His accent is so thick. He's not the best teacher because he just gets so flustered. He also like math-based Econ, rather than just theory-based Econ.
he does not go according to the book and he expects the students to have a very strong background in calculus, which is not a pre-requisite for the course. he is a nice person, but he does not understand where his students are holding and what their expectations for an intro course are.
I'm dying in this "introductory" microeconomics class. I'm "learning" more advanced calculus in my econ class than in my calculus class, and I've never taking calc before, so I'm absolutely drowning. He's a really nice guy, but I can't follow anything he does in class and his expectations are super crazy high. How can anybody succeed in this class?
This class is HORRIBLE. Kocer's lectures are totally unorganized and rarely teaches the CONCEPTS of microeconomics. Each class is pretty much going over one or two math problems, and somehow that translates into teaching an ENTIRE CHAPTER of econ. So unless you already have a strong background in Micro and/or calculus DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
This class is horrible. Avoid it. I came into this class with the expectation that it would be a BASIC introductory ECON course. I never knew that I signed up for a calculus lecture. Even students with a strong math background are challenged in this class. Concept-based economics is minimal. Avoid this class if possible.
Everyone who commented negatively just isn't using all of the tools professor kocer is giving us. He gives you every opportunity to succeed. His study guide was really thorough, MANY people got As! he's even giving an optional midterm! yes...the math is dense-but I'm learning a lot! isnt that the point? (oh and hes not flustered-youre slow)
I think those math problems are helpful for Econ major students. There's not much homework. And the professor is a patient and nice guy.
Professor Kocer is a great teacher! He expects a lot but I am learning more in this class than any other class I have taken in school. I will def take another of his classes again if he teaches something else!
ok the ppl complaining on here prolly havent even tried to approach professor kocer! he is so nice. he cares whether you understand sthg or not. its the TAs who dont give a (flute...tehee). kocer roxxx
he is sooooo freekin smart gosh! im hoping that if i listen in class i can absorb some smartiness. :P its really cool that he cares if we learn or not.
IF YOU ARE NOT AN ECON MAJOR DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! if you are an econ major.... THEN.. you are in the right place =) you will learn soo much. i hear the higher level classes taught at usc are easier so youll just be better off. hes way too noce tho. i dont think art majors should get a 2nd midterm--im not taking a flippin pottery class n crying
Hes a rly good teacher. highly recommend! He is fair. He will go over your test with you and make sure u understand. u can also contest ur grades and he is generous. very friendly guy
The most important aspect is that Professor Kocer completely ignores that his class is not filled with Econ Majors. Many of the students do not have a Calculus background, and I have taken CALC AB and am still struggling. Kocer merely teaches the math but ignores much theory. Horrible teacher, I highly recommend you do not take.
professor kocer is such a good teacher! his lessons are very clear. the class is challenging, most people complaining arent studying enough. If you do the study guides then you will do well. hes giving an optional midterm too! hes teaching me so much.i will definitely take his classes in the future. highly rec
this class is really good. he uses real life examples to illustrate things. he always has graphs to go along with the math which really helps. the class isnt boring like other math classes i have taken. i recommend it
hes realllly smart. im learning a lot.
I really hate giving him a bad rating. He is a really nice guy, but so many students are struggling in the class. I understand the math, and I am not doing too poorly in the class, but this is because I have taught myself the information. He still needs some practice teaching. It's his first year, and he gets side tracked a lot.
Kocer is a very nice guy and he tries very hard to reach out but he is still very new at teaching. He has a great deal of potential, but for now the class makes no sense. His slides are straight out of the book but the tests don't coordinate. Overall, if you're self motivated, you'll survive, but chances are you won't enjoy it.
I don't understand why people are saying he's a bad teacher...he's totally not. I think the people who don't understand him are stupid. what did you expect from a college econ class? to slide through without studying!? i mean-you can go to his office anytime and he takes great lengths to help out. he gives a 2 midterms that you can have the better
great class! great prof! highly recommended!
he is really helpful and takes time to explain things in detail. He sometimes covers extra material that is not in the book.
Kocer needs to stop giving himself reviews on here. In all of my time at USC, this is the worst class. Tests and class don't correlate at all. I've had to teach myself the majority of the information. He is somewhat willing to help, but clarity is lacking. Would not recommend this professor at all. Avoid this class like the plague.
He's not as bad as most of the people are saying, but he's also not that great. The main issue I had was that his tests didn't seem to match up with his lessons. I had to get a lot of my information from the text. He gave 3 midterms, we all dropped one score, and then we had a final. No homework or any other assignments.
Let me start off by first saying that he is a very nice person. With that said, this is the worst class you could possibly take. Lectures do NOT correlate to the tests. He gets off tangent and explains things in a way to tedious way, and his accent makes him all the more harder o understand. AVOID THIS CLASS.
Knowledgeable and helpful
Extremely difficult course. Take Mangum instead. Tests are difficult and do not correlate with the class material. TAs are of no help.
Honestly just read the book, do the practice problems that he assigns, and USE THE ONLINE PRACTICE PROBLEMS!! he pulls some of those questions to use on his tests. the class ends up being curved at the end most of the time. i never went to lecture and i did fine. hes a nice guy, just hard to understand/disorganized.
AVOID THIS CLASS< HE IS USELESS and is one of the worst teacher, almost made me want to switch my major
This is just a really sad course. He is not dropping any exam this semester and exam averages are embarrassingly low. Avoid this class.
Yilmaz is an okay teacher, but he teaches literally straight from the book, and the book explains things much better than him. Use the online coupling with the book, which he puts lots of study questions on, to study.
Nice guy, but miserable, terrible, horrible professor.
This is without a doubt the hardest class I have ever take. AVOID IT, very nice guy but he is lost, his TA's are worse. I have to teach my self and he even says that he accidentally gives out harder midterms and finals. JUST AVOID!
Horrid. Unclear. Don't go to class. Just study from the book.
Don't take this class. HORRIBLE. Worst class in my life.
The WORST CLASS AT USC! Waste of time. It says intro but has no intro material. It is a waste of time i learned absolutely nothing in this class! He's barely curving grades and you know there is something wrong when the class average is lower than 60%.... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Class Average for all midterms were less than 60%..Lectures were pointless, didn't learn anything, but he was really open to helping students do better. Probably less than a quarter of the students show up to lecture, but I say it's also the students' fault that they don't study the material
Class is useless, literally only went to class for the tests and got a B+. just repeats the book in a boring way and wastes time. Need to be able to self study to do well.
He is hard to understand. The questions in his test are hard to understand. If you read, you will pass. Overall below average teacher.
He is honestly a nice professor. If you have questions about any of of the material he will do his best to answer your, BUT his lectures are very, VERY difficult to understand, and the TA's are the same. Take this class if you are good at learning on your own and just show up for tests(I did, got an A-). Other econ profs are strict on attendance.
Let me be straight by saying Professor Kocer is a nice and intelligent guy. With that said he simply can't teach. He is extremely unorganized with his lesson plan and always seems to have no structure for class. Furthermore, he never answers questions with 100% clarity and is hard to understand. Tests are tough but if you teach yourself your fine.
Unclear. Tests do not correlate to material taught in class. Hard to understand. Extremely boring lectures.
He is a very nice, helpful and careful professor. He explains well in class but book is important also. If you don't read, you won't pass. Reading and paying attention in class combines well together. Tests can be difficult sometimes. But if you do study and continue to put effort into the course, you will do well and find most of the test easy.
Kocer is very clear about what is required of you and will post all the lecture notes online. That being said, the lectures are useless. The textbook will teach you all the material in the course. The only grading criteria are exams. No homework at all.
The post below had it spot on: Unclear. Tests do not correlate to material taught in class. Hard to understand. Extremely boring lectures. The only good thing is he understands this is not a required course, so the overall grading is somewhat lenient. I got 65% on midterm and 50% on final, and wrote an average paper that in the end got me a C.
Yilmaz sometimes might explain a little bit too hard. Lectures are hard to understand but if you go ask him during office hours it would really help. Averages for the 2 midterms were 53 and 57 out of 100, so tough class. He was very lenient on the grading for the final paper though. But he is a very, very nice person and really tries to help you.
Behavioral Econ is a tough class. That said, Yilmaz made it enjoyable. He was always willing to help students. Most days only 30% of the class would show up but he would still help those people when it came to grading their tests easier. If you put a lot of effort into studying and going to lectures, you should be fine.
Yilmaz makes intro econ classes bearable with his great sense of humor. He's also very helpful if you come in for office hours to get help on problem sets or tests. His problem sets are WAY harder than his tests. His tests were kind of all over the place, the first midterm was super easy, the second one was really hard, and the final was in between
While professor Kocer makes his class challenging-if you want to Get a real education from an expert-his class is not to be missed. He is kind and patient and willing to spend time with you. He is excited and passionate about his work. He will give you the keys to a leg up in the competition and teach practical applications to economic theory.
This dude gives an enormous amount of information, most of which is not useful on any exams, quizzes, or homeworks. I began the semester going to lectures but soon realized I was better at reading the textbook and teaching myself. One of the least clear classes I have taken at SC. Find a different professor.
His 303 course is challenging and problem based, but he is very knowledgeable and passionate and cares about providing a really solid understanding of micro theory. He also makes himself available outside of class often, which was super helpful during the online semester. Lectures are fast paced, so it's necessary to read the textbook in detail.
I'm not good at Econ, but Prof. Yilmaz is a good guy who tries really hard to make sure you succeed. The homework is worth a lot so that helps your grade, and there's a grade-saving assignment at the end of the class too. He's available outside of class to sit with you and make sure you understand. Recommended for anyone taking 303.
Kocer is clearly very knowledgeable when it comes to economics but he is simply not cut out for teaching. From the first class it is clear that he is very smart and also very caring about teaching and about his students. However, he's not good at it. As much as he tries he simply can't communicate the material. I see no reason to take his class.
I can not justify just how awful of a teacher and class this is. He does not teach during lecture, he rambles about qualitative unrelated examples. Hw is graded on ACCURACY through third party website which is bad since he doesn't teach how to do the actual math. He is an embarrassment to education and the TA's don't know the material and cant help
He is the nicest professor ever! I was doing bad on his tests (my classmates did good job and the average is pretty high) but I would never regret taking his class!! PEOPLE YOU SHOULD TAKE HIS CLASS!! I rated 4 for the level of difficulty but it's just difficult for me.
Friendly and cares about the topic, but extremely difficult to follow the lectures. Online textbook gives very time consuming assignments (graded by accuracy) which questionably serve as decent practice/study resource for the 3 tests. Good chance you'll have to teach yourself the material. Save time, stress, and energy; there are better professors.
Exams, homework, and quizzes are tough but graded fairly with a lot of partial credit. Material is sort of difficult but the course's workload is manageable, you won't need to devote more than a couple hours of study to this class every week. Prof. Kocer responds to emails almost immediately and holds office hours before any HW due date or exam.
Probably the nicest professor I've had in the ECON dept, but one of the worst teachers as well. He talks so fast and often rambles off topic so he's difficult to follow in lectures, and doesn't teach the steps to the actual math that the material covers, and the math is a huge part of this class so that was a problem all semester for everyone.
Professor Kocer is a very nice and understanding person, and from my understanding, extremely knowledgeable in his field. However, he is not a great teacher. In lectures, Professor Kocer glosses over the foundational topics and then spends a while talking about topics beyond the scope of the class. Content on homework vs tests do not always match.
Showed up to class maybe four times this semester, and got an A. He teaches directly from the textbook, and as you can read in other ratings his lectures are not the most helpful. However he is great outside of class, if you have a specific question. Take his class if you are good at self studying; stay out of it if you depend on the lecture.
Professor Kocer is a chill guy who's loves what he teaches. It was an interesting course; the exams are a little harder than what you learn in class. and the homework is weighted pretty heavy so take the time for that. You don't really need to go to the lectures if you have a good grasp of the reading.
The exams did not cover material that was equivalent to the level of difficulty presented in the assignments. Exams had way lower median scores and averages compared to other ECON 203 courses.
Prof Kocer is a very jovial and interesting man. While his lectures did come from the slides associated with the textbook, he would always try to explain in further detail complicated topics. His tests were fair, and he gave plenty of review material before the tests. Some of the online homework did take a second, however,
Terrible professor. I believed that at USC I would get teachers who knew what they were doing, however, he doesn't teach at all. It's constant rambling about the subject without any explanation and nothing concrete. Do not take this class with him.
A good portion of this class is spent on microeconomics review, so it is a great class to take as a first econ class at USC, but if you want to focus more on the policy aspect, this class might not be for you. Professor Kocer is very nice, and super accessible outside of class, as he somehow manages to respond to emails almost instantly.
His ECON 303 class is definitely harder than the other professors teaching it but he is also a great teacher. There are a lot of different components to your grade so ensure you ace the problem sets and quizzes as the mid-terms and finals can be difficult. Practicing the exercises and questions he gives you is a must to do well in the class.
This class was overall pretty difficult. Having frequent quizzes and 2 midterms helped to prepare for the cumulative final. He responds to emails quickly and will even provide explanations with examples about specifics questions if you ask. Studying past quizzes exams and homework helped to prepare for exams. Curve and homework helped final grade.
Really nice professor, super accessible outside of class. Tests were generally quite tough, and you kinda have to rely on the curve.
Professor Kocer is incredibly caring and devoted to helping his students succeed, always being available outside of lectures. His lectures are for the most part engaging, being somewhat boring and abstract at times. The real challenge of this class comes with the grading which is significantly harder than other 303 classes.
Professor Kocer is a great professor to take this class with, his lectures are incredibly interesting and really engaging. The class overall is not very challenging, and less work than many other Econ electives.
Great professor who made ECON lectures not boring somehow. The textbook is very expensive but is necessary because all of the assignments are there. The exams were a lot more difficult compared to the textbook problems. If you can survive the exams with a passing grade, then you should be alright
Prof. is a nice guy, but this class was very difficult and frustrating. Lectures are based on a textbook, so they're hard to sit through and meander w/o a lot of concrete examples for difficult concepts. Homework is extremely tedious but is weighted heavily, so ultimately it helps a lot since the tests are pretty brutal.
Prof. Kocer is really nice and understanding about his students. Although his lectures are long and detailed, the homework assignments are easier than what is tested on. He does give you enough time to complete the homework but it still doesn't help too much when it comes to the exams. The exams are much MUCH harder than what is studied in class.
I can definitely say that Professor Kocer was the most difficult econ professor I have taken at USC, HOWEVER, he is very kind and caring and cares a lot about his students which is rare in the econ department. I did not have a solid math background (which is necessary for 303) but he worked a lot with me outside of class. Very nice and recommend.
Yilmaz is a very caring teacher and knowledgeable in his field. He is always accommodating and open to helping students during office hours. However, the online homework assigned is extremely time-consuming, and his exams are being very difficult and too long. Overall a pretty difficult class, especially for an intro class.
He's probably the worst professor you can have in the Econ department. Avoid him at all costs. His lectures are so useless, and he's horrible at explaining things. The class was very math heavy and he would never solve these problems in real-time or go through the steps. He would just project the answer key and talk uselessly. AVOID.
He is such a kind professor, but I had a hard time learning from him. I dozed off during lectures because he rambled A LOT. He lost my attention and I had to teach myself most of the concepts. However, your grade is dependent on a lot of things so there's some leeway for that.
Yilmaz is a very frenetic professor that gives little to no guidance. The course is extremely math heavy, and when he goes through example questions and problem sets in class he fails to explain how he uses each formula, missing crucial steps. The tests and problem sets rarely reflect the level that is demonstrated in lecture, with low averages.
Extremely harsh grading
Econ 395 was one of my favourite classes. Proffesor Yilmaz is a decent teacher and the class is fairly easy if you go to the lectures and practice the problems he gives. His exams were fairly intuitive and mostly covered the class problems. He is extremely caring and I had the chance to chat with him after class and he seemed super nice.
Yilmaz is a nice and caring professor. Flexible with deadlines. Attend the course and you will be fine. Homework is sometimes hard, but the grader is really nice. Tests, from my perspective, are not quite hard as long as you understand the mechanisms of the same type of questions.
Very interesting and clear lectures. Need some hard work, but it pays off easily. More importantly, he is probably the most accessible and caring professor in the econ department. Just do your work and it will be fine. The raw grade may be low but he curves up so much. Don't understand why he receives so many 1s.
Accesible prof outside of class, however lectures might not always cover bulk of material This class is lecture heavy, and homework and exams make up bulk of grade
He's a helpful & understanding professor who cares a lot about his student's learning & circumstances, His lectures are confusing, which is why he gets the bad ratings. To deeply understand the content, you must learn most of the information independently, like reading the textbook & doing PS. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS & ask Qs; it's super helpful!
His lectures are almost incomprehensible because he throws so much information out at once without explaining it. The homework is always so different from the example problem you go over in class and I used the book for each hw, but it doesn't help much because the questions are so different. He seems like a nice guy and curves up though.
The tests are a lot harder than the homework, and the multiple choice are not easy so be warned. I found the practice problems really difficult but still easier than the exam itself. I also found his lectures difficult to keep up with. That being said, he is a really nice person.
Yilmaz is actually a really sweet man and made the subject matter pretty digestible. Class wasn't too bad until the final. Probably the most disgusting/heinous/terrible exam I've ever taken in my life. I pray that the curve kicks in. Go to office hours and take notes in lecture. This is NOT your ECON 203 class with Pinto.
Tests were not that hard if you went for lectures and did the practice questions. Practice questions were very similar to exam questions and was very fair game.
Yilmaz is one of the BEST, most CARING professors, always wants what's best for his students! Some lectures can be dry & have a lot of extra content but I found it pretty interesting (it's no dealbreaker). Pay close attention to the in-class problems thg! Also, GO TO OFFICE HOURS, best way to learn! Make sure your Algebra & Calc is SOLID thg!
Very accessible class if you went for the lectures. Professor was always willing to help outside of class time. Highly recommended!
Mr. Kocer's lectures are clear and very well structured. He is always ready to help, and explains things in great detail. Be aware that the homeworks are time limited. As long as you attend the lectures and listen carefully, you don't need a lot of effort. Go through the study guides before exams, as they very closely resemble the actual tests.
If you're thinking of taking his ECON 415 class...don't. This class has been confusing since the start and although he is a caring professor, his lectures don't really help with the hw assignments and don't prepare you for the midterm/final at all. Going to his lectures did more harm than good because he would often go off-topic.
I missed two lectures the entire semester and this class was still difficult. Yilmaz is extremely caring but the content is brutal and all over the place. It's too much material for a shortened class time and everything is tedious. It also doesn't help that he rambles and spends more time on his tangents than the relevant topics.
AVOID-- Yilmaz is surely a nice and caring prof but also the MOST UNORGANIZED person I've ever met. Lectures move so fast that nothing makes sense and problem sets are nothing like his lectures. Be ready to study on your own and die alone. The textbook does not help at all. He expected the class average to be around 70%
yilmaz is a really nice guy, but when it comes to teaching, it is really difficult to understand the concepts. he will often skip over parts of problems and say "you should know how to do this by now". the problem sets he has you do for hw are also significantly harder than the ones gone over in class and take hours to do + are tedious.
I think people are over hating him, lectures can cover extra stuff that won't go into hw sets but they will help you along with the in class exercises. Easy to reach outside of class so if you need help on hw theres that too. Overall class was relatively easy (2-4 hours a week for me), and I still learned alot about econ.
I'll be honest, yilmaz's lectures are extremely hard to follow, his homework tedious, and his exams are brutal. Despite this, he is definitely caring. Other than the stuff he says during lectures, he's pretty well organized. If you put in the work (attend office hours!) you'll do fine. But its a lot of work...Also don't take if you don't like math.
Definitely not the easiest course at USC, but very rewarding if you follow along the course content. Homeworks could be brutal, but tests are fair. Course is curved, so the absolute scores does not really matter, which kind of offsets the difficulty of the tests.
the class isn't too bad, it's 7/9 psets, one midterm, and one final. all of this would be just fine if it wasn't for the 53% avg/mean final. there's no clear indication of what curve/final grade to expect, so feel free to take this course if you don't care about knowing what your grade is until it's in OASIS. don't expect yilmaz to email you back
Doesn't like it when his students do well in his classes. Take Bayrak if you can.
The average on his final was a 68% and he didn't curve it because that is a good average in his opinion. Enough said.
Although he is a nice professor, the exams are extremely difficult and everything including problem sets are graded harshly.
This class is harder than you think. Study the practice exams and be able to combine concepts. Complete all the practice sets and form study groups early.
Really great class. Homework and the final exam are very difficult, but if you pay attention in class and have a solid micro foundation you should be able to do well. Easily one of my favorite profs at USC.
Probably one of the hardest Economics professors I've ever had at USC. He tends to make everything more complicated and tedious on midterms and finals. Avoid if you are looking for a good grade.
Yilmaz equips you everything must be needed to utterly understand and to be inspired as a economics-centered student. Lectures move super fast (but it's the lecturing style, he would actually build your understanding very slowly and patiently, always keep that in mind.) This is 303, you must think hard. But it's Yilmaz, you will like him.
Bro yaps for the whole class.
Boring as hell. I am good at econ and somehow scored terribly in his class all year. Take it with somebody else and save yourself the misery.
Goes off on completely unrelated tangents during lecture leaving you so confused as you try to decode what he's saying. Kocer somehow makes an entry level micro class impossible to understand with incredibly difficult exams - the max score received on our final was an 88% which is diabolical for an intro class that most people take as a GE
I feel grateful to have had Kocer as a professor. He is so passionate about the course and will truly help you whenever you need it. Although the exams are seriously hard (he admits it) you can succeed if you pay attention in class and do the problem sets. Kocer made me see Economics from a new perspective and is an all-around great guy
I could not recommend Professor Kocer's class enough. He was very understanding and provided lots of review materials that were extremely helpful for the final and midterm. I would highly recommend reaching out to both him and your TA during their office hours, as they are extremely helpful in explaining concepts that you don't understand.
To be honest, he's a very nice guy but everytime I would go to class he would constantly be talking about apples and oranges for concepts that clearly needed to be explained more. There's only 3 ways to obtain a grade in his class, 2 exams and hw. His exams are very hard so if you do bad, it's over.
Professor Kocer is a very nice guy however not a great lecturer. There is weekly homework, make sure to do that on time. The midterm and final are very difficult and tests on information found in textbook. Lectures are not mandatory, and I personally did not get a lot out of it. Avoid this class if you can.
Yilmaz is such a nice dude, it just sucks that he's crazy smart and his exams are super hard. His lectures are kind of hard to follow because he goes super fast. The class is just two tests and homework and again, his exams are HARD. The average for the final was a 53... BUT I will say his office hours are super helpful and I'd take him again.
Yilmaz is a really sweet person, but he's not the best professor. He is very knowledgeable about the topic, but because of this, his lectures can easily go off-topic. His tests are REALLY hard.
lectures are dry and hard to follow, but he was clearly very passionate about the class. multiple choice homework due every week (3 attempts), one midterm, and one final. midterm and final very closely resemble the study guide.
He's very approachable and caring, and definitely passionate about Economics. He gives a lot of homework, his tests are hard, and he can be tough to follow. That said, the syllabus is quite basic and if you put in effort, you'll be fine.
Prof. Kocer's class is challenging, but staying engaged and using resources like the textbook and unstuckstudy can help you succeed. Attend office hours for extra support.
Very boring lectures. Quite a bit of homework (40-50 problems once or twice a week) but you get multiple attempts which is helpful. Wasnt a big fan of the “lab discussions”.
Great person, wants you to really learn about the subject. He solves a lot mentally so his solution sheets can make you question your life if you like being able to see every step taken to get the answer. I'd take him again if my gpa wasn't on the line lol. Only reason I passed was cause he curved the final.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. His lectures consist of him repeating everything off the slides, hence way a lot of people stopped going to class halfway through the semester. He has a sharp italian accent which can make understanding concepts harder. Average for the midterm was a 60%, the discussion also section is very unorganized.Take anyone else!
Nice guy but couldn't understand anything from the lectures and mainly self-studied. There were 16 problem sets over the semester that took a bit of time but you have 3 attempts and can drop the lowest 2 which pulled up the horrible midterm performance. Discussion was free participation but mandatory & pointless. Slides were textbook screenshots.
Average but passionate lecturer, midterm and final were both easier and harder than the homework somehow.
He is such a nice guy, but the class is incredibly challenging. The average for the final was an ,F and I really struggled with the class. Make sure to practice his example problems a lot; the concepts themselves aren't that hard, but the exams are extremely hard.
Yilmaz is a nice guy and cares about teaching, but AVOID taking his class. It is unnecessarily difficult and his examples are redundant and do not help. Our final exam average for Fall 2024 was around a 35% with a 39% median— at some point it can't just be the students faults lol. Take any other class… trust me.
Mostly self-studied using the textbook. Not his fault though - I can never really sit still or pay attention in any lectures.
