has a very heavy accent. very bad professor. do not take it if you want a good grade! will give you a very low grade even if you work hard. you'll get a lower grade than you deserve.
She's horrible.. She reads out from the powerpoint slides.. i don't think she knows what she's doing.. I go to her class at the start of the semester but i end up not going there anymore..
Difficult to understand, if you dont participate EVERY CLASS wont give a good grade, YOU MUST SPEAK! not a good grader !
I disagree with all other ratings. I think her tests are easy, since they are made by the students, and that she knows very well what she's teaching. The power point slides are very helpful. You don't have to copy anything and they're very well summarized.
People sometimes just know to complain about participation, while it is participation that counts more. I mean, where have they been!!?? And as for her accent, I don't think anyone in my class who HAS BEEN PAYING attention has trouble understand
BOOORRRRING. PARTICIPATION IS BIG IN THIS CLASS, BUT HARD TO TAKE PART IN SINCE SHE KEEPS PICKING ON THE SAME BLABBER MOUTHS WHO PARTICIPATED AT THE BEGINNING OF SEMESTER.DOES NOT GET TO KNOW STUDENTS BY NAME,SO SHE REQUESTS A PICTURE.LEADS TO BIAS GRADE.
Her accent is not that bad at all it's her spelling. But anyways the tests are hard. I failed the first one, but the tests are made up by the students so we all e-mailed eachother the questions we made up and i got a 96 on the second test.Participation!!!
Very nice professor. Her test covers everything that she does in the class... I think if you read the text book and understand everything you will be fine..
This professor is so boring, you will end up falling asleep. Extremely harsh grader. You have to participate every class to pass. She asks for a picture of you which is kind of weird.
She cannot teach. Needs to be fired. VERY boring. Stay away
I will be honest: I thought this class was easy. And I enjoyed it and her only because I got an A. But if you are the type that hates textbooks, don't take this class because the only way you'll pass is if you read each assigned chapter twice along slides
This is not an easy course but a very important one. The professor is demanding but she also gives a lot. I learend a lot from this course. Highly recommended but for people who really want to study. She is an excellant professor.
She is very good. I learned a lot
The course is not easy, you will have to read the textbook, all of it! I think the course was boring because the lectures were not interesting. You learn a lot, but that is because you will have to read a lot to get a good grade.
She's not easy. Tests you base on materials in class and text. Materials in class are not neccessarily in book, and material in book might not be discuseed in class. YOu have to do both. Make sure you participate, at least once a week. Sit in the front, she'll remember you quicker.
ok she is boring to death im serious you will die in her class unless u really interested in a subject, Tests are all in a book READ THE BOOK, slides are not enough u have to have the book, i read the book and got 94 on a final. Also has extra credit project. but SO BORING
Extremely boring, she reads you the slide, and try to make ppl talk. You must participate, it is like 8 or 9 points. Materials are mix from the slides and book, you must STUDY BOTH. Extremely extremely boring, and way too much materials
She is very caring, invests a lot in the students, knows her material, and I find her very interesting. I wish most of the professors will be like her. I don't think the course is excessively difficult and the combination of book and lectures seems fair to me.
She is very defensive about her grading and tests and never admits to being wrong. You can show her an answer in the book and she will still justify how it's worng. Otherwise, somewhat boring, but at least she cares about her students. Lets class out early.
NOT A GOOD PROFESSOR. NOT CLEAR AND USES POOR GRADING STADARDS. ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN VERY BORING LECTURES. ALSO SPEAKS WITH A FUNNY ACSENT. ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THE CLASS IS THAT SHE GIVES OUT NOTES. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Helped me go from C+ average to an A final grade in class! Very helpful at office hours. Scantron tests - need to know book and class materials. Somewhat boring class lecture. Participate a lot, she asks for your pic to identify you. Offered extra credit project that helped boost grade a lot. No formal attendance but attend cuz she remembers you.
She is the worst prof. I ever had during my 4 years of college. When you ask her a question she turns it back to the class just to escape to answer it because she DOESN'T KNOW THE ANSWER. What she does is she reads her damn slides and the rest is up to you. If you have a choice to avoid her please do so you won't regret, believe me.
This professor annoyed me. If you don't need any of her classes, avoid her. She read from her slides, and then has gives a mini group project that takes up most of class and does not relate to anything. He tests are subjective and she is the judge and jury. Avoid!
She creates slides for the students then basically repeats them for 1/3 of the class time. Another 1/3 of the class she calls on students to share instances of their work experience, relating to lesson. The rest she spends stuttering in some foreign language or thinking of an english word she can us to communicate! Good luck!!
Not the most interesting professor but cares about the students' input and their work deeply. If she feels like you are trying even when your grades are low, she will give you extra credit to make up for it.
Do not take this professor unless you enjoy being frustrated. No matter how much you study, you will never get good grades unless she likes you. She is very defensive about her questions on tests, and even when you show her the right answer in the book, she will still defend her wrong answer! Her class is useless, not an easy A, boring... avoid!
Very bad professor! You can't understand her. She is not helpful and she is even mean you go see her to ask a question. Hated her class and didn't care too much for her either.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND BORING. NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU READ, YOU ARE NOT GETTING HIGHER THEN A C+. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT YOUR GPA TO REMAIN WHERE IT IS!!!! DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH!!
The worst professor ever. I hated this class. She was a tough grader (forget about your GPA with her). She doesn't even speak English. Total waste of time. Take this class with Scherbaum -- my friend liked him.
I hated this class. She is so boring, hostile, and intimidating. I don't like her teaching style of just reading the slides and then having the students fill out stupid surveys for her own benefits (at her other job) and then making the students talk about their work experiences. Also, she makes you purchase a lot of cases during the semester that
Eh...I dropped her class. It was extremely B-O-R-I-N-G, and her tests are extremely hard. She is rather hostile as well. I'd advise you not to take her.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. YOU WILL REGRET IT. CLASSES ARE BORING AND SHE DOESNT HELP AT ALL. READS HER SLIDES AND EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING. SHE IS CRAZY, MEAN AND CANT TEACH. HARD EXAMS. HARD GRADER. DOESNT CARE ABOUT STUDENTS. WORST EXPERIENCE IN PSYCH.
This professor is very professional, always on time, and knows her work. she teaches from slides which come from the text book and is very coordinated and comprehensive. Her tests are very fair and easy, just read the text. Her grading is fair also. she encourages class participation, but good grades will do. I would highly recommended this profess
This professor is the worst thing that happened to Baruch. She simply does not know how to teach and reads off her slides without explaining anything. Poor command over English and is a dedicated feminist. Very disappointing. Hard exams - 4 of 'em. Mandatory experiment participation. Picks favorites. Makes people recall their job experiences. BAD
She is the worst professor at Bernard Baruch College. She only liked students who had full-time jobs. She is such a liar! I had to put her in her place about being honest. Worst ever...I dont honor or respect a teacher who cannot be honest with herself as well as her students! She sucks!
Easy A. She is the most boring professor ever, however! The class is easy. I never listened in class and simply read the chapter and got an A. She also assigns HW online, which is later helpful in preparing for the exams. 4tests, extra credit assignment, extra credit for participating regularly in the ridiculous class discussions.
She is seriously stupid, never have answer to any questions student ask. Force students to participate in research study without giving any credit. Tried to make money of of students by having people coming in selling book. Her exams are unfair, her TA is mean and ****y. The worst part is they don't show the name of the prof when you register.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, AND I AM 29 YRS OLD. THE SAYS, "EH EH EH EH EH EH" BETWEEN EVERY WORD/SENTENCE IN HER ISRAELI ACCENT. SHE DOESN'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO ANYTHING, AND BOUNCES EVERYTHING BACK TO THE CLASS TO ANSWER. HER TESTS HAVE NO RELEVANCE TO WHAT YOU STUDY, AND EVEN IF YOU UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL, SHE TRICKS U
The class is not that difficult, but it is also supposed to be interesting. She will bore you to death and drive you f.. crazy!! E-e-e after every other word, idiotic class discussions, reading directly from slides... If you do not have any other option, take her, though, you will survive. Read the book, do the hw, and you'll get an A
lectures can be boring, but its psych 1001, all prof's will have somewhat boring lectures. Shes easy to understand, and tries to make the class fun. Read the textbook and do the extra credit, you should get an A
she is basically boring.Uses youtube videos once in a while to keep the class awake since most of them sleep. test are multiple choice so it should not be hard to pass.
Worst teacher I have ever had. Classes are extremely boring. First class I didn't get an A in.
It's psych 1001 folks. Read the damn Text book, and there is no reason in you should get anything below an A. The extra credit gives you 15 points to your final grade, and she curves the exams. If you failed her class, then you should consider trying out a community college.
After reading the ratings here, I was dreading this teacher. All I can say is that maybe people who don't have an axe to grind should give some ratings too. She does her best to make the class interesting using multimedia, grades on a curve and gives extra credit. Go to class, participate, do homework, study, and you too will do well.
she's not helpful at all, she does not want to be bothered by the students. avoid her. terrible teacher
I hope people realize that the purpose of taking a class is so that you'll learn. The professor is already doing her share to educate you. However, the rest of the work is up to you to carry out whatever grade you want to receive. Shes here to teach you not babysit you. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed her course and advise students to study.
Eeeh, eeeh! Everything is easy: read the chapter, then do assignment online, which is a part of your grade, then listen to the same info in class. Attendance is mandatory. An easy class, but boring, so try not to fall a sleep during the lecture=)
Stupidest professor you can ever find for psychology. She is annoying and uses AAAAA...AAAAAA... in every sentence. Tests are hard and the monitors are stupid just like her. She doesn't care and review for exams. And the stupid long homework that makes no sense.
This class can be an easy A, LearnSmart/reading text book/pay attention in class. Most of the complaints are legit but there is no reason why you should fail. Come to class and study. If you are complaining you failed the class lol. This class is what you need to succeed. Crack a book open before its too late and don't give up on anything!
Damn, she is just annoying with her sayings AAAaa.AAA.... She is just annoying and stupid. Not funny at all. Makes people sleepy and nothing else. If anyone wants to be bored to death, my recommendation is take her. Only the geeks can survive in that class. Never late and makes you stay for a longer time. Dont take her. She will ruin your GPA.
WORST professor ever!! Not helpful at all.
It is hard class from people that are not fluent in English; the professor just follow by her lecture and you have to study by yourself; you can earn at least 15% if you do all the home work more than 80%.
Professor is difficult to understand. EHHH..EHHH! Biggest mistake ever! Definitely need a textbook to pass her class. If you have a lot of free time, this class is perfect for you. Very time consuming with her homework assignments.
She is the worst teacher I've ever had. Can't teach to save her life. I wish I could get my money back for this class.
Ehhhhh. That is the only thing I learned from this class. Attendance is mandatory for the grueling 1 hour and 40 minute class. She lectures straight from her slides and every other word that comes out of her mouth is ehhh. Does not do any kind of test prep, and is not engaging whats so ever when lecturing. Read the textbook and try to pay attn.
her accent is hard to understand and she is unorganized all the time, but she gave out 12 extra credit points, i receieved an A for her class, but i DIDNT learn anything from her actually, textbook helps you a LOT!
She is not that bad but can be boring at times. You have to read the book to do well in the class. It's very possible to get an A. The tests are completely based off the textbook and if you do the extra credit it will prepare you for the test and give you extra points towards the final grade.
She might be the worst professor to exist at baruch college, matter of fact in the world. She thinks we care about her class when in fact no one does. Attendance being mandatory is horrible and the fact that she held sunday classes cause of the hurricane makes me hate her.NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU COHEN! On the other note the class is easy A,but boring
You could understand the chapters better if you really listen to her. In order to do well you have to read the book. Personally, I like this class and the fact that we can use connect to study, I really like it. Beside, she gives extra credits for h.w which is great. And she always response to my e-mails. I do like her and her class.
Avoid her by any cost! She is the worst Psychology Professor at Baruch!
Effortless A, but she is HORRIBLE! Can't speak and can't teach. The only thing I learned is "eh eh eh" (you'll get it when you walk into her lecture). Be there the first and last 15 mins for attendance - ask for a seat near the exit so you can walk in and out without disturbing your silly neighbors who are staying.
Try to avoid this prof! Take her only when no one else is available. Read from the book her lectures and slides are not useful for test. She will test you on the things that she didnt even cover in class so its better to read the book.
Y to have such terrible teachers and waste college money, goverment money as students r stuck bcoz of financial aid, or students money those who pay themselves. get rid of such teachers . esp those who cant speak, Psychology, history computer theory( AIS) accounting subjects need some one who can explain the stuff and talk better.
The class is easy in the sense that she gives you 14 extra credit points if you do the homework assignments. As long as you maintain an 80 average on the test, you are golden. Also, she is boring and it's really hard to stay awake during class. However, she puts up practice questions and in class questions and a lot of them shows up on the test
Read the book, do the assignments and go to class. Basic requirements. 4 tests non-cumulative , no midterm, no final. Very doable A
Come on, you people seriously? I can't find an easier class than this at Baruch College. Yes, it sometimes can be hard to understand her, but an A is beyond easy. Just read the book yourself and do your homework, exams are totally doable.
Great professor who cares about teaching and about her students. Easy A.
Great class, might be a little long but a lot of videos make it interesting. 4exams not cumulative, no homework beside extra credit assignments that can add up to 14 points on your final grade(best part as they are easy to do). You need to READ THE BOOK and you'll be golden for exams.
WONDERFUL, KIND woman. Offers 14 (yes, 14!) extra credit opportunities that each count for 1 point on your final grade. She's adorable, sweet, and caring. I can't praise her enough. She's also a very good teacher, though classes do feel long at times. Easiest A ever - there are no essays! This prof is a MUST-TAKE. Thank you so much, Professor!
Lectures are boring and basically non-essential to passing as they are pulled straight from the textbook but Professor Cohen-Charash still expects you to show up and be engaged which is almost possible with such a common sense subject. Tests are easy if you read the textbook and do the extra credit assignments (which are abundant).
Awesome professor
As long as you show up to her lectures, participated, done all the homework (it is 14 EXTRA POINTS) and reviewed the homework for tests you are bound to get an A. The exams are just like the homework, which is a plus. As long as you take the time to do all the homework, you are golden. There are no excuses for you to not get an A.
Gives you up to 14 extra credit pts towards your final grade. Participation matters. Connect hw helps you prepare for the test. Overall, pretty easy class.
Dr. Cohen-Charash is a nice person and okay professor. I do not recommend taking the class late which seems to be the only option. Just read the textbook and do the connect assignments and do the research requirement at least a month before the semester ends.
The only way you can pass this class is by reading the textbook and do connect assignments. She has a heavy accent, which I can hardly understand.
It's a department-standardised course, and I really disliked it. However, the grading criteria was clear & she covered a lot in her lectures. She speaks with an accent, but isn't difficult to understand. Expect an A if you study before the exams. There was also one paper.
She is a caring professor. You will have to read but the exams are ok and she gives a lot of extra credit. I'd take it again!
This will always be my favorite professor! Her course was confirmation that I wanted to be a Psychologist. She is an amazing woman.
This professor tried to do her best at making the class interesting and easy but the tests were extremely hard (4 tests). Make sure you study or else you will not pass. There are extra credit assignments online every week. Also there is a research assignment and a written assignment, both easy. Showing up late and leaving early count as attendance.
I actually found her 4 tests to be pretty easy... Just read the textbook. She gives you 14 extra points for completing extra credit assignments online. Again, pretty easy if you read the textbook. The material covered there is pretty interesting. It did not feel like work at all. Easy A. All you have to do is to show up and read the textbook.
I like her as a person. She is very nice and interesting. But she is bad at handling many students. Her classes usually have 100+ students. So you might not be able to get her help in class. Try reading every chapters few times. Because exams are tricky.
She's not a bad professor but get ready to buy a 650page textbook for $110 (It's a must and you CAN'T get it cheaper since you can ONLY get it at Baruch with a code u need for homework ), 1essay and 4exams that you HAVE TO read to get decent grade. I took this as an elective but ended up dropping and def wouldn't have taken it if I knew all this.
if you are the person who likes reading books you must go with this professor. To be honest I am a type of student who doesn't like reading books. we have to read the chapters before every class. I know if I worked little harder and read the book I would no be ended up dropping this class. 4 exams and 1 papers and you got 14 extra credits.
Professor Cohen-Charash is a wonderful teacher of psychology. She brings a lot of personality and knowledge to the course material. She's a wonderful instructor to have if you're in your first year, as she will give you a solid foundation on how to excel in future college courses.
Easy A! She gives 14-point extra credit towards your final grade!! She's very nice and knowledgable. She doesn't not allow you to use laptops and phones in class. Therefore, you must pay attention in class. Also, attendance is mandatory.
Loved her! I'd go to class exhausted and still find her lectures interesting. You can tell she is knowledgeable about psychology. I found the class to be an easy A, especially w/ the extra credit offered. Just a heads up, no laptops/phones are allowed, you get assigned seats for the semester, and attendance is marked with clickers.
A super easy class with interesting lectures. Prof breaks down the material in a understandable way and shows videos to explain content even more. Super easy online weekly extra credit assignments for 14 total points to your grade. One paper and 4 tests that are easy and noncumulative.
PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR IF YOU LOVE PSYCHOLOGY STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR.
Exams are 80% of your grade, they are tricky so definitely study. The textbook is $100 unfortunately, but it's useful for the exams. You're not allowed to use electronics in class, so you're forced to listen to her boring lectures but they'll also help you on the exams. If you stay on top of it, it's an easy A since theres 14 points of extra cred
She is not sensitive at all when it comes to grading! Throughout the whole corona pandemic, she was grading harshly! I do not recommend her at all! Exams are extremely hard ! Take this Professor if you want to fail! I can only imagine how she is when theres not a pandemic !
Professor Cohen-Charash was very straightforward with her expectations for students. It wasn't work heavy but you won't succeed if you don't read the textbooks. Her slides were informative and she always found interesting videos. However, seeing as tests made up the majority of the grade you need to study the textbook. The slides alone don't help.
Anyone that says anything negative about the professor is capping. This is by far the least intense course. a lot of reading, yes, homework yes. Put in some effort to pass this class.
I love this Professor. The exams are all open book. She doesnt give homework but she does give extra credit assignments for every chapter ( you have to get at least an 80% on it to get credit). Theres one writing assignment and you have to participate in research assignments but if youre online itll be surveys that are very tedious.
Such a sensitive professor. When students ask or complain about homework assignments or no extra credit, she is really rude and disrespectful. Basically she follows the class syllabus in a tightly strict manner. Her lectures were meaningless because nothing was learned of value on them.
Tests were worth 80% of the grade, there were 4 tests and she dropped the lowest grade. No final or midterm. Gave connect assignments as extra credit and each was worth 1 point towards grade but usually took 1-2 hrs to finish. She gave us assigned seats and attendance was mandatory. The lectures were boring also.
Never answers questions when asked and makes other students answer them. She also refused to reveal whether she was positive or negative when coming back for teaching after 5 days of quarantining.
Strict assigned seats all semester. Attendance is mandatory. No phones/laptops/iPads allowed, she will call you out. Tests are 80% of grade, open book, and online through connect. No lateness or flexibility with deadlines, even with emergencies. Easy to earn an A if you study, do the practice tests, and complete extra credit assignments.
A lot of extra credit available. Lectures are mandatory, but you dont need to raise your hand or fear getting called on. Tests are open book through connect. My advice: Use the physical book during the tests, every answer is in the book! I aced every test and didn't bother with the online copy.
The amount of awful reviews are funny but over exaggerated. Yochi isn't a terrible professor, but there are some things I didn't like. Super strict over seating and phone use in class. Strong accent but there's a TA and her office hours to clarify any confusion. To psych majors, its twice as important that you get clarification. Extra cred offered.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Not sure what others are expecting. So many opportunities to get an A with the tiniest bit of effort. 4 open book tests. Lowest test score is dropped. 14 SB HW considered extra credit. Each is a point on your overall grade for the course (e.g. 80 + all the HW's = 94) She just wants you to be present in the class.
Easy A. Extra credit, 4 open book exams, lowest score dropped. All you gotta do is read 3-4 chapters for each test. I don't prefer her as a Professor cause she has an accent, makes it boring, doesn't compromise when you have genuine accommodations that need to be met, doesn't answer questions asked, strict over seating and phone use in class.
She is a terrible professor just that she is too strict on the no cellphone and computer policy. I get the no cell phone but using the computer for notes and opening the textbook is needed. She will call you out in front of the whole class. Having assigned seats is ridiculous in college and at least let us choose where can have the assigned seats.
There were four exams overall, an excessive number of ambiguous assignments, and, worst of all, a ton of pointless tasks to complete on several different websites. She was so ill-prepared that, in response to your question, she would ask you the identical one. However, if you pay attention and complete the connect assignment, you will receive an A.
4 open book exams, camera on, dropping the lowest one. Two short writings and SONA. Many students said the "homework" is long and annoying, but they are EXTRA CREDIT, with a total of 14 points on the final grade if you finish all of them. I have nothing to complain about because these ECs guarantee my A. Don't expect an easy A without any effort.
I would not recommend this professor she gives 1 point extra credit for doing 100-200 SmartBook assignments. You will learn from the textbook that she always talks about random stuff and boring. Never teaches actual subjects. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE if you wanna save your time and mental health.
This professor charges you MONEY just to take a test like are you kidding me? This makes absolutely no sense. It's a psychology class not the BAR. She also does assigned seating on a 400 student lecture hall?? Also no laptops wtf. she is super disorganized. The textbook she makes you buy for class doesn't even arrive until 3 months after purchase!!
No electronics in class. She sees you on your phone you will be called out. Practice tests are nothing like the actual tests. Also need to pay for the website to access exams. Lectures are not engaging at all.
PROS: No HW, lots of *extra credit*, a few tests thru the semester (no midterm), 1 paper (2 if you choose alternative option for SONA) CONS: *attendance is mandatory* (she teaches straight from the textbook tho..), textbook is $104, assigned seats, no phones/laptops (she'll literally call u out) Easy A, just a waste of time
Would never take this class again, If you don't take the practice test you cant take the real exam and so you get a 0 , just like that , She has a crazy attitde
This Professor is keen on attendance, she has a very strict phone policy I was using my phone once for something important and she called me out Infront of everyone. There are 4 tests and a lot of extra credit as well as some writing assignments. You NEED to buy the book in order to access the test and the extra credit.
PROS: 4 tests and one is dropped CONS: Will call you out if on phone, a lot of reading and you need the book (around $100) to access the material and TESTS. You need to be there as attendance is very important. Overall, not a great professor and would not take again !
400+ students in a class AND she assigns seats. if she sees you use any electronic she will call you out. Big attitude. There are 4 tests, she drops lowest grade. You have to take the practice test and get at least a 60 to take the actual test. A lot of extra credit. One written assignment, and SONA research which is pretty easy. Textbook is $100.
The class itself is easy if you are willing to put in outside work. There are lots of ec opportunities so take advantage! Exams(80% of grade) are on connect and arent too difficult if you use the onsite search up feature. However, the professor can be very strict for college(assigned seats, no phones/technology at all, and will call you out).
trash omg what a waste of time its like a prison if u skip even onec ur attandance is clipped , Do not take this class omg I'm mad I had to take it. she is a doctor for what, no one takes her class serious and she gets tantrums when she sees a phone out . Overal : don't take this class she thinks shes funny too when shes not lmao
dislike this class, highlight of the class is when it ends. easy extra credit , 4 exams and u have to download proctoro it spies on u btw all bs aside i am glad the semester is almost over bc this class got it
it's funny how bad of a teacher they are and how much the class doesn't participate. so many people dropped the class it was shocking to me 4 exams and they all require the book also she is very nasty i asked her a question after class and she gave me a death stare and didn't respond… take this class and prof if u want a challenge
so mean to people for no reason , veryyy Boring prof and taps the whole class. take this prof if u want to sleep during the day a lot of extra credit tho so take that how u like and trust me she is not a great prof
I took this class thinking it would be light work but boy I was wrong , the professor is very strict for no reason. Her class is boring and To be Honest I regret every second I spent in that class. Im so happy I dropped it omg. DO NOT take her
It was easy to get a good grade because the grading criteria was very clear: open textbook/note exams and lots of extra credit, but I did not learn anything. It is very hard to be engaged in this professor's class because she is boring. She has a complex about the use of electronics in her class and will interrupt lectures to humiliate students.
Attendance was mandatory which meant sitting through the most useless lecture of my life for like 2 hours. Professor is unwilling to accommodate students outside of class, especially when it comes to exams. If you have to take a class with this professor (God help you), just do the extra credit and you'll pass.
Incredibly difficult professor, it was a class of about 300 people and she stopped every time 1 person was on their phone and humiliate them. Overall, the class was really interesting, the professor was just difficult to engage with, if you asked a question she'd usually just say to read the syllabus. If you missed any exam there was no retaking it
Rude professor who cares more about making sure no one in her 400+ people lecture was using any technology than actually teaching, to the point that she'd interrupt her lecture to individually call people out. Overall her lectures were not really great or informative but the actual class content is pretty good. Fun class to trip on shrooms in
Don't take her.
The class has some downsides, like the professor's strict policies and thick accent, but there are plenty of opportunities to get a good grade with minimal effort. The open-book exams and extra credit assignments make this an easy A if you stay on top of the work. Unstuckstudy is a great study tool to prepare for the exams.
waste of time. her lectures were straight from the textbook ($104 btw), & the extra credit assignments took like 2hrs (pls do them; they'll boost ur grade so much). exams were relatively easy, just read the textbook. she was a very annoying w her ridiculous rules of no phones or laptops. take another professor if ur genuinely interested in psych.
Find another teacher! I barley learned anything, her accent is thick and her microphone is chopped making it very hard to understand her. She assigned seating in a class of 400 people which is ridiculous. Test is 80% of your grade which you have to pay 100$ for. This class is absurd!
I took this class in Fall 2024, and it was the most boring class ever. The professor had strict, annoying rules like assigned seating for 400 students, no electronics unless for “polls,” and calling people out for minor things. The class was an easy A if you did the work, but the rules made it so boring. 4 excused absences which isn't enough.
Laptops/phones aren't allowed in lectures and she will call you out in the middle of class if she sees it. Was not one of her victims but it gets pretty annoying. However, tests are open notebook and textbook. That along with a lot of extra credit opportunities and really easy homework makes the class very doable and easy to pass (and get an A on).
she's super strict about the phone policy and will call you out in front of the class. Extra credit does help your grade but you have to pay for it and it is like 100 questions. Save your money.
DONT DO IT!!! GPA DESTROYER. Does not follow her own syllabus grading. She will give you an F for attendance. Horrible
Horrendous. Mandatory attendance, everyone is always falling asleep because her voice is intensely boring, and she uses the obnoxious phrase "is it possible to turn the electronic off," also had a zoom class which she forced everyone to turn their camera on. Register for classes with good professors, EARLY!!!
The professor is alright. She assigns seats and has a strict no electronics policy. However the extra crdits options are a good way to pass the class and not worry about scoring well on the exams. The exams are opened book and only 3 out of 4 count. The lectures are boring since i was in a huge class and hated sitting there for over a hour.
She's okay. class sometimes feels like one big therapy session which is awkward. Exams are open book and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. her lecture style is boring but it's manageable. assigns seats, no electronics. Attendance is recorded every class by her TA based on your seat. Your grade is really up to you and the work you put in.
honestly, shes not that bad. her class gives me a laugh sometimes , most of the work is mcgraw hill connect which is easy considering that the textbook basically has everything there and the exams are technically open book since she says you can use the textbook and your notes during the exam.
No electronics allowed, assigned seats, tons of homework, and boring lectures. Before a midterm, you have to take a practice exam, and it can reach upwards of 100 questions. If you don't get a specific grade on it, you can't take the exam. However, if you study a lot, and spend a lot of time on this class, you can do well.
Honestly she's not that bad. There is no homework, just optional extra credit which will definitely boost your grade. Yeah, the lectures are boring but take notes (no electronics), and all the tests are online AND open book (good deal). It's all through connect. Also assigned seats, it's true. Really though, it's not the worst thing in the world.
Attendance mandatory. But the class was easy. I appreciated that she let us use the textbook or the notes for the exams. But I wish she gave us more insight into psychology, she mostly read off the slides and didn't dive deep into the subjects bc I felt like she just doesn't know anything outside of the slides.
