a funny but hard-to-understand professor, you may learn more by reading the text book rather than listening to him. tests are very very easy, and he also gives out ex credits for do some easy PC homeworks in regular semester.
very hard to understand, unfriendly, and unhelpful
I didn't understand 90% of what he said in class. A translator would be helpful.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Can't speak a word of fluent english and doesn't seem to try. Uses Lab points to make up for his complete lack of ability to teach. The class is easy to get a good grade in though, but you will lose your mind.
Really, really boring. You'll probably learn more out of the book. tests are pretty easy except he tends to use very odd numbers.
The professor is cool, but his english is hard to understand.
It's really hard to understand what he is saying. He gives take home quizzes but they are pretty hard and are worth a lot. The tests weren't too hard. He also collects homework and gives you credit for it. The final is not cumulative.
this guy is not helpful and doesnt really care if you pass at all
Extremly unclear teacher, confuses the students regularly and sometimes himself. Has a thick accent and horrible handwriting. If you have a hard time with math ...take someone else. He does give take home quizes and allows notes on tests sometimes.
teacher does not explain anythin, very hard to pass the class, and i am realy good at math. I retook class and got an a with a different teacher. teacher doesnt speek english very well
I hate this guy. hes an idiot.. his basic vocabulary consists of: "huh?"...and even longer... "Huuuuuhhhs???!!!"... never take this teacher. i swaer the passing rate was a good 15%.
Soo True!!!
What a bubch of babies. I took him for calc 2 in summer and then calc 3 in the Fall. Not such a bad guy, but his English is bad. Gives plenty of opportunity to save your grade with quizes and HW points. May be you guys should have tried a little harder.
"IsIt?" "Eh?" "Com'oon" Known for these quotes. Very bad teacher, needs a translator. I was so bored in this class, that I started to write a dictionary. His method of teaching; writing examples on board... thats it.
Do not take if you are a slow learner at Math. Does have a thick accent but means well. Is very sensitive so dont' make too many jokes or laugh. He thinks you are laughing at him. Leave at break, does not take attendance.
i can't believe everyone is whining, he's a really intelligent guy. he's not going to hand you an "A" on a silver platter, you have to go to his office hrs. i took him twice. his tests are easy because he tells you exactly what's on them.
this guy is an idiot! he has no patience and his teaching methods suck! no one in the class understands him becuase he cant speak too well. the only good thing is that he gives take home tests that are worth 30% of the class grade
Needs a translator. Writes chicken scratch. Don't take in the summer (no extra credit).
this course is not difficult as long as you pay close attention in class
Isit? Come on, come on! huh? fix-ed? known for these quotes, truneh is a good person and means well. has a thick accent but u will understand him easily after first 2 days. completley follows the book.very lazy as all his problems r from book.
Took this guys once on purpose, ended up with him another time when the teacher was listed as 'Staff.' Accent is bad, but easy to get by. Teaching methods are bad, impossible to get by. I dropped him twice.
Truneh is KICK-ASS! Best math prof I've had in over 5 years in 4 states. Weekly tests ensure you don't forget everything. Take home quizzes are hard but doable. Collects homework and gives credit for attendance. Accent is NOT BAD and he really knows his stuff. Explains well. I LOVED this class!
cant understand him at all. you practically have to read the book to understand, book example questions are way better than his teaching styles. but easy hw..all you have to do is at least one hw page and turn it it for full credit for the week
I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED BY CLASS. NEVER RECIEVED ANY ENCOURAGEMENT OR HELP IN THE CLASS AT ALL. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.
If you fail his class you are an idiot. This is by far the easiest math class (and probably easiest class in any subject) I have taken. All you have to do is pay attention to his lecture and do the homework. The examinations are not difficult if you pay attention and do what you're supposed to.
Guy has a deep middle estern accent but class isnt too difficult. At the begin of class he tries to be strict but loosens up as the semester moves on. He drops four homeworks and three quizes. Not very hard to get an A that way.
This guy has no sympathy for his students. If you struggle even slightly with Calculus, RUN! He said he would grade on a curve for our class (8 people) and never did so. I ended up with a B in the class but the guy should not be teaching as it was clearly not cut out for him. His weekly tests are hard too! Homework he doesn't even read over!
Great guy. Has no accent. Speks perfect english. Find out for yourself. easy 'b'
teaching methods suck, accent is bad, and thinks he's funny. do not recommend at all!
in 151 I had a 89% & he gave me a B then in 252 I had 79% & he gave me C he loves to keep you in border line and give you the lower grade, but not a hard teacher over all, even though you don't understand anything from eighter his lectures or tests, and he gets really mad if you ask him questions that he doesn't know the answer
AWFUL!!BEWARE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!CANNOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING HE TEACHES...YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR OWN STUDYING...HE IS KIND OF HELPFUL BUT I ADVICE NEVER TAKE HIM...
Ok so I wanted to see for myself if he was really that bad, yeah there all right. His way of explaining is just talking and he does not write out all of the steps for students like me that can't understand math that well. A test every week and while the hw is hard, the tests are usually simple. Get one of your friends to tutor you, he says AH alot.
if you are interested on passing math 96 and go to the next level with something in your brain..i recommend take a different teacher...he may not be for you...well it is not for everybody that this guy teach,....you will be wasting your time with this guy not worth taking him...
do not take his class.he is a very awful teacher..does not know how to teach...barely understand his english but also he is not understanding.test every tuesday, needs to be done in 30 mins with or 7 problems however it doesn't matter if you did not finish your work have to turn it in...even though he sees plenty of students did not finish the testt
Difficult to understand. Does not cover or explain the material. Many students struggle to comprehend without success. Skips steps during examples that add to the language barrier. Timed weekly quizzes do not allow time for errors to be corrected. Test are not covered afterwards to understand errors made before proceeding on.
Bad teacher!!and true what the person said on the bottom...
this guy cannot teach you are in for trouble...don't take him or else you will have a hard time ;earning math.
when you glance at his grading, you'de think i'll stick aroung, oh boy!! are you doom! that guy has no idea how to teach.and oh my gosh, his example are so bad that you wouldn't know what to copy down, just listen, dont and I repeat DONT!! take this guy, find someone else. good luck!!!
Wonderful teacher. One of my favorites. Easy, clear, and fun. He has a strong accent, but it rarely gets in the way of the class. He's works our problems fairly slow, but finishes the course early (don't ask me how this works Oo). If your looking for a rigorous teacher, this isn't the one for you.
This teacher was a good teahcer. If you know math and arent really slow.. than you will get it. People who dont get it, werent ready for math 96 and should have studies longer. He doesnt really stress hw and answers any questioons people have. The people who graded him poorly probably didnt ask questions for what ever reason. I recommend him
This guy is a BUFFOON! The only reason I passed his class is because we had a few take home quizes which my girlfriend did for me. I don't even understand 99% of the words that come out of his mouth. Do not take this class!
Fabulous teacher who actually pays attn to his students. He is available and understanding. He gives chances to redeem poor grades with many "drop" tests, easy HW points,take-home tests.A prepared student has no excuse NOT to succeed. I took this class at 7am and loved it.I mastered the material and enjoyed Truneh's great attitude and sense of humor.
I just wish they opened the damn windows :( Truneh is opposite of Tegarden, ...nuff said.
great outline for the semester, he will prepare you and make you understand the material. very well balanced
His accent can make it very difficult to understand what he's saying, but there's no reason not pass this class. As long as you understand the material in the sections being tested on then there's no problem. He's very cool about student's asking questions.
If you are a quick learner this class is a piece of cake. Unfortunately i am not and the class moved a little fast for me. There is 14 test and 14 homework assignments, 2 take home quizes and a final. The top ten tests and homework assignments are counted in the grade and the other four are dropped. The class is out of based on 1000 pts.
Ok, let's make something clear; he IS NOT hard to understand, you simply have to be interested in learning. I took this class twice before - different professors - and failed for lack of readiness. Then, I came back prepared to do the work and got an A. He explains the material well enough and there is also tutoring available on campus for free.
not a difficult class and relatively easy exams but the guy is a really harsh grader! surface explanations, not very engaging with the students... I got spoiled at city. take calc 2 over there with thomas- you'll feel much more confident at the end of the semester.
Truneh is an okay professor. He does have an accent but you get used to it and it doesn't affect his teaching of math at all. The lectures could have been more in-depth conceptually. The topics would be presented briefly then he'd do example problems for the rest of class. The Swokowski text is old and horrible. Use Miramar's Larson if you have it.
He has a heavy accent so you can't really understand him. His tests are easy but they are very long so you usually don't have time to finish it. He did a lot problems in the books which is very helpful for the tests. I do not recommend this professor because he is going too fast in his lecture.
He is a good Professor. He's very smart, also take advantage on the two takehome test worth 100 each. there are quizzes every week, but te best thing is that he goes over everything that need to be tested. his grading system is total points, so take advantage on the takehome test.
Hard to understand with his heavy accent. Every lecture is read straight from the book, so if you struggle in math, it's a very difficult class. I found his class to be very boring also. I would suggest taking Howard, who is very lively and explains concepts very well.
He is a horrible teacher who does not teach at all. Has a very thick accent and just reads everything exactly how it is in the book. Does not teach at all just reads the book and faces the board the entire time. Does not review any material and dies not go over tests so i have no idea what i am doing wrong.
Taking math 252 with prof. Truneh was quite fun! He is a very funny guy, and he makes the class interesting. The class is not hard at all! Just do your homework and turn them in on every Monday/Tuesday. There are two take-home quizes and 5 in-class exams!
not recommended at all, you will not learn anything from him. he does not prepare you for the exams. take someone else beside him, dont waste your time and money.
If you are not good in math, don't take with him. He just read whatever in the book had written. Tests are hard and he never review or prepare for test. You getto be self study yourself. I passed the class with the help of tutoring center but I didn't learn anything from him.
Dude this guy is tight for Calc 3. He's so easy. He lets you have two take home quizes that are worth 150 each. You do well on those and bomb the test and do the extra credit it will be a walk in the park. Take him! And hes nice. He might have a little accent but you will get use to it.
He has two take home quizzes. Each is 150 points. They are exactly the same type of question he gives for homework and lectures on. He gives at least 50 points of extra credit. If you can get 100% on both of your take home quizzes, extra credit, and at least 1 A on a test and B's on the rest, then you will get an A. There is no final.
While his grading system is pretty easy, if you EVER plan on taking another math or math related class after this one, DO NOT TAKE TRUNEH! He moves fast, is unorganized, has sloppy writting on the board, and has an accent. He puts virtually no effort into teaching. I have to make up for a lot of lost time now. FWIW, he is a nice guy though.
Do not take him even if you're the best mathematician on earth. He has an accent that makes him harder to undrestand, besides he just knows how to solve the problems and not how to teach math. You should be stupid to take it with him 'IF' you don't have to. I'd fire him if I could, so students have better teachers.
do not take him, unless you wanted to repeat this math again because his exams are so hard. look for other professors.
This professor knows the material that he's teaching quite well. His tests are fair if you put in effort of doing the homework and dedicate your time on studying his in-class lecture notes. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities through his pop quizes. This class requires a lot of studying so do not slack off.
DO NOT TAKE HIM, HIS EXAMS ARE SO DIFFICULT AND HE DOESN'T PREPARE YOU FOR THE EXAMS. CAL III IS A HARD SUBJECT AND PLUS HIS THICK ACCENT, IT WILL MAKE IT EVEN HARDER FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND HIM AND LEARN IN HIS CLASS.
Very difficult to understand his accent and his writting. I enjoy math usually but did not feel I grasped the concept this semester. Difficult testing and he seemed not to care about his students.
Professor Truneh is a good teacher who gives great notes and has genuine concern whether or not his students pass his class. He is willing to work with you if you seek out the help. He allows notes on tests, has take home quizzes and drops the lowest test scores, homework and quizzes, and the final is optional. I definately recommended him.
He gives you notes on some of your tests and for some of the last tests they were open book. Math is obviously pretty hard so you must go to class to comprehend the material. If you don't go, you're not gonna pass even if all the tests are open book. I definitely recommend this class.
It's hard to understand him because of his accent. He gives you a 30min quiz each thursday but he only gives you 15min but you can use your book. You get 2 take home quiz and five test. The final is optional. You cannot use examples in your notes. I got by, by studying the examples in the book and doing the homework. Solution manual is really helps
I really liked professor Truneh. I took Calculus 3 and Linear Algebra with him and felt that I learned good methods for working through problems. True his class is not very easy but if you actually attend class, pay attention, and do the homework you'll get an A no problem.
He is a really thorough and educated professor. Attendance is mandatory bc of the material. Tutor center helps as well. Alot of the tutors know this professor. He gives fair quizzes and tests. You need to stay on top of your studies and you'll do fine. Very educated in what he does; also passionate as well.
The first day he said it was our problem if we couldn't understand him and he wasn't kidding. He speaks with a heavy accent and his handwritting is sloppy. Read ahead and it's not so bad but don't fall behind. His test?s are straight forward and he allows notes so take advantage. Material is diff and a lot of homework.
I don't understand why some people don't understand him...He is really good, I got 100 on my first test and 96 on my second test....He has an accent, but you get used to it, he explains everything, warning *no breaks*...
attendence is manatory. it takes a lil use to getting use to his accent, but if you show up then you can catch on fairly quick. hes very thorough and knows his stuff, be ready to do a lot of independent work though
I took him for Math 151 and 252. I really enjoyed his classes, yes he has an accent, but you will get used to it. This guy gives you so many chances to save your grade, there are tons of points available to you. If you do really well you may not even need the final. I recommend him to serious students, not typical juco cry babies. Take him!
He knows math, but teaching? Not so much. Ended class 20 minutes early on all test/quiz days, sometimes he would only give us 5 minutes or so for a quiz. Once as he was leaving early some classmates complained and he told them he didn't care. I would say just buy the book and show up for the tests but he makes you listen to his horrible lectures.
I got A and I recommend this professor only if you're serious about getting good grade and if you already have good knowledge of math.Attendance mandatory, goes quickly over lecture, have to pay attention.6tests,drops 1,don't have to take final if you have C and better.only 2 ppl got A.
This teacher really wants you to suceed. Many chances to get points. Must attend class and do homework, then you'll be fine. Accent a bit difficult at first. I felt the classwork went a bit fast for me so I basically just wrote everything down and then spent time with a tutor to review and do my homework. I got an A.
He is easy :]. That is all you need to know. Yes, we need to hand in hw every Thursday, but he didn't check it. i saw ppl just copy the questions and the answers from the back the book. He still give him a check mark. :]. YOu can see your note while you take the test. Very nice and easy :]
The class is easy, but it's torture; I sit there in class twice a week and it's extremely difficult for me to keep up with Truneh's teachings. He speeds through his lectures and yells when he is asked to repeat things. I may be overreacting because I've always been poor at math, but Alan Bass is much, much more better than Truneh.
Very easy A but his lectures arent that good
He makes learning a challenge, if you follow attentively and try you will get an A. If you give up and are lazy you will fail.
Makes the final really easy compared to his tests which are do-able. Decent teacher but his accent throws you off. Take him if you are a good self learner. Overall ok class. I GUARANTEE YOU FINAL IS free POINTS because it is so easy.
Worst teacher I've ever had. He changed the syllabus at the last moment and added a test that didnt matter. Yes, we had an extra test that didn't help our grade. And his accent is as horrible as his teaching skill. He just teaches you to copy probplems that he does. He doesnt explain anything. Do not take any of his classes.
He's very good at what what he teaches, which is Calculus. But his accent and writing are incomprehensible. At the end of the semester, I tried letting him know that I couldn't follow in class, trying to make it sound like my fault so I don't offend him. But he got angry because he thought I was questioning his ability as a professor. Thumbs down.
I liked Prof. Truneh. Yes he does have a thick accent. Pay attention in class and you'll pick everything up just fine. Takes time to go over questions and is in general helpful. Not the most exciting or funny prof but he taught the class well and was genuinely interested in helping students learn. Recommended if you have the desire to learn.
I enjoyed Professor Truneh's math 96 class. It is not an easy class in general, but he is a very experienced teacher. Those who complain his accent are obviously just trying to justify their poor academic performance. Most importantly, he is very fair with grades. Think of it this way, if you do not get an "A," than you simply did not deserve one.
he's not very good at english but he's great at math. write everything he writes on the board, do all your homework, open notes quizzes (take advantage!) and always ask questions when you have them and you will succeed. compared to other math professors he's one of the best at mesa. I'm a terrible math student but I got a B in his class.
all he does is do problems out of the book and assigns hw. test are pretty fair if you do the hw, but he normally throws in a random question. open book quizzes and two take home quizzes that are 100 pts each to raise your grade. i got an A, it was ok. just do the work and you should be fine. bad handwriting and horrible accent
Worst math teacher ever! Not a bad guy, but can't understand his english or handwriting! Avoid at all costs!
Horrible! Can't speak properly, disgusting handwriting. Copies examples from the book and THAT'S IT. NO TEACHING. Don't take!!
Professor Truneh is great! No final, take home tests, easy homeworks, drops some tests and quizzes. The last test is 2 classes before the final so finals week you dont have his class at all.
Mr Truneh is good at math but sometimes hard to understand. Very easy class. If you show up and take notes, you should have no problems with this class. Quizzes are open notes along with a couple of take home tests.
He is a nice guy and willing to answer ANY questions you have in depth, but it's hard to read his handwriting and he has a strong accent. Don't have to take a final which is nice. Only have to turn in like 75% of the HW to get full credit for it. It was ok, but if you have another option take it. I am bad at math and passed.
He is just the best. he knows his numbers...forget the language!
Well, I am one of those students that tries to love their teacher but, he doesn't speak loud enough, enunciate words, and has a thick accent. So, your stuck reading what he puts on the board, except what's on the board is chicken scratch. He will earnestly try to answer questions, but your likely hood of getting a coherent answer is about 5%.
Well, this professor needs to go through a new handwriting class or something. I can understand having an accent when talking, but you do not have an excuse for writing. My advice is do not take the class unless you have prior and proficient knowledge of the course. Otherwise, good luck.
Well this guy just useless like he don't even speak English at all and he got the sloppiest hand writing you will even see. Like you can't understand anything in his class. so I highly recommend you to not bother taking his class!!
Not at all a bad professor... lets students use notes on quizzes and cheat sheets on exams. All it takes is a little effort and you will get an A. Gives take home quizzes- easy points, etc. He is available during office hours for help also. His accent is not that bad. Math requires studying. Study at home and you will do fine.
He is really smart in math and he knows what he's talking about but you can bearly understand what he's saying. If you ask him a question and you still dont get the problem he will get mad and starts giving you attitude. He lets us use cheat sheets for tests and quizzes. But overall he's alright
very cool professor lets u use notes and a calculator on quiz's & exams. HW is harder than the exams. He also tells u what to study for. two take home quiz's worth 200pts. and 10 weeks worth of HW 10pts each. HE even gave us a take home exam. Accent is strong but u will get used to it and understand what he says. and he makes learning math easy.
Truneh is super easy to pass as long as you take notes or somewhat attend class.. He lets you use notes on quizzes and open notes for select tests. His grading policy is really fair.. he's pretty much there to just help you not fail his class.
His accent is terrible. He is a fickle person. In the beginning he said we could use a note sheet. Then before every test, he would say we can't use it.
writes in cursive, has a heavy accent pretty lenient though and the book helps throughout the class, let you use graphing calculators on every tests and quiz in 150
I really loved this professor, he's rough around the edges but he gives you so many opportunities to get an A in the class. Homework is graded, gives you quizzes every Monday, drops 3 lowest quizzes, gives you 2 take home exams (which are easy As). I'm taking him for Calc 2 and 3. I don't even notice the accent, accents never bothered me.
Took him two semesters (Calcs 1 and 2) and go A for both classes, however I worked hard and did all homeworks and studied for all in class quizzes which helped to push my grades up....He is a nice guy but sometimes he could be more flexible and give more extra credits, but compared to other professors it seems that he is the most "generous" prof.
Not the most enthused of professors out there, but def knows his stuff. He sometimes moves really fast in class, which is a bummer, but he does give many opportunities to get points (HW, quizzes, etc.). Also let us use a formula sheet or unit circle on some tests and quizzes, which helps a lot. Do your HW, and I think you'll be okay in this class.
He is a very good teacher after having a lousy one at a diff. school. He is very clear(logically speaking) & gives lots of chances to gain points. I love that we can use formula sheet during test. Yes he has an accent but it's easier to get used too than others.
Dr. Truneh is an amazing teacher, with an accent. He knows everything you could want to know about math up to a graduate level. His quizzes are usually problems already worked on the board. He frequently lets you use 1 page notes for tests AND gives two take homes for the easy A. Every final is based off problems that he already did in class.
Very confusing guy. He writes in cursive (even numbers) and his handwriting is hardly legible. His accent is tough at first but you SORT of get used to it. This class was mildly difficult and every question asked was met with tension and a half answered (if at all) response. The tests seem purposely harder than all the homework questions.
I had this teacher for calc 2 & 3 and he's very smart and knows what he is talking about, but has a very strong accent that is hard to understand, bad handwriting & he writes all over the board so its kinda hard to follow when your taking notes. Positives tho is you get 2 take home test & more ways to get easy points! DO THE HW!!!-and you will pass
No doubt he is a smart person and knows what he is talking about. BUT I can't understand anything he writes or speaks. He has a strong accent and his writing is illegible. It is very very frustrating. The students in the class teach each other because no one understands what he says. I wish I would have dropped his class while I had the chance.
Terrible teacher! I dropped the class and I'm usually very good at math. He is impossible to understand and speaks very quietly. He faces the board the whole time just solving problems and doesn't explain how to do them! He doesn't know how to answer questions and expects that everyone is just following with him just fine. I would not suggest him.
Great Professor! He has a tough accent but its understandable. He faces the board the whole time solving problems but follow along or you'll get lost. Glad the concepts are based from the textbook so you don't have to use different sources. USE THE TEXTBOOK and surprise you'll see some of the problems on the test. if youre good on math, take him!
Overall, not a good experience. Only one (very difficult) take home test, extremely difficult chapters learned at a faster pace than easier chapters, his explanations are extremely vague (patrick jmt is more helpful), and EXAMS ARE NOT curved. BUT, he allows us to use specific photocopies of formulas from the book and drops 3 lowest quiz scores.
If you don't spend 5-10 hours a week studying the material you won't receive the grade you want. The only thing that bugs me is that he teaches new material before testing the old material, which complicates everything. Other than that his accent and handwriting isn't really that difficult to decipher, the tests are predictable, and he seems nice
I didn't have a problem with him or the class until the last session. He told us our comprehensive final would be 10 questions from previous tests, however he changed his mind last minute and gave us a hard 12 question test with new questions. It probably dropped me from an A to a B because he couldn't have just told us. Pathetic
Most of the exams are pretty easy. Just do the homework. Sometimes I think he is not very fair grading, he is not very clear explaining either, he tries his best. I just had an awesome experience before and He is not as great, he doesnt show enough confidence knowledge-wise. A little disappointing for me.
Hard to understand him most/all of the time. Majority of the grade is based on homework and he drops 2 quizzes so that helps your grade a little. Just do the work and you'll be fine.
DO EVERY HOMEWORK! you will ace his class if you turn in all of your homework! he has a very strong accent but he is very kind. He allows his students to use their phones during class.
Truneh is no doubt the best Math professor who really makes sure students learn and are fully prepare for each section before each exam. Explanations can be at times vague or too fast, but the textbook is useful. Overall, I would take his class again.
Professor Yohannes Truneh is a professor that cares about his students. I took this class a couple semesters ago and forgot to write a review. Great Professor!
Mean, impatient, and aggressive. don't bother to ask anything for the second time, he will embarrass you in front of the class. Most of the time he talks to himself while writing notes on the board and does not leave you time to process the material. The class was easy, probably because he wanted to make up for his terrible teaching.
If you're not good at math like me, it's going to be a struggle. Make sure to pay attention if you take him. Textbook is super confusing, example problems nothing like the homework.
This guy is a horrible teacher. For multivariable calculus his drawings sucked and he doesn't make you draw all possible quadric surfaces; he said himself that he cant even draw the saddle. If you miss something little on the exam, all points are taken off and his teaching/communication is bad.
I have A's or B's in my previous math classes until now. I did all the homework and i did my best on tests and quizzes and failed the class. I got A on all homeworks and A in quizes. But tests were hard. He doesnt explain anything, you will not learn. He only solves problems without explanation. FIRST MATH CLASS I FAILED IN MY LIFE
Extremely intelligent man. Hard to understand and even harder to read his handwriting. Class wasn't easy, but he does give extra credit. If you take this class, I recommend studying to get the grade. Nice guy, but not the best teacher around.
From the first day I had no clue what was going on in that class, could not read his hand writing, could not hear nor understand what was being said, and to make it worse he would lecture very fast. I had to last minute drop by the 'W' deadline; there was no hope of me passing. Even youtube coudn't save me in this math class.
Well i had to teach myself multivariable calculus which was not easy.
You end up teaching yourself. The exams are difficult and a lot of people do poorly, so Truneh gives extra credit to make up for how horrible a professor he is. Explanations, if they are even given, are really poor and confusing. I wouldn't take him again if you paid me.
Worst Professor I've ever had in college. Not enough time to complete his exams. At least 70% of my class Withdrew or Failed. He's completely inarticulate; you'll have a better chance understanding Swahili with no prior knowledge. Using the book to self-teach is mandatory. I'm typically nice, but I really hope he loses his job. Do NOT take him.
Truneh is smart and it shows in his teaching. Doesn't have a lot of tools to help illuminate something because it all seems so obvious to him! He runs his class old-school, he's not afraid to call you out for skipping in front of everybody. He wants you to pass. Lots of extra credit! Sneaky sense of humor. Do the homework. He's reasonable and fair.
I took his Linear class while in high school and he was way better than any professor in terms of work load. You'll have to read the book but if you can self-study, take him.
This professor was legit. It can be difficult to follow his notes on the board because of his handwriting but not that bad. I thought this class was going to be insanely hard in the beginning but just work hard and study you will pass. Also he is super nice and funny
Has extra credit, has a take home test (half the grade of regular test), does not have suprise questions on tests, goes over questions before lectures in class. Overall, there aren't a lot of ways to make calculus 3 easy, however, Truneh provides you with opportunities to compensate for poor test grades. Would take again.
Seems like a really smart and nice guy. However as a professor the only people who should take this class are those who self-teach. Not very helpful as well.
Difficult if you're not a math person, it's mostly self study. Asking questions didn't help me so I just had to read the book. Highest test is 300pts, 2 middle tests each 200pts &lowest test counts out of 100pts. 50pts E.C offered (super useful!), take home test (100pts), Homework (100pts), and you can miss a week or two of hw, for full pts.
Awful lecturer. I could not understand his accent nor could I hear him through his mono toned voice. His Handwriting is awful so good luck trying to decipher your notes. The only way to do well in this class is to self teach, so if that isn't for you, look elsewhere.
He's hard to understand, but he's a good professor. I'm sure he's better in person, but online learning is a bit of a setback for him. If you're patient you'll learn. I've liked math before taking his Calc 2 class.
This prof was a generous grader online. the final had a curve. he explained things well, answers your question accurately. he even set aside extra office hours on weekends to help me. i learned calc 2 pretty well from this class :) take him in person he is hilarious and chill.
I had Dr. Yohannes a year ago and he really tried his best to help the students. He is amazingly smart and knows calculus inside-out. Best math professor I had.
