He is AMAZING!!! He is very caring and makes the class fun. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. I am so happy I took him. He also reviews for tests and tells you what to study for his tests. He is the best ever!!!! Take him, he is so worth it. I wish I had him for other science classes too!!! Absolutely loved him!
He is incredible!!! I loved him, he really wants his students to do well, he will do whatever it takes to help you pass, he curves grades, reviews for tests, and he just makes the subject interesting. He is very knowledgeable. He is so kind and so sweet! I think he is amazing!! Take him!!!!!!
Dr. Saad is a great professor. He takes complex subjects and breaks them down so that they are easy to understand. Like any college course, you must read the book and study but if you do so, you should have no problem getting a good grade. Dr. Saad wants his students to do well and will stay after to tutor you if needed. Great teacher.
Very good nice teacher. He gives you everything you need to pass. Textbook is not really used just views his slides which are really helpful. Also view the sample test because the majority of the questions for the sample test are on his exams. And every question that are on his exams are always good to remember because they are on the finals.
Professor Saad was very helpful, excellent at lecturing, and always willing to answer any question. He takes his job very seriously, ad as long as you study what he tells you to, you wont have a hard time. I truly enjoyed taking his class
Easy class, almost too easy to the point of it not being fair to the people who try. I put in what I would consider "B" work, but I got an A. Still learned a lot, if you apply yourself you will learn, even though you may not have to in order to pass. Overall good experience and very nice teacher, would pick him again.
AWESOME PROFESSOR, LOV HOW HE TEACHES,
I don't think it's possible to overstate how awesome this professor is. He is clearly passionate about the success of his students; he cracks jokes which makes the subject and the lessons more entertaining; he is incredibly fair; he communicates (in class and via email) exceptionally well. I cannot recommend this professor enough; take him!
Excellent Professor. Very passionate about what he teaches and is super helpful. I am so glad I took him even if it was a Sunday Class! I would take him again!
Fantastic teacher! A bit of a difficult class but its Bio, so duh, kinda. He helped me get through it the whole way and really cared about us comprehending the material. Take him if you want to learn.
This guy is awesome. He really cares about his student. He make sure you understand the material. He review all his test before test day. There no way anyone should fail his class. In a class of 30 no one dropped, that should say something about the way he teaches. There are three test and a final. Their not cumulative.
Prof. Saad is extremely helpful and kind to his students. He wants you to make sure you pay attention in class and understand the chapters before moving on to the next. Tests were pretty hard to me. It's good to study the chapters and ask lots of questions during lectures. Sunday classes aren't so bad when it's with prof. Saad!
He is the best professor!!! Take him! He is really nice and helpful. He truly cares and wants his students to pass.
TAKE MY ADVISE AND REGISTER EARLY FOR HIS CLASS BECAUSE HE'S AN EXCELLENT PROFESSOR AND THE GOOD ONES GO FAST. I'M CURRENTLY TAKING BIO WITH HIM ON SATURDAYS.THE INFORMATION IS ALOT BUT THE PROFESSOR IS ABLE TO PASS ON THE INFO SO U CAN UNDERSTAND. HIS TESTS ARE MANAGEABLE BUT U MUST STUDY!I'M LEARNING SO MUCH. GLAD IM TAKING HIS CLASS
Prof. Saad is the best biology professor at Valencia. He's very knowledgeable in this area. Biology is not easy but he uses excellent examples to help u get it. My only advice is, if your weak in biology avoid taking it during summer. It's alot of info in a short time but if u must, don't worry you'll have a great professor that will work with you.
Just completed summer. If uour weak in Biology then I highly recommend Professor Saad. Of all my years of study I've never had such an excellent professor that truly goes above and beyond to ensure that we understand the topics that are in most cases challenging. Thank you Professor Saad. You made it worth attending Saturday class.
A supportive and very caring professor. Grades are posted early on blackboard. He responds to emails in a timely fashion. wish he thought all the science classes i need. i suggest to anyone who wants to learn biology to take him you won't regret it. Bio is not easy so choosing the right prof. made a HUGH difference. so happy i made the right choice
I took him in the spring and he is a very good and caring professor, but you still need to study hard! and be really focused. Biology is a rough course lol but i pulled though and got an A, I recommend him :)
Good professor. Easy to understand and follow. Always willing to help you with questions or concerns. The class is not easy but if you put in the effort you should get a good grade.
All I can say is thanks professor for always staying back saturdays after labs to assist us with challenging topics. You are by far the best professor at Valencia. You really care about your student's learning.
HE IS SO HARD. He's very passionate, smart, and helpful. But his class is just too difficult to get an A in. I've never had a B since kindergarten. I've always had straight As. This is definitely the hardest class I've taken in my entire schooling career. It reminds me of a high school AP CLASS. There's not much work, butTESTS ARE SUPER HARD!!!!!!
With a week left to go I can speak about this amazing professor. He is very helpful. His doors are always open. He's one of Valencia's best. I learnt so much. Microbiology is not easy but he makes himself available . Take him you'll be glad u did.
Prof. Saad is AWESOME!!. Microbiology is not an easy subject so come prepared to do work. He uses powerpoints and he makes learning a complex subject fun. He gives alot of surprise extra credit quizes so these you can use to boost your grade. He makes himself available during his office hours. Take him you'll be happy you did. BEST PROF EVER!!!!
VERY HELPFUL PROFESSOR THAT TRULY CARES ABOUT YOUR PROGRESS IN CLASS. YOU ALWAYS GOT TO BE PREPARED FOR CLASS. LOTS OF QUIZES BUT THESE QUIZES HELP YOU TO STAY ON TRACK. I FIND THAT THE TESTS WERE DIFFICULT ESPECIALLY IF YOU WERE NOT PREPARED. OVERALL NO ONE SHOULD FAIL UNLESS THEY DIDNT PUT IN THE WORK. THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR LAZY STUDENTS!!!!
Dr. Saad is an amazing professor! Extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and helpful. MIcrobio is not an easy subject, but he makes it more understandable by providing great examples and drawing on the board. His lectures and labs are really good. Take him! You won't regret. (I have the textbook for sale and lab manual) rosegoldparis at gmail
Best professor at Valencia. Very humble and caring human being. There's no easy A in his class, However I promise you he will do all he can to help u understand the concepts. He is never in a hurry to leave so you can always ask him for help. Take him you won't regret it
I usually don't do ratings BUT OMG this professor is one of THE BEST EVER at valencia of all times.. I am so sad that he doesn't teach every bio, chem, and other sciences. I learned SO MUCH within this class and it really sparked my interest. I took him last semester on Saturdays and it was totally worth it. You do have to study but deff worth it
There is not a better Biology professor anywhere. Do not get me wrong, his class is difficult and you will work for your grade, however, he will do everything in his power to help you in this class!!! Does offer extra credit, quick to respond to any email, extremely quick at grading and you will always know exactly where you stand in the class
This amazing Professor waited on me after I called him at the end of his office hours about my frustration on a Micro topic. Now these are the kind of Prof. that we need at Valencia. The one who love what they do, makes a difference in the lives of students and are not just in it for the pay. Now his course is not easy but he'll be there for u 100%
Great professor, and also a very kind person. He has helped me a lot!!! He truly cares about your grade in his class, and always happy to see you during his office hours if you have any questions. You must be very lazy to fail his tests because he is so good at explaining the material. I really wish he would teach all the science courses.
Great Professor for Science. If you're a lazy person then don't bother taking the class because you need to come to class and lab in order to keep up with the class and read the textbook, and do the mastering biology. Without doing all of those you won't get the grade you want. Put time out to study for this class in order to pass.
I cannot over emphasize how this professor has made a huge difference in my appreciation for this science course. I looked forward to coming to class and I worked hard to earn my grade. If you do the work, ask questions and go to class there's no way you can get less than an A. He sets u up for success, but u must do your part as a student.
This subject is difficult and his tests can be challenging at times, but you can do it!!!!. I agree with many of these posts that Prof. Saad is really HELPFUL, PATIENT AND KIND. I always feel comfortable approaching him about my concerns. My advice to you is study and ask questions. Just put in the time and effort and you'll get an "A". TAKE HIM!!!
Professor Saad is wondeful. Take him if you want to get your money's worth. He's very supportive and approachable. However if you're looking for an easy A then try another professor. Taking Bio with Saad wasnt easy but it was doable. His exams are design to test if you know the literature so studying is a must!!!
Professor Saad is one of the best lecturers, this class wasn't easy but he's always there to help. I loved it with him. Be prepared to work though. His tests are usually on 4 chapters, there in always a quiz before it to help to study better for test. Try not skip his class and you'll do well.
I took him last Fall. I dont agree that his tests were hard. If you study, attend class an A is highly possible. He gives study guides and he has an open session with the class before a final. He will go over any topic that u have problems with during this session. He's very approachable and he's willing to help you if you ask. A++ Professor!
Gosh! I am actually kind of sad that I will not be taking his class anymore.... he is the most helpful and easy going professor I have had. Getting an A is very possible as long as you attend class, study, and do your work. You wont regret it!
One of the best professor at Valencia!!. There is no way you can fail if you put a little effort in your work. I truly hope that this professor stays at Valencia because it seems like the good ones never do! Professor Saad, if u read this post one day I just want to say "thank you" You have renewed my hope that good professors are at Valencia West
Overall an excellent Professor. I would definetely recommend him. His tests are not hard. Once you start studying from day 1 its comes easy. Lab was little tedious though and you had to stay until the end as he would give little quizes just before class ends. They are not hard, they just keep u track :)
He is just a great professor! Lectures are easy. You actually learn something out of this class
Come to all classes, take good notes, and ask questions if you need clarification. Dr. Saad is an amazing professor who makes biology fun and clear. He uses many example, gives sample questions, and gives quizzes before the exam to prepare you. You will learn the material and pass the class if you apply yourself. Best professor ever.
The best professor ever! Took him for bio and microbio. He definitely does everything for you, and wants you to succeed! He is very kind and always happy to see you In his office, will explain the material until you fully understand it. Tests are not hard at all, everything is in his power points. Thank you Dr. Saad!
A professor who really cares about his students. I took his class two semesters ago and i can say i'm better prepared to take my teas exam because I was taught by him. He really teaches and when u leave, u are taught. I dont know how he does this but he dedicates his entire office hours to see students. These comments about him are 100% true. :)
There is cumulative quiz, 4 exams, lab quizzes and 2 lab exams. That class is so hard & little bit overwhelming b/c he teaches the whole chapter. Professor Saad is willing to help anyone. You have to come to his office and ask for help to review the exam! It is so hard to get an A on exam. You gotta study & study! The exam questions are tricky!
I adore Dr. Saad. He makes every lecture interesting! He repeats important things so you're prepared for what is expected. His tests are a bit tricky but if you study and read the book you'll do well. I'm so bummed his micro class filled up so fast because I'd take him a million times over again. He's a diamond in the rough, SIGN UP NOW FOR HMI!
Dr. Saad is one of the best professor Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. I took him 3 semesters ago and let me tell you i wish most of my pofessors were like him. He is an excellent professor. Very committed to making sure u learn the material. Also accomadating as well. :) Im well prepared to take my TEAS because of him. Thanks Professor Saad!!
Would definitely recommend Professor Saad to everyone. One of the best experiences I've had with a professor this semester! He really puts himself out there to see his students succeed. Of course, you are studying science and it takes effort to understand and memorize concepts. Great explainer, outgoing and makes you visualize concepts. Study hard.
He is a great professor. You do have to do the work but you know where to focus your efforts and he is always there to answer questions. Wish he taught more than just micro and bio because I'd take all my sciences with him.
HE IS AN AMAZING TEACHER! hands down the best professor ever. I gave him a 2 for easiness because he will make you work for it. You can't just "get by" in this class. You actually learn and he will do whatever he can to get you there. I can be a pretty stubborn learner and he was always there to help me. I cant wait to take him for microbiology!
I took this class during the summer. It was alot of textbook reading and lab quizzes every week. Micro is hard in general especially during 6-8 weeks. He cares alot about us. He knows his stuff and will give extra credit. But you will not pass just by reading his power points days before the exam. You have to read the book and ask questions.
I took this class during the summer and still managed to achieve an A without devoting my whole summer to this course. As long as you show up and pay attention to lectures and review them periodically and make some note cards you will be fine. lab quizzes are open book/notes so that is a plus. His extra credit prepares you for test.
He's a okay teacher but I wouldn't recommend him. His class gave me bad anxiety. His exams and quizzes are cumulative it is real easy to fall behind in his class. Even when I studied hard for his test it wasn't enough. The only good thing about him is that he gives extra credit but if you perform poorly on his test the extra credit won't help.
Dr. Saad is a great professor. He cares about his students, a lot. Biology 1 was hard for me personally but, he made it somewhat easy. I HATED that he gave fill-in the blanks because I could not remember some material. I would recommend him, he helps you any way possible.
He the best teacher Ive ever had for biology. He makes the class simple and he cares about his students. Gives a lot of extra credit and homework, but at the end that helps you study. Be prepared to read though. I would totally recommend him, no doubt!
I highly recommend this teacher. He really understands everything he is teaching and actually enjoys the subject. If you pay attention in class you will have no trouble passing his tests because everything is covered. You will have to put in a little work at home, but it is worth it. He is also very funny so his lectures are never boring.
He is very helpful, easy to understand. You have to read the book but when he lectures he opens your eyes to what you didn't understand. Do not miss a day because each topic builds up to the next one. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT it does help a lot! I wish he taught A & P; I would take him in a heartbeat. He is open for Office Hours.
Professor saad is one of the best professors I ever took in my life. He is very straightforward, so in order to get an A in his class, you put some effort. Just follow everything he says and pay attention in the class. You will not regret taking him. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!
Theres 4 lecture exams , all cumulitive. Amazing teacher but you HAVE to read to book to be able to answer all test questions. Loads of Exta Credit! All Homeworks are available from day 1 of class, must pace yourself to complete them by deadlines. Amazing guy cares for his students success.
The best professor I have ever taken. He lets you record his lectures which is super helpful for auditory learners!
I know everyone always says this, but Dr. Saad was honestly the best professor I've ever had. He's a great lecturer, and gives you the skills and information you need to succeed. He encourages students to come to his office, and sincerely cares. You're honestly making a mistake if you take Bio with anyone else.
Dr. Saad has been one of my favorite professors, however this class is not easy. I do not recommend taking lecture & lab in the same day because the workload is overwhelming. Make sure you have the book, and make your own study guides after class & lab. READ the chapter BEFORE class. If you're not a dedicated student, do not take this class.
Dr. Saad is phenomenal! You want to pass Biology AND actually understand what you are learning AND retain the information years from now? Take this man's class! He gives tons of extra credit, quizzes and opportunities to keep your grade up. Excellent pointers on how to study for his class and pass! He genuinely CARES about his work and his students
What you put into the class is exactly what you get out of it. If you don't want to do the work, you will have a very hard time. Grow up and realize this is a college science course, and start reading your textbook. If you do, you will learn SO MUCH from Dr. Saad's lectures. He's an great guy and an excellent professor.
Yasser is the most amazing professor! I hated biology and always failed until I took him. He makes things easy to understand and he is always there when you need help. If you put the work into the class, you have nothing to worry about. He truly is the best professor I have ever taken & I will only take him specifically for microbiology now.
Biology overall is a difficult class. Dr. Saad is a great professor, but his exams are not easy. DO NOT take this class unless you are a dedicated student and are ready to work hard for your grade. He is always willing to help, but you have to make an effort. At the end of the day, the grade you get is depending on how hard you studied.
IF you want to master this class then this is the professor for the job. He is very caring and will push you to be the best you can be. Like I said he makes you work for your grade and there is no rounding final grades.
Pay attention to every lecture closely, every sentence matters. If he repeats himself expect it on the test. He gives ample chances to bring up grades. He is caring and is willing to teach you personally in his office or through text. He creates a solid biology foundation but you have to do your part and study.
Be ready for tricky tests! Micro is interesting but he makes it difficult!
I loved Doctor Saad! He is one of the toughest professors I've had but he will do nothing but push you to your best. A lot of homework, quizzes, but it only sets you up to be successful for the cumulative exams required at the end of the semester. He really knows his stuff, and offers a lot of hours just to engage and make sure you understand.
Very passionate about Biology and you learn a lot from him, but he always reminds you to READ, READ, READ and finish the chapter even if does not because you have to be prepared for quizzes, test or to go the board and answer in-class exercises. He will know if you have read the book because of your answers.
He's a nice guy. You can tell that he loves to teach and he seems to always have a smile on his face. He gives way too much work, there's work due pretty much before and after every class. The worst part is that he makes you do group activities. It very difficult for somebody who is introverted.
He is a nice person, but not an organized professor. Schedule changes every week. Questions are not clear in the tests. He misses his own questions and gets mad with the class for complaining. Be careful. I would not recommend this professor.
He assigns a ton of homework, which is almost impossible to get done. Often, he will get frustrated if you aren't sitting perfectly upright and staring straight at him. Heaven forbid you look down to write. He yelled at me for shaking my leg twice, and just really got on my nerves. Constantly complains about the class and how no one understands it.
Avoid taking Dr. Saad for Micro at all costs. He fills his tests with 'deeper thinking' questions; even when you have mastered the material you'll still struggle with them because they're vague and full of grey areas. He also fell way behind, leaving us with 3 exams and 3 quizzes in the last 2 weeks of class. He said next semester will be harder.
This isn't high school!! Yes, his exams are challenging. But they are manageable. Yes you have to read the textbook, but it's for your benefit. He gives so much extra credit opportunities and homework that helps boost your grade and understand the material better. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR if you want to LEARN and have a chance in higher level science.
He is a nice professor, he explains well. You have to be prepared for the exams, they are a little bit challenging. You can do it.
Dr. Saad is a very caring and passionate professor that gives amazing lectures. He takes the time to explain the material to his students and a set of review questions about twice every lesson. His class is difficult and if you want an A you will also have to read the book. I was working at a new job and was unable to study as much and got a C.
Dr. Saad has made a tremendous positive impact on my academic career. I took him for Gen Bio and Micro. He is welcoming and cares about you learning! He let me bring my son to his office & was ALWAYS was there for me when I needed help with a topic. Thank you Dr. Saad for making me realize what I am capable of and pushing me! You are amazing!!!
He knows micro but he doesnt treat you like a college student which is annoying to deal with. My entire group has failed the first 2 tests & 3 quizzes, very hard class & im not a lazy student. I have studied & tried. Do not take him, his testable are full of critical thinking aka you think you know it but you clearly dont. EC is worth nothing
I'm currently taking Dr. Saad for Micro while also taking AP 2. This is NOT an easy class but if you time manage and prioritize, it is possible to pass both while working. This is college not high school.
I was self teaching the whole semester He makes micro harder than it is. His tests are hard and he is very unorganized. stay away from this professor
Taking him for micro. His exams are tricky and are challenging, but he gives students challenging questions to practice; these helped a lot with his exams.
This class is very clearly designed to be a weed-out course. This semester could have been harder on us; he made the pre- and post-labs optional and would sometimes take them for extra credit, and he told us that they used to be required. Definitely record his lectures and keep content fresh. Everything is cumulative.
I had the pleasure of being Dr. Saads student For Gen Bio 1 as well as Microbio and loved his teaching method. His class (microbio) is there to weed out people for the programs theyre trying to get into. He makes sure you know hes available anytime you need him and helps you with whatever he can. Among the better science professors at Valencia.
Dr. Saad's class is hard. It is Mircobiology after all! I just loved his lectures. He really explains things in a way I was able to understand. He makes complex subjects easier to understand. You really need to read the chapters, take notes and record the lectures, that really helps too! Overall, Dr. Sadd is a very caring professor! Take him.
Professor Saad, is an amazing professor and definitely challenges you... however, we began with 25 students 08/27/18 and as of 11/13/2018, only 6 students remaining. That just shows you alot right there. Like I said, hes a great teacher, but if you want an "A" or a "B" it may be easier with a different professor.
Avoid!!!!
He was a great professor. I took him on my first semester of college for general bio 1 and it was a great choice. Study the text book and do the assigments. Tests are a bit challenging but not impossible to get a good grade. He explains everything clearly and answers all questions. He was able to teach me things I previously had difficulty learning
I took him for gen bio 1 and he knows how to teach you as long as you buy into his methods. Do the study guides as those are really helpful and go to his office hours because then he can focus on specific questions. Tests are hard but if you study and pay attention you'll be fine. Overall a great professor who help you learn and pass.
There's a lot of work that needs to be done for this class. Pre/post labs, book reading, chapter homework/sample tests, quiz sample tests, test sample tests, slides on PowerPoint, example problems at home. You need to be really focused and study a lot. Tests frequently. Class averages for the first test were 58% and 69%, so good luck if you're lazy
The hardest A Ive ever had to work for, but sooo rewarding! Dr. Saad does his part and delivers amazing lectures and a lot of helpful resources, but you have to do your part too! Study hard, use the resources, and actually READ THE BOOK. Lecture exams are challenging but not impossible. Labs were so much FUN! It is challenging but YOU CAN DO IT!
I thought I hated microbiology but I actually loved it! He always replies through the line app and his office! I enjoyed labs, and his analogies. It was the most challenging class Ive taken but I learned and enjoyed it the most out of all other classes. I was nervous thinking I wouldnt be able to do good in micro but I tried my best and got a 97.
Dr. Saad is very fair, but he gives tons of homework. This class was extremely challenging, but he explains things in a way anyone can understand! He will push you to learn succeed and grow as a person. Grades are mostly from tests, which he gives a quiz or test weekly. He posts his lectures on YouTube to help you understand.
Saad is an exceptional teacher that knows his stuff. He will explain the material in ways you may not have originally thought to. YOU WILL NEED TO STUDY AND READ. He even posts his FULL LECTURES online for you to watch if you struggled the first listen through. He genuinely cares for your education and will work with you to succeed!
Dr. Saad is very knowledgeable with the subject matter. Although it is a tough class with a lot of work, he communicates very well and is always available if you have questions. If you read the book prior to lectures the class will feel much easier. Overall you get what you put into the class.
Is he a good teacher? YES. He for sure knows what he is talking about and is very passionate about science. I feel that we don't have a chance to take the time with the material and learn it before he throws another chapter on top of you. This class is not easy. If you are passionate about science, take this prof. Again, THIS CLASS IS NOT EASY!
The class is hard. You will read a lot, watch a lot of videos. The material is hard I accidentally signed up for the 6-week course so if you can do it in a long time do it. Make sure you study, read everything use all the resources he gives. Professor Saad is an excellent professor, very clear. 4 tests, 6 quizzes, and a cumulative final.
He was a great professor. He had lots of videos and other resources that helped me. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AN EASY "A" then this is not the professor to you. I worked the hardest i ever worked for a class and ended up with an 89. I learned so much from this class.
He is a great professor as far as knowing his stuff, but if you need to take this course online, avoid him by all means. Getting a good grade with this professor is nearly impossible.
Although this was the hardest class I took this semester, Dr. Saad really knew his stuff. If you're going into the Medicine/Biology field, this is your guy. I had to fight tooth and nail to get a passing grade in this class, but it was so worth it because it gave me a great foundation for the field of nursing!
This professor goes out of his way to help you if you ask.I studied basically a full 5 hours a day for 4 days straight before exams by re-doing the practice tests he provides. Even though it is tough, i know he gives the right tools to study by giving those practice exams. It is doable but you have to have the time to study. Exams are proctored.
Be prepared to put in some work ethic. All in all, if you are working full-time or occupied by something else in life, I would not recommend this class. The tests are extremely challenging, which was discouraging, considering how much time I devoted into studying.
His a tough grader, the exams are way too hard because they are worth 40%, focused in 4/5 chapter, timed, complex and long like 80 questions. The professor does not seem to care if the students are learning since at least 80% of the class failed.
Professor Saad is a good Professor; he knows his stuff and is very kind. He will give you all the resources you need to succeed. However, YOU need to do your part. I had a lot going on at the time of me taking his class so I was not able to perform the best I could. You will need to study and read for hours for the Exams. (Honorlock)
He is the best professor Ive ever had. If you actually want to learn, take him! His lectures are very helpful, and he makes complex concepts simple. If you use all of the materials provided, and give yourself time to study this class is doable! Microbiology is a tough subject in general, so use all of the resources provided to you!
The fact that this is bio and it being online makes this a challenging course. Professer Saad does care for his students but the way this class operates online is unreasonable. You have to learn the information yourself by reading the textbook and creating your own study guides. There are 5 total exams including the final each being 75 questions
Never gotten a bad grade in a class till I took this. quizes is 40% of ur grade soif u mess up even on a few assignments expect to barely pass. Test are long and contained to much info
Hes a great teacher just not online. His exams are actually very difficult. You can study the hours and even know the whole process of what youre learning in the chapter and score a 50/75 or maybe even lower. Online is not his forte. DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN FOR GEN BIO 1 ONLINE. HE WILL HURT YOUR GPA ESPECIALLY IF YOURE A FRESHMAN
You will not get higher than a C and if your one of those students who gets A's in every class count this 1 out . His Class is Extremely Difficult, and that's with understanding that MCB is a tough subject but his exams were made to precise to ever guess A-E . He called his class the one that's meant to push you to major in something else .
His lectures are awesome, but I don't agree with his testing style. You will take way too many 75-question tests for a Gen Bio class. Your test scores will outweigh all the other busywork you have to do for this class. Would not recommend this class unless you're going to med school.
Dr. Saad is a university professor teaching at a community college. His expectations and standards are at that level, and if you wish to transfer to a 4 year school, this is what to expect. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, all assignments, read beforehand and pay 100% attention in class and you can pass. if you have questions, ASK. the class IS a time suck.
Dr. Saad is a good professor, I love the way he teaches. His level is very high, so be aware that you gonna expect a lot of materials. Students who complain about him; I am sure they dont study hard.
Alright, well I must say. This class was one of the hardest I have ever taken. You HAVE to study to get a decent grade. I haven't gotten a B in school for over 2 years..Although his class has tons of resources ( youtube videos, study guides). In the end, I feel he is a great professor, he is very kind and will prepare you for the medical field 100%
If you see any bad reviews for Yasser Saad, don't believe them. This is a science class and its expected that you read and study and that's exactly what Dr. Saad prepares you for. Just study, watch his Youtube videos (those are life savers), read the textbook and you'll do great. You have to do your part and he's very understanding about things.
Micro is gonna be hard whether you like it or not. Dr. Saad is friendly and wants you to succeed. he gives a whole bunch of extra credit opportunities. If I hadn't done the extra credit I would not have passed the class. I passed with a 70.09% because I grinded on the last 2 weeks of the sem after slacking off for months lol I liked him he was cool
The bad reviews about him aren't true. He is a great teacher and understanding. You HAVE to be willing to put in time for the class or you will fail. I didn't know what to expect from this class so it was very difficult for me. Be sure to read the book and use mastering biology as much as you can to get a better understanding.
This class contains a lot of information that is necessary to learn if you want to go into the medical field so it's important to know how to study effectively. He is a very energetic and dedicated professor. He has lecture videos on YouTube which are extremely helpful for the exams.
Dr.Saad is a fantastic teacher. He gives enough time to go over lectures and study. His lessons are clear and understanding. He loves what he teaches and explains everything so well. Taking him again for Micro. Highly recommend him.Class can either be hard or easy depending on who you are.
I took him 3 years ago for general biology. I was hard working student. I got A in all science classes except his class. Now I can not apply to the Nursing program because of his bad grade C. He really destroy my dream of getting into the program. I am stuck, lost and disappointed. Please do not take him he will hurt your GPA without pity.
Don't take this professor if you have a busy life unless you want to sacrifice your social life for his class! Youtube videos take a very long time to watch before the lecture and the class is overall too difficult to do well except for the people who like stress and are willing to put a tremendous amount of effort to do well. Expects a genius.
Dr. Saad is an amazing professor. He genuinely cares about his students and their success. This is not an easy class and he knows it. He consistently reiterates that you have to work hard and study to do well in this class but he will do everything in his power to help you. Great teacher!
There are an excessive amount of study resources. attendance is enforced, consistent studying is critical yet it can be a bit much to keep up with at times. most topics are clearly explained and easy to understand, I learned a lot in this course, yet it became stressful to keep up with at times. serious and passionate about teaching.
This class will take up all your time. This class will require all your attention & studying! The exams and quiz are difficult. For the quizzes you have to write the word out and spell it correctly too! This class requires lot of memorization! You will have 3-4 lessons in one quiz. This general biology class requires too much work honestly.
Dr. Saad is one of my favorite professors at Valencia. He's understanding, cares about the success of his students, inspirational and willing to help. His lecture videos are helpful for the tests. You need to work hard to do well and take your time to review the material, but he gives you enough resources to pass the class with an A if you study.
If you are working and have a life, this class is not for you. you have to give all you time for that class. He doesn't care for the student that struggling in the class. The exam always have some questions that he did not talk about in class.
You GenBio students are gonna have a hard time in college if you think Saad is a tough professor. He's easily the best professor I've had at Valencia. The material is not difficult if you put any effort in but ultimately that's on you. Super caring and wants his students to succeed. I took him along with 4 other classes this semester and got an A.
He's a great teacher, no doubt about it. But it can get really frustrating trying to keep up with everything. I honestly feel like the class need a longer period cause we were often rushed into next sections so we can make sure we finish all the required chapters before the semester ends. I studied many times out of the week and ended up with a C.
He rearranged the class schedule many times and would try to bunch up many chapters in a 2 hr period when we started falling behind w/ the schedule. It's too much to take in all at once when you have 3 other classes you're taking. I studied long hrs and did not receive the grade(s) I expected, that can be very depressing as a hard working student.
I put my all in this class and still didn't end up with the grade I wanted but thank God I passed. He provides many resources and helps students if they ask for it. Make sure you go to him after exams are graded to review your missed questions because that can be very helpful. Overall, he's a great prof. but the class is just very challenging.
DO THE EXTRA CREDITS, it gave me about 5 extra points toward my final grade which was very helpful. You'll learn a lot of interesting, new things but it is also time consuming. You can tell the professor cares about our success. Although he's a good professor and teaches well, I would personally consider taking him for a different class.
He's a really good professor and passionate about his job. He takes one lecture exam and lecture quiz off; he provides many resources so that a student can succeed. If you take his class his lecture videos, really come in handy and everything, he says on the lecture videos is directly on the lecture exam/quiz. he also adds 2.5% of extra credit.
His teaching and the exam are two different things. The exams are difficult. He gives quiz practice that none of them will be in the exam. His class demands a lot of memorization and critical thinking.
Get ready to throw away your social life and if you are working, less chance for you to pass his class.
Dr.Saad is an amazing professor very easy to talk to too. His practice quiz are EXACTLY or close to the lecture quizzes. I barely read the textbook or studied and I still managed to get a B. But if you are studying use the powerpoint he uses during lecture and not so much the txtbook AND his yt videos are so helpful. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT !!
He was pretty great this semester. My grade went from a D after finals to a 79 C after he added all the extra credit. The textbook and what he lectures don't match. But his Exams are lecture based for the most part. Towards the end he started leaving exam info out of his lectures bc we were running out of time but he ended up curving and adding 10%
If you are a slow learner, I advised you to take a different professor. He explains well but it can be a lot to memorize.
I took Dr. Saad class several semesters ago and until this day I still think about the grade I got in his class. I'm a hard working student who get straight A's but not until I took his class. If you take him be ready to dedicate countless hours a week studying. Exams, quizzes, lecture and lab exams are heavy. Reconsider before signing up with him.
DO NOT SCROLL any further, you must register now. Dr. Saad is an exceptional professor in science which made microbio a breeze. A hilarious and caring professor cannot be beaten. As long as you focus on your labs and lectures, you will succeed. A plethora of extra credit to redeem your grade at the end of the term. You will not regret it.
Professor Saad was nice and came off as VERY knowledgeable but as a 4.0 student this class ruined my GPA. I would advise you to NOT take this class online. Exams are very difficult and with no in person instruction I feel it was almost impossible to do good on them. This was WAY harder and A&P 1 and 2 and harder than any nursing class I've taken..
Dr Saad has been an amazing teacher, yes the class is hard and you will need to dedicate a lot of time into this class to fully understand the information. Super resourceful. When he says all the answers come out of his mouth it is SO TRUE. You HAVE to pay attention to his lectures and rewatch his recorded lectures. Very caring! would take again!!
Super great at lecturing! As long as you show up, the material is understandable and he makes it easy to remember. Barely any extra credit, but he was very good with helping whenever you needed it.
don't take him!
Dr Saad is an amazing professor he explains microbiology very well! He also shares his own youtube videos you can watch and review as many times on lectures he teach in class, he gives extra credit and he drops your lowest grade. Beware this class is not a class you think you can just breeze by. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE EFFORT!
Professor Saad will be there whenever you need him, he will be more than glad to receive you during his office hours to review your exams and to receive your questions about the materials. The labs are very fun, the last 2 chapters need extra work and but the way this course is teached will make it easier and enjoyable as well as interractive.
Do yourself a favor don't take it. His class should be "Honor class."
TAKE HIS CLASS. I was very nervous about taking microbiology in general because it sounds like a very hard class. There is no textbook required but you are required to purchase a lab manual. Use his power points and softchalks to help you study the test are very similar to the material in the softchalk and power point.
Dr. Saad is a really good professor. I took both his biology and microbiology classes, and he made both courses easier than I thought they would be. Of course, you have to put the work in and study. There is a lot of reading that you have to do, so be prepared, but he provides lots of resources that are really helpful on the exams.
The exams were pretty straightforward and they were not all hard to understand. Everything comes from softchalk. Gives extra credits which can boost your grade at the end.
Although I got a C in this class it was my fault. He is an amazing professor, and as long you read and study you will pass. I ended up taking him for Micro the next semester and got an A. So as long as you do the work your set
All I can is if you plan on taking his class for micro, just be prepared. Micro is already a tough course itself... You will have to put 2x the dedication that you already have & multiply it in order to pass with an "A", nonetheless, a "C". His wordings on the lecture test makes it hard & confusing to understand, & those tests are 40% of your grade
I took this professor for biology and microbiology, that should say more than enough! If you really wanna learn this is the class, but you will have to STUDY in order to pass. The exam and lectures are pretty heavy but he is a great professor who is willing to help you understand and learn.
Professor Saad was one of the best professors I've ever had at Valencia. I liked seeing how caring he was with the students and how passionate he was in teaching microbiology. There aren't so many assignment per week but you will definitely need to dedicate a great amount of time to prepare for his class cause he demands that students participate.
Dr Saad is an amazing professor, who loves science and teaching. The class requires a lot of reading and dedication, I am not a science person, which made it very difficult for me to get the hang of it. However, with all the lectures and resources Dr Saad provides the class it becomes an "easy" class.
This class take all your time be prepared to have to ignore your other classes to focus on this one
Ignore all of the negative ratings. This is one of the best if not the best professor you could ever take. I did not take any of his Valencia classes but I did take his Molec cell class at UCF and was blown away by how much this man truly cares about his students and their success. I really hope UCF will bring him back. You can't go wrong with him!
Professor Saad is an engaging and caring instructor. The class requires dedication, but he provides plenty of resources like his own video lectures. Unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the course materials. Overall, a rewarding microbiology experience.
If you plan on taking this class, do not take any other ones. Unless you have all the time in the world, you will pass with a B if you put in a lot of work. Attendance isn't mandatory but miss one day, and youre behind. His classes are long and he uses all the time up. Every other professor was on schedule and we were always behind. Beware.
phenomenal professor, hes funny, caring, and knows his stuff. he makes learning fun and engaging and offers PLENTY of extra help if you're lagging behind. he actually teaches the material instead of just throwing the book at you. (the bar is so low in college bro) exam questions are from the quizzes, 2.5% extra credit total, lowest exam is dropped.
His lectures remind me of a theatre act with his gestures and phrases. He's a good professor but he makes you over learn. So if you really wanna learn or if your career needs it take him. If you just need this course for something else take someone else. A lot of the stuff we went through in class wasn't on the exam.
Don't listen to any negative comments. Dr. Saad is a very caring Professor. He cares for his students. As long as you put in the work you will pass his class. I took him for Gen Bio and got a C-. I could have gotten more if I had put more time into this course. TAKE HIS CLASS!!! EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES! TAKE DR. SAAD!!!. Won't regret it.
Dr. Saad is great. His lectures are really good, he has analogies and it really helps u on the exam. You also have your lowest exam dropped and 2.5 extra credit. Also there is a 5 point extra on your final if you put the gloves in the disposal bin and not the garbage bin. He's great it's just all the hurricanes messed me up.
I am making this review 2 years after I took his class, and I have to say he is the best professor I've ever had. I am studying Dietetics right now and all my biology knowledge comes from his class. He really really thought me biology and this knowledge is permanent! Amazing lectures and you will see he is absolutely committed to teaching.
Be aware that his class is very lecture heavy. Listen to what he SAYS in lecture, not just what's written on the board. Questions on exams are worded weird, emphasizes studying specific chapters (study em all equallyto do well). Lab exams are heavily lecture based as well & his pacing isn't great, but he teaches well. DO MASTERING BIOLOGY HW.
Amazing, not a big bio fan but he truly broke it all down, even on time crunches. He uses every second of your time.
Great professor! I'll say he is a great teacher. his tests are a bit confusing. He says he's not tricking you but they are challenging at times for sure. Very lecture heavy and attendance is MANDATORY!!! he will use up every minute of class time. Extra credit opportunities. Be prepared to put a lot of time in to get an A or B.
This man truly cares about Biology, he's such an amazing professor. Study for the exams and you'll pass just fine.
He's very old school teaching. He's a nice respectful professor and comes up with concepts to help you on the test. But is very lecture heavy if your able to put off with long in classroom time then yes recommended. And time is really needed in this class for studying. Consists of a quiz and an assignment for each chapter.
Great professor. Had quite a bit of homework each week but it was all manageable. Fully online and exams weren't too bad as long as you stufdy the material a bit.
This is a professor that will work with you not against you. He went out his way to round our grades up at the end of the semester along with extra credit. The class is a lot of work tho so if you don't want to study more than 4 times a week don't take him. I definitely can say I learned a lot.
He is an amazing professor, but very challenging. Beware of lab exams; they're not as easy as they sound. He's more into lab exams than pop quizzes and lecture exams. Things he says in class won't always be on the exams, especially when he goes through the chapters in class. He is a great teacher with a good heart for helping students with anything
If you have a life, dont take this class. If you have a job, dont take this class. If you enjoy your life, dont take this class. This class singlehandedly made my life more than difficult for the whole semester I took it. Maybe im just dumb but this was probably the hardest class i have every taken in my life
Dr. Saad is the best science professor I've ever had. He breaks down difficult topics effortlessly. In class and through his videos, he explains things in a way that makes you feel like reading the textbook isn't necessary. He uses examples to illustrate key points. I wish I could have Dr. Saad for all my remaining science classes. I miss him
Dr Saad is a great professor, he really is dedicated to the subject and gives great real world examples with his lectures, but if you decide to take his class, make sure you do not have anything else going on in life: it'll drain you. He will seem scary at first and nothing will change, tests will make it or break it for you, so make sure you pass.
To pass his class really watch his YouTube videos and REVEIW THE PERSON PRACTICE TESTS HOMEWORK!!! exam questions are from there and the practice questions from powerpoints. text book is required if you don't wanna just go over the powerpoints. class is hard if you are taking other hard classes pick another class or take another time he's good.
His lectures and labs are so comprehensive and clear that i leave feeling fully prepared, studying now is just a matter of review.always accessible during office hours, create supportive learning environment where questions were encouraged, lab sessions are well-organized and directly reinforced lecture material.
Dr.Saad demonstrates exceptional command of Microbiology,He has the talent for breaking down complex concepts like viral replication into digestible parts.100% recommend him if you looking for effective professor who will foster a deep appreciation for microbiology. The course under his instruction has solidify my decision to pursue a career in HC
The course is brilliantly structured as a daily discipline. We did the most part of it in class if we focus, this eliminates cramming.Because of this,i could balance this course with my job/family. Definitely recomment Dr.Saad for all your science courses. His love for Microbiology transforms the subject from a requirement to a fascination
Professor Saad is a passionate, clear, and approachable teacher. The class is tough with lots of info, so you need the textbook. My study group is super helpful and we bonded through morsning studyu sessions and lunch. Definitely a hard class, but one of the best I've ever taken.
