very boring lectures-teaches out of the book too much- difficult tests
very dull, follows the book too much
Monotonous drone will cure insomnia. Quick to assume that you don't care about school and thus becomes unwilling to provide the necessary help.
He has so much knowlege about subject. His lecture is hard, but if we study and review everyday, we don't have any problem with test. after taking this class, i was able to understand airplan performance.
Very hard to follow lectures. The homeworks are crazy unless you have the old ones. The tests are very random and involve derivations :( The grading is ruthless...I had him for fluids too. No different. You think you're failing, but somehow you pass.
This professor is probably the worst professor at embry riddle, Unfortunately we can not take anyone else due to the fact he is the only one who teaches the subject. THis situation like many others are why i'm not returning to riddle for my masters.
He is very boring and his tests are hard. Teaches directly from the book so you don't even need to go to class. He is very strict on grading tests, if you miss a minus sign that is like 5 pts off.
he is very intelligent and is very clear on everything he teaches.he makes everything fairly simple and will go the extra mile to help you. work hard and he will notice.its all about your effort to understand the material.if you put out the effort, a good grade (whatever it is to you) is possible.
He teaches straight from the book, but he does cover everything you need to know. Longest test with the shortest amount of time that I have ever taken.
Ruthlessly grades his sadistic 'exams' with a hatred unseen since World War Two. He has been sent to destroy and degrade all whom appear before him. Avoid this man at all costs. If you must take him, may God have mercy on your soul.
Horrible professor, avoid at all costs. Tests were very difficult and grading was unfair. And he was never available during his office hours.
This guy absolutely sucks!
Extremely unhelpful, very boring, test are long, hard and full of..... Test avgs are in the 40s and no curves. Will only get angry if you go to his office. This is probably the worst prof. I have had at riddle.
i wrote the last post.i take some of it back. He compromised with the class, added a bonus on his second test...my grade improved dramatically...second test was hard problems in the book...work your a$$ off and get a good grade....compared to some other teachers ratings, i'll take him again.
He isn't that bad as everybody says he is. His lectures are boring though. For the test, you pretty much should over all HW questions, exapmles from the book, and problems he did in class. You should be fine if you do all that.
Avoid him at all cost. No personality and a very boring guy. Not much help during his office hours. He is definitely the worst ERAU has to offer.
He's an OK lecturer but his tests are really hard and so is his grading. Seems to go out of his way not to help students out. I have A's in all my other classes but I had to drop this class because it was so bad. There is something wrong when 70% of the class fails a test.
This guy sucks. Whatever you do DO NOT take him, even if it means you are here an extra semester. A Nazi when it comes to grading, and will only let you do things his way, which is the longest, most roundabout way of doing things. Getting a 70 on his tests is akin to winning the lottery.
Awesome professor, cares about the students, very understanding and straightforward. One of the best professors at Riddle. It was worth paying $2700 for his class. If you want to learn, he is the man, he knows his stuff. Do his homeworks and put some effort in his class, result is an easy 'A'.
Truth be told, Lee is a tough grader. He's not going to give you an easy A. You have to work for it. But he takes his time and explains things to you. He cares about student progress and student critiques. And he's very helpful when you go to his office. He's a good instructor. You just have to be willing to put forth the effort.
Tough grader. If you go to his office with questions, he becomes easily irritated and impatient. I've decided to postpone taking ES 305 during a semester when someone other than Lee is teaching it. I thought he was a horrible and very condescending instructor. I never want to have him again.
Highly recommended for fluids! Extremely knowlegeable, Little accent, Average grader. Throws curve balls on tests. Only way to study for them is to make sure you understand the concepts. I wish could've taken him for Aero 1.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring. Tests are reasonable though...if you can make it through class (he has an attendancy policy) then he's allright. Pop Quizzes will kill your grade though. Do the work and you'll pass.
Wow, probably the worst teacher I've ever had. Not only do his pop quizzes kill your grade, but the tests are made from the hardest, most confusing, of the homework problems... the ones no one got in the first place. He cant answer questions, hes condescending when he tries, and he will not accept that he is the one with 95% of the problem.
Really not a bad teacher. Tests are pretty easy and are basically straight from book examples or the homework. If you put some effort into it it isn't hard to get an A
Really not that bad of a teacher, but tests are brutal. Notes are very organized, but he will spend a week on theory and only a day on examples. HW is mandatory, if you don't hand it in on time, you still have to hand it in for "no credit" otherwise you will receive an "I". Cannot answer questions!!! Not helpful if you go to his office!!!
Lee must be reading this board. He has improved on everything mentioned. Tests were hard, but not ridiculous. He was helpful everytime I asked a question. He is extremely prepared for class. All the notes are on blackboard. He really tries to convey the concepts.
He has definitely improved. Tests weren't too bad, even though most of the class had to write reports on what they did wrong. He holds study sessions once a week if you need help. Homeworks were difficult at times. Kind of worries me when other profs are teaching material that Lee deems "unimportant." The book doesn't really help at all
he's a good lecturer..he teaches you stuffs u need 2 know..homeworks can be a pain in the *** and tests will pretty much be based on the homeworks.. but be warned, he is a strict 1 and will put in minimal effort to help u
I must say he is a a pretty good professor but that doesn't help a whole lot when it comes to his tests. . His HW is really hard because he specifically picks problems which the books doesn't help you with and if you go the office he WILL NOT HELP!This class is a waste of time....you spend hours and days studying for an exam you cannot solve!
I don't know who is leaving good comment about this professor because you definetly want to stay away from him. He's fine if you take him over the summer other than that don't even try. This class was a waste of money and time. This teacher could not care less about you and your questions. He never smiles or cracks a joke...his classes are presente
Had him for Dynamics and Fluids. He is better at teaching fluids than dynamics. But sucks at both. He does not care about the students. He does not have any sense of humour and you learn nothing during class. Print out his notes and read the book from cover to cover, because he expects you to know everything in the book. First Class ****

Worst professor I have ever taken. Difficulty of tests is much higher than any examples in class or from book. Doesn't seem to care about student's grade or what they learn. As unhelpful as they come. Avoid at all costs.
the guy doesnt help at all in his office hours, thinks everybody but him is stupd and gives classes that require a lot of coffee, mountain dew and whatever else your riddle bucks can afford to keep you awake! do not take him!!! his exams are 10% from the homework or example problems, the rest I have no idea where he gets it from, and you wont know
Not very approachable when you want to come to his office to ask questions. He is easily irritated and impatient.
I heard that Dr Lee was so hard and I wasn't expecting a good grade in his class, but as long as I did the homework I was perfectly fine on the tests. He usually only gives one question that is really hard.

This is what happend when a professor has always worked at a university and never worked in real life. Dry Boring Theory. I have to drop it cause the first test killed me.
DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY, He is the worst professor I have ever had in my life!
Dr. Lee is not very approachable when you come to his office. He's very impatient and not helpful. I made sure never to have him again for a class after taking him for ES 206.
You need to know the material to pass his class. A large amount of homework. Test questions are from the homework and one brand-new problem. Does not go into what you did wrong on tests. Gives you the hard problems rather than the simple ones. Boring teaching style.
Lee is not a totally bad teacher. His methods are improving from what I can see. His biggest problem is that he is very close-minded, stubborn, and not open to change. On the good side, his tests and quizzes are straight from the book. If you follow the in-class examples and the HW, you will do fine in his class.
The best thing about his class is that he gives a quiz 2 days before exam and so you are already prepared for the material much before exams. He is not hard at all. He is the best professor if you really want to learn the material. He was strict earlier but now he has become lenient in exams and quizzes. So,just be serious to get an A.
stuck up. doesn't like his students. doesn't like you unless you already know the material. will not take again if possible
I had Dr. Lee for both ES204 and ES206. I really enjoyed his class although ES206 was a little boring. He is very knowledgeable of the subjects and explains things very well. His notes are excellent and his grading is difficult but fair. I would definitely take this professor for ES204 because it prepares you for later (and harder) classes well.
don't take
You Failed
Dr. Lee is the single most boring human being on the face of the earth. He teaches off PDF files. He is not necessarily a bad professor, but he's not a good professor either. What's bad is he thinks he's an awesome prof, so grades and tests like that. I don't know anyone who's ever taken him by choice. Avoid him whenever possible. SERIOUSLY.
The only reason I took him for thermo is that out of 4 open sections, he had 3, and the 4th was full before I could even register. Do yourself a favor, don't take him for anything. You're better off waiting till the next semester to take whatever class from a competent professor.
Took Dr. Lee for thermo and I have to say he is probably one of the most under-rated professors around. The way he teaches (albeit its a little boring) makes it quite clear. His notes/examples on the board are pretty straight-forward. People who don't like him simply fail because they dont pay attention.
Took fluids with him in summer B and I must say he is one of the BEST professors I had in my life! He is boring but he knows what he teaches, and if you really want to learn the subject select him. Everyone who hates him is either doesn't have an enough brain for a basic engineering subject like this or just didn't work enough.
I love fluids but this professor is terrible at teaching it...
This course is Dynamics. Dr. Lee is very well organized and methodical. Take good notes and do the homework. If you use a solution manual to solve the homework, you WILL struggle on the tests. Study your butt off and you will do well. Do not think this class will be easy. You get what you earn, there is no curve and no forgiveness in grading.
He will bore you to death and grades hard. The class examples are nothing like the homework or tests.
He is a decent professor. he doesn't give strange problems on tests. if you want to get an A, just practice and understand the homework and example problems (as he will tell you to do) and you are fine. He explains really clearly
DO NOT TAKE HIM! The tests are straight from the homework and class examples but he does not appear interested in the class and puts everyone to sleep. Difficult to follow the lecture.
Dr lee gives monotone lectures and is a harsh grader. His exams are the hw and class problems, word for word. He does not give partial credit for his multiple choice problems but will take points away for any mistake in the procedure, even when you get the right answer. He is not helpful during office hours. Avoid at all costs. You will pass or fail
Just do yourself a favor and avoid this professor.
Not the best lectures. He is really boring and hard to stay awake for. However, he is really straight forward about what is on the tests. You just need to understand the homework and examples he works. I basically taught myself and received a decent grade.
Dr. Lee is a pretty good professor. His Exams consists of hw problems, class examples, or other problems that you will see throughout the course, but that doesn't mean that they are easy tests. You still need to know the information. Final is different questions. He is helpful and good to take.
Class is very straightforward. He doesn't hide anything, but he doesn't give any free passes to anyone. Don't try and bs him. If you understand the homework and follow his procedures, you'll pass.
Lectures are very boring. He is very knowledgeable. He has lots of office hours. Homework is easy as half is just copying the text book examples and the other is like 3 problems. Test and quizzes are straight from the homework and in class examples. He is a very hard grader. I mean very hard. I got a C in a quiz because i had the wrong sign.
Everything you need will be presented to you in a very clear cut and blunt manner. His lectures are very monotone however. Test and quiz questions are taken directly from homework and class examples. You will never be tested on something you have not seen before. If you fail this class you have no one to blame but yourself.
Look, this is the first time I've ever felt the need to post a review on a professor/ have failed a class. Do yourself a favor and avoid if you want an easier life. Unless you're a masochist. Tests come directly from the Homework and example problems. Literally the same questions. However, expect 2-3 problems out of 33 assigned/given on test
Dr. Lee is quite possibly the worst professor I've ever had. He only ever briefly touches on concepts in class but for the majority of the time works out the examples in the book. He is extremely unfriendly with grading and partial credit and tests are tough with few questions so one mistake costs big time. Avoid if possible!
I have taken two very tough professors in the past, but this one is like both of those two combined with extra toughness because why not. If you are taking this class with him, make sure your other courses are very tough or have high loads of work. This is class taught by Dr. Lee should be a PhD level course or a MIT Honors course-absolutely tough!
I have taken two very tough professors in the past, but this one is like both of those two combined with extra toughness because why not. If you are taking this class with him, make sure your other courses do not demand a lot of work. This class taught by Dr. Lee should be a PhD level course or a MIT Honors course, it is absolutely tough! Good Luck
DO Not take him. they should really fire him.
Lee has a bad habit of meticulously going through easy example problems in class (taking up most of the time) and giving long, complex, and difficult to understand homework problems. His grading scale is confusing and his use of technology leaves much to be desired. Do not take him if you value your GPA and free time.
Avoid this professor for any class. Lee is incredibly boring and does not actually teach dynamics. He explains examples that will be on the exams and that's it. The homework and examples are literally the exams though so studying is pretty clear. But is comments are degrading and unprofessional. He nit-picks everything.
Dynamics is a tricky subject, and he makes it even more complicated. Sure, he explains subject matter clearly, but his lecture delivery is slow and monotonous. I get sleepy in his classes due to that. Also, his grading is strict and leaves no room for extra credit. In short, you would not want to take him for this subject.
Prof. Lee has a solid understanding of thermodynamics, but not how to teach. His lectures are basically just speeding through deriving formulas, with little explanation of what everything means. His accent makes it hard to understand him, although you will get used to it with time. Tests are entirely practical, aside from the final.
Professor Lee gives you all of the material needed for you to pass the class. His teaching is super clear and he posts notes for class on canvas so you can print it out and bring it to class. His hw is from textbook examples , and a maximum of 5 extra problems. He only gives hw after he goes through example problems in class and it is due in a week
Very tough grader. Grades on the smallest of details. He is a really good person at heart, but not the best at teaching. Notes are pre-printed. Test are based on text examples. Just do the examples and memorize how he does them and you'll do okay on the test. The grade in the class is 90% test so beware. He can also tell when you use Chegg.
Smart dude with a lot to teach about whatever subject you are learning, but can be very monotone and unengaging. It was hard for me to stay awake in that class. He's a tough grader too, but is fair and takes HW problems and textbook examples for his test and quizzes. Also, the HW can be long and challenging and are not online for reference
This professor is the most boring creature on the planet. He reads of his lecture notes which are available online, and draws the occasional graph to keep you "engaged." Your grade is based on 6 assessments and maybe 7 HW assignments. The assessments are pretty straightforward if you know what your doing, so they are difficult. Class average was 55
One of the worst professors I have taken at this school. He gives you everything you need to succeed but is not very good at teaching what needs to be understood. Test problems are directly from homeworks and class examples but it does not matter because you won't understand what is going on anyway so hopefully you can memorize a bunch of problems
I did not learn a single thing in this class because of this man. The only reason I passed was because all of his exams and quizzes were from the homework problems or class examples. He does not teach at all so doing the problems made no sense so you would just memorize 15+ problems before an assessment. He was really rude during his office hours.
I took him for thermo and decided to take him again because I knew his teaching style and it worked well for me. I can see how other people would consider him a difficult professor, but doing the homework is really important for you to understand the concepts and do well on the tests. His lectures are very thorough and good notes are important.
Forget everything you've heard about this man. He is by far the best professor to take for ES305. I learned so much from him. The homework is a little long at times but you learn a lot from doing it. The exams are hard but not impossible. This was a flawless course that made me want to learn more. Can't recommend him enough for thermodynamics.
Professor Lee tries his best but I don't think he was built for teaching. Could barely pay attention. He does try to get you to participate, which I can understand, but he can come off as intimidating and condescending which scares most people off. Don't take him unless you have to. If you do, prepare to devote an excessive amount of attention.
Prepare to show up to class and leave knowing nothing. This guy is a caricature of a boring professor. Has no personality, no teaching skills, and assigns difficult tests. Most miserable hour and fifteen Ive ever had to sit through. Drop him and take a good professor. Barely got an A.
Professor Lee was generally a good professor. His lectures were very thorough, and there were no surprises when it came to the tests. I left feeling like I actually learned thermodynamics leaving his class, but his teaching style is not very exciting and he does give lots of homework. Luckily, the homework is very similar to the tests.
Prof. Lee is a good teacher. He explains clearly in class and then goes over examples for each chapter. Though, I recommend sitting near the front to listen to him properly. Homeworks are hard but makes you learn, and tests are much easier than homework. Thermodynamics is a hard topic, but he knows a lot and explains things properly in the class.
Took him for both ES305 and ES204. He honestly has both of my favorite qualities in a professor, clear speech and amazing handwriting. He goes over key points in each chapter and then does a bunch of textbook examples. His tests are all online, and he wants you to make sure you do it correctly so he gives you 12 hours, also allows for corrections.
Professor Lee is a decent professor who could improve his online notes but his in class notes are very helpful! Writes example problems and explains them and explains things if people are confused. Tests are online and you get 2 attempts to help with learning and not just getting a grade. Decent grading scale, not a bad choice!
Don't know how his rating is this high, every single person I have talked to about him cant stand him. Terrible teacher who cannot focus on a single problem, and when he does, he spends the whole time on the easiest parts of it, like what Cartesian coordinates are, and never shows the solution. Only good thing is that his tests are all online.
He's not the best, but not the worst. His lectures feel like a waste of time because he goes over examples but focuses on the minuscule details. Everything that I've learned, I had to teach myself. You can tell he knows the material but he isn't a good prof. His tests are online and if you don't make full points, you take it again with the same q.
Dr. Lee is one of the most boring lecturers I have ever had. He goes on and on occasionally asking students a very simple question. The course content doesnt seem to align well with the exams. His attendance policy is ridiculous. If you miss more than 2 classes you have to do a mandatory final project or be automatically failed. Avoid if DSS
Dr. Lee is the most boring lecturer I have ever had. He over-explains simple concepts and breezes through more intense ones. He gives no partial credit on the exams (theyre online) but you get 2 attempts (both are graded). If you miss more than 2 classes prepare for a long and difficult final project (that he will fail you if you dont complete)
Dr. Lee is extremely slow when lecturing. It's unbearable. If he asks a question in class, he will wait until it's answered correctly. Expect to get through 2 or 3 max examples per class. If you miss 2 classes, expect a no-credit project during finals in addition to the final for the class. Overall, absolutely avoid this professor.
The only thing that he has going for him are that his tests are online. He is a horrible professor and you will probably not learn one thing in his class all year. He is hard to understand, and even when you can he spends his time overexplaining something easy in a problem, then tells you to do the dynamics part of it on your own.
Horrible professor. His lectures are boring, the way he setup exams is awful. Makes student ask in class about how it's setup because is confusing and gets mad about it. Bad at communicating. His lectures are the most boring 50 mins of my life. Do urself a favor and do not take at all
I don't know a single person that was able to pay attention in class, its the most boring lecture u will ever have to sit through. Takes 1% off ur final grade every time u are absent. Doesn't give partial credit on exams, instead gives a retake but takes the average not the better score. Exams are HARD. Judgemental if u answer things wrong in class
If you can think of everything that makes a professor awful, that is him. He would mention something once and then expect you to remember it forever. He doesn't fully work out his problems and just kind of points and tells you this is what you should do but doesn't explain why which makes it hard to replicate. Save yourself now.
If you fully participate in the class and spent significant time studying and practicing, then you will do fine in the class. His teaching style is pretty poor, but you need to rely on your ability to teach yourself. The final for his class is impossibly hard, but he helps you as much as possible
Spends 25 minutes of class teaching, then the rest of the class doing attendance and announcements, which feel like it could be done through Canvas. It does feel scary asking him questions sometimes, but he will talk about it until you understand. Loves to nag, but I can't really be mad because it did somewhat work in the end. Final exam is HARD.
Most people are too hard on this guy. He's not a fantastic lecturer but his exam questions are based on hw and class examples so just pay attention and he's fine. You'll never be tested on something you haven't seen before. He's also very generous on partial credit. Although I am mad at him for not rounding my grade up 1% to an A, even after asking
I took Thermo twice, first by Rodriguez, but Lee was so much better. Lee offered lecture notes, example questions, and videos. The test questions were from the homework and textbook, and the final was just multiple-choice.
He is a good professor. He explains things clearly and I was never lost in his lectures. He doesn't judge people for asking questions like reviews say. Tests are all homework questions but he grades on perfection and will doc points if you write something irrelevant to the problem, however the exams weren't too hard and the final was pretty easy.
Dr. Lee's teaching style isn't the most engaging, but if you stay focused and utilize resources like the free textbook and Unstuck AI, you can do well. The exams are challenging but fair - just be sure to attend class and practice diligently.
Phenomenal professor. Has a vast knowledge and understanding of thermodynamics. Teaches very simply, yet scientifically. You will learn to think more intelligently as a result of this class. Dr. Lee is by far the best professor out there for thermo. Thermo is by nature a tough class, but if you show up and pay attention, you'll do great.
This guy discriminated against me due to my race and didn't hide it either. AVOID at all costs. If you disagree with his grading don't even bother trying to refute it. He does not take critisism lightly and will not like you for the rest of the semester. I went to the dean and they couldn't even solve it bc he's "too powerful".
Professor Lee is the definition of tough but fair. He is good at explaining things in class and the tools for success are clearly laid out. I found his class very difficult but came away with a solid understanding of Dynamics by the time I took my final. He comes off as a little cold and stoic, but actually he is pretty friendly if you talk to him.
He is a very tough professor, very difficult to learn. He is incredibly monotone and will say something critical in class one time and expect you to remember it weeks later. It is a hard class, however Yongho Lee makes it significantly harder. I think he is just a lazy guy and does not want to repeat himself. Beware that your final is all concepts
HW takes too much time to be worth 10%. Tests are 88% of the grade & the final is conceptual. We never did anything conceptual in class. 63% of your grade depends on 6 questions. Won't test you on anything you haven't seen, but will change the problems to be much harder. Midterms were VERY different types of ?'s and difficulties between sections.
When I walk to this guy's class, I hope that an airliner hits the ground I'm standing on. 88% of grade is 3, 2-question exams, he DOES NOT REVIEW, and if you ask him abt the exam, he'll tell you to look over the 69 problems you did in class. He also talks to you like you're an idiot if you raise your hand, then gets mad no one has questions 0/10 NO
