he's a great guy that helps the best he can. if you have a math class to take, and he is offered, you're best suited with him. his math tests are even multiple choice which is always a plus...

His tests are pretty fair and easy ( Multiple Choice) and he always tries to get his students to laugh. A good guy. I would definately recommend taking him!

he doesn't usually collect the homework and when he does give homework he tells you weeks in advance to give you time. He is very fair and if you miss class you dont feel like you missed too much. He doesn't make it part of your grade either. Take him..he's a great guy!

Decent. Sometimes not the clearest while teaching, but will do anything under the sun to help the student out. He will meet you at the library to study absolutely ANYTIME you want.

This was the easiest class ever. I mean half the time we got bonus points for showing up to class. Its basically a review of all high school math. The teacher is really cool too and tells funny stories.

Yong Colen is amazing! I loved going to his class even though I am pretty sure he hated me and my friends! This class is so easy it's ridiculous. He is very clear about what he wants, and gives tons of bonus points for playing computer games. There is no way you could do bad in this class unless you were a moron. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!

Pretty easy and very nice prof, tries to be funny and helpful...go to class because he gives quite a bit of bonus...there isn't much work to do, except a section of you workbook that gets turned in right before exams...the exams aren't too bad either. I'd take him again and i am not good at math at all..probably will get an A in the class

He's a really nice guy, and the class is extremely easy. Go to class because he gives a ton of bonus points and because he's really good at teaching the material so you understand it. His tests are also really easy, I've never gotten lower than a 97 and I'm not really a math person. I would take him again for a math class if I could!

Nice prof gives you a list of the HomeWork at the before he startes the chapter and it is due by the end of the chapter. Gives a test after every chapter. A lot of extra credit. Accept late work without taking any point off. Easy A.

Actually a class I can sit through! I'm good at math, but he makes it doable to get an A even if you're not. 20% of grade is attendance & can miss up to 5! Gives out extra credit. Quizzes take-home sometimes and multi-choice. Hw is never collected so no one does it really. I'd take him again for sure.

I got a 8am scheduled math class..1st day? missed class, but I went to him that same day and told him I missed it and he allowed me to sit in at a later class which right away told me he would be a cool professor. He is very quiet and has a korean accent. It's not hard to get used to though. He explains problems fairly well. All of the homework and exams are online. He lets you work ahead and sets the due date far in advance. He can be very funny too! I highly recomend.

Dr. Colen has a great personality and his class is usually enjoyable. However, he can sometimes take the jokes too far if you are sensitive. The homework is excessive and often feels like busy work if you are already decent at math. Read the book and put in the work and you should get the grade you want.

I had Professor Colen for stats 217 online during a winter session. The course was done via Khan Academy. He graded in a way to support his students. He also periodically checked in to make sure we were on track. He was also able to reach, despite the course being during break /online.

We had 2 exams for this course, and a final at the end of the semester. Do the homework problems, they're similar to the exam questions. He's one of IUP's best in the math department, very knowledgeable!

Professor Colen makes statistics easy to grasp. With his "backward" learning method and helpful class format, this course can be manageable. I found unstuck AI and the free Khan Academy resources especially useful for exam prep.
