Amazing teacher. Very easy to pass if you attend class and complete your minutes in the writing center. She is willing to help you and is a very kind woman. She is also very flexible and will often let you redo assignments for a better grade. Highly recommended!

She is really nice, though sometimes she does push the work load a bit. Also she is always trying make it the easiest for you as possible, even when it doesn't come out that way.

This class was a lot of work but worth it. Honestly the most helpful teacher I have ever had. She requires class discussions and participation. The work load is a little heavy though. In the end I am glad I took this class.

Loved Mrs. Yanmei's class! I had a three hours Shakespeare class Wednesday and I actually looked forward to her class every week. Show up, participate and you'll get full points! She gets to know her students and will help you connect with people who have the same interests as you. Super helpful and inspiring woman. I recommend to take her class!

For a comp 1 class, it's a LOT of work. difficult readings. She's very kind and understanding. As long as u participate you'll do fine. She's pretty easy with grading as long as you follow the rubric. She's more concerned with what you have to say than your grammar and punctuation. I liked her but wouldn't take again due to the amount of HWwork

I took two classes with Yanmei and LOVED her! A lot of group discussions. If you're in her English classes, a lot of revising and editing papers from fellow classmates. She doesn't do final exams either. Very loving and supportive! Also one of the few teachers who knows all her students by names!

Yanmei was the best teacher I have ever had! She is so inspirational and is always there for you, no matter what. She makes you think critically and examine different angles in all the texts you read. However, be prepared to work hard. She does give out a lot of homework, more than any other teacher I have had at Century. There's a lot of reading!

At first, she's kind of hard to understand and connect with but stick with the class and soon, everything will make sense. Took both COMP1 & 2 with her. She really wants her students to read and think, open your mind! I wouldn't say a lot of reading or homework but enough to keep you busy. Lots of revising. Great teacher overall, very nice too!!!

Tough teacher but help you with everything , Get ready for a lot of homework. Final is easy because all we did was reflect on our semester. Make sure you visit her tutors that she has for you because they are a big help.

Toughest, kindest, and most dedicated teacher ever! She pushes you to do your best and work with you alllllllll the time! She lets you revise and make up things! My friend at the U is impressed by what I did in her class. Her class is far harder than my friends at the U! Learned so much and very proud of myself!

She is really down to earth and easy to talk to. The class is a lot more fun. She expects a lot out of people, but also knows how much to expect from certain people. She really cares about her students.

Yanmei expects a lot out of her students. Even though she gives a lot of work and is hard on you sometimes, she is an amazing professor. Staying in touch with her is key. If she has a free period after class, STAY! After class was over was when we had the most fun. Its awesome time for open feedback and chats about anything that's on your mind.

Don't take her If you just want a good grade! You will be so miserable! Take her if you wan to learn! Her comp 1 is much tougher than a lot of comp 2!

I basically learned how to write from her in the children's lit class. She has high expectations for writing. If you want to learn, you can really get a lot out of her class. Very flexible with some due dates when you have things come up. Her project was very interesting and it helped me figure out my career path.

She focuses more on the content than the grammar, which is really nice. A lot of discussions in class about the reading and your essay, but make sure to have it done before class, she uses it as points towards your attendance. Go to her or her tutors. They're all super nice and helpful. She'll give you more time on your papers if you go to them.

Miss Yanmei is the best professor I've had, period. Her class is very hard, and very fun, but you will learn real skills in it. She is supportive, enthusiastic and gives constructive feedback. And if you want to give her class your all, she'll keep giving you opportunities for every bit of effort you put in. You can tell she loves her job.

Really enjoyed English 1021, she is what got me interested in writing. If you're looking for a professor who is both challenging and motivating, she is great. I will say that effort does play a large part in her grading process, so if you want an A you really need to work for it.

This is the class to learn how to write all of your academic papers at college. Therefore, "4 hours in class and 8-12 hours for homework every week" is so accurate. Although you need to spend a lot of time, Yanmei has a whole supporting team formed by great tutors. You should work with them often to pass. NEVER PUT OFF HOMEWORK.

Professor Yanmei is really great. She cares for all of her students, and I can easily reach her out anytime for questions. After taking her class, I know how to write in an academic way. That is really helpful for my other future classes. Especially, she has so many great tutors who are always willing to help their tutees.

Very nice teacher and very flexible for an online class, there is a bit of busy work but is very easy. As long as you do most of your work and stay on track you will complete this class. lets you turn in essays then she comments on them then you get to turn them in again for full credit. nice teacher would talk again :D

She truly cares about her students, and she pushed me to do so many things. She replied to my email on Thanksgiving Day and had a zoom meeting with me the next day. I never thought myself as a writer, but I' m finishing comp one with a big research paper with footnotes!

Pretty clear grading rubrics, assignments, and content. Lots of reading/responding assignments. Reach out to the professor and she'll be glad to help you understand them, and especially help you with your bigger papers. Overall, reliable and friendly.

I took comp one and two with her. She was so patient with me when I got nervous. She went through one essay at least four times with me! I had a lot of issues outside of school in comp two, and she told me to come back to finish when I got better. A couple of semesters later, I got it done!!! So proud of myself! I absolutely loved her. she was the best teacher and she is extremely caring and considerate of others. She's super understanding and always willing to help you and has amazing tutors. About 1-3 quizzes a week on a book. It is self-paced as well which Is extremely helpful.

I took her online only class for ENGL 950/ENGL 1020. She's understanding/caring. ENGL950 required meeting weekly basis and discussion work. The class that has homework and quizzes was ENGL1020 -w/ 4 main papers to write - evenly spread out throughout the course. She gives a great amount of work but you will learn a lot and be a writer afterwards.

She was very nice and personal. She genuinely cares about you as a person and your progress with this class. That being said she is a pretty tough grader but will help you when you ask for it.

Class was connected to a study abroad trip to Japan. Extremely patient and hands on! Generous with her time too.

I felt overwhelmed at times with the amount of quizzes and papers I had to write but she made sure to have a call with me once a week and gave me very good feedback. The book was free to access and was interactive. Also the inQuizitive quizzes were by far the best. She overall cares much for her students and is an excellent grader!

This was a challenging class for me. I learned a lot in this class. I had a tutor the entire time because of how much I struggled with my writing. Yanmei is very accommodating and if you want to get an A in this class you will. She allows you to go back and correct and resubmit work so that you can get full points.

Professor Jiang is one of the sweetest and kindest professors I have ever met. I just started living in the US and am only used to very strict European guidelines but Professor Jiang herself is not a first generation American and made me feel very welcome, understood and was very helpful. She made sure to make time to help me improve!

Professor Jiang is amazing! She gives out a lot of homework, about a couple of essays, and a research paper for you to write, but she provides help from herself and tutors. She is a fairly easy grader and genuinely cares for all her students. I recommend taking her class!
