Professor Yu is very hard to understand No doubt (She has a hard Chinese accent) but never the less she knows her stuff she's an easy grader at least for the Summer math 20 immersion program she was don't be so fast to walk out give her a chance you won't regret it she cares about her students. I'd love to have her as a professor again.

I had her for a winter class and she was very understanding and very easy to pass. You won't fail if you're taking her class. If you put in effort and show that you're trying she'll help you out and pass you. Very great and caring professor

Ying Yu is an excellent professor. She puts her effort into the lecture. In order to get a good grade just complete the homework and practice. Her lectures should be a review because there is a lot of curriculum to cover in one semester.

I took this class during the winter break. Prof Yu is a great professor. she made review sheets for us, and literally just study the review sheet and you will do great on her test. I don't know why there is a lot of bad reviews. If you go to class and take notes and study the review sheet she gives you, you wont fail.

I took this class during winter break. it's not an easy class to take during 3 1/2 weeks a lot of material to cover, Prof Yu is very smart she cares about students passing the course, do your HW and study her notes her exams come straight from her lecture/notes she gives everybody the opportunity to pass her class. I enjoyed her classes.

She goes pretty fast, study her lectures and review sheet before the exams, the questions come straight from it. Truly cares for her students.

Extremely caring about her students, she really wanted us all to do well and gave a lot of options for extra credit and tutoring. The material in this class isn't easy, especially condensed into a 15 day summer course. But she does her best to focus on teaching the concepts and makes her tests extremely fair, with very helpful reviews.

One of the most caring and sweetest professors out there. She really cares deeply for her students as she encourages them to study and do the homework each time. Shes really merciful and is willing to help so long as your willing to help yourself.

Ying is definitely the reason why Im so much better at math than I have ever been in my life. I took mth20 thinking I didnt need this class, I definitely knew math. I was completely wrong, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. But ying changed all of that. she was so caring and genuinely wanted us to pass. I got an A+ in the class.

Understanding and caring teacher. If you get a question wrong on a test, but can demonstrate that you understand the concept for the most part, you will most likely still get partial credit. If you don't understand something, ask questions immediately because if you don't you'll be completely lost afterwards.

For MTH in general, you should attend all the classes and try to do the HW ASAP or else it'll be easy to get left behind. If you're like me and haven't done math in a while, it's going to be very difficult, but rewarding. Very kind and understanding professor; she held tutoring sessions every time before class.

Her lessons are important because u need to learn the content, not just formulas. Has a strong accent so sometimes she's difficult to understand but she goes over every single topic that u need to learn for her tests. Honestly she's a good professor but if you take her class and start complaining bc u can't understand her don't take it. Simple.

Professor Yu is an amazing professor. She explains everything clearly and actually made Calculus seem easy. Her exams were based on her review sheets and the homework helped for the exams as well. Definitely recommend!

Took her this past summer, very supportive, wants students to do well. Not an easy A but if you put in a good amount of effort you will do well. Lectures very well structured and I'm sure in a full semester length class she will teach even more in depth.

i enjoyed her teaching style, she gets straight the the point & knows whats shes doing. if ur still confused shell gladly help during her office hours. she gives u all semester to finish the hws but its best if u do them as u learn the lessons. she gives review sheets before tests. only way youll fail is if your rude & dont even try

Took her during summer semester. If you see this prof for MTH, TAKE HER! She teaches concepts in ez-to-understand way & always try to make it easier to understand. I've seen other profs teach MTH 231 in unnecessarily complicated ways. Take good notes, especially of definitions, attend class, distinguish btw diff. concepts, and you can get A easy!

Professor Yu has the ability to take a hard concept and turn that into something clear and understandable. This math professor is the best you can have. She will help you if you ask for it and go to her office hours or email her. She explains every question you will have and be able to have you understand what she is teaching.

This professor cares a lot about your understanding during 2 hour class. She gives a lot of help and chances for the class. I have tough time in high school and got 40-60 in trig. But in her class I got like 95+ for all tests, it seems like she grant more understanding than others. And she will not bored the class.

She is a great professor. I took her twice. She isnt a strict teacher and helps out a lot. She cares about her students passing. My fav part was that she leaves the hws open at all times so you can complete and study from them. I found that this helped me a lot and is a huge reason why I passed this course which was one of my toughest

Ying is a very good professor who teaches very well. She cares a lot about her students passing. My favorite part is that she leaves the hws open at all times for her students so they can study and fully understand the topic. This is my 2nd time having her and I passed both times because she is terrific. She isnt too strict and she will help you.

Math 123 is pretty difficult however, Professor Yu really takes her time to explain things and has ways in which learning math is easier. She cares for her students and has office hours which she recommends and really helps out.

She's a really great professor for math and always makes sure to communicate all the material in the clearest way possible. She's willing to dedicate a lot of time outside of class if you need any extra help and doesn't mind giving a little bit of extra credit, as long as you make sure you're doing the work that you're supposed to do.

Professor Yu is an exceptional professor. She goes out of her way to help her students out. She is very straight forward with what's going to be on the exam. She gives many opportunities for students o better themselves with extra credit. If you do the work assigned, you'll be fine.

Professor Ying Yu is a very caring and nice, her way of teaching math is very unique. She explain the fundamental concept for each lessons and question/problem before she teach you how to solve the problem and she always explain as she proceed each step along the solution. She make math easy and clear to understand, even Im never good at math.

Math has been very rough for me and is not my strongest subject but Prof. Yu has made this semester go smoothly. she's a great professor she gives extra help when needed and is caring enough to make sure the work is understood.

Had her as my tutor and she was phenomenal. I was having so much trouble in my MTH 231 and MTH 229 class but once I started tutoring with Professor Yu, I was able to understand the concepts very easily. She was my tutor for two straight years, not my professor. I failed math in high school and college and had 0 confidence in the subject. She helped me through algebra all the way up to Calc 2. She is an extremely helpful tutor, and is a natural teacher, and very helpful. I have been getting all As with her help! You still need to put in the work!

Professor Yu is one of the best professors I've ever had. She's always willing to help all her students if she see they're putting in the work and showing up to class. The class is hard and does require you to study all the curriculum but if you review the notes and complete the homework to the best of your ability you'll do fine. She's great.

Professor Yu is a great teacher. I am horrible at math and I'm pretty dumb but I was actually able to learn things in her class. For the things I did not understand or get, there honestly was nobody else to blame but myself for not studying hard enough or doing the homeworks on time. One of the best professors I've had in math EVER.

Professor Yu made the course as simple as possible to fit our needs. Fitting a whole semester worth of material into 4 weeks was rough, but she was by our side the whole time. Practice questions each day! Math is all about practice. She will tell you exactly what you need to do to do well. I would take her again in a heartbeat. 10/10 professor.

if you put in the effort you will succeed in her classes. i seriously dont understand why people give her bad ratings the only reason you can possibly fail her classs is because you dont put in any effort. If you put in the effort she will also give u a helping hand. I had a few math profs so far and shes still my favorite one out of the three.

She truly cares about her students and wants us to succeed. She is a give-and-take teacher if you put in effort, she genuinely helps. She was very lenient and always reminded us about assignments. Even when the class was disrespectful early on, she still tried to support everyone, no matter how frustrating it must've been. She has my respect.
