Prof. Bridges is a great teacher. She cares about her students and creates a great atmosphere for everyone in the room.
I took this class and expected to have essay after essay due, she cut an essay out of the syllabus because she hates grading papers. All semester we had 2 essays. If you come to class the day readings are discussed you will get a 100 on the quiz no matter if you answered it wrong. Good personality.
I took prof Bridges for 1301, she is amazing and such an easy class! She makes class extremely fun! 3 essays (really easy)! Turn in the essays on time and due the discussions and youll pass with an A! Such a great professor!
I took this professor for 1301 and 1302! her class is supper easy, 3 essays, 1 presentation and discussion post that are not hard at all. She is not a hard grader. she makes class very funny and fun! this class is an easy A, for both 1301 and 1302! take her, I promise you wont regret it! she's the best!
Very unorganized. I had a hybrid class but we had very little to talk about so she would say the same things every week. Always ask about assignments and due dates because she doesn't make it easy to find stuff. I found out halfway through the semester that I hadn't been doing the discussion posts. I didnt know we had discussion posts.
Her videos are funny if you watch them, do the work, and listen to the feedback you'll do great. You can tell she cares about her students anytime I needed help she gave it. A lot of assignments, 1 every week plus discussion posts. she explained everything well in video and audio so they were easy to do. She takes late work but you're accountable.
TAKE PROFESSOR Bridges!! She is an awesome professor, she gives good feedback in all the things you turn in. I took her 8 am class and I don't regret it, I'm not the best writer and I didn't find her class hard at all. I had 4 essays, maybe one quiz, and no midterm. She is super funny and a professor who knows what she is doing.
Professor Bridges was the best English teacher I've had so far. She genuinely cares for her student's understanding and growth as a writer. The criteria for papers are clear and she gives feedback that tells you what you can improve on. I had a fun time in her class and I looked forward to it every week. We wrote papers and had class discussions.
She is a good person, but as a professor I would not recommend her due to the fact that she is not very organized and tends to ramble a lot. If you want an easy class, I recommend her, but that is pretty much the only good thing that I have to say about her.
I took this class online 16week course online, definitely would take Professor Bridges again! She provides weekly videos going over the assignments (gives a lot of detail). Honestly, one of the best professors I've had throughout my college experience! Don't hesitate to take her!
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER, I read that she was a really good teacher, she gives no heads up to anything, does not respond to emails, and does not grade anything on time. I emailed her about me not being able to access some work, havent gotten a reply to this day. She also has a remind set up, never uses it and she has replied off.
Class is not organized well, so pay close attention to deadlines. She is tough grader considering it's a low level English class, but overall the class is not hard at all. If you miss an assignment and ask her about it, she will might not open it back up. Just quote the late work policy that's in the syllabus(it states late work is still accepted)
She was everything you want in a professor! Funny, caring, and sticks to the syllabus! The feedback is useful when you heed to her advice. Glad I took this course as a mini and would absolutely recommend it. I dont understand the negative reviews, I finished with a 101% average.
I took Technical Communications with Professor Bridges in a 3 week mini session, she provides clear video instructions, she gives great feedback on how to improve for future assignments. She's very responsive to emails. Overall great professor, class consisted of discussions for chapter edits and a couple of writing assignments.
Watch the videos, which are hilarious. Loved her class and teaching style. If you are looking for a sophomore English class, this is the professor! Stay on top of your assignments and you'll be finished before you know it. For a 3 week mini-mester this is a breeze. One of the best at Lone Star.
Would definitely recommend Professor Bridges!
I am lazy and Ms. Yolanda is cool. I work full time and im a full time mom! She records herself and tells you exactly what to do. If i can do it you can do it. shes is also very organized so easy to follow. no testing center
STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! She was the last professor remaining and I thought that she was a great teacher based on these reviews. WRONG. She is a super tough grader, not understanding of her students, and does not even read emails thoroughly.
Gave weekly busy work in the form of graded discussion posts and elementary level editing exorcises. Posts weekly essay assignments that should be easy, but are graded by a emotional professor that doesnt follow her own rubric. lecture videos are unpracticed and is full of her bragging about her life. she posts grades 4 weeks late consistently.
Said we needed Microsoft Word so I made an agreement with her allowing me to use a different app for the class. Grades for the class came back weeks after the fist due date. Every assignment had 15 points removed for formatting due to the app. When I confronted her over the issue I was told it was a personal problem. First english B in 10 years.
I went off her example exactly and she gave me a C because I did not format it correctly. Sometimes she is an easy grader and other times she is awful. Would not recommend.
One of the hardest eight weeks I've ever had. She gave four total essays, all of which have to be at least 3 whole pages, and most likely all of them will get a D because of how hard she grades them. You should also expect to make 3 discussion posts every week, and some quizzes (although those were actually really easy). Do not take.
8WK class - I just didn't like that the four essays that she gave us (3+ whole pages) the topics were a bit complicated to create the amount of pages she expected. Also you should expect to make 2 or 3 discussion posts every week, and some quizzes (ONLY thing that was easy LOL). ONLY take if you have no other choice!
Professor Bridges is average, & if you take her class, you will do all right. Some aspects of her class I enjoyed were the weekly check-ins; it gives you time to write and get to know your classmates. As well as her video lectures to explain each assignment in detail. But sometimes on her grading, it was not exactly clear what she was taking off.
I enjoyed this class, learned a lot. If you keep up with the assignments you'll do fine. She uses the Turnitin grademark to grade papers. There are a few rewriting assignments and chapter quizzes. It was an easy A. Take her.
She is awesome! Very informative and helpful on your assignments and any questions you may have. Very accessible and helpful with your questions!
This professor presents assignments in a direct manner, as it is exactly related to the tasks. D2L content page is easy to read when work is due because it is separated by folder once opened up. Her message emails are kind to the topic when the work is incomplete or overdue, while this professor gives you plenty time to correct it.
Professor gives positive helping hand feed back for each assignment.
This professor was clear and straightforward. I only took an 8-week course; she didn't swamp me with many assignments. They were easy enough for me to work on the night before and still receive an A.
I took ENGL 2311 as an 8-week online course. All the material was ready at the beginning of the semester, and most assignments were not too difficult. Overall, she was very organized, and she graded assignments in a very timely manner. I have no complaints for the class.
I would take this professor's class again. Enjoyed receiving feedback on papers. The one issue I had was the different days and times for due dates. For instance, one week it would be Saturday at 3pm and the next week would be Sunday at 3pm. Clear grading criteria.
When I first signed up to take ENGL 1301, I didn't know what to expect when I took Professor Bridges' class, and I have to say that I made the right choice. For a while now, English wasn't one of my best subjects, but after working with Professor Bridges these past couple of months, I've been given a whole new perspective on English.
professor bridges is a great teacher I really liked the way she teaches she is very easy on work as well I feel like one thing she is big on is participation she will stand there in silence and wait for an answer she's a really humorous person as well makes jokes out of a lot of things I would recommend to take class with her
This professor is good! Be ready to get called on to read, she likes to make jokes during class, she makes sure everyone participates in class.
Professor Bridges is a very kind person, and she genuinely cares about her job and her students. That being said, her grading process was confusing and slightly annoying. Your grade starts at zero and grows throughout the semester. Additionally, it is paramount that you participate in class and that you constantly check the course page online.
I loved her she was always so nice and always smiling & she was always willing to help
When I taking this class, Ms.Bridges is an awesome teacher when she helped me explained the meaning of the passage. She didn't gave me lot of homework - even though I would like to-, but gave me discussion posts. You must have to do discussion posts before due date because it has a time limit. It's up to you if you wanted to take that class or not.
I took her online 3 week mini semester for ENGL 2311. I finished the entire semester worth of the class in about 14 hours or so and enjoyed how she was able to lay out all of the assignments at the very beginning of the course and let you complete them at your pace. My pace happened to be relatively fast.
Took the 3-week winter mini-mester course. Solid professor with all assignments laid out from the beginning. The book is very helpful. Make sure to read the documents provided and you will be good. The class is all up to you.
Stay organized and on top of the assignments. Dr. Bridges does an amazing job outlining the course for you. The textbook is required as well so make sure you have it.
She's the best English teacher I've had. I was stressed out before the class started but she helped me overcome it easily. Read the syllabus, text book, and watch her video for all assignments then you will be fine. She will tell you what you missed on the papers.
I took a fully online 3-week mini semester with Ms. Bridges. The course wasn't simple but wasn't too hard either. If you follow her rubrics, watch her videos, and use the textbook then you are golden.
Professor Bridges was the first mini-semester professor I have taken in a while and can proudly say that the 3 weeks I had with her just made me feel more confident as a writer moving forward. I definitely would recommend it to anyone who just wants a doable course along with great feedback!
Great prof. Very clear grading and easy-to-follow assignments. Just be aware of 6 PM due dates.
I took this class as a three week mini-mester and it was easy to manage. There is a clear organization to the class, our work consisted of writing assignments, quizzes, and discussion posts/exercises. Everything opened on the first day, so as long as you manage your time, this is a great class to take. She provides lots of resources too.
I took this class for 3 weeks. There was a lot of work but super easy. I could have made an "A" but I had a issue with my ebook so I had to call Pearson. But over all Ms. Bridges is a great teacher. Ms. Bridges gives great feed back, and gets assignments graded within a day or two. A wonderful teacher.
Great professor! Work at your own pace. She explains each assignment and whats required of it very well. Very sweet, would 100% recommend.
I took technical writing with her during a wintermester. This course was easy to do on holiday break, and it only took 1-2 days a week to get all my work done for that week. I would highly recommend taking this class during a wintermester. Professor Bridges had rubrics and videos for all assignments that outlined everything to do to get an A.
She was amazing to take for a winter mini-semester. Highly recommend!
Professor Bridges was excellent, and now is one of my favorite professors that I taken. Schedule each week to be assign with two days quiz day, two assignments days, two free days, and one D2L exercise. If you really want an easy class for the break take her! Every week is two quiz, two assignments, one exercise. Follow the rubic and feedback.
I took Professor Bridges for ENGL 2311, technical communications, over a 3-week winter mini-mester. There were 2 assignments, 2 quizzes and a few discussion posts due every week. Although it sounds like a lot, the instructions are clear and you can easily do all of the assignments for 1 week in 1 day. I would highly recommend taking her!
I took her winter 3-week-minimester and worked full time without any problems. She is very organized and provides great detail for every assignment. She makes a self-video explaining exactly what she is looking for. She has a great fun-loving energy about her too. I recommend taking her and don hesitate her class fills up super fast.
Easy assignments . Took bridges during the mini mester over the winter . Best decision ! Take her if you can !
I took the 3 week winter course. There were 5 quizzes, 6 writing assignments, and weekly discussion board posts and editing exercises. All assignments were very easy. For each writing assignment, Professor Bridges provided instructions, a rubric, and a video going over the instructions that made it clear what each assignment asked for.
Professor Bridges was awesome!! I took her for a winter mini-mester and she was great. It was a 16 week course in 3 weeks and she was extremely helpful explaining assignments. She is a tough grader so be sure to watch her videos closely, read the textbook, and follow the rubrics. She always left good feedback on all assignments too.
Professor Bridges is great. This class is pretty easy, but you do learn a lot about technical and professional communication which is a great skill to learn. Professor Bridges is very organized, so it is easy to navigate for an online class. She gives good feedback so you know how to improve in the next assignment.
Professor Bridges is a great teacher and reply emails quickly. Her class is very organized. Assignments are easy as long as you follow her instruction. She has instruction videos for each of her assignments. Highly recommend taking her class!
Took her in-person course and would definitely recommend her class! She was very attentive and funny. Gives good and fair feedback on her work and overall her work and lectures are easy to do and not time-consuming.
Took her in-person course and would definitely recommend her class! She was very attentive and funny. Gives good and fair feedback on her work and overall her work and lectures are easy to do and not time-consuming.
Professor Bridges was a great teacher. She's a very easy grader and will get back to you very fast. She also uses different ways to give the information. She makes a video and a reading format, whichever was is best for you.
Professer Bridges is a very easy teacher and makes things easy to understand. If you mess up she will let you know exactly what you did so you can fix it which is amazing!!
She's great, understanding, knowledgeable, and available. I would definitely recommend her class to other students. It was an online class so attendance was not mandatory but it is important to log in regularly to complete coursework. Amazing professor.
Great professor!! Just follow her class schedule and you will be fine. Send your assignment before you submitted and surely she will help you.
Professor Bridges is really a caring professor; she wants the best for her students. always there to help and respond fast. Just follow her course outline and you will be fine.
I am pleased to state that this course has surpassed my expectations. Professor Bridges is outstanding. She is extremely meticulous, patient, and enlightening. I appreciate her giving the class assignments that challenge our thinking and writing skills. I strongly recommend this course to anyone seeking to improve their writing abilities.
She is very straightforward when it comes to grading. Unlike other teachers, she gives good feedback. The only con is that she doesn't give extra credit and has hard datelines.
The textbook used for this class as well as the syllabus were exemplary. The amount of time given to complete assignments was adequate. Professor Bridges is a tough grader and you probably won't see your grades posted as quickly as you might like. But, you will definitely learn a lot in her class and she is fair. I would take her again.
She is a good professor, that is involved throughout the class and likes when people are involved too. She has become a little more strict when it comes to being late to class. She is now enforcing the 10 minute grace period to make it or you wont be allowed in.
She has random due dates throughout the week and assignments due at random times during the day. She rarely allows for extra time or extends due dates. The grading criteria are relatively strict, and you need to follow the examples from the textbook to a T. Overall, I didn't hate this class, but I would not choose to retake it.
Great professor. Everything you need to know is listed in context in her material. Lots of reading and writing but over all great professor
overall this professor sticks to the textbook and makes videos to help direct students over the assignments. Would definitely take this course again.
Great professor overall gives videoed to help students over coursework.
I took this class as a hybrid course in spring 2023 and enjoyed it. There were times where I had to miss class in order to do other things like take my dog to the vet and it was nice to not have to worry about my attendance. She gave good feedback on TurnItIn and the assignments were spaced evenly. We also didn't have any tests which was nice.
This was overall a good class and good professor. There weren't any tests just assingments that were pretty well spaced out. Would take again.
I am a typically shy student but I really participated in this class. It was an open and judgement free environment where the professor really wanted you to understand the assignments and get a good grade. The textbook and the professors examples helped me with my assignments. Gives good feedback. Just do the work and this will be an easy A.
Professor Bridges has been an amazing help with this course and gives really great feedback to her students. Her assignments are very thorough and clear.
This is a class that you never knew you needed. Professor B is perfect. She provides distinct videos to help with all assignments and gives excellent feedback when needed. She is easily accessible and will improve your technical writing skills. Thanks, Professor B!
Professor Bridges made the class very enjoyable and educational at the same time. She has a great humor and makes the lesson interesting.
Professor Bridges lays out the assignments each week and she is very easy on assignments. As long as you do the work to the best of your ability you will do great in her class! If you have not turned in an assignment she gives you until the week before finals to turn it in. Discussion posts are closed after the due date.
Professor Bridges is an amazing professor. I thought I was a decent writer until I took this course. Professor Bridges made sure that she explained everything to me. I left this course feeling much more confident about writing. If you want a compassionate professor who cares about her student please take Professor Bridges.
I took professor Bridges this Spring semester. I love that she makes videos for the work she expects us to turn in; she goes over it step by step to make sure we understand the assignment. She always replies to our questions. Over all she is a great professor; she truly cares about her students learning.
I took the 16-week Technical and Business Writing course online. She posts detailed videos and written documents explaining how to complete each assignment. She gives detailed feedback with grades. At times, her feedback can be very specific where you may not have known that was her expectation, but overall, good professor.
She was great easy A class but very strict on her instructions on how she wants her assignements completed and turned in.
I think your outlook on this class is going to depend more on yourself than the professor. If you do well in English, you will likely do well and breeze through this course. The quizzes are 3-4 questions, open book and you have 2 chances to take it. She seems to be a fair grader on assignments. I could have taken a shortened semester and been fine
She provides very helpful videos to understand the assignments and shows she genuinely cares for her students. Awesome professor!
Spend extra time on essays because they will be reviewed with plenty of commentary.
Helps improve writing emails, cover letters, ect. Not a hard class if you do all the work and listen to feedback.
Easy class if you do all the work and listen to feedback.
Professor Bridges lays out the assignments each week and she is very easy on assignments. As long as you do the work to the best of your ability you will do great in her class! If you have not turned in an assignment she gives you until the week before finals to turn it in. Discussion posts are closed after the due date. Videos provided.
This is my second semester with Professor Yolanda Bridges, and I was looking forward to retaking her class well and taking the other half of English, English 1302. I will have to say that this semester wasn't as easy as the first semester, but other than that, she's still a fantastic Professor. I was glad I had her as a teacher.
Professor Yolanda Bridges has been such a fantastic professor; she's helped me with getting better when it comes to writing. ENGL 1302 was a bit more challenging than 1301, but it was still a great and helpful class. I recommend Professor Bridges as your instructor to anyone taking ENGL 1301 this coming fall; she is a suitable class.
For future students taking ENGL 1301 or ENGL 1302 and struggling to find the right professor, I would recommend Professor Yolanda Bridges. She's been the best college English teacher I could work with, and I'm glad I got to take both of her classes and gain the knowledge I gained from writing.
An easy and enjoyable course. I learned quite a few skills that I will be using to excel in my career.
Professor Bridges is amazing and made this class very easy. I took her online class during the spring semester but I wish I would have taken it in the summer to better utilize my classes. By far this is the easiest class I have taken. There are assignments due every week but they are super simple which usually take no more than 30 minutes to finish
I believed this class would be challenging, but it ended up being easy. The grading criteria and the videos she provides for the written assignments are very clear.
Prof. Bridges mentioned that in the next semester, she was going to input grades for a presentation. She also had us do multiple exercises where you teach yourself and the class. This class also had discussion posts and online editing exercises. All of the assignments are turned in online as well.
Took this course for 16 weeks online. Detailed videos and documents explaining each assignment. Average workload each week. This class helped improve my writing knowledge and skills for the professional world. Would take her again.
definitely would retake her; she has guided me thru with better communication and writing that featured comprehensive videos and instructional materials for every assignment. The workload was reasonable each week
Comprised of discussion posts, exercises, writing assignments, and quizzes. Class is well organized and instructions are clear. All assignments are easy.
Comprised of discussions, exercises, writing assignments, and quizzes. All easy. Well-organized and clear instructions.
The class I took with this professor was amazing. There are very clear instructions for papers and if you follow them and the rubric the assignments are easy A's. It is also a very manageable workload.
It was an easy class that provided me with skills that will help me in the future. There aren't many assignments but the ones you do have are are pretty straightforward. She also includes a video with each assignment, fully explaining it. You should really consider taking the class.
Prof. Bridges provides very helpful guides to her assignments. Watch the videos she posts with the instruction forms and watch out for those submission deadlines! Grading is fair, gives good constructive feedback. The coursework is manageable and can be a bit challenging at times. I'd recommend this class for anyone!
The professor really didn't hand out to much homework and if there was any it was a super small amount. We had few projects and that was the majority of our class was about. I highly recommend this class with this professor.
I took this class online with no problems whatsoever. The assignments and quizzes are easy. The D2L page is organized from the start and due dates are clearly listed for each week. The textbook is used to complete and act as a guideline for assignments. This is a very easy class and is worth it to take if you have hard classes as well.
This is a very easy class to take. Not a tough grader. Just stay up to date with assignments and you'll be just fine.
This class is AMAZING! Don't think twice just take it :) Professor Bridges is very nice& welcoming. Her instructions are very clear and helpful. assignments were due weekly, every Wednesday/Saturday. All assignments were very relevant and I definitely learned a lot. not a heavy class I work full time and have other classes and it was fine
Professor bridges is an amazing teacher her assignments are straight forward. All you got to do is follow the instructions and you'll pass. Definitely recommend taking if you want to get a good grade.
If you get your work in this class should be easy for you. Make sure to do the discussions.
Professor Bridges makes learning fun! She is very straightforward and works with you. This class is very easy, all you need to do is turn everything in on time and do the discussions!
This class is easy. Just make sure to do the essays and discussion post.
I love professor Bridges! She makes learning fun and is understanding of situations you may have.
Professor Bridges sets you up for success from the beginning, she is great at explaining what is expected and how to get there.
This class is an easy grade just make sure to do discussion post and essays.
professor bridges is a great teacher she is very easy on the work and gives you opportunities for extra credit you just have to pay attention and you'll be set and BE ON TIME
very easy class if you show up and pay attention
Professor Bridges is really clear about the instructions given. She provides both written and video instructions. Get ready for alot of discussions, but again she literally tells you everything you need to do so she doesn't leave you without any help. A pretty great professor if you do your job and communicate your needs as well.
Good professor overall; homework was not too hard.
Good professor overall. Homework was not too hard.
Takes forever to grade assignments and forgets to answer back emails.
Professor bridges is very respectful and caring. If I had a chance to take another course with Professor Bridges again, I would.
Professor Bridges is very particular about her grading, although she does give chances to earn more points through other approaches. Make sure you follow her guidelines to a T. However, she does explain why she deducted points; there is no room for interpretation.
I took professor bridges class over the summer, and I would 100% take her again. The class teaches you a lot that you can use outside in the real world. Even though it was a summer class it was not as stressful.
I took this online for three weeks. The professor was very nice and thorough in explaining the assignment. In total, we did 7 discussions, 5 quizzes, and 5 papers, all easy! The textbook can be found online, the course required the 15th but the 14th edition is the exact same! I would take this professor again, all assignments were very easy!!
For all of her assignments, she uploads a video of herself explaining the instructions and what needs to be expected, along with written instructions. This is very helpful if you struggle to learn online. Her class is super easy. The textbook is required. If you are looking to take her, DO IT! She's so nice and wants her students to succeed.
I took this class for a 3 week mini-mester, it was very easy. All coursework is laid out from day 1 and it's clear on what you have to do. All the assignments are very easy and simple. Would definitely take again and recommend for anyone else.
Professor Bridges is an amazing professor. She outlines exactly what she's looking for in each assignment. 10/10 would recommend taking her!
Professor Bridges makes this class super easy and smooth. She gives really good videos explaining all of the main assignments clearly so you know exactly what to do. She's really understanding and helpful too. If you just complete all of the assignments on time, you'll for sure get an A. I definitely recommend taking her for this class!!
I honestly believe she is the best teacher to take this class. I took it online but there is a lot of time between assignments. When doing the assignments follow the prompts. Please pay attention to what she's asking. She has been a great professor. I am glad that she gives extra credit to boost your grade. Ms. Bridges is an excellent professor.
She is the best teacher to teach this course. I took it online and there is a lot of time between the assignments. I did not feel rushed to get assignments done. She gives all the assignments at the beginning of the class and you can get ahead which is really nice. She is picky about the little things so be aware of that. Overall, great teacher!
Professor Bridges had the entire semester's content available from the start, and I was able to finish the content far before the due date. None of the assignments take too much time to complete. Overall, the format and content made the class super enjoyable.
I took Professor Bridges online for a summer session and it was great. All of her assignments are spaced out during the week and are not hard. She is very clear in her instruction. She replies fast to emails if you have any questions.
She is a tough grader! Sometimes her instructional guidelines do not match up with her feedback. Always read the feedback! Weekly discussions and assignments are sporadically spread out throughout the week due at 6pm.
Professor B is awesome definitely take her if you can. She posts videos explaining every assignment and goes into detail about what she expects from you. If you just do what she says and turn your work in on time you will get an A.
Great professor! Provides feedback on your submissions and the course is based on the chapter readings. Read the syllabus and complete all assignments. Be original since all work is processed through Turnitin. As long as you submit your work before 6:00pm you are fine, not 11:59pm. Highly recommended!
She is a very good professor to take. Be ready to participate when needed. Also you will need the textbook as you will be doing quizzes and short homework that will require the book. She is very fast when responding with work and is a somewhat harsh grader.
Professor Bridges was a great technical communication professor! Her course was very organized and she was clear about her expectations for each assignment. The textbook was needed for quizzes and writing exercises and was helpful to refer to for assignment examples. Overall, I would take Professor Bridges again for other courses.
Professor Bridges has been one of my favorite professors at Lone Star. She is quick to answer questions and her assignments are clear and understandable.
Professor Bridges is an alright professor. She sometimes took off points for small details, but overall gave decent grades.
Great professor. Make sure you do your work and follow instructions carefully; she is picky about details. That's about it.
Professor Bridges is a nice teacher, but don't push your luck. Just because she will usually accept assignments late doesn't mean you should wait until the last minute to submit everything, but it won't be graded the same way it would be if you submitted it on time. Just do your stuff on time and everything will work out fine.
Professor Bridges is an excellent teacher. She has such a kind heart and truly wants everyone to succeed. I did a 6 week summer semester online, and it was definitely manageable. Every assignment is due at or before 6 p.m., so keep that noted. Overall she is excellent I would take her again.
She used the "turnitin" app, soooooo just know that!
Professor Bridges cares that her students effectively understand the course material. She clearly explains what an assignment should detail for optimal success. This was an 8-week course for me but was not an overload. From her video lectures, you can tell she is a humorous and friendly professor which are attributes I respect from professors.
Though many say she is a tough grader, I personally believe she is getting us ready for the real world. What employers want to see, how to stand out and most of all professionalism. Really enjoyed this course.
I loved the way she updated video instructions for every assignment.
I absolutely love the way Professor Bridges explained each assignment. She gave a heads-up on what was coming for each week. She was very clear on what she expected from her students. Very organized!
As a second language learner this class helped me a lot on my writing. Professor is caring and knowledgeable, she really know her material. The work is not hard, all you have to do is follow instructions, I took her for an 8wk course. Even is this short period you will learn a lot and will benefit you! TAKE HER!!!
I felt like I was docked points for so many things that I was not told to include or specified to do in the written instructions for assignments. I'd be docked for not including something that would have required me to have specific knowledge on a topic that was wildly unrelated to technical writing. May take her again. Easy A but frustrating.
For an online class the instructions are not very clear. The information provided about the entire course with her can be a little misleading.
Take this course if you need an egnlish credit to transfer over. She is very clear on when assignments are due and her quizzes are fair/easy.
Amazing professor. Always helps. Take her!
She has very clear grading criteria and will knock off points for the smallest things. Gives good feedback, and has videos explaining exactly how she wants her assignments done. Overall she's great, I would take this professor again.
I feel like a lot of the guidelines for papers and assignments for this course were not explained correctly. Again, it may have been easier in person, but this course helped me a lot in my interviews and professional life. There was many opportunities to ask questions, as the professor responds pretty fast. Overall, good/easy class.
Due dates are set in stone
All points taken off have a reason attached that is actionable for the next assignment. The quizzes are straight out of the book if you read the sections. Overall a great experience for a required class.
Good professor and class. Just make sure to stay on top of due dates.
Professor Bridges was a great professor, just a little tough when it comes to grading papers, she would take off points for the smallest error you make. Also, she gives a lot of information about the papers you'll be writing about.
I loved Professor Bridges, she was very clear and organized with instructions. I had a family member pass away during the course and she was very kind to give me an extension on an assignment. The assignments were easy and again, the instructions were clear which is always helpful.
This class was by far my favorite when it comes to structure. It's the only class I've ever taken where I felt all the information and assignments were relevant to day to day life. I took it as an 8-week class but it didn't feel too overwhelming, just beware of deadlines since they're usually due at 6PM instead of midnight.
The expectations are very clearly set for class and assignments.
She is very clear in her expectations and makes the class as easy as possible.
This professor is so easy going, and I would totally choose to take a course with her again. I encourage you to take her courses because if you are someone who has a job or other responsibilities to take care of, she is perfect because she rarely gives out of class work.
Will be taking a course with her again, sh sis the best. But if your class doesn't participate she will get upset and assign more work.
She is a great professor who gives great feedback to help improve your writing.
She is awesome! This course is straightforward! The quizzes are 4-5 questions and you can retake them twice. She uses the textbook only to get exercises from there. The quizzes are not recorded. This course is easy and highly recommend her.
Very easy and flexible class.
Very nice professor and the assignments were pretty easy as long as you follow the instruction you can get an A easily in this class.
The class overall was easy, just do the work to get a passing grade. She is very big in participation, if no one participates she will assign more work. I wouldn't take this professor again just because I did personally find her irritating because of weird noises and baby voices she would do during class time.
Loves class participation, the more you participate in discussion, the more you'll get out of the class. Has clear set due date for the same day of the week for every new assignment, which makes it easier to remember when things are due. Goes over things in class. Entertaining.
Grading criteria was very clear and she sticks to it even when there are many things you could have done better. Overall excellent and useful class. Only negative is that she may have a difficult time connecting with and understanding her students, but she is a superb instructor regardless.
Assignments were not too hard. Everything was usually graded fast. There are lots of discussions, but they were fairly easy to complete. Workload was pretty manageable. Enjoy the class and the professor. Highly recommend her.
Just take her.
Professor Bridges - has a set out schedule, follows the syllabus. There is alot of work, I actually missed three assignments (not on purpose) and still passed the course. Please make sure to read your instructions all the way through.
ASSIGNMENTS ARE ALL DUE AT 6PM! I took online this semester and the assignments aren't bad but I forgot multiple bc they are due early. Other than that I would recommend ENGL 2311 it's a really nice class.
Minimum papers
Minimum work
Assignments are due by 6 pm! Minimal assignments. We did a total of 2 papers, 1 presentation, and then our final. There are discussion posts every week. She made a lot of voices in class and it can get awkward when no one talks, so try and participate if you don't want to sit in silence. overall easy, didn't learn anything I didn't already know.
The professor is nice but it seemed as if she wasn't organized. Her assignments were confusing at times. Sometimes it seemed as if she had no lesson plan for the day, and just made up the assignment/topic as she went along. She's not a picky grader and usually gives back grades in a timely manner. She does care about her students though.
If you are planning on taking this class I highly recommend it. Professor Bridges shows she cares about her students.
She is a wonderful professor, if you have a chance to take her I would take it. She is a strict grader, but if you follow her videos and instructions for each assignment and follow the feedback she gives you, you will do great!
Probably one of the best and chill professors. Had an amazing time in her class and would recommend.
She is very caring, and quirky in a good and funny way. She goes over a lot of assignments in class to make sure we understand them. She gives a reasonably light workload, and she's a fast grader.
Was okay, didn't enjoy the drop box closing at 6pm though.
This professor is solid, and I could see myself recommending her. The class is so easy it's almost ridiculous, and her assignments are fairly short. Overall, I didn't mind taking her.
Prof Bridges is straightforward and lets you know everything that is expected for each assignment. She grades fairly and leaves good feedback on each written assignment. Take her class.
My experience with Mrs. Bridges was amazing. Despite other classes drowning me with work, Mrs. Bridges and her work loads were a relief. Although some assignments were tedious, most of the work was a breeze and accessible to complete at the start of each week.
Her workload isn't much but she grades your things truthfully. So keep that in mind.
she is very funny i would 100% take her again
Professor Bridges is a fantastic instructor; I enjoy the way she teaches and manages her class.
Professor Bridges can be a little confusing in her lectures and assignments from time to time, but once you understand what she means, she has made the assignment ten times easier and more comprehensible. She is an awesome teacher who will allow you to fight for your grade if you disagree with any of her grading decisions.
She was a bit disorganized and rambled during lectures but overall, she wasn't a harsh grader and didn't assign essay after essay after essay, we had variety in our projects and had choices between topics.
Helpful and gives good feedback on assignments.
Prof. Bridges is a great professor for this course, she prepared her students well and followed the syllabus accordingly. She gave recorded online lectures, quizzes, textbook exercises, check in discussions, and 4 major papers. She was timely with her grading, sent reminders for major grades, and was available and easy to reach for her students.
Professor Bridges is one of the best professors I've ever had! She's really funny and caring about her students. Just show her that her class and work matters, and you'll pass with an easy A. If you are trying to laugh and not be bored in class like any English class, she's the one. Lectures and essays are pretty easy. Totally recommend her!
Love her, homework was really easy and had lots of time to work on it. She is so funny!!
Professor Bridges ENGL1301 class was pretty interesting. She cares for her students and gives pretty good feedback. She also gives good advice that applies inside the classroom as well as for life in general. The class itself isn't that hard, but the assignments are pretty time-consuming, so don't wait till the last minute to do them.
It was a pretty good class.
I took Professor Bridges for English 1301. I really like her she has a fun personality and her class is a joy. As long as you stay on top of deadlines the work is not difficult. Do not be afraid to ask questions along the way she is willing to give good feedback. Overall a really great experience.
I love Professor Bridges. I'm not usually one to write a review, but she is a really good professor. Her instructions are clear and I was able to breeze through the online class in a few days. She also gives good feedback on writing assignments to help you see what you can work on! Definitely would recommend taking her!
I took this class as a winter course, so it was only 3 weeks long. There was not an insane amount of assignment and it was very manageable. The deadlines were all within reason and the assignment were not difficult to complete if you took the time to do them. This class was very manageable.
I took this class over 3 weeks and it was by far the easiest minimester I've taken. There were only a couple of assignments each week and I was able to complete nearly all of them within the first week. You do need the textbook but you can cancel it after 2 weeks for a refund. I would recommend Professor Bridges for this class.
I took Professor Bridges for a 3 week mini semester. This is one of the easiest classes I have taken and I was also able to finish the course in one week time. The grading was based on her rubric so as long as you follow that, you will do great.
I took this class during a minimester, and it was very straightforward. Everything was available from the beginning, allowing you to complete the course in just a few days. Each assignment came with clear instructions, accompanied by a video that went deeper into the posted instructions. I would take another class with this professor.
You will need a textbook to complete some assignments and quizzes. All her assignments are straightforward and she shares in depth videos to help complete them. 3 week course that you could finish in less time.
Professor Bridges was super charismatic in all of her lectures, and I would definitely take her again. I had her during a minimester so of course there was a lot of homework, but I cannot speak for her normal spring/fall classes.
It took her course online it was amazing. She gave out examples and which specific pages to read to the textbook. Though, her assignments are due at 6 pm. She is also great at respond to email quickly. Highly recommend take her during a mini semester.
Professor Bridges videos were very informative and helpful to understanding what her expectations were. I had a tough time with the 6:00p.m. deadline, but I was able to accomplish turning my work in on time.
Professor Bridges made the three-week minimester very manageable. There are assignments due nearly every day, but it's easy to work ahead. She provides a semester calendar with all the textbook readings that are needed to complete assignments. She also posts videos going over the assignment instructions and tells you exactly what she's looking for.
Best professor I have ever had. The only thing I would like to mention that was weird but still easily done was her due dates are at 6 pm as opposed to 11:59 pm but this is in part to help with the time management of her students. She truly cares. Very easy instructions and grades exactly as stated on the rubric.
Her work is very easy and understanding. If you need any help easy to get a responds back. She posts videos too explaining each assignment and it's so helpful.
There will be some assignments and quizzes that require you to use a textbook. Her assignments are straightforward, and she shares detailed videos to assist you. The deadline for submitting the assignment is 6:00 pm. For this class, I recommend Professor Bridges.
I took her online course it was quite easy. Her syllabus was straight forward and followed dates exactly. The only thing is that assignments are due at 6pm instead of the norm at 11:59pm. Totally recommend taking this course with this professor.
Prof is very organized, class is easy to follow and understand. Assignments have written instructions and video explanations. Follows grading rubric. Very useful class for business. Workload is manageable, unlike many classes where they bury you in work. I was not looking forward to an English course, I'm a math person. I really enjoyed this class.
Professor Bridges was amazing! She is down-to-earth, sweet, helpful, and 100% approachable! She made this course fun, as well as, beneficial in my current and future career! I would definitely take her again!!!
Professor Bridges was amazing! She is down-to-earth, sweet, helpful, and 100% approachable! I loved her video instructions. She was professional, easy to understand, and she goes above and beyond to ensure student success! She made this course fun, as well as, beneficial in my current and future career! I would definitely take her again!!!
She knows the subject well I feel that the student hours given by Professor Bridges were very unwelcoming T/Th from 645am-750am but as she mentioned "My pig My farm" The part that bothered me the most was when I would reach out to her office number at those times and would be greeted with her voicemail After leaving voicemails she did not call back
Professor Bridges knows the material The student hours given by Professor Bridges were very unwelcoming T/Th 645am-750am but as she mentioned "My pig My farm" The part that bothered me the most was when I would reach out to her office number at those times and would be greeted with her voicemail. good prof
She opens all assignments from day 1 of the class and I was able to knock them all out in 3 days. She grades pretty tough though, I messed up the format on one assignment (the format was not provided) and got a 60. Other than that it is easy.
This Professor is awesome!!
Prof. Bridges is very knowledgeable on the subject. She was consistent with the syllabus and for the assignments she provided helpful videos explaining the assignment and giving examples. If you read the book or at least skim the pages dedicated to the assignment you will pass no problem.
Online 8wk course. Clear homework assignments not long and not too much work, short papers are not difficult if you listen to lecture and pay attention to expectation of paper. Quizes are short and open book with 2 attempts, no reason not to make 100. No final, just a last paper, responds to questions less than 24 hours.
Professor Bridges is really good about grading on time. Just stay on top of your work, make sure you submit on time and you'll do great!
Shes a really good professor and she cares about her students I just wish she would respond to emails more because there were a few things I had problems with.
There are a lot of assignments but they are all straightforward. Her grading is particular but it helps you learn.
I would like other students to know that it is not that difficult if you keep up with your assignments. While it involves substantial reading and writing, the instructor's approach simplifies the learning process. Furthermore, the instructor is highly responsive and likely to provide prompt assistance when needed.
Professor Bridges is a amazing teacher. Her class went by so smooth and was not difficult at all!
Very personalized and tech savvy.
Professor Yolanda Bridges is an exceptional educator, with very informative and enjoyable classes. With clear communication and well-organized assignments, she ensures students grasp complex concepts easily. I highly recommend her class for a rewarding learning experience.
Really solid professor. Clearly outlines assignments and expectations for assignments. Very well organized. Doesn't really give busywork. Good vibes.
I have taken her classes twice (ENGL -1301 and ENGL - 1302) and she is a hilarious and caring professor. She gave good feedbacks for your essays. Her assignments were just discussions and 1 essay for each exam. I would say this was an easy class. Go take her!
I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Bridges ENGL 2311 class! Her class was not difficult at all. Just make sure that you keep up to date with assignments. There are at least two assignments every week. The only negative about her class was that it took her a long time to grade, but she is a very fair grader.
She was a pretty good professor. So times she can be a little mean but in a funny way.
Very easy Professor just do your assignments on time and you'll have no problems.
the professor is a caring person she will compromise on something if it means the class will be a better place for you not a lot of assignments and essays.
Funny professor, mostly laidback class with a nice atmosphere. One assignment was very confusing, that was it.
Profressor bridges teaches very well and is able to easily get her point across. I always learned something knew from her.
Love the professor, She has a very entertaining class!
She's an easy prof to take, the coursework is straightforward, not a heavy workload. Just attend class and complete your assignments and you'll pass. simple.
Professor Brides use of humor conveyed a sense of realism within the class. When attending English 1302 it didn't feel like a typical English class, but a class were you could be yourself and have fun, while clearly & simultaneously being able to learn.
Professor Bridges is a funny, and humble teacher whose use of humor allowed the subject of English to be an easy subject to learn. Professor Bridges used class discussion and papers as a means to help the student learn the text on their own terms, because of this it was easy to ask questions and understand the material at the same time.
Professor Bridges has a great sense of humor. That alone made the class fun to be part of. While she is not a stickler for perfect attendance, she does not care for late arrivals once the door is shut. She may not let you in immediately or at all. Lots of class participation and feedback. I would definitely take her again and recommend.
Professor Bridges is really funny which made the class really fun. I suggest to show up to class to stay on track. Make sure to check for Discussion Boards as I made the mistake to miss a couple, and they have a deadline and won't be opened again. Takes time for grades.
If you had bad experience with your last English course, Professor Bridges is the way to go. Not only would she listen to your response with full attention, but she also gives great feedback and is hilarious. If you are looking for a good class environment to be in, this is the one. Not exaggerating, but she is the best English professor I've had.
The class was a good learning experience. There were a few complications when figuring out the schedule, but it worked out in the end. Make sure to check the discussion posts regularly, many didn't realize discussion grades would be due and would miss out on them; she doesn't extend discussion post deadlines. The feedback and help is great.
Silly goofy lady, I love her. She's very freeing, thoughtful, and upbeat. Really woke me up for the day, and the assignments were reasonably good. Her essays were simple, and was very understanding to my class. Feedback was long and thought-out.
She is very organized and patient. She is a fair grader, and she is very open with communications with the students. Totally recommend her
Easy course and professor explains assignments well.
This class was easy but you really have to stay on top of your work because assignments are due at 6pm on Thursdays. She will often give you 0s if you don't attend class and wont let you make them up. Shes also very hard to reach outside of class.
Great professor overall, make sure to read the textbook, and do everything in time.
Great professor. Not too much work, and she is very lenient with extra credit opportunities. Would take again!
Professor Bridges' course was overall a good experience. Attendance was not mandatory however I would highly recommend students to show up because most of her classes are discussions on assignments. She is pretty strict on good formatting and is straight to the point. Just do your work and don't slack.
She is an amazing teacher all around.
She is a good professor, and has a very well structured class. Major assignments are due every 2 weeks and there's short weekly discussions. She is a little picky with grading and takes off points for little mistakes but as long as you proofread and read all the instructions for each assignment you should be fine.
Prof Bridges class is one that definitely does not feel sluggish or overbearing, making the content that you have to learn feel a lot easier to digest, the biggest takeaway is that she wants you to actually use the lessons outside of the class. Majority of the major assignments are due earlier in the week so make sure to have reminders on.
There's not much to say other than that the class was very straightforward and organized. A major assignment due every 2ish weeks on Wednesdays. Prof Bridges was easy to get in contact with and usually responded within 48 hours, very open to helping. Make sure you follow all instructions/check your assignments against the rubric and you'll do well.
Definitely show up to class. There were assignments I received zeros for because I wasn't in class. So, make sure to be there. Teacher is fun and energetic. Sometimes kind of random but she will work with you not against you.
This course can be easy if you are punctual with due dates. Assignments for this course are usually due on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Great professor. Relatable assignments, only thing is that I learned from reading the book and not her teachings.
Read RMP reviews on her class and boy was i mislead! Her lectures were odd and i felt like i was never learning anything. everything is due at 6pm and she is hard to reach outside of the classroom. If you have another option for an english professor just go with that one. Don't waste your time and money.
Assignments are due in the middle of the week on Wednesdays at 6pm!!! In the beginning, I overlooked the due time and almost missed turning in my first assignment. The rubrics tell you everything you need and most assignments had plenty of visual examples in the textbook.
This was a great class, Professor Bridges did a great job providing information and videos to guide through each assignment. Beware she is a hard grader, everything needs to be perfect, but do not hesitate to ask questions. Took as a mini-mester, everything was open from the first day I was able to complete the course in only a few days. TAKE HER!
Prof. Bridges is a definition of dedicated teacher and an expert in her profession. She took times to summarize texts from textbook to her own slides and explain to her students. I highly recommend everyone who is struggling with technical communication should take her!
Make sure you have your textbook or you won't be able to complete the majority of her coursework.
An amazing professor; she clearly explains what she expects from you and provides rubrics on almost all major writing assignments. Based on her curriculum, she clearly wants to teach us valuable skills, not fill us up to the brim with random assignments that appear to serve little use. Would recommend 100% for minimesters.
Took the 3-week summer course so everything went by pretty quickly. She had a clear grading criteria and provided feedback on the assignments. But make sure to turn in assignments on time as they should not take long considering how long the course is. With that in mind she grades things pretty quickly, usually the following day after it's due.
Teaching style was direct and conveyed material clearly through a combination of videos, PowerPoints, textbook reference, and written instructions. 5 quizzes, 9 written assignments, 6 exercises from the textbook.
Good class, technical writing is a dry subject but with this professor it isn't too bad!
If you need an ENGL 2311 credit take this class, it's an EASY A. You're gonna have to do work, but the work can be completed by a monkey. I'm taking 2 may minimester classes at the same time with 2 jobs and this class was easily manageable. Just do your work and follow the rubric.
I took a three-week summer mini and was very pleasantly surprised. The class and assignments were much easier than I expected. There's really nothing to worry about with this class, just turn in your work on time. There weren't too many assignments, and it was all very manageable. Absolutely recommend Professor Bridges, I had a great experience!
This class was relatively easy if you are willing to put in the time to read the textbook. It is also a great class to take that will benefit many in their future careers. She gave good feedback on the graded assignments and was clear on what to work on.
Incredibly easy to do well in the course as long as you make an effort. Clear instructions/expectations. Very easy to reach via email. If you buy the digital version of the textbook, do it directly through PearsonPlus.
Clear cut teacher with very easy coursework. As long as you stay ahead and work on time, you are almost guaranteed to pass.
Overall incredible teacher over the summer, very easy layout of what is expected during each week. Very hard to receive a bad grade in her class, but don't expect it to by easy. Writing assignments were very easy to follow and had clear layout/rubric of what was required for each paper. Overall very good experience! If you can take her, taker her!
Overall incredible teacher and super easy material to follow during the 6 week summer class. Would gladly take again if needed!
Professor Bridges was readily providing feedback as well as having clear instructions on what needed to be taken care of each week. The assignment deadlines were not unreasonable and they assignments were informative and helpful without being too difficult for a summer class when time is of the essence.
Professor Bridges was very great! Her class is easy and I 100% recommend taking her. You'll learn great information and be able to handle the work given in her class. I took her class only 6 weeks and I was able to finish the work in no time! Please take her, you won't regret it!
Professor Yolanda Bridges is an outstanding educator in English Technical & Business. She engages students with interactive and well-organized lectures, ensuring everyone participates and learns effectively. Her passion for the subject is evident and inspiring, making her class informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend Professor Bridges.
I had noticed all of the high reviews so I decided to enroll. Overall the workload was manageable even if the class was six weeks long. They will take off points for some really minute details so don't think the class will be simple coast either. Get work done on time and follow instructions closely so that the class goes by smoothly.
Professor Bridges is very caring and makes sure you have everything you need to succeed. She posts in detail videos regarding the assignments that explain exactly what to do and how to do it. She always gives great feedback and is very detailed. She is always enthusiastic in her videos, and you can tell she loves her job.
