I loved his class. Alot of people that where taking his class along with Chemistry were saying that they learned more chemistry in his class than in their actual chemistry class so if you are going to be a bio/pre-med major and want to take bio and chemistry together definitely take his class.
excellent, hard but you lern a lot. be on his side or he will make you suffer.
Professor K was the best profeesor I ever had, he was eager for you to learn and comprehend all the materials
Please, for the sake of your family and future...or future family...do not take this guy. Unless you have a tutor on the side, forget about it. He will sit there and joke and laugh with you during class, but when the test comes and you get back your grade, I assure you will be crying. He is not helpful, your better off teachin yourself. Dont do it
To end the confusion, the physics and bio teachers are brothers. The one who teaches Bio is a really good teacher. His tests are a challenge and there is not enough time to go over eveything in class, but there are some great Bio cd-roms by Thinkwell(lecturer George Wolfe) they are awesome, buy them on Ebay to save money.
He is a great teacher, I enjoyed his class very much. His class is hard but worth it. I wished he was teaching 104 I would take him again!
I belive that he is the sample of a clear, transparent person, i have learned a lot from him & wish him the best future with his family. i wish i can take his courses all the times. thank you Yasser
I like his courses since he has an excellent manner of transforming all the theoritical information into practical ones. he is honest, gentelman, fair & firm. god bless you Yasser. i with my family wish him the best. Massa & Karim K.
Who ever is planing to take Biology 103. Do yourself a favor search for a different professor. His test will make you dizzy, even if you study. The students that give him good report is the students that is good in biology.
This professor is a horrible teacher. He is not audible. He is a bad teacher. His exams are very hard and very confusing; and he does not know the subjects of the Biology 103 course well enough to be teaching Biology at an undergraduate level.
omg dont take his class it was a nightmare
Worst professor ever!!!!! ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever!!!! 5 chapters to memorize everything for one test and 60 questions!!! it's up to you take him!!!!
This professor is the absolute worst ever!!!In all my years of schooling I've never had a professor/teacher as bad...You would set yourself up for failure even considering taking this class!!
Best teacher ever
he is an a great teacher that cares for all his students if you are willing to learn and work hard he is brilliant
I highly recommend him.he makes the material accessible by explaining it in the context of our every day life. he is transparent. encourages students to learn and to come to him with any question. i wish i could have him for all my BIO classes. Wish you the best Prof K.
Worst professor I have ever had in all of my years as a student. He is far to concerned with his "industry" that he does not explain the material practically. His concern with covering material (as assigned by the dept)makes him forget to assure that his students UNDERSTAND it. This class ruined my GPA! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
ABSOLUTE WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! He is rude and is only concerned with the students who speak his BIOLOGY language. I am an English major who HAD to take this class and he showed no interest in helping me learn. My questions were answered by other students under his direction. It was humiliating! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!
Horrible! I went to the extent of getting a D in the class because i just couldnt take it anymore. this man ruined my semester, especially since i was going through a rough patch with my health and had a lot of docs appts and surgerys. I stopped going 4 weeks away from the end. HE SUCKKS!!!!
Best professor ever! All his exams are easy as long as you're willing to read and make sense of the material from the text book. The key is to be ahead of him in the readings, that way when he does his lectures with power point, you get a clear understanding of what's going on. Also, almost all his exams have extra credit questions.
Most ridiculous class ive ever taken.
he is a nice man but if you don't already have a strong background in biology DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! He does not explain the material in a way someone without a strong biology background will understand. I had to go to you tube YES YOUTUBE to break a lot of the material down so I could fully understand!! Maybe you tube should get my tuition instead.
He is a great teacher. Very helpful & understanding. He teaches very profitional and communicate well with his students. He is one of the best teacher I have ever had.
for any student who is ready to learn, professor kabakibi is the right prof. He is highly sound as a biology teacher. He is ready to keep repeating himself until all class members understand his point. A wonderful professor who is willing to make all his students to be self-reliant and not half-baked. The best professor ever.
In my opinion, He is a Super Great Professor. With him, I have learned beyond the basis of the course, I have assimilated the basic concepts and gained great understanding. He takes time to explain and shows interest in students' success, not only in his class, but also in anything related to academic success of his students. He is my first Best.
I highly recommend his classes. He knows and explains the material very well so you will definitely learn in his classes. He is very good about sticking to the syllabus schedule and he also gives ample notice about upcoming tests. He is extremely fair and willing to help you if you need it. I wish I could take him for future classes.

This prof is concerned with the success of all his students. Lessons well planned. Clear presentation of content. I like this prof because he wants all his students to succeed. for him, the class is a team that must win. I would recommend him to anybody who wants really to learn something in bio 103-104.
I was a little nervous when I read the reviews about Prof. K, but taking his class was well worth it! He explains concepts very well and truly has a strong interested in working as a team to make the class succeed. If you listen to him and pay attention you will do well. I would definitely recommend him. Great guy!
This man is #1 on my list Best professor i had not only for biology but for CSS he's always there to help you when you need it always a team player and very alert. motivates you to do better and be the best you can be gives good advices and when he doesn't have an answer topic you bring up he refers you to another person that has more info
He is the best bio professor, really like the class. if you do your part he will do his, he helps a lot and encourage you the entire semester, would take him again for any other class. You just have to study and get to know the material, you will do fine.
Professor K is one of th e best professors I've ever had. He actually cares for his and is really passionate about the subject. He's really helpful and gives a bunch of bonus points. I noticed all the bad reviews seem to be from people who are lazy and expect to get good grades with minimal effort. He's a great man and I'd take him again.
Professor K is the best bio professor, ready and you will be fine, do your part as a student, he will help you if he see that you are trying. Totally recommend his class
i would recommend not taking this class in the summer. He gives a lot of information and expects you to be able to know everything so you can take a quiz once a week. Definitely was challenging
Definitely the best biology professor out there! I was scared when I read the reviews, but everything was the opposite. He clearly explains the content, tests are easy and offers a lot of extra credit. He even gives a review before the test that sums it all up! Also tells you what the next quiz is about. He's very very helpful I'd take him again!!
I am taking this professor right now and I am so lost and scared because he's moving super fast. He doesn't make it possible to understand everything but somethings I am understanding because I am studying from morning till night. I believe I can survive this class if I have tutoring or any other teaching outside of his class.
He is a good person but as a Professor he expects you to at least have a base of knowledge. He gives A LOT of opportunities for extra credit. However, HIS POP QUIZES ARE UNEXPECTED. a 7/10. will not bed the rules for nobody.
My favorite professor last semester! Prof. Kabakibi is knowledgeable, very fair, and leads a straightforward class. He's super encouraging and always has his door open to students. He genuinely cares about your success--not only in his class but also in your future goals and aspirations. A really great guy and solid professor. Highly recommended!
Excellent professor
Professor Kay is one of the most experienced biology professors .He pushes his students to excell.
Best professor I've had! Had him for bio 102, 103, 104. Genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well! Goes in depth/prepares you for the next level. People who didn't do well were the ones who didn't study and expected tests to be cake. If you show him that you're at least trying, he'll work with you. I got A's in all 3 classes.
Read your notes and prepare well before each class. Try not to miss too many lectures because his explanations make your study easier.
STUDY, STUDY, STUDY AND YOU WILL PASS;-)
Prof Kabakibi is a really good prof but it is a tough class. He does try and work with his students when he sees that most of the class isnt keeping up but if you dont study theres no way youll pass. the only bad thing is the pop-quizzes that usually make no sense and are really hard. His tests are straight forward long as you know the material.
Prof. K is amazing and really cares about his team. Prof K shares his learning tools such as acronyms to help each student excel. As long as you come prepared by reading the material, listen intently during lecture, and do the all homework you'll pass with flying colors. You'll learn a lot because he interacts with students during lectures & lab.
Professor K. is an extremely knowledgeable and caring professor. But you need to attend all the classes and do all the work. Pay attention to what he says to pay attention! He's a great solid guy Who truly cares about his students and is extremely knowledgeable. Definitely take this professor again and did for bio 104
I took Prof. Kabakibi for BI103 spring of 2015. He is an amazing guy. The way he clearly unleashes the course material to you shows you that he knows his stuff and he is passionate about it. Do your best and you will get a good grade. He also writes a very good recommendation letters. I met him weeks ago for mine, and I trust him for that. Take him
He's is not the best professor he reads off PowerPoint every lecture. He cares if he sees you try. He gives open note test. He also has a lot of information about bio programs at ECC and at other schools. If you want an A in his class you must do everything he assigns and read the chapters yourself to get a better grip of the material.
if you take him during summer you will regret so, he will condense all 2 to 3 chapter every week and expect an A from you, a research paper a presentation on line assignments all of this in 6 weeks which make no sense at all , do your self a favor and don't take this guy
monotony all class , quizzes are very heavy and not clear too much work for a summer class i personally wont recommend him especially during the summer
very tough grader cares a lot about details and gives too much work
very tough grader, I personally won't recommend him hard quizes
not a biology major but i didnt enjoy this class he gives way a lot of work
I was so scared at the beginning by the way students talked about him. Professor K. is an extremely knowledgeable and caring professor. But you need to attend all the classes and do all the works. Pay attention to what he says! As long as you come prepared by reading the material, listen intently during lecture, and do the all homework you'll pa
Prof. K likes to make his students work hard, but this isn't because he enjoys it, but because he cares. He will try to prepare you for the next step as well as he can.
He is an amazing professor, he comes to every class very prepared. He gives comprehensive reviews which you should really delve into to pass the exams. He also gives opportunity for extra credit. He encourages everyone. I highly recommend him because he gives his best even though the courses are a bit intense, he is always on the student's side.
his tests are super long, cares about the most unimportant details please do not take him you will regret doing so
Great guy, he is super caring and helpful. He wants his students to understand the coursework and apply themselves to it. If you are a bio major, then he is a good choice.
I honestly hated this mans. Sat In his class for three uninteresting hours. If you get a bad grade on one of his tests he lets the whole class know just by the look on his face as he gives you back your paper. His tests are also really long. Moves through material too fast and then says his test should be "easy".
Prof Kabakibi was a caring professor his office hours were always accurate and he students to use it HE MIGHT SEEM DIFFICULT AT first but just don't give up and stick to studying a lot with people outside class and use his office hours you'll be fine
Prof Kabakibi was good for 104 bio 104 is easier than 103 trust me At first it seemed hard but don't drop the class it gets easier as you go further in the chapters and prof K office hours were accurate and he was always helpful when I went to him with questions Relax the final was the other tests combined so listen to the corrections of the tests
This professor is average, he is definitely not the best. You have to actually read the whole textbook to pass this class, his explanations rarely helps in Exams. The Exam questions are hard, but you should be fine if you read the textbook and do a lot of practice questions (his lectures or PowerPoint alone will not get you an A).
I've had this professor for both BIO 103 & 104 and I can tell you that he's great at explaining the topics so that you understand them. He also makes time for students during office hours, even if its just to give advice. PLUS there's almost always an opportunity for extra credit ;)
In the simplest words, the greatest professor in the entire school. He is very understanding of your situation as a student tries to work with you. His teaching was straight to the point, and his reviews for the test are thorough, if you take notes on the review, you will ACE this class with a breeze. Upon realization now, I will miss this class.
Not an easy A class try to take somebody else of you are looking for an easy A he is also kind of confusing in his lectures not the best
Warning do not take his class absolutely the worst in biology very hard at grading repeat him self thousands of times in class very boring class you won't learn
A complete hard class he is very picky with anything in class
unbelievable with this guy, makes things very complicated if i didnt have a choice i would of dropped the class
took this class over the summer goes super fast weekly quizzes a project a lot of labs and a research paper he tried to do all this in one week i'm a transfer student he made me hate biology
do your self a favor and stay as far as you can from this class you will fail easy he is very annoying and grades very hard
He's one of the best professors at ECC and really cares about the students. BIO 103 is a straightforward class. Do the reading, study the slides, and then review for the tests. Can't see how you can get less than a B. You'll actually learn something in this class and he explains EVERYTHING that will show up on the tests. Don't be a slacker.
Tough grader too many quizzes a lot of reading didn't enjoy this class at all
If you are a lazy student this class is NOT for you. Do your part and you have nothing to worry about. Heavy lectures are expected in bio and Professor K really knows his stuff. He is a respectable guy, very understandable and only wants the best for you. If you show effort he will help. Reviews exams beforehand and gives extra credit If needed...
I was intimidated the 1st week of the semester. He came across as a really tough professor. But after awhile, I realized that his class is pretty easy, as long as you pay attention & put in some effort. Not a hard class as long as you do the lab reports and put in some study time for the exams. And I'm not a good test taker or good in biology.
you need to study before the class , and focuse during the class , and study after the class . your life will be just about biology , because the exams will be confusing
As long as you prepare and participate, class is a pleasure. Tests can be difficult but not impossible. He is more than willing to lead you towards the right path if you show effort. Definitely would take again.
Professor K is great! He really cares about his students and the only way you can fail this class is if you do absolutely nothing. Get ready to read and study if you want the A though. Just do your part and he will help you in whatever way he can.
Professor K is a man who genuinely cares about his students. Just do your part, make sure you show up and participate and He'll do what he can to help you. He's always on your side.
Best professor and even counselor than any other in the Biology department.
Best professor and even counselor in the biology department.
HE IS HORRIBLE!
Unfortunately I got stuck with this professor cause he has seniority within the school and I registered for a different professor initially. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life. Narcissism is an understatement, and demeaning tendencies are guaranteed as well. I strongly suggest steering clear from this prof if you can.
I believe in studying hard to pass, but is not worth having panic attacks on test days. He can be very clear with his lecture even though he rushes the entire time, if by clear I mean read and review all of the slides. Be very attentive that he wont give you questions related to homework. His test are all multiple choice but dont rely on that.
HE HAS A BAD ATTITUDE MAJORITY IF HIS STUDENTS FAIL ALL HIS TETS BESIDES LIKE 3 STUDENTS YOU CANT ASK HIM TO REPEAT A QUESTIONS HE'S GOING TO HAVE A ATTITUDE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM 3 PEOPLE DROPPED HIS CLASS THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF SEMESTER ALL HIS TEST ARE MULTIPLE CHOICE AND NOT OPEN-ENDED BESIDES HIS LAB EXAM PLEASE RUNNNNNNN
Awful he's very rude test have nothing to do with the review
Prof. Yasser is a very great professor, and of course Biology is not an easy course, it is heavy loaded and you'll need to study a lot of materials and watch YouTube videos to help, He does his best to make sure you are on track and he gives a lot of opportunities to make up and pass the class. Just a hint - study the textbook for tests and exams.
The best professor ever. But you have to do your part and study.
Great professor, truly cares about the students. Tests might be difficult sometimes, but do your work and make notes and do not miss classes. He is always on your side.
He explains very well nice professor, I do understand Biology better.
One of the best professors at Essex. He always starts from scratch, making sure everyone understands the material. And there is always extra credit. You need to put effort to make an A, but it wasn't that difficult to do it. I really appreciate Professor K's course, it builds a good foundation for any further bio courses.
A professor deserving of hard workers. Do your assignments, study before coming to class, and ask questions, you'll find this class straightforward for you. Would poke a few sarcastic lines here and there. Don't give up, he is willing to help you get the most out of your grade.
Professor K. does not represent all professors at a four year institution, so don't let him scare nor discourage you. Prof. K does seem to confuse and overcomplicate things at a fast pace for beginners level biology. He is test hevy.If you plan on taking Scientific Research Methods, he's the only professor that teaches it and it's not much better.
Worst professor in ECC. He teaches introductory bio!!! Youre supposed to introduce the subject not expect students to know it already. He is so narcissistic and has high expectations for students. Like dude you teach at a community college for the town of Newark. Again, Newark!! Man needs to be fired ECC lost so many students bc of this man
Professor Kabakibi is a passionate man who gives insightful lectures, and opportunities to excel. He provides everything you need to succeed. One of the few course where I felt like I actually learned something. In fact, I've already registered for his next course. Professor Kabakibi is sure way to get an easy A.
Professor K can be challenging, but putting in the work pays off. Definitely use the textbook and try Unstuck study for efficient prep - it was a lifesaver for me. Overall, a tough but rewarding class.
come to class. don't skip, you'll regret it. if you don't know how to study i suggest you learn before taking this course. don't rely on the lectures for studying. READ THE TEXTBOOK. all his tests are multiple choice so you WILL question yourself. DON'T QUESTION YOURSELF!! i suggest you find a smart kid in your class and stick with them. trust me .
He was good and cared a lot. Don't be scared, just put in minimal work at least. Gives plenty of chances to pass with the best grade you could get based on your work. Will not recommend for 210 or 211 tho.
I had this professor about two years ago, but I recommend his class to anyone who really wants to learn. There are times where the lecture gets a bit boring, but he attempts his best to keep it engaging. He is a fair grader but there is a lot of material so be ready to read and study. Really great class
Good professor just hard material, would recommend, DO NOT SKIP CLASS EVERY LECTURE IS VERY IMPORTANT.
He's definitely a first impressions typa guy so try your best not to piss him off because he will hold it against you. Study and pay attention in class. He definitely wants you to pass so he will give you chances to make things up. he normally drops your lowest exam score, he gives extra time to make up assignments. he might give you an online test
honestly just take him and get the class out the way. i would take his class again.
