Very good teacher, but gives alot of homework.
She is a great teacher. I had her from my Intro to Edu and she was awesome. She is very laid back and very understanding. I really like her alot. She is funny and very sweet.
Dr. Qadri is awesome! I had her for my Diversity Edu. class. She is fun, enjoys her subject. She does give you a lot of outside assignments, but they are not too bad. KEY: PARTICIPATE in class. she will be very lienent on you
Multicultural Ed. - She's really cool. She does give a lot of assignments, but they're pretty easy and she's very lenient and understanding.Cool class too.
Seems to have no idea how to teach. Pretty easy but very unclear about due dates and expectations. Not very fun or exciting. I got an A.
She is an amazing teacher! Alot of projects, but enjoyable ones! She is very sweet and helpful. Class is a definate A with her just stay on top of projects.
She gave a lot of homework/project and she was never clear as to what need to be done when.
Intro to Education-Dr. Qadri is one of the sweetest teachers I've had. She cares, but sometimes is not be clear as to what she wants you to do. You will have to ask a lot of questions, but that's okay. I would recommend her.
Ms. Qadri is a nice person. However I feel that the content of the course and the assignments given were not clear. The class is slow moving. If you need a teacher to keep your attention I recommend that you do not take this teacher.
Sh'e a very nice person but she's not clear. If you want to get an A just do all the projects even if they are not well done. Sh'e fairly easy. I got an A in that class and I thought I wasn't doing good.
There is alot of work in her class, but if you pay attention to her the work is very easy. There are several project that at first seem very difficult and you may feel overwhelmed. However, the projects are fun and so long as you put some effort into t
Class is very slow moving, and easy to get her off topic. Attendance is important, not very clear about work! Very easy grader! Class is very interesting, lots of debating!
Not clear at all on the assignments that are in the syllabus. She is a nice lady but not clear! I wouldn't recommend her.
I took her for the 5 sat. class for intro to Ed. Advice: Keep on top of Projects as they seem to creep up on you when you don't expect! I like her and would recommend the class. Oh, you have to do 15 hours of observation, so keep that in mind!
If you like being confused take this class. There are alot of assignments and she doesn't explain what they are. She changes her syllabus a thousand times before the end of the semester and the grades she gives don't really matter.
I liked her. She is nice, very respectful, and very knowledgeable. Don't forget about 15 hours of observation (it creeps up on ya!) 5 Sat class: Fun, Long hours, but worth the time invested for the credit(s).
This is a great class. She's very nice and is always willing to help. I'd take her again for other classes too.
Very nice lady. soft spoken and cares for her students and wants them to succeed. not very clear on assignments and kind of boring.
Easy teacher- just do the work and you will pass, turning in anything will get you an A. Very laid back- hard to understand assignments, NOT 1 test! Easy! Got an A
this is my secong class with her.. she is very nice and i like her classes only sometimes she need to give more detail but oh well just ask her she will clear it up for you
Easy class if you do all the assignments. Not clear on what she wants but if you ask, she'll help you. Really does care about her students. I'd take her again.
Great teacher, really gets to know the students, I am going to take her again for my next teaching class. I'm really glad I got to have the experience with Dr. Qadri!
Dr.Qadri really loves her students and her job. She makes it a point to get to know everyone on a personal level. Sometimes she is not very clear on things but if you are not sure, ask her and she is always willing to clarify. She is very passionate about her job and takes it seriously.
Very nice lady, easy class just do all the assignments, portfolio & hours. easy A OR B
this is one of the nicest professors i have ever had, whoever says something bad about her does not know what they are talking about : )
Dr.Qadri was an awesome teacher. She absolutely enjoys what she does. It was a good exp being in her class. You really do learn alot from her. Dr. Q was sometimes alittle difficult to understand but dont worry just ask for help shes always willing to help everyone out. the portfolio was easy too.
I love this professor, she loves what she does, and is easy to foloow and understand. she is also extremely helpful and interesting. I highly reccomend that all Education majors take her two classes she teaches. You won't regret it!
excellent excellent teacher. I wish i could take more classes with her. I definately reccomend her, she is the sweetest person ever!!!
she got her favorites! definitely, she plays mind games! Careful with that too good thing!
very nice teacher yet very unorganized, NEver explains assignments, and u just never know what do with anything. I would suggest taking her if want a easy class with easy grading but if u want assignments expectations explained dont expect it from her.
This professor got multiple personality or what, Man! One day she treats you like a her own kid next day you're like a stranger. alright prof. w/ confused personality. Be on alert!
Dr. Qadri is one of the worst professors at Valencia. She makes many oral changes to the syllabus and expects you to be responsible for the material. She's disorganized, leaving the class unclear of her expectations. Towards the end of the session, everyone in the class was confused. I'm an A student
Qadri is the type of professor that you need to truly listen to what she is saying and how because many times it is hard to understand her. All of her assignments are pretty easy but the course itself contains a lot of work.
Dr. Qadri is a nice person, but a horrible professor. She does not responsibility for her mistakes. She does not clearly explain assignments and gets upset because students do not understand. I am a very good student so I went to her office for clarification on some assignments and I left confused. She is not helpful. Stay away!
this class is pretty easy. some assignments are annoying and overstress culture but its still informative. the teacher is fun, understanding, and sometimes funny. the class is a good experience overall.
This professor needs to be fired. Teachers like her is what makes the Florida school system bad. She cannot teach she very confused, she does not know what she's doing. The assisgnments she gives teaches you nothing about teaching or diversity. Do not take her class.
without a doubt the WORST teacher ive ever had in my life!!! shes a nice lady, but shouldnt be teaching. i learned nothing in her class and feel like she should be paying me to take her class. makes an eady A class into a streeful mess :( !!!
People who talk good about her are either confused like her or favorites of hers. If taking her class be very attentive cuz' she tends to change things here and there and doesn't take the blame on herself but makes students feel it.
she is great! i got an a
Dr. Qadri is very helpful. As a future eduactor, I highly recommend her. She will make an excellent mentor for most future teachers. If you are not lazy and keep up with her sylabus, homework, and portfolio, you'll do fine. Test are short essays based on homework assignments. She is always available and willing to help her students.
the teacher was good...you ohave to ask her a couple times what was due and when because she she said something different evreytime she talked. she is easy and will grade fairly, just do the work and youll pass
not clear on anything she says. you have to ask her when things are due. but follow the syllabus and you'd be ok.
Horrible teacher. He assignments are useless and don't really teach anything. She honestly thinks that you only take one class and thats hers. I know this by the amount of pointless work she gives. She's unclear, Unfair. I was doing fine in this class until I decided I shouldn't be in a class where I learn absolutely nothing. Bring a pillow.
Dr. Qadri was not the best teacher I have ever had. She is very unclear in what is wants out of her students. She gets mad when you ask her questions about WebCT6. Every week you have a quiz which is fine, but, they are only open on the computer and you can only do them on the weekend. She made lots of people in my class not want to become teachers
very difficult to figure out what the heck she is talking about..she was not easy at all and I almost want to change majors because of her!!!!!!!! Do NOT take her, she will make you go nuts!
I would NOT recommend taking her online class!! I sent her numerous e-mails throughout the semester with no response and no help whatsoever! She just expects you to know and figure things out on your own and provides very little guidelines to follow. NOT a good experience!!
Dr. Qadri is soooo vauge! No one ever has any clue what she assigns. So so bad! Her classes were a waste of my valued time. DoN't TaKe HeR!
I took her class online, the work was easy but she was not. You would email her and it would take a week for her to respond. There was a bunch of glitches on WebCt which she didn't want to fix so it ruined my grade. She was very unreliable and unhelpful! I would recommend taking a different teacher, that class was too much of a headache for me.
Dr. Qadri is very nice, complete your assingments and she will give you a good grade. I had plenty of days where I couldn't come to class because I missed the bus and she let me make up all my work. Come to class prepared and you get a decent grade!!
Dr. Qadri was a very helpful and always understanding. She does want her students to do their best in her class, but it does mean that you have to do work. I loved her as a teacher and she really challenged my views on multicultural education.

Don't take her!!!.. She is not clear and also has her days..(mood swings)...
She is a very nice teacher and willing to help. The tests are not too easy but if you study and do the extra credit, you will be fine. She doesn't want her students to fail and she really cares. I liked her a lot and she helped make the class a bit more interesting.
she's very nice but extremly vague in her directions for assignments.
She is an amazing professor and is always willing to go an extra mile to help her students. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to taking more classes with her in the future.
take the online class if anything....the onsite class is useless n she doesnt explain ANYTHING! the class isnt even worth showing up for cus all her assignments are online n she will not tell u when they are due EVER..u have to know for urself by constantly checking webCT...
I thought this class was a waste of time, because every assignment almost was done online. She's very unclear and sometimes impossible to understand. I think that she was a nice person but I definately didn't enjoy her class/having to hear so much about her culture. It would have been nice to learn about other cultures. She picks favorites too!
I took her class online. She's nice, but things aren't organized (due dates), so you can't depend on the pop-up reminders on WebCT. Doesn't respond to emails immediately, when she responds she responds to the entire class. Final is 5 essay questions. 2 Chapts of reading each week with discussions. It was an ok class, I passed with a B.
She is the WORST prof I've ever had! Everything is online, yet you are required to come to class. She is very hard to understand and constantly presses her religion on you. The assignments were unclear and never due when she said they were. Don't waste your money or your time, take this at West campus with Prof. Mary Ann Kinser...it's worth it!
Prof. Quadri is kind and understanding. She really does want her students to all pass with an A in her class. But her instructions are not always clear and she is constantly changing due dates and assignment requirements. Put a lot of work into your portfolio and study before you take her tests (which are all online) and you will do fine!
Dr. Qadri is very professional and encourages students to go to activities outside of class but will count for class attendance that day. She's nice, grades your work on time- but the tests are a little hard. Turn in ALL your work and there's no reason to not get an A
I've taken Dr. Qadri for 2 classes and find her very helpful, insightful and interesting. She has high expectations of her students because she is so passionate about teaching. She uses many effective teaching strategies in her classroom. Follow her rubrics, read the text and participate in class and you'll be fine.
Dr. Qadri is an a wonderfully kind and caring person. She really will go the extra mile for her students. Everything for the class is laid out on WebCT and it is very easy to keep up. Dr. Qadri has a lot of insight into the field of education. If you do what is required(reading, assignments, discussions, and tests) you will easily get an A!
THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE. EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT LABELED AS ONE. All exams are online, chapter discussions are online. homework assignments are online. Must read EVERY chapter of text. Class time is a waste of time, She is not very clear on what she wants, exams are hard, Get Observations hours done a month before your porfolio is due reflections tak
read read read and you will pass
Qadri is a very nice lady. She makes the class partcipate through class disscussions. Her class though is mostly made up on Webct, turn in work, tests, and disscussions. READ THE CHPTS!!! tests are extremely hard. sometimes she is confusing but she tries to help her students. Overall an O.K. class.
I took Dr. Qadri for an online class. She is organized with her dates, however she puts different items in different tabs. She emailed back quickly if you had any questions but her office time to see you was very limited. Her tests are harder than any other online class I have taken. If you want an easy A, do not take her!
Dr. Quadri is a great Professor. She has an abundant amount of knowledge pertaining to education and the diversity issues in education today. Although, she is a bit disorganized with the classwork one can learn a lot if they choose to follow the assignments and stay on top of the reading!!!
Great class. Easy one if you follow the format and dates. Like someone said, Prof. Qadri is a nice and lovely lady; she is very understanding. Easy grading. Easy class to learn and get an A if you keep on top with the work.
She expects a lot.
I am surprised that even some students had a positive experience! I have never had a problem with a teacher at Valencia, and was extremely disappointed that the Education department would hire her.she is EXTREMELY biased to the Muslim culture and forces her culture onto the students. FORCES you to attend a muslim school as part of 15 hr fieldwork.
She does have TONS of experience in the education field, which is why her lack of actual teaching is apalling. I understand that we are in college, however, especially since this is an EDUCATION course, I expect the professor to do some TEACHING. Instead, she requires so much independent work... and is NOT an easy grader at all. DO NOT RECCOMEND
This professor enjoys teaching and showing that you should do more then just become an average educator. As long as you do all the work by the due date it is very easy. There are many projects but she gives you a rubric and if you follow it you are guarenteed an A. Go to class and do the homework on time, and never miss a group presenting.
Dr. Qadri is a sweet lady. She has very high expectations for her students. I understand that she is Muslim, and respect her for it, however, I am SO TIRED of reading about Muslims when it is NOT related to the chapter we are working on! Our schools are more diverse than THIS! Please teach about other relevant minorities!
She is the best!. Do a Porfolio, for observation hours (15) She will help you schedulle with the Schools, Responds fast to your emails.Discussions are easy.Always there for you to give you an advice. She cares to much about students.Take her class you will enjoy it! 30 years of experience what else can you asked for?.
Professor Qadri, has been a life saver for me. If it weren't for her I may have dropped all my classes for personal reasons. She is such a understanding lady. Her class is not hard if you study what she tells you. Awesome Teacher!
This Professor is a really nice lady. I took her for online Intro to teaching she was NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. She never or rarely replied to emails, she continued to change the syllabus without telling the students and her tests are HARD you have to read EVERY CHAPTER in the book. If you can not focus your life around this class I dont reccomend it.
Didn't reply to emails, or calls. When my project did not upload in the submission folder, I had to email it to her. When she emailed me back, she was being immature and told me that I not only did it wrong, but I put it in the wrong folder. She said that the seminar would count for all ethnic hours, but retracted that and said it only counted for
She is a horrible teacher, would never respond to emails. If she did, she would be very immature about it and not take any blame for it. Especially when it came to her syllabus, she blamed us for not reading it properly when she changed it and did not clearly notify anyone.
Took this class online, nice lady, but wouldn?t return e-mails for about a week.Required over a hundred pages of reading a week, tests were very HARD.Discussions are an easy grade, projects were okay, but she would mark down points for things not mentioned in rubric. This class requires a lot of time. Constantly made changes to assignments& Syllabus
Well see she is a sweet lady I will admit to this. But her tests and class is harsh, her grading scale is mean. Like seriously. I passed with a C barely! HEr work was so over the top demanding, then there was so much problem with uploading the things. I had to constantly go to her office for an online class.
This Professor was not very helpful. While her students are trying to get in contact with her via e-mail or phone she is busy attending conferences. We all have a life but students can't ever have an excuse for a late paper!
THIS IS A HYBRID CLASS. Tests, assignments, and discussions are online, but you must attend class or you will be dropped. She is very unclear and does not take late work. The inclass assignments did not recieve a grade, don't bother. There is no other teacher for this course onsite, you might be better off taking it online with another teacher.
Do Not take this class. Teacher is unprepared, biased, clearly interested in herself and her education not yours. Poor example of a teacher. Keep copies of all communication. If this was my only education class I would NOT want to become a teacher.
I had registered in Dr Qadri's Education class but was not sure if I really wanted to become a teacher. With her interactive teaching, she has inspired me to make my decision to be a teacher. I would highly recommend her classes! Her passion for teaching is very commendable. She is always there to help her students & is very kind and understanding
I had Dr Qadri for Diversity and found her to be very understanding, kind and open-minded. She's the best professor I've ever had. She is very helpful. I learned a lot from her vast knowledge about the diversity that surrounds us. She is very experienced and shares her experiences with the class, which I find quite interesting. I def recommend her!
She's an amazing teacher!!!!! She has alot of funny stories to tell which makes the class interesting. Shes very kind and understanding. As with any class, you have to do the work to pass with the grade of your choice.
Her syllabus is 15 pages long, the textbook required (and you read the whole book)isn't sold at Valencia so you have to buy it on Amazon, she doesn't give retakes for any of her weekly tests, she always messes up the days so check every single day including weekends) in your messages and always check My Grades bc sometimes she won't grade your work
She is hard to understand and only gives you one try and al lher tests are timed a question a minute and even if it is an online class you better check it every single day because she changes things last second all the time.
Prof. Qadri is an amazing professor! I've learned so much from her this semester. She's very helpful, as long as you take the initiative to ask for help. The course is based on a lot of discussion and readings, but it truly prepares us for our future in the field of teaching. Would definitely recommend her!
Great Professor, she is so kind and helpful. uses the textbook alot and has many fun classroom activities. gives extra credit work and her test are easy and online as well as quizes. great teacher
Very helpful and a great teacher. She makes the class interesting with all the in-class activities. Not too hard, but you do need to do your part. What you put in to the class is what you get out of it!
She's okay.It takes her a long time to grade assignments. She forgets stuff and has to be reminded sometimes. She seems nice though.I took an online course with her.
Professor Qadri has a great personality. The class is a little dull during discussions, but if you take the time to do the work and read the text book, you do learn a lot. The only problem I had with the course is the lack of organization. The syllabus does not specify when certain assignments are due. Overall, it was a good class, though.
Registered for this class as an onsite class with a professor who scored really well on this website. For some reason our professor changed before classes began and we ended up with Professor Qadri. She is very nice, however she does have an accent and her instructions are not very clear at times. She teaches directly from the book.
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Qadri last fall. She is always eager to help her students. She teaches from a very diverse background, thus contributing to the interesting nature of her course. If you read and listen carefully, and follow directions, you'll do great! I am anxiously looking forward to taking more classes w/ Dr. Qadri SOON!
I was a little hesitant to take this Professor after reading the comments on here, but I am so glad I took Dr. Qadri's class. She is an awesome Professor. She has inspired me to be a better teacher as well. I love that her online class is well structured and she takes the time to even meet students in person!
I am a spanish speking student but dr. Qadri is so kind to go out of her way to help me. I advize you all to take her class. Colleges should have more teachers like dr. Qadri. She even give her cell nombr to ask help anytime.
Professor Qadri has been the worst professor I've had. Her online class is very confusing at times and when you email her for help, it takes forever for her to respond. When she does eventually respond, she makes you feel like an idiot for asking a question in the first place. Very unprofessional, esp. when instructing a course for future teachers.
DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN HELP IT! I've heard she is easy online but she makes it impossible to deal with this class. The work isn't hard but she is very unorganized and everything is online, but you still have to go to class. She's not understanding with family emergencies either. I passed but it was stressful.
Really easy class, but a lot of projects and work. She isn't very clear with instructions or what she expects, but sometimes gives second chances. Her Blackboard set up was all wrong for my class and that was frustrated. She was serious about attendance and we read the ENTIRE book, with weekly discussion postings.
I took this class online and my final grade is 100%. Dr. Qadri is very nice and willing to help. You do have to use your book a lot but its just for discussions. Her projects are pretty easy and I enjoyed this class. I would recommend you take her online and just follow the syllabus and you should be fine. No quizzes or test. Just do the work.
GREAT ONLINE CLASS!!! the projects for this teaching class were challenging and fun. The beginning was a little frazzled because her old course work for a different class was showing up, It was correct promptly. highly recommend her for teaching. Help was a phone call away she was available EVERY time I called, or she returned my call that day
Very unorganized, unclear emails and overall not much learned with her. Because it was an online class, it pretty much ran itself. She herself could use a course from her peers on computer technology and online etiquette. Highly recommend another professor.
I took Dr. Quadri's Intro to the teaching profession online. She is very helpful and always responds to calls and emails! Her class is very simple yet insightful. Sometimes her projects are a little unclear but I would definitely recommend her! You will need your textbook!!
She might be the worst teacher at Valencia. If you ask her a question she will never answer it. She forgets if she have you an assignment or not. She is not organized. And she is not helpful or understanding at all. DO NOT TAKE HER!
I loved her class for those commented that she was tough she isn't. For those who are needing to take this class shes awesome and kind to her students. You gotta participate and attend class meeting for the schedule to meet everyweek. Overall i really loved and enjoyed this class very much. If i hadnt taken diversity i would have taken it with her
She is down on earth such a nice teacher I've had and I would take her again. Her class were straightforward and you must be in class and listen carefully in class as long as you are wanting to be serious for this class you will do fine.
I signed up for her class online. We are required to do field observations within the public school system. I was having issues signing up within OCPS to be approved and she was very unhelpful and rude. She then called me out in an open post within the course using my name as an example which was very unprofessional. All in all I ended up dropping
Dr. Qadri is an excellent professor however don' take her online classes. Very hard to understand, errors on due dates and she is not available to help her online students. you really have to beg for help and she gets frustrated if you send more than one email. I attended to her class on campus one day and she is an amazing teacher. No ONLINE CLAS
She is absolutely TERRIBLE at getting back to her students. It takes her about 2 days to respond to me for her online class. Her directions are not very clear and if you directly email her, her response is to get post it in the FAQ so she can call you out there. I absolutely would not take her again. This is my worst online class experience ever.
Though she's nice to her students, Dr. Qadri tends to be atrocious at giving clear directions and actually saying when things are due. She continually changed due dates and even when directly asked she wouldn't give you a real answer for anything. She also has a bad habit of ignoring emails.
Dr. Qadri is a great professor. I have never had a professor who gives out her cell phone number so that she can always be available to her students. As opposed to others' comments, she always replies in a timely manner. As with any class, it is the students' responsibility to know the due dates and keep up with the assignments ahead of time.
She's an awesome professor. I took The online course two semester in a row in it was extremely easy. I passed with an "A" in both. You have to stay on top of assignments and deadlines and YouTube is your best friend if you don't understand. The class was great.
Dr. Q is awesome, she is all about helping her students and doing everything possible to give you an "A". The class was easy, couple group projects, a huge final project but overall, she legit. She makes you want to be the best you can be. Just pay attention for the due dates on everything, it's all over the place.
She's nice and wants her students to pass. But if you like structure and clear directions, don't expect it here. She gives you "freedom" for assignments, but is unclear of what she actually wants. If you have a question for her, she's likely to just tell you to look in the syllabus, which isn't helpful in the least. DB every week-easy points though
One of the things I enjoyed the most is the pressure she puts in multitasking. Over the semester you are expected to be completing observation hours, homework and projects; all at the same time. She can be a little over the place but you really learn. Her class is good to decide if you like teaching or if it isn't for you.
Totally unorganized. Tells us to go to schools for 20 hours about 2 weeks before kids get out of school and then tells us we were supposed to do some kind of activity/lesson with them that we aren't aware of until after the schools are closed. Easy grader but screwed on my final/larger assignments now. Maybe she's this terrible to test our patience
She is bad with communicating back with students. I wouldn't recommend this Professor. But the class is easy, as long as you do the work you'll get an A
DO NOT take this prof if you can't figure things out on your own. Her assignment schedule was completely off in relation to blackboard due dates and she doesn't answers your questions with anything helpful if she even responds at all! The grading criteria is clear and the assignments are easy but I spent all semester confused on when stuff was due.
She's a nice and caring professor. The grading criteria was clear cut. The only issue I had with this professor was communication. It takes a day or two for her to respond back an email and due dates on the syllabus were a little off compared to the due dates with blackboard. This class is heavily textbook-centered and there's great discussions.
Why is this course even available in the summer if the OCPS website is going to be down for summer maintenance and she only recommends one school that you could look into for your 20 SL hours. I guess it's an easy way to make some extra money.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She has an unclear syllabus, she can't get due dates right, and she changes assignments the week they are due. Sometimes within days of their due date. After a few unsuccessful email bouts, I asked for a call and was able to air my concerns. She never really addressed them. Easy A, but you'll be frustrated for all of it.
Some of the information that she would send to the class would end up being confusing and would have it where you had to email her to get a clear answer.
Course was taken online, however the whole course was the most disorganized class I have ever taken. She did not follower her own syllabus and changed due dates without even telling us. I went from having a 100 to a 68 within a day... It was even worse that she changed the due date like 10 days before the actual due date. DO NOT TAKE ONLINE!!!!!!!!
She is an awesome professor! I loved her online class. She was easily accessible and even gave out her cell number. Of course she does expect her students to be professional.
Dr. Q is an amazing professor! She's always willing to go the extra step for her students. Don't procrastinate then expect to get an immediate response for questions. She's very approachable. Not only does she teach the essentials of EDF 2005, but she exemplifies the key characteristics of successful teachers. She really motivated and encouraged me
Loved this class! Reasonably easy course if you're willing to put in the effort. I like the discussion style and activities she chooses. I also liked that there's some freedom in the assignments. Very helpful and passionate professor.
Dr. Yasmeen Qadri is very dedicated to her profession and is a role model for future teachers. I was hesitant to take her class after reading some of the comments. But I found them unreasonable and judgemental. Students who do not put time to read her syllabus can find it unorganized. She is always willing to help and you can contact her any time.
Very highly educated woman, won many awards and have presented internationally. I was fortunate to have Dr. Y. Qadri as a teacher in three of my courses. If you take time to understand her organization and read thoroughly you will breeze through her class. 20 Service Learning hours are departmental requirement. Prof will do everything to help you.
I was uncertain if teaching was for me until I took Professor Y. Qadri's class and experienced Service Learning in public schools. As an online student she gave me the option to complete my hours in school. I dream to be like her --she is so inspiring and I wish Valencia can clone more professors like Dr. Qadri. Got an easy A and learned a lot!
Dr. Qadri is very passionate about education. I was on the fence about becoming a teacher but I'm so glad I took this course! She has made a huge impact in my life by providing me with a solid foundation in the art of teaching. She made sure to provide us with the tools and honest advice we need as future educators.
Dr. Qadri is one of my favorites! She made me appreciate diversity & different cultures & the impact that it has on education. She makes the class interesting by adding humor & personal stories related to the course material. Dr. Q is an excellent professor who will make sure that you fall in love with the art of teaching while seeing the reality.
Online EDF 2085 with Dr. Yasmeen Qadri was easier than a lot of other education classes that I've taken with other professors. Weekly easy simple quizzes. Weekly easy but very interesting discussion posts with enjoyable videos. Two easy papers. And a final project about the SL hours. She provides A LOT of opportunities for SL hours and good pdfs.
What can I say, Professor Qadri knows her stuff. If you are not quiz savvy extra credit and reflection is available for everyone. You will only Pass the class if you are really interested in learning and willing to put your best foot forward. Do all the assignments, ask questions, and complete Service Learning hours on time and you will pass.
very unorganized
I had Prof Qadri for EDF 2005. She's a little unorganized since she teaches 10+ classes, so it's understandable. If you want to contact her, send a message via Canvas since it shows what class you're in & she replies mainly on there. Her instructions can be confusing so be sure to have some office hours with her. She's very nice & inspirational!
Dr. Qadri was very sweet and caring. She wants all of her students to pass. She's just a little unorganized or it just seems that way with how classes went. All in all pleasant professor and better than many. (Offers extra credit!)
Such a kind and understanding professor. She gives you every opportunity known to pass and the class is a piece of cake. Taking her again next semester.
Professor Qadri has a very easy to follow syllabus and assignment list. She responds to emails very quickly and is always willing to help. I would definitely take her because the course load was easy to manage. Our final was a power point, including proof of our 20 service learning hours, and that was it.
Although this class is fairly easy, it was absolutely ridiculous. This professor was extremely unclear in every assignment. It felt as if we were a class of 4th graders. She was always blaming students for every little thing, including her projector issues & her literally grading a quiz wrong. Wont take this Professor again and dont recommend!
Dr. Qadri is not clear with her instructions and claims that the lack of instruction creates more creative assignments. If you can get past her disorganization, this class is actually easy if you have time. No test just quizzes, one chapter presentation, 20 service learning hours, and a final presentation. Good luck!
An amazing teacher. She is very kind and sweet. I was a student and am taking her again. Always accessible outside of class, and is willing to help you if you ask. Definitely take her class, learn from er treasure box (you'll find out when you take her.) 40+ years of experience, and very awarded. Read about her before, she is awesome.
Shes not very good at problem solving she just declare sthat what you are/aren't doing is alarming or disappointing. in you don't live near east campus do not take her because she doesn't seem to get that some of her students live in kissimmee and cant meet with her every week. She is super nice face2face. The book teaches you alot about u as a edu
She is considerate but expects you to put in effort into her class and the education occupation. The 20 SL Hours are a bit tedious, there are weekly or biweekly quizzes, 1 chapter presentation with a partner, and 1 "in-class simulation" presentation. Sometimes there is random hw but she gives 3-4 extra credits and brings snacks every now and then.
Horrible
DONT TAKE HER FOR INTRO TO EDUCATION CLASS IS A MESS, SHES UNORGANIZED AND DOESNT LET YOU MAKE UP WORK. SHES RUDE AND EXPECTS TOO MUCH OF YOU.
Dont do it to yourself
Dont do it, youll regret it. Took her online and shes very unorganized and doesnt clarify your questions very well.
Very annoying and expects you to make every class and if you dont she calls it disrespecting her
Doesnt let you make up assignments to raise your grade.
If you do the work you'll get an A! Professor Qadri is very understanding and helpful. This is my second time taking her for a class both online and I plan to take her again! If you communicate with her she'll do what she can to help you out!
She is super sweet! She came into class with snacks often and was very understanding on personal issues as long as you told her, she makes it clear that she cares about her students
Amazing professor. This was my second time taking her. She is one of the most sweet and understanding professor you will ever meet. She has so much experience (you'll love her treasure box.).
In the beginning she did not respond to anything and she made you ask questions on FAQ. She didn't like being emailed and she was rude sometimes. Also she isn't good at explaining anything.
I thoroughly enjoy the books Dr. Qadri requires. I've had trouble in my past two courses with her receiving feedback. Sometimes, there's mismatched information in expectations and the modules. Just be sure to ask questions early and to your classmates too. The coursework is very manageable. The communication issue is the reason I rated 4.
I will be withdrawing from Professor Qadri's class. This was meant to be an elective course, but she treats it like a military drill. If you email her a question, she will not answer it. SHE made an error on one of our quizzes and said that 15+ students emailed her regarding this issue and that only 1 student should have brought it to her attention
Professor Qadri is one of those teachers that prides themselves on being a "tough teacher". She blabs on and on about how she has a DR degree in education and how she knows what shes talking about. She will NEVER answer emails, and barely responds to discussion questions. She also comes across as rude and unwilling to help her students.
I had trouble finding a school to do hours at. She did not help and gave me a zero for missing the first checkpoint. I still had a B in her class. She never graded my final, and input my final grade as a D. I protested the grade and she changed it back to a B. Tried to claim I never submitted my final, but I had proof I did. Never take her class.
Probably the best teacher so far Ive had. Did some remote teaching along side her and she gives you extra credit, plus a letter of recommendation for your resume. Her directions for some of her assignments are hard to comprehend but send an email and get a clear answer of what she wants and she'll tell you. But I would totally recommend her.
She's a nice professor. I did enjoy taking her class this semester and I would recommend taking her to other students. My only issues with this professor is that she is a bit slow with responding to emails and the instructions on some assignments were difficult to interpret. There are quizzes each week, but they are short and open book.
Please take this course with another professor. Her Canvas course is poorly organized in many ways. If you email her, she will make you wait days for a passive aggressive response or not reply at all. She complains that multiple students email her about the same thing... as if we are supposed to know. Overall frustrating experience.
This professor can be frustrating. Their course is poorly organized, and they're slow to respond to emails. However, unstuck study and the free textbook can help make up for it. Stay engaged, and you might just get a decent grade.
Her canvas course is severely unorganized. She also complains about how emails are "unprofessional." She also forces you to miss very important things like work or school to attend her zoom calls that are just her talking about herself and her student(s) for 60% of the call and only answering about 15-20% of questions asked.
More often then not very unclear on directions for any assignments. Was almost never helpful when asked questions and almost made you feel dumb for having to ask the question.
