best teacher ever!! He was the first teacher i took at pierce and he was amazing! too bad not all my teachers are like him. Overall there were 3 speeches we have to give and two tests (a final and a midterm) both are multipal choice. Great teacher... TAKE HIM!!

Great professor who is understanding and helpful. He actually responds quickly to emails and also accommodates for you by sending/accepting assignments by email if you happen to miss class. He is able to maintain a friendly/involving classroom where many people can get nervous. He grades fair and is courteous to every student.

This is the best professor you will ever have at pierce. the class is easy to pass, but start doing your speeches on time to have enough time to reherase. You will never feel embarrased in his class. Mr. D is so helpful. If you do the work you will get an A in his class.

I'm still in the class so I can't tell you about how he grades yet. So when I say he's easy it's because he makes it easy. He gives a lot of feedback and helps encourage people who are afraid to speak in front of crowds. He tries to create a comfortable environment. The powerpoints can be a little tedious at times, but they help a lot for tests

Omg I know I shouldn't say this but OMG I fell in love with my professor. He is gorgeous, charming, smart, and has a great personality. He is a great professor. He is willing to help and explain. He is fair and very encouraging, he also his positive feedback. He is very understanding. I ADORE HIM.

I respect Mr. D. Mr. D. is fair. Mr. D rewards those that actually do the work. Mr. D does not tolerate immaturity in the classroom. Mr. D is up to date with today's teaching techniques. Mr. will go out of his way for a student in need. Ray loves Mr. D

Honestly, i have never met such a polite and understanding professor than this guy. He persuaded nothing but courage to students who were scared of presenting, kept the class entertained for 5 weeks and filled my brain with knowledge without boring me. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU WANT TO LEARN, WHILE HAVING A GOOD TIME.

i strongly recommend this class ESPECIALLY during an intersession. its easy, lots of fun, and he's cute too. during intersession theres only 3 speeches and 2 tests. i didnt crack the book open for the tests and got a B+

engaging, makes speech fun, and is interesting. Answers his email quickly and is nice. He grades fairly and as long as you listen and follow the book, you will do well. Overall, good teacher.

Really Great professor. One of those teachers that makes going to class enjoyable. Tends to let you out of class early unless it is a speech day. He is Really helpful. Make sure you follow the structure of the speech outlines otherwise you loose easy points.-- I was REALLY dreading speech but he actually made it enjoyable.

Young professor that's always trying to lighten the mood with jokes. Midterm and final are a breeze if you just memorize all the definitions. I dreaded this class but it ended up being great! I got an A.

Prof Davoodian really wants to inspire his students, he KNOWS that speech isn't the most fun class to take and tries to make it a relaxing environment versus embarrassing everyone BUT I do have to say, I work my but off for an A so even if you aren't great a giving speeches you CAN still get an A

Prof Davoodian , is the best i was afraid of taking Speech because im not one that likes to talk in fron of people. He makes you feel real comfortable. Hes very nice and super funny. two exams for the semester I would recomend him.

Public speaking is very difficult for me, but with Davoodian's encouragement and my awesome classmates' support I was able to get through it. Professor Davoodian is energetic about what he's doing and he makes a difficult subject easy.

Honestly, I must admit, this man has talent! His public speaking skills are beyond amazing. Like where the hell did he get all his knowledge. He grades a little critically on his speeches. Do the outlines EXACTLY as he says! Overall wonderful class! =)

if you think the professor is a joke then you dont know what college is about. i'd rather have an energetic professor instead of one who is boring. you seem to have a problem with with him or speech classes. you're college and not in high school. i got a "b" in class and got over my speech anxiety.

I never thought I'd be able to finish a speech class. He's an amazing teacher. Gets the class comfortable with each other, making it easier to go up on speech days. Helps you choose topics, 3 speeches 1 midterm and a written final. I'd recommend everyone to take his class!

SCH A FUN CLASS! Prior to taking the class, I was so afraid of speaking in front of an audience. Professor Davoodian has taught me so much about speech to make me comfortable in front of an audience when speaking in front of a crowd. He's amazing! Best Speach Teacher @ Pierce. I Highly Recomend You take his class for speach even if u are afraid of piblic speaking. You have 3 Speaches and 2 multi choice test one for the midterm and i for the final. for my class he didn't make us even do our third speech. instead we had a pot luck event!

Cool Prof. He was very relaxed and made the class a lot of fun. It wasn't a lot of work. He stressed the importance of public speaking and made it obvious that it is a skill we need... Fun class.

Im currently in mr. davoodian's class and this was a class i did not want to take but have to. I've learned a lot and actually enjoy class. he is tough but if you do the work (we are in college and have too). I guess the two comments below are from people who need a little bit of a push or dont understand college what it means.

Funny and Interesting. Well spoken. Clear and easy to understand. Assignments are straight forward and he grades fairly. Show up, Do the Work, and Take notes. Midterm and Final are basic to the point straight from notes. No need to purchase book if you attend class and take notes or no need to attend class if you purchase book and study it.

Best professor! I had anxiety when public speaking and this professor helped me get out of it! Very understanding and knowledgable, not only about speech, but everything! Best teacher I've ever had by far. When I started I was shy and never thought I was any good at public speaking, but by the end of it I felt very confident. I always looked forward to going to class. I received an A. He always cracks jokes and keeps the class alive. I highly suggest this class.

Super cool guy, winter session = 2 speeches (not like an essay, just based on stuff you can think of on the spot). Thought I was going to get a B because of the final but got an A, so it's not hard to pass. Do the hw!!!

He is so helpful and you only take a midterm and a final and do 3 speeches in total. Plus, he has exercises which help you get use to being in front of class. Loved it! Great Professor! I'm so glad I took his class. He gives good feedback on your presentations. He is really sweet and very caring. 3 speeches and two tests. I never used the textbook, but still passed with an A. I just studied off of the power points he posts online, although he doesn't really suggest just studying from the power points.

He is probably the nicest teacher I've ever had. I had a pretty tough semester, and he was still very understanding and helpful. His tests are not tough, and the speeches are nice, because they are fast. Just practice the speech and you should pass this class with an A+. He is very nice!! I highly recommend him!

Took this class during summer session and really enjoyed his teaching style. His projects allowed you to have fun and be creative. Preparation for speeches are a MUST! I would take another class with him again. Stay on top of the readings, take lecture notes and participate and you should do well!

I can not speak more highly of a professor than professor Davoodian. He's friendly, helpful, clear about grading and always at his office hours. Took him for Communications 151 in spring 2015, group and I wish I would've taken more classes with him.

He was a pretty easy teacher, if you do all the assignments and participate once in a while you're solid. Practice your speeches, even if you mess up he's very understanding. The tests are okay, just pay attention during the lectures.

Hands down he's the best professor. Lectures aren't that bad. Delivering speeches can be a bit nerve wrecking but he's understanding. Appreciate how he made the class environment feel at ease. He also thinks he's funny because he's a Gemini. Overall really enjoyed this class and recommend him.

Wow! If you're scared and really feel that college is too hard because of presentations, then take professor Davoodian , he not only works at your pace he tells how to practice and guides your improvement. He is one of the greatest teachers on campus and got rid of my speaking struggle. You do take two test but they arent hard just read and be fine

Professor Davoodian is a great professor, this is my second time taking him once for COM 101 and now I took him for COM 104. I actually looked forward to his class, he is very chill and I guarantee you that the speech presentations are really easy. Would take him again with no doubt.

Let us address the elephant in the room, yes you will talk a lot in this class. Yes, there is some test in the class as well. However, the approach by this professor is so clean that even if you have fright to talk his teachings will guide you to have a bit more confidence. Not a tough grader and he really excels in his positivity towards you.

Professor Davoodian is probably THE BEST professor at Pierce college. I enjoy going to his every single time. He is very helpful, understanding, clear on what he wants for his speeches, and hilarious. It's 3 main speeches overall and some lectures which you get tested on for the midterm and final(very easy). Take his class, you won't regret it!

Easiest class ever. You literally get into groups and make power points and join one club that you barely have to attend. I definitely recommend this class. He keeps the class interesting and you'll make friends in your groups. Just be prepared to present power points in front of the class. Easy A.

He's wonderful! He keeps class moving at a nice pace. He is enthusiastic, intelligent and brings up interesting topics throughout lectures. I am takig him durring a summer intersession and highly reccomend him as a professor. He's also young and hip to what's going on in student culture and he's got a great sense of humor.

Davoodian is an incredible instructor. He truly cares about his students and the collegiate community at Pierce. Exams -very straight forward. Take lecture and scan the little book and you'll be fine. I bought the additional book spiral at the bookstore but you could easily get away with not buying it and asking someone if you could make copies.

Thought there could be better ways to learn the material, so for midterm and final, you really do have to read the book to get an A. However, there are a lot of assignments that can make up for an A in the class. Whenever, there is conflict in your designated group, he is more than willing to help! He is really caring!

SUPER AWESOME! Supportive and encouraging. 3 speeches and two tests. If you takes notes during his lecture slides you can easily pass exams. MOST of the content is common sense or content you have learned from life. I'd recommend him 1,000 times even if you fear public speaking. Attendance not strict but mandatory for speeches.

Took him for a group communication studies class. He does not keep track of your attendance, but he does randomly assign easy in class assignments to reward the students that show up. He is a really chill professor, just show up to class and do the work with your groups and there is honestly no reason why you should get anything lower than an A.

Definitely an amazing professor, I would recommend anyone to take him. Has a great teaching method, takes things step by step. He truly cares for his students overall.

Overall a great professor, easy grader. He also has clear grading criteria. Most of the information on the exams and quizzes is found in the textbook as well as the powerpoints he uploads. Aside from that the videos that are a part of the lectures also help. There are two exams, one paper, multiple quizzes and multiple discussions. LOTS OF WORK!

Took Comm151 online which included 12 short discussion posts and a quiz to follow, Midterm and Final. Allows small extra credit. Very adept and supportive along the course and answers emails promptly. Put the effort in and you'll get an A. Easy grader and if you fail the Midterm or Final you can make up for it with the Final Paper.

He is the best teacher, very personable. I took him for comm 101 and the only things that were graded were a few speeches and a midterm and final which are all things covered in class.

I took this class online and finished everything in 3 weeks. It was super easy. 12 discussions, quizzes, midterm and final. They were all really easy. I needed the textbook mainly for discussions. Never really looked at his slides but i guess I didn't need them. I just took a couple weekends to complete the entire class. Final paper was easy.

Easy, interesting class and he responds to Canvas messages quickly.

Easy A. Just make sure youre on top of the discussions and quizzes because late quizzes will really hurt you. But other than that he was a really nice professor, responded quickly to messages, and the material wasnt too hard because of material given to succeed.

I took Professor Davoodian my first semester at Pierce for public speaking. He creates an atmosphere that makes it easy to communicate. He genuinely cares about his students. I had a rough time getting by the semester due to personal reasons and he took the extra step and guided me to resources that I needed, and helped me finish the semester!

He is very thorough and gives good feedback. The course is precisely laid out in the syllabus. Easy grader.

Seriously there easiest class. Can't recommend him enough. Do it online. Easiest A ever. Every module is just a discussion (answer is in the book - he provides the book) & then an easy quiz. 100% on pretty much everything. Do it!!!

One of the best professors I ever had! I took his honors class during winter although we had to read and participate in group discussions I really enjoyed the class. This class was an easy A! Take him!

Professor Davoodian is very caring and wants his students to learn. He is fair and makes learning fun. He was very straightforward in what he expected and created an environment to excel in if you put in the work. I very much enjoyed learning about small group communication from him.

Just take him all you have to do is a few discussions, a couple of open-book quizzes, and one easy paper at the end, you will need the book though however, u can use one of the older versions.

Class was an easy A. He has an excellent sense of humor and if flexible. Participation is highly encouraged and makes the class much more interactive.

The best almost EVERYONE passed it with a 100%. He gives you the whole week to work on the assignments, they are due at midnight on Sundays. He also responds in less than an hour. He is caring, understanding n the work is really easy. He makes it really enjoyable to be in his class even online. TAKE him the review abt him are true you won't regret.

This prof is the best one out there! He had clear grading criteria and the class itself did not have a heavy workload. As long as you keep up with the work, the class is actually very therapeutic. He made me enjoy communications, which was something I never thought I would like. He is super caring and is an easy grader. Take him while you can!!!

Only 2 exams and a few speeches. I was worried about the speeches at first but he made it a safe space with his feedback and reaffirmed that you can do it. Participation matters as well he wanted all of us to sometimes work together just to talk to one another. Would 100% recommend it!!

He us genuinely the best professor ever this was my first semester of college and i was honestly so happy to have him as an intro into college life although i know its not going to stay like that its a great start we had 3 speeches and 2 of them were literally our own thoughts he's and entertaining teacher who lives to joke but also still teaches

Class is easy if you do the 3 speeches, midterm & final. He is clear about what he is looking for & how he frames exam questions. Often goes on tangents during lectures. Provides good feedback on the speeches. Some of the exam material we never went over in lecture or in the textbook. Hoped for more practice delivering speech in front of audience

This is my first year at Pierce. Hands down the best professor I've had. Lectures and class discussions are always light hearted and fun. Really light on HW. Prof. D is very flexible and responds to emails quickly. I greatly improved my public speaking and enjoyed the class. I highly recommened Prof. D, and would take him again given the chance.

Midterm, Final, & 3 Speeches w/ LOTS of help. As long as you show up, take the notes, and listen you're all good. No homework and Prof. D teaching is very entertaining! Gives amazing and helpful feedback on all speeches and provides ALL study material for both final and midterm :) 10/10 would recommend any class with Prof Davoodian!

Very easy and understanding when i was not able to attend to class for a couple weeks. class is very easy as long as you pay attention to the lecture and what he says.

Honors Comm 151 - I took it for winter so it was a quick class, but the work was not overwhelming at all. He says you need the textbook, but he does provide a supplemental source if you can't get it, but the power points were very helpful. Quizzes, midterm, and final. Final paper which was not too long, interesting prompt.

Professor Davoodian has to be one of my favorite teachers. He's very caring and will help you with anything even if it's outside Comms. Do your best on the tests and speech outlines to get a good grade. You must study to pass since the speeches are fairly easy but the tests are a heavy part of your grade. Please take him, you won't regret it!

I had him for Fall of 2022 and let me just say that this class is a good starter on your first year in college. He is such a great Prof, very funny and caring to his students. I would take his class again (if I can but I surely will). Pay attention to the stuff key terms he mentions on Lectures they are gonna be on the exam!! Take his class.

Prof Davoodian is amazing!he is so nice and caring. His class is very easy and straight forward! Some easy quizes,discussions,speeches and outline papers. As long as you follow up his instructures you can rasily get full credit for all. Easy class with no pressure.highly recommand him.

He is the best! He doesn't like lengthy answers. Follow his instructions and you will be fine. The class was great. He is very professional and would make you attend informative online events about the Department of Communication for extra credits. I learned so much more from the class than from some extremely lecture-heavy courses I have taken.

Easiest class you can ever take. Professor Davoodian is funny, caring, and an easy grader. He actually cares about helping you improve in giving speeches. Wouldn't take the class again, but would love to have him as a professor again.

He is hilarious and I loved him as one of the first professors I had at the school. There are three main speeches you have to do so when he passes out the speech outline, type it out on your laptop and keep it blank, I did that and so every time we got a speech assigned, I made a duplicate of the document and just filled it in with the topic assign

Great professor. Takes the time to connect with students and advocates for the class to build relationships. This class is as easy as you make it. Listening, reading, and understanding the material is what makes this class easy. Professor Davoodian is transparent on what you are being graded on, so you are not suppressed with your grades.

Prof Davoodian's class was pretty straightforward. He has you present yourself, giving different types of recorded speeches. Outlines of the speech given are turned in at the same time. Following his rubric, you should get total points on each speech. Quizzes are based on the book, but he also gives you PowerPoint slides to review. Easy to email

Truly a great professor, he takes the time to engage with his students and what they have to say. Take him if you can!

If you get the chance, take this professor for COMMS. The class is enjoyable and very easy. Would 100% take this professor again. The midterm and exam did require studying for a good grade

Taking Prof. Davoodian's Honors class was one of the highlights of my semester. Coursework and lectures are very easy to follow. Prof. D, really shows he cares for his students, (accommodations too). You get graded by a few assignments (Midterm/final and speeches). His lectures are pretty interesting and funny! He is cool and gives free candies! :)

Prof. Davoodian's class is a breeze. Engaging lectures, helpful feedback, and a straightforward workload. unstuckstudy was a game-changer for speech prep. Highly recommend this class!

Take him! I took his class over the winter and it was great. I had another winter class and I didn't have to worry about this class as much as the other one. I would take him again!

Amazing professor

great professor. class is graded off weekly discussions and quizzes, as well as one research essay at the end of the semester. honestly easy and very doable, and was chill to take alongside harder classes.

Take this class. He makes sure every student feels respected and heard. He also makes lectures entertaining, and he is just a really great professor.

So so happy I ended up taking his class. What he wanted was clear and laid out; he was kind, and you could see him during his office hours for assistance. Not to mention, genuinely funny! He also offers great advice for college in general, as he is very knowledgeable and involved on campus. Take him!

Super easy class the tests are easy and you only have to do like 3 speeches. Take him!!
