I tried to take his class a few quarters back. But i realized that the more he spoke the more i was confused. He even got mad when i asked him to repeat something he said because I could not understand him. I had to drop the course.

Oh my gosh I took this instructor over 2 years ago, I can't beleive he is stil teaching. He was the worst teacher I ever had. If you asked him a question he would tell you to ask at the end of class then never give you a change to ask again then spend 15 minutes lecturing on why you should not talk to him, he would single out studnets & rag on them

This is a terrible teacher. I have been a straight A student my entire life and I've never had a worse teacher ever! He's very difficult to understand (he has a very bad accent) and was rude and unhelpful. He yelled at students who didn't understand and couldn't clearly answer questions.

I did every homework assignment, studied for tests, missed one class the whole quarter, and was actually interested in the material and got an F. You can't understand a word this guy says and he's useless when it comes to help. He requires a detailed answer to every problem, which is fine, although he gets prety ridiculous. 4/5 of the class dropped

Instructor has poor people skills, contradicts himself when discussing homework and test requirements, does not clearly explain problems and is impatient when you ask questions. Will harrass students during tests. Makes excuses as to why so few people enroll in his class. He is an exceedingly poor instructor and should be avoided.

His English skills are far too poor for him to effectively teach a class in the U.S. I had to drop his class because I could not learn the material from him. He isn't very pleasant either, but the main problem is I could not understand him.

I'm a straight A student (an honors student in hs) & I doubt I could have managed a C in this class. Dropped him & took it again with a different teacher, got an A, & actually UNDERSTOOD the material. I couldn't understand him, he was rude, repetitive, demanding, & unsympathetic. Has major grammar problems. gives lectures on useless things like paper cuts.yells at people when they get the answer wrong. if you don't show your work correctly but get the answer right only get half credit. dont come tardy or he will embarrass you. gives way too much HW, like two hours a night.

Its an easy class if you have learned the material before. His lectures are extremely hard to understand, since his English is pretty bad. I do not recommend him to anyone, who do not have a strong background in math.

He can be very difficult to understand, and several times while solving a problem on the board he came up with the wrong answer. He told us to "find where he made his mistake". His class is the center of the universe, doesn't get along well with students.

The worst teacher I've ever taken at De Anza. He's very hard to understand because of his bad English, seems constantly angry/confused and unpleasant, and berates students who are struggling to learn in the class. His grading system makes no sense, and makes the subject harder than it needs to be. Honestly, Yatman Auyoung needs to be fired.

He spends more time talking about how he wants his homework turned in and presented than teaching. His Final Exam review was about 20 minutes long; he spent the other 90 minutes talking about NOTHING. Expect 2 hours of homework a day and a lot of frustration. I actually lost points on quizzes for solving problems as shown in the book. Yup!!

Officehours are only 15 minutes before class and scolds those who fail and tells them to come to his office hours. office hours are no help . ridiculous teacher. gets sidetracked on numerous occastions. speaks to students as if their stupid.

He usually gives students lots of homework, and even you do a good job, you will never receive a good grade. Also, you have to use ONLY his approaches, otherwise you wont earn credit.He speak with a heavy accent, and it's hard to understand what he says. He is the worst instructor in the whole world. Having Yatman as a teacher was the bigest mistake I've ever made. He doesnt clarify anything he teaches and if you ask him to, he will ridicule your ability to learn. I repeatedly asked for help through emails and each time I was poited out by Yatman as a student that "does not care". He is impossible to please. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Out of all the teachers and professors in my school career, Yatman Auyoung easily wins as the worst teacher I've encountered. A simple question for clarification has led multiple times to ridicule and unnecessary and literally 20 minute lectures on the syllabus. He treats everyone like a high school student. One of the worst professors I have ever had. Spends 95% of class time lecturing students about seating arrangements & 5% actually teaching something. He gets angry if you correct his mistakes & lectures you if you ask any sort of question. He does not answer anything straight forward. Whatever you do, do not take his class.

I have a hard time doing this, he is a nice person out of class but he really shouldn't be a professor. I felt stupid asking questions and wasted a quarter since all other classes were filled after dropping his class. If you already know stats and just need to fill requirements, show up, and do the homework/practice there.

Nice outside of class but extremely difficult to work with. He calls you out/gets upset if you miss a class, leave early, or are late. He cares about his students & wants everyone to pass, BUT makes it nearly impossible to do so. Save yourself the trouble, find a different prof.... unless you don't mind learning absolutely everything on your own
