight and extra details to his online lessons. He responded to every email and question in a timely manner and made sure important announcements and cancellations were known to all. Very caring and hilarious, I would recommend him to any and everybody.
Professor Maidenberg is by far one of the best Chem 110 Instructors here. His lectures are always clear and even if you have a question about something go to his office hours and he will be happy to help you. As long as you pay attention in class and study you will do just fine.
Professor Maidenberg is a great chemistry professor. While his lectures are not mandatory, it is recommended you attend them, as they give further context to his videos. He responds to emails and questions in a timely manner and has an upbeat attitude. Couldn't have asked for a better professor!
I loved Maidenberg so much. He's funny and really easy to approach and made my first year experience so much better I wish I could take him for more courses! Let him teach engineering!!!!!!
Please give this man a promotion. The most caring, direct professor I've had the pleasure of knowing. He cares if you care. Even if you don't, he will help you get the easiest A of your college career.
The youtube videos professor maidenberg has uploaded online that cover the material in our books taught me the majority of my current understanding. His attitude and energy while instructing class, response to student inquiries, and genuine care to teaching his students was largely noticed and appreciated by me. THANK YOU MAIDENBERG
Professor M. is an awesome teacher for Chemistry and I am so glad I had him this semester. He teaches with enthusiasm and energy and does not make you feel stupid for asking questions!
Maidenberg is phenomenal. He always showed understanding in the material and ensure we shared in that understanding before moving on to the next material. He also provided plenty of examples and situations in which what we were learning mattered in the real world. Give him a raise.
Prof. Maidenberg took special care in making sure he gave us sample problems demonstrating the use of a concept that we just learned. He would walk us through all the steps to complete said problems and make sure we understood how to do them
Whenever I needed help, Dr. Maidenberg would respond to my emails within minutes, even on weekends. He provided the help that I needed and allowed me to do well on all of my homework assignments. He also had videos on canvas that further explained a topic, so if you were stuck, you could always go back and watch them.
Professor Maidenberg was extremely engaging. He made it easy by giving steps for almost every single problem. If there were any questions, he explained them in a helpful, and respectful manner. He is by far one of my favorite professors, he treats all students as equals and actually cares that we are learning the materials of the course.
Professor Maidenberg is a true legend. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students. His lectures were very easy to follow and made chemistry simple. Just make sure to take good notes, otherwise, the homework will not make any sense. He gives back partial credit, answers emails fast, and was my absolute favorite professor last semester.
great lectures, always wants to help you out.
He explained majority of what you have to do for the homework assignments. If you go to class he will basically walk through the test problems the day before, but his attendance isn't mandatory and posts videos of all his lectures.
Professor Maidenberg was really helpful during office hours and even scheduled office hours with me during the weekends. He also helped me with calculus, which was awesome.
He gives good lectures and provides videos for each topic to review if you missed anything. Chapter quizzes are only one question and he gives extra credit on exams. But, homework is long dont procrastinate.
homeworks are long but i've always been able to get him to help. All the exams have second chances which is baller.
maidenberg is a really nice guy and his lectures are great. I def recommend taking him for chem. Just be aware that his homeworks are kinda long but you can revise them at least.
he is really really good. You can skip lectures and view his videos on his Youtube channel and you;ll be quite caught up
Amazing professor that made chemistry bearable. He is kind and readily available outside of class. There was homework due every week but you get unlimited attempts at it so securing a good grade on them is a guarantee if you really want it. Can't recommend him enough, It was a pleasure to take his class!
The best professor on campus hand down. I wish he could teach all my classes. As long as you listen in class, you'll enjoy him. Go to office hours, and he even gives back credit on hw sometimes.
He was a great professor. Very accessible outside of class, and he had really great lectures. All of my friends were talking about how hard chemistry was but he made it super easy. I wish I could take him for thermo next semester.
He lectures well and is very thoughtful.
One of the best professors! Very lenient and caring, will help you outside of class. Dr. Maidenberg has videos on every topic discussed in class, which comes in handy whether you want to take the class "online" or do some studying before a quiz or a test. Also, he teaches the class from an engineering perspective, unlike other professors.
Maidenberg does a great job at teaching and he really listens to his students. He is very respectful and really does care about his students' success.
One of my favorite teachers ever. Maidenburg is a great teacher. If youre an engineering major, take this class as he gears it towards the field of engineering rather than as a chemist. As long as you do the assignments, youll be more than fine.
Prof. Maidenberg made learning the course very easy. He taught the exact formula's and steps that were needed to complete the homeworks and exams. Homework and exams were take home and graded online. Easy to get a good grade if you paid attention in class and used the textbook.
A great professor that makes chem interesting and easy through his detailed lectures and enthusiasm. All the exams and hws are online and the latter also have multiple attempts, which gives you the chance to get a high grade. Has multiple resources available like his youtube videos. He also teaches through an engineering perspective unlike others.
Literally the best Chem teacher.
Maidenberg is genuinely an awesome professor. I was a little concerned for how I would do (I hate chem) but the way he presented the topics in class made them very easy to understand, as well as having prerecorded videos of his lectures on youtube. I would definitely still attend class, he does a great job answering questions.
Maidenberg is the most underrated professors on this campus. I plan on taking him for all the classes he ever teaches because he actually tries to teach you and get you to understand.
If you ever get the option of having Professor Maidenberg as a teacher do it. He's the best professor to have because he's good at teaching students every topic and is also willing to work and help a student in whatever way he can. He is very understanding and not a harsh grader. He does not waste your time and always gets straight to the point!
Absolute Stud! Made Chemistry the easiest class ever and was very lenient on test corrections. If you have the opportunity to take him for a class, DO IT!!!
Honestly just chill and easy to work with. Doesnt require attendance and his lectures are great. If you do the homework, the quizzes are super easy.
Maidenberg is honestly the best proffesor on this campus. His lectures are super easy to understand, even the more difficult ones. If you do the homeworks, then the exams are a copy/paste of the homeworks. Highly recommend taking him if you can
He is the best professor ever. His lectures are interesting and engaging. His online videos are really good references. All of the tests were open note, open book, open internet. Such an easy class that is also really well understood.
A tremendous teacher & professor who cares deeply about the education of his students. He always responds to emails, gives an A+ on homeworks to anyone whoever gets an 80%+ or above and submits corrections, and if you have an A+ in the class in the remaining 2 weeks, he will exempt you from the final quiz, final test, AND the final exam.
Maidenberg is a wonderful professor. His lectures teach the material very well, but the exams and quizzes are open internet anyway.
Professor Maidenberg is the BEST chemistry professor! He has YouTube videos for every topic in each chapter. It helps to watch the videos but they aren't super necessary because he goes over everything in class. GO TO CLASS! Although attendance isn't mandatory, it is very helpful to go to class. He goes over examples that are on the homework.
Have been trying to find problems with Mr. Maidenberg since the end of class, have been having the hardest time lol. If its not included in class, students are more than able to meet with him in his office or watch the countless amounts of videos that he has posted. Stellar teacher and a great one to in your first semester at Riddle.
I had Maidenberg for gen chem and thermo. Absolute godsend of a professor. Lectures are clear and filled with useful info. Exams are graded fairly, and he is extremely compassionate and helpful. If you don't do well he is willing to work with you. Exams are open notes. By far the best professor I've had at Riddle, I Cannot recommend him enough.
Best professor I've had by far. Teaching is clear and useful. Breaks down chem into understandable terms. Doesn't mince around with pretentious or incomprehensible lecturing or information from the textbook - he has his own lectures. Exams are easy to prepare for, quizzes are VERY easy. Grading is very lenient and will work with you to improve.
Great teacher, his lectures are very easy to follow, and he brings positive energy to every class he lectures. He responds very fast with his emails and is very lenient with HW and partial credit. Highly recommend this teacher for CHM
Everyone knows thermo is the hardest course at Riddle and I had a hard time in Maidenberg's class but even still, the man is a legend and he tried to help me out and pointed me in the right direction. We went over many questions in his office. Do yourself a favor and take this guy for thermo!
The G.O.A.T. Madienberg's chem class is great. Just go to class, do the homework and understand how to do it and you will get an A.
Dr. Maidenberg is one of the funniest professors at Riddle. He teaches the class from an engineers perspective. If you have a understanding of chemistry he takes a few shortcuts that may confuse you. Everything is open note, book, internet, etc. including exams. You don't have to take final if you have at least 95% in the class, so study hard!
Maidneberg is one of the best chemistry professors at Riddle. His class is not hard at all as long as you ask questions and do the homework. It's an easy A for little effort.
I really liked Dr. Maidenberg and it is clear that he loves thermodynamics and it definitely rubbed off on me. I really recommend taking him for this class.
Amazing professor who makes concepts easy to understand. Lectures are very good.
Homework was difficult but fair. He does a good job of adjusting his curriculum to the needs of his students.
Professor Maidenberg is THE professor you want for CHM 110; I plan to take him for every other course he teaches.
He was an excellent professor in CHM 110 and still is for ES 305. He is passionate about what he teaches and conveys complex material in an in-depth, straightforward, and fun way. Also, he is so caring to the students that he adjusts the course structure to students' needs, which helped most of us get through the course.
Dr. Maidenberg is a great professor, although he can be a little scatterbrained during his lectures. He is fantastic at explaining things and very easygoing in general. I can't recommend him enough and I intend to take him for future classes.
If you're an engineering major wanting to pass this class, Prof. Maidenberg is the professor you want. The topics can be tricky, but he explains them well in class, gives partial credit on exams, and allows students with As to exempt the final. Memorizing each method for each problem sucks, but everything is open GOOGLE so remember to work smarter.
Professor Maidenberg shows a love of the subject he teaches. He is very forgiving, he'll take feedback on errors he may have made with his homework, and he will amend grades from any mistake that may have occurred if you just write a short email. He is very apt to bump up grades slightly, especially if you have shown that you put in the effort
hard to include it all. ES305 is a mess and Maidenburg did a bang up job teaching it. It's obvious that he loves thermodynamics but there's too much material in that class and not enough time. I was living at his office and he helped me ton. Highly recommend for thermo
I had the hardest time in physics 1 and so far I completely understand everything
Dr. Maidenberg was a great professor, he always tries to give students the most points earned as possible and has a super lenient grading policy. he hides no tricks on any of his assignments, quizzes, or tests. He really just wants to see you succeed.
Easy to get an A and not have to take the final of you do practice exams.
Professor Maidenberg was absolutely amazing. His lectures were great and explained problems really well. If a question was asked we would answer it really well and would make sure that everyone understands. Highly recommend taking him.
He is an amazing guy who cares about his students and is willing to help anyone who stays and asks or sends him an email.
Maidenberg is the goat. Best choice for physics and also helps with thermo homework
we had a candidate come to class today and he asked a student to solve a question on the board and the student couldn't finish. After the candidate left Maidenberg went to the student and comforted him and told him he was 90% of the way there. It was truly amazing to see such a caring person! I couldn't recommend a better person for any class
Maidenberg is the absolute best professor for pretty much any class he teaches. He cares so much about his students and fights to advocate for them. You can clearly see how passionate he is about all of the material he teaches, and it's honestly very impressive and inspiring. The classes he teaches can be incredibly difficult, but he does amazing
Great lectures, extremely caring, extremely helpful during office hours
Great professor who cares about his students and makes an effort to help everyone he can. Highly recommend.
He is a really good teacher, and he explains chemistry in a way anyone can understand. I got a C in chemistry in high school but got an A in this class.
Not a lot of good professors out there. Professor Maidenberg really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. I always felt good asking questions in class (a lot of professors get annoyed if you ask questions)
You should take this professor for anything he teaches because he takes the time and explains things slowly when you need to. He'll even try to explain in different ways when you don't get it. I am not a physics person but he made this course easy to digest. He's also really nice.
Despite me being absolutely terrible, I was able to gather a basic understanding of chemistry and learn from the lectures. He also prepared us very well for the final, which you only have to take if you have below a certain grade in the class. He gives partial credit and points back for work shown.
Super chill, easy to talk to, and funny. Honestly wish I could take his class again. Stay on top of your homework as always.
LEGEND. This guy really really goes all out to explain the concepts. He is entertaining and unlike other profs hes good looking and very toned. A must
Dr. Maidenberg was hands down the best chem professor out of all available freshman year. He was funny and took his time explaining things. On exams he would give you partial credit on any questions you got wrong if you would just turn your work in to him and I don't even think he would check those. Great professor.
I really want to thank Professor Maidenberg as he has been the most caring person I met at Riddle. He went out of his way to help when I didn't understand stuff and I still stop by his office to hang out. Stud.
His videos and explanations were really good. Thermo was great with him even though it's a gatekeeper class he kept it like a regular course and I felt that he explained it slowly enough for it to sink in. Also, he's helped me tons with classes after thermo.
Dr. Maidenberg is really quick to respond to emails and to answer questions in an understandable way. He usually responds within minutes even if it's like 8pm on a Sunday.
He has all of the lectures posted online on his Youtube channel already. If you don't pay attention at all, you will fail. However, CHM 110 is a survey course and is relatively easy already.
I had a very positive experience with Prof. Maidenberg. He is a great teacher and a very nice person. He is always willing to help his students understand the material and clarify any doubts. He gives helpful feedback on the exams. He is very responsive to emails and answers them promptly. I appreciate his dedication and professionalism.
Professor Maidenberg was a joy to be my CHM110 professor. He was kind in class and quite generous in the way he grades tests. You can earn extra credit by optional homework assignments and by getting a certain grade on the final. If you have above 95, you can opt out the final. I had a 90 and getting a good final exam grade gave me a 96 overall!
The course is a test-heavy but he reviews and gives various examples to make you succeed. You can earn extra credit by optional homework assignments and by getting a certain grade on the final. He lectures on what is required to know and recommends what you need in your cheat sheet for the test. With him you will succeed in CHM, he knows about it.
I did horrible in physics 1 but I got an A on my first test in this class. Maidenberg must down 3 redbulls before class because he explains the material with lots of energy and jokes.
he is dedicated! will send out full solutions to problems all typed up by email and he responds so quickly I think he lives with his computer in front of him. He's also very funny in class and you learn the material pretty good
STUD! Physics made sense with him for the first time in my life. He also gave us queen song recommendations every day
Hated physics, loved Professor Maidenberg. He is very lenient with homework corrections and the tests were open note. God bless him for that, because this class would have been a really rough one otherwise. The Queen recommendations were fantastic. 10/10 would take again.
professor Maidenberg is the single greatest professor I've ever had in my 3 years at Embry Riddle. incredibly knowledgeable, ALWAYS willing to explain something differently so you understand the concept, and is very understanding when it comes to partial credit. You won't be disappointed. if you fail his class, it is 100% your fault.
Just average class learning wise. Not the best. Hope that there would be more office hrs.
Absolutely amazing professor. Possibly the best one at Riddle. I went from hating chemistry to actually enjoying it. He also made it clear we would not need the textbook and that he would teach everything we would need and he did.
Amazing professor. Took him back in CHM 110, and he was still as amazing, if not more so. Keeps class engaged by not using PowerPoint, but keeping on task with his own notes, writing on the board. Very open to questions and has a very cheerful and chill atmosphere. Hands down one of, if not the best professors I've taken at ERAU.
I love this prof. He really knows his stuff I mean he comes up with all examples and notes on top of his head! He is also very nice so you can always talk to him and he'll help you with whatever
Great prof. very detailed oriented in his classes and does not just throw up a PowerPoint like everyone else. He will answer any questions you ask even if they are 'dumb' and will have full conversations with you on theoretical situations. Responds to emails very quickly. He also loves thermo and has his office hours open to any student.
Prof Maidenberg is an awesome CHM110 professor! He brings in a sense of humor and patience into every lecture and there is no such thing as a dumb question to him. He explains all of the material well and you genuinely enjoy being in his class. Looking forward to taking him again for PS160 next fall.
Take this class ASAP. He will NEVER make it more difficult than it should be. He makes amazing jokes and goes out of his way to thoroughly explain concepts. My favorite professor this semester.
Great professor, makes difficult chem concepts look easy sometimes. Exams can be difficult, but homework assignments boost your grade by a lot, as they are unlimited attempt multiple choice Canvas quizzes.
Professor Maidenberg is an exceptional instructor. I was very impressed with his ability to come up with practice problems on the spot. He cares deeply about making sure every student understands what he is saying and because of that his class is very easy to take notes for. Beware of tests its easy to fumble them and it will hurt your grade bad.
Professor Maidenberg makes CHM110 a breeze with his engaging lectures and helpful feedback. Leveraging resources like unstuckstudy alongside the course materials ensures success. Definitely a professor worth taking if you want to ace chemistry!
Average to blow average class. Focus more on getting praised but teaching is average. Like to make jokes though. Some of them are funny.
Prof. Maidenberg is a very funny guys who LOVES to lecture. It can be hard to keep up and class is often take notes and understand later. There are also very few things which control your grade, but his final policy is the best at the school and takes all the pressure off.
Donot know why is he praised that much. I found him below to average teacher. I am evaluating on what he actually taught but not how non serious he is in class and make jokes. I guess students like him as he goof around too much.
He doesn't like teaching physics he mentioned so many times. Very boating class write very fast does not explain. I will not take any course with him.
Dr. M is the best teacher I ever had. Really learned a lot from him. He gives lots of extra credit and make sure no body will fail no matter how weak you are in physics.
Absolutely amazing professor. Possibly the best one at Riddle. I went from hating chemistry to actually enjoying it. He also made it clear we would not need the textbook and that he would teach everything we would need and he did. Lots of extra points.
A literal saint
Professor Maidenberg was an amazing professor. I took him back in the Fall of 2024. He always made sure his classes were following despite chemistry being a lecture-style course. He even helped us prepare for our Chem Lab practical in one of our class periods, giving us tips and encouraging us. He is very understanding and overall a great guy.
