This professor is by far one of the BEST math professors I've had! He is very knowledgeable about the subjects and will not hesitate to help you as long as you ask. This class is really easy. Show up to class for lectures(powerpoints). During lecture he takes the time to answer questions and make sure that everyone understands. The homework and quizzes are done online. Buying a textbook isn't required. He gives study guides that are exactly like the test.

This class is a great beginners class with someone who is having a hard time understanding. You learn bits and pieces of each subject of math and this professor makes it very easy to understand. He makes sure he is thorough in his lectures and is always more than willing to help. I recommend this professor and class 110% :)

Proffesor Getahun runs a very organized class. His lectures are pretty interesting and he is very helpful in teaching you the content. He does have a pretty thick accent but it is easy for you to understand if you pay attention and listen. Make sure to do your MyMathLab homework because it is for a grade but he doesnt really remind you to do it.

This can be an easy A if you can just get pass the instructor accent. He will go to every student to ensure that you have a good understanding. He gives out study sheet for exams. If you do the math lab and study you will get an A.

Professor Yonas is a great teacher. He is 100% willing to assist you with any questions and will attempt to work with you on any issues you are having personal or educational. The material is easy to pick up and understand if you pay attention and attend class. His study guides for each test are almost identical to the test, use them! Take him!

Attendance helps, but I had to miss a lot of the classes for valid reasons and he worked with me to stay on track. Really nice guy. If you follow the study guide and do the work you'll be fine. He's happy to help you anytime.

Prof. Getahun is a great instructor. He has an accent that you get used to after a while. Attendance is super important. He breaks every lesson down for you to where you can understand the material better, and he expects class participation. Study guides are you golden ticket to passing his class! I had him this past summer and i got an A. All homework and quizzes are on my stat lab and the lowest two quiz grades get dropped. There are three test including your final in class but if you go to class and follow the study guides they are easy A's

Mr. Yonas was Great He gives total of three exam and six quizzes. He is accessible outside classroom and participation counts. He also gives extra credit but you must attend class. He also gives study guides that helps for exams. Very straight forward and he expects you to listen. Only had to purchase Pearson.

He really helps students learn, also if you show up to class and pay attention you will easily learn the material because he teaches it very well and provides adequate practice. Professor Yonas is great. He gives you a study guide which you have to study for the exam. If you do the study guide, you will get an A in the exam. Professor Getahun was Great. I took the 3 hr class which was once a week so there is alot of material to cover. His teaching style is pretty fast but he is clear and willing to go over anything you do not understand. DO NOT be discourages by the homework If you apply yourself, you will pass with flying colors. Oh and all test are multiple choice.

He is really nice plus he goes over the study guide answers which is the exact same format on the tests. The tests are short but as long as you do the study guides before the test you should be good. Plus he allows you to use a half sheet of paper with any formulas you need on any test along with your calculator .

Got both A on STA2023 and MAC2233 with him. Difficult classes become very simple with his proficient and special methods. Its amazing that we didnt need to read textbook at all and just followed his note and we somehow mastered our courses. He went over every question on the study guides (same on exams and can use formula sheet). Best Pro.

Really straight forward professor. He has an accent but still very understandable. I took a 7 week class so it was very fast paced. Do not take a 7 week math class if you expect slow instruction! This professor ensures that every student understands the course content and this was a 7 week class. As long as you go to class you should pass. The professor teaches well.

This professor is great, but I don't recommend taking a 7 week class because he does explain things very rapidly. However, if students have any questions, he is very happy to answer them very clearly and directly. In addition, 75% overall grade are from the 3 exams and the last 25% is from homework. I would study the study guide he gives you.

I took a 7 week hybrid course so pace was very accelerated. You MUST attend classes because he gives you tips that are not in the book which makes it much easier to understand. Do the homework, study what he tells you, and do the study guides and you can pass with an A. He is very open to questions and helping you understand.

Prof Yonas is great and I really have enjoyed this class. My single criticism would be that sometimes he explains a concept in such a way that it confuses the whole class and then he doesn't seem to be able to reword it. He just keeps saying the original explanation over and over while frustrations rise. Other than that he's great!

This was the best math class I have ever taken. I took a short 7 week college algebra class and this professor takes the cake. There was only 3 test. no quizzes. Homework and test was based solely on what he taught the week before. The final is only what he taught prior to taking it. Not just one final covering everything in the class. I hate math

This is by far the best professor I have ever taken, Math is not my strong subject but with him he makes it so easy. I took this class online which means no lectures which I was a little bit hesitant about but the videos and instructions he posted with the homework makes it so easy and enjoyable to learn.

He is quite enthusiastic about the class, so be prepared for his bursts of excitement as he teaches. There were only 3 tests, homework/quizzes are due the last week. Being that I find math difficult this was relieving. Even when I was not able to understand in class he gave enough material in the classroom to take notes and teach myself at home.

Math is not my strong suit and taking it online made me very hesitant. But the resources and material that is given to you make the class a breeze. You will need to study the material and make sure you understand the concepts before moving on. The practice tests are identical so I recommend taking them multiple times. Unlimited attempts on quizzes.

Dr. Getahun does a great job teaching difficult material to people really just starting out as IT majors. Every question you have is answered accurately and concisely. If you need help he will always show up before class to help you with your concerns, he truly cares that you pass the class. I would definitely recommend this professor to anyone

Professor Getahun is a gem. I enjoyed his lectures because they were always to the point, detailed, and repetitive to the point of making sense without becoming boring. I took College Algebra with him online and MAN it was a hard class. 3 or 4 proctored tests. I had technical difficulties and was unable to complete 2 of my tests on time and he personally called me and extended the test deadline more than a week for me just so I could take it. All work was in Pearson, but the professor does his best help.

I took this STATs class at the downtown FSCJ campus on Saturdays. This professor was awesome. Class was fun, and you could tell he cared about making sure you understood the material. I would def take him again. I wish he taught QMB3250.

I took during the summer, it was a seven week class and we met on Sat at the downtown campus. There were 9 modules, with 1 homework and 1 quiz for each module plus a midterm halfway through and a non-cumulative final at the end. I was dreading before I started but the professor was amazing and I learned a lot. Take class in person if you can.

My only real complaint for this professor would have to be his handwriting. Besides this, he is a good professor w/ easy to understand lectures. He used MyMathLab for grading where you can retake things all semester. Two chances for module test w/ 3x5 notecard notes. Sometimes has a harsh tone when speaking, but he's never mean or rude.

Professor Getahun was great! I took his online class and its very self taught. He was easy to access for help and he was willing to work to help bring grades up. There was LOTS of homework and a quiz for each unit, both have unlimited attempts. There was two tests and a final exam and reviews for those. Overall this class was great and I recommend!

Professor Getahun made my first statistics class a breeze. He is Ethiopian and has an accent, but the accent doesn't hinder communication. Getahun is very passionate about mathematics and statistics, so he doesn't drone on like other professors. He was very helpful this semester and his weekly work was easy to access and complete.

I was worried about Calc. 1 until I attended Prof. Getahun's class, and the nerves quickly dissipated. He is a great lecturer who truly enjoys his job, and only wants you to succeed. Just pay attention in class and do the assignments on time - you will do great!

Well-rounded prof. Only 4 assignments, 2 tests, and a final in the course. Final is cumulative but he discusses what needs to be studied before each exam. Attendance not required but does take attendance. Compared to other CS classes, this is going to be one of your easiest ones. I wouldn't put it off tho because a few missed classes & ur lost.

Solid math instructor

Professor was great. very easy to understand however the exams were really long and very repetitive kind of procedures for the questions. Overall, He has interesting and very useful topics and exercise.

Professor is enthusiastic. He wants you to grasp the material and will stay with you after class to go over things you may not understand. Will go over practice exam questions with class before proctored exams. Weekly homework/quizzes. Some of the material in the exams were not covered during lecture, so it was a bit confusing. Otherwise, great!

I took Professor Getahun's in person statistics class, and it was terrific! You can tell he cares very deeply about his teaching, and his lectures are so fun to listen to. He has an accent but it's not hard to understand him and I think it honestly makes the lectures much better. Gives practice exams for finals, lectures are great, and work is easy

On canvas, all lecture notes, formulas, and lecture practice questions are provided for each module. To pass, attend ALL lectures and take notes. 3x5 notecards are allowed during exams.

He was very kind and understanding of things happen in life. there are projects and they are not difficult to do. he is not to strict at all and he understands students if things happen. we also used math lab which is a good math program.
