She talks to fast. Expects you to have her amount of knowledge during discussions. Study guides are insane, but tests were not that bad. Grading is unclear. She knows what she wants you to learn or write, but very unclear in relaying that information.
Prof Wangdi is a gem at GVSU. An incredible resource for those who are SINCERELY interested in learning about Southern Asia. The class shouldn't be taken just for fun b/c she has high standards for students and genuinely wants them to learn!!!
I was sincerely interested in Southeast Asia, since I plan to travel there next year, but this professor almost made me not want to go. Avoid her at all costs, she will suck the desire to learn out of you with her rudeness, disrespect, and unhelpfulness.
talks really fast, grades based on her expectations, which are too high for a class where most of us have had no previous experience with the subject and most of us are going to be schoolteachers, not Indian history experts. If you can, avoid her class!
She's not very good at answering questions, she gets confused. Her lectures became more liner through the semester, she jumped around a lot at first. She can come across as rude-i don't think she's used to american students yet. i learned a lot though!!
Not as bad as you may think. Yes, there is a ton of new information, and she skips around a lot - and doesn't always answer questions very well. BUT, she is very nice and friendly if you seek help outside of class..take only if you can handle a challenge
History of India. Being from India she made the class more interesting, she is nicest and one of the most helpful profs that I have ever had, the class was challenging and as far as i am concerned was the best history prof I have had in a long time:)
WHEN SHE SPEAKS SHE CAN BE UNCLEAR BUT WHO ISN'T WHEN YOU DONT SPEAK ENGISH CLEARLY? A LOT OF NOTETAKING AND YOU HAND SEEMS TO FALL ASLEEP OR GETS A MAJOR CRAMP IN IT. SHE TALKS VERY FAST AND VERY UNCLEAR BUT IS A VERY NICE PROF AND SWEET
Really neat person.Very into her teaching.Wants to be fair in her methods.Learned much from her and recommend her. She can at times have a heavy accent. She's great,I would gladly take more classes from her. STUDY FOR HER TESTS
She can come off a bit rude and sometimes even if you study you don't do all that well on tests...and the note taking is ubsurd, sometimes 5 pages a day and this is just a gen ed. Lectures sometimes go in circles, hard to follow
In all honesty, one of the worst classes I've taken here at GV. Learned very little, course had no relevance, prof. had poor organization & never lectured. Very disappointing.
Wonderful human being, but perhaps teaching isn't the best occupation for her.
After being in the History Department for 4 years...I have had a lot of different professors, and this was by far the most disappointing class. I feel as though I have not learned a thing. For my capstone I feel as though I was cheated!
Hard to understand and follow at first. She repeats everything several times though. Overall not to bad though if you can put up with repativeness.
This class was really bad at first because she is hard to understand. She also takes attendance religiously every day. Then I got used to her teaching style and actually found the class pretty interesting. Watch out- tough grader for papers!
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! She does not speak English. The only good thing about the class is that it is over! Very closed minded and topics are not presented in an objective manner, completely her opinion.
Worst class I've ever taken. Don't take her, she doesnt' know how to teach and she makes no sense most of the time. While she is a nice person, she is the worst Prof I have ever had, and wish I could have my money back. Grades papers harder than most deserve. Repeats EVERYTHING a million times..
Very knowledgeable. Very strict grader on papers but if you go and talk to her she will correct them for you.
Hard papers but helpful prof
Quite suprised by the comments about her: required minimal work. Her lectures were interesting and she spoke with an EMIC perspective rather than an outsider to East Asian Religion. She knows the difference between minimal effort and a student's personal best. Don't slack, come to class...get an A!
She really is a nice lady but shes not cut out to teach at least this class. She seemed to not know exactly what she was talking about all the time. She says um and ok alot which bothered me. She also talks in circles which is annoying.
This is one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. The prof is really knowledgeable and she is just plain amazing when it comes down to it. Your quizzes are papers that are kinda hard and the final is an essay exam which you are given all the questions before hand. Great class!
"Emic" perspective is more akin to outright bias. Talks in circles, repeats herself constantly. For some reason she uses paper on a projecter instead of Powerpoint, which is rediculous. Definately don't take it if you've taken any other Eastern philosophy or religion classes before either. BAD BAD!!
I thought she was very angry towards students and didnt offer help on papers or other assignments.
Could not understand her at times. Not very helpful. discussions were okay, but she does not know how to run an effective discussion
very unclear at times, class is difficult if you don't pay close attention, tests are sometimes off topic than what we talk about in class, be sure to do the reading!
I had her right after transfering from Community College. She made me want to go back. In some class discussions I actually had to correct her facts. This is an f'n history class for god's sake you should know what you are talking about! She was also very condescending. Avoid her like the plague!
She repeats things alot!! Writes random things on the board, gets off topic easily. Seriously, take your own notes during class and when you hear the same thing repeated 3+ times, write it down,
Shes nuts! more than not i cant understand a thing she says. she goes off on random topics, and doesnt speak clear. shes nice, but not teaching material.
Everyone on this must be crazy. She is quite a helpful and knowledgable teacher. She doesn't have the american history background that most of you were looking for most likely. But her east asia and indian knowledge I'd say is without equal. She can be confusing at times though because her english isn't 100% clear, so she repeats herself a lot.
history of east asian religion...forgot the number she is a very interesting teacher and knows what she is talking about. she will explain anything you dont understand and get conversations going within the class. tests are all essay but she gives you the questions beforehand.
This is the most compassionate person i've ever met in my entire life. You learn SO MUCH in her class, and yes, you may have to work for your grade, but it is extremely worth it. If you take a class with her, attend every lecture and PAY ATTENTION. Take good notes and and ask questions! You'll do fine if you work at it.
Dr. Wangdi is very compassionate and loves her students. IF you want a excellent example of her knowledge, take HST 342 and you're learn so much. She does make you work for your grade, but once you succeed you feel very satisfied. Talk to her outside of class and you will like her even more.
AWFUL! I didn't learn anything in this class, and whenever I asked questions, she just dismissed me. She's knowledgable about a couple of areas and has some interesting stories, but overall, she is very biased and I would not recommend this class.
Spends way too much time on Hinduism and not enough on the Chinese religions. Also uses class to push her own political agenda (Tibetan refugees). Attending lecture is essential.
She is a very nice and interesting lady, but she is very demanding as a professor. The class is reading intensive and attending lecture is essential for success. She gives comprehensive review sheets for the exam (extremely helpful). Work hard, get an A. Slack off and you grade will reflect your effort. This class is completely what you make of it.
She dismisses any questions you have and looks at you like youre an idiot. Encourages office meetings, then acts like she doesnt want you there. Heavy focus on Buddhism(her own religion) and nothing else. Expects you to have essays done in one week, and doesnt return tests or essays until at least 3 weeks later. Terrible.
She is a very nice person, with a good sense of humor. You can tell she is interested in what she teaches, so it makes it more interesting as she teaches. However, she does grade slightly harder than other profs, but at a 300 level, that is expected. Just make sure to come to class every time!
Professor Wangdi's accent makes it difficult to understand her, at first, but you get used to it. She is exceptionally useful, mostly stays on topic and fills her class to bursting with information. She never wastes class - or her students' time. She knows exactly what she wants and is willing to meet with students outside class to help them.
I really wish that she would leave Grand Valley. She did not help my learning of the actual history of India. She just talked about how great it was to grow up there. I took another class that actually talked about the history of India and proof of its history and it was completely different from what she taught from opinion!
Difficult prof. When writing papers, be specific, don't be repetitive, and follow her desired guidelines and you'll survive. Her quizes can be difficult, so study hard. She always makes you write essays. The final isn't that bad if you study a lot, but it seems she teaches that class not at a 200 level, but at a 3 or 4oo level.
Do not take her!
This class was awful. The professor is very nice but ineffective at teaching. When students ask questions she is not very helpful. She has a tendancy to repeat the same thing over and over which is awful. The essay topics for the exams are very vague although it seems she is looking for a very specific response. There is a lot of reading every week
A lot of people don't like this professor because they say she is really hard, but has become one of my favorite professors. She has very interesting background stories from her life in India and is very passionate about history. I got so much more than just a grade out of this class because of her.
The most awful class I have ever taken; I would not recommend this class to anyone. Lectures are so unclear it is hard to follow; she tries to cover an unreasonable amount of material in a given class period; she is extremely repetitive & goes on tangents constantly. She expects very precise answers on exams but gives vague guidelines.
She can be difficult to understand and sometimes moves rather quickly through the material. Asia is emphasized although it is world history. Her quizzes aren't too bad if you study the questions she gives you.
If you want to recite history exactly as the textbook records, take this class. Otherwise, I wouldn't advise a class with her. NO analyzing, no outside ideas allowed. Only the minute details she finds important.
The most difficult grading professor I've had in college. She is very intent on grading format of a paper. This is not implied in the directions she gives. It seems she has had many issues with multiple students about how she grades. I would recommend taking another professor if possible.
Very hard grader. Stay away. She looks for the perfect answer. I learned a lot in the class but my grade doesn't show it. Her papers are graded mainly on format. She will mark you down for the littlest mistakes.
Her accent will become easier over time. She takes attendance everyday-participation is huge with her! Be prepared to review the prior day's notes. Tests aren't bad at all, just use the study sheet. The papers are easy, and she will look over your rough draft if you ask. She's not a tough grader-just answer the questions she's asking for =)
Surprised by all the bad reviews. Learned a ton in her class and she is a fantastic professor and wonderful person. She expects a lot out of her students, but not any more than any other 300 level class. Read the text book, take good notes, and you'll do fine.
Very unclear with what she wants in the essays. Attendance is mandatory
She didn't help with anything. Very unclear about everything.
Terrible teacher! She is no help! I am a student with a learning disability and she refused to help me even though it is required by law. All her notes are verbal and she is hard to understand. She will pick people randomly to answer questions and makes you feel stupid if you dont know the answer, DONT TAKE HER CLASS!!!
Very interesting, but even for a history lover this class was hard. Personally the reading was hard due to many sanskrit, and chinese terms. The pronunciation made it hard for me to follow her. Though her lectures were very interesting, tieing her proper pronunciations to the reading was hard.
She is the only professor I would ever recommend SWITCHING OUT OF. If you do get stuck with her, know there is no possible way to get a good grade on her exams simply because you can never provide enough for her. She will always find small details you left out. Her papers are impossible, even when she gives you feedback, you will get a B. Horrible.
Very irritating teacher. I had no background to world history and I took this class to fulfill my Gen Ed and SWS. Everything she said was important, so writing notes on her pointless slides was stressful. Then she makes you study a million things for a 10 question quiz. And the questions are tiny details over like 5 chapters. Don't take her.
I did not enjoy her class there was no rubric and If you were not perfect with your answer your grade showed it.
Don't. Take. Her. Class.
Wangdi is with out doubt the worst professor i have taken at GV If history is not your strong suit I would not recommend her. She is very specific and a tough grader. her accent is hard to understand. She randomly chooses people to answer question and puts you down if she doesn't like what you said. Plus she always calls me by the wrong name
Worst 50 minutes of my day. She usually talked over the allotted time and tried to fit way too much into one lecture and was very hard to follow. Taking notes was hard. Power points were pointless and she put students on the spot to answer questions. Really tough essay grader, it was unclear what she wanted. Would not recommend, do not take ever.
Don't take this class. She is a horrible grader, and unless you can memorize the text, you wont do well. She is hard to understand and speaks too fast to take good notes. She forces participation and then will rip apart the comments you made. I wish I would have read the reviews before signing up.
With all due respect, she was a terrible professor. Shes well educated, she just doesn't know how to teach it. Also she's not nice either, kind of rude too. HIGHLY recommend to switch out and not take her class.
As a history major I found her to be the worst professor I've ever had for any history class I've ever taken, and I've taken a lot of them. She is vicious and wants participation but will tear you apart if you miss just the slightest thing. She also does not encourage outside thought but must recite the text book word by word. DO NOT TAKE HER
She was one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I went to every lecture and the material she covered just blurred together. She expects you to already know everything that she knows. She will teach from the time class starts until 5 minutes after. There are only 6 times to get points, and they are very difficult. Do not take.....
She sometimes seemed really nice. She knows a lot, so it is a VERY interesting class. However, she humiliates students in class, she is hard to communicate with, she never told us what the grading criteria was, only said participation matters over and over, I truly don't think she gives out A's, even in honors classes, & expectations are unclear.
DON'T TAKE! This class made me change my major. She would yell at us the entire class period and then let us out extremely late every single day (we never once left on time). She lectures the entire class. Additionally, she is extremely rude and demoralizing and if you get something wrong she will mock you and yell.
Wangdi is an awful professor. My friends tried warning me, but I chose to ignore them... DEFINITELY wish I would've listened. You have to participate all of the time so if you don't like that definitely don't take her. She also makes you feel stupid and like your questions are ridiculous. Very mean professor watch out
Once you get used to her teaching style and method of grading, it's not too bad.
Captivating lectures, constructive feedback, and a clear representation of what your supposed to learn make this class straight forward and easily passable.
I am shocked at the reviews I have read on Prof. Wangdi. If you show up to class and put in the work you will have NO issue passing the class with an A. If you take good notes you will do fine on the quizzes. If you don't understand something is it imperative you ask. Visiting her during office hours will help you, She wants her students to succeed
She lectures the entire class. She is ery fast and rarely repeats herself. If you ask her a question she rips you apart, which actually is kinda funny so i like to ask her a lot of questions. But the class is very passable. Just get ready to take a ton of notes. The quizzes are easy. i wouldnt take her again, but you can get through it.
Professor Wangdi was nice, and if you came to her office hours she was willing to talk to you. It was hard to understand her sometimes during the lectures and if you skip class, it will be hard to keep up because most of the lecture is not in the powerpoint. If you do the study guide, the quizzes were easy enough.
Professor Wangdi was so nice! She was willing to help you with any questions you may have during her office hours. Most of her lectures was her talking, not much on the actual presentation.
Lectures are spoken WAY too quickly - I could hardly type fast enough to get all the notes. She is disrespectful to students, constantly interrupts you, & expects answers and essays with info that comes directly from the textbook. She is a very tough grader and you have to work insanely hard to get an A. Attendance is a huge part of your grade too!
Ability to convey information is lacking. We got extremely far behind so our first 2 exams covered 3-4 chapters and our final is now over 10 chapters and both novels. Exams are 10-15 fill-in/bubble and then 1-2 written essays. Extremely short amount of time given to do written assignments.
Professor Wangdi is the best teacher I've ever had. Y'all. Look on RateMyProfessors before you register... Yes, she is strict, tough grader. You should have known that beforehand. She's also very wise, extremely engaging, inspirational, caring, again, very good at teaching. If you want knowledge/perspective, take this class. If you don't, do. :)
She lectures all hour, barely gives you good information on power-points. She thinks this is the only class you have. She knows the material really well, but talks way too fast and doesn't pause. Extremely hard grader. Sometimes is rude to students, when students ask her a simple question. Not the toughest class, but you HAVE to work for it.
Just save yourself the headache and don't. Unless you are a pro at deciphering accents and can remember every little detail about Buddhism, do not take the class. She was a very hard grader considering the circumstances of this class and was rude about it too. Takes FOREVER to grade and puts up hours of lectures late that get taken down in 24 hrs.
Just don't. Honestly if COVID didn't happen I wouldn't have passed the class. Very tough to understand, kind of mean, not helpful, and the class itself didn't help either (Buddhism and East Asian Religions). You will need the books and the group paper was dumb and confusing. Only took this class because it double dipped, not sure if I would again.
Does not respond emails. If she does she reponds with attitude. Wont let you see the lectures for more then 24 hours.
This prof needs to chill out. This is a 200-level class at GVSU, not UM or an Ivy. Her study guides are intense when the quizzes aren't even that long. She doesn't communicate well, takes forever to grade. Gives harsh essay limits then tells you you didn't expand enough. Only provides lectures the day she posts so no way to catch up, no sympathy.
Do whatever you can to avoid taking Prof Wangdi, unless you want to be interrupted every 2 seconds during your group presentation, given huge study guides for a 10 question quiz, wait forever for anything to be graded, or never get a straight answer from her. I wish I could have done credit/nocredit because of how horrible she was at communicating
NEVER AGAIN! Lectures are only posted for a few hours the day of so if you have other classes or work, there is no way to access them. She expects you to be an expert in the topics that she isn't even teaching very well and if you don't know something she gets mad and just yells at you. Barely any assignments to cushion your grade, I barely passed.
This was the worst class I have taken, mainly because of this professor. Professor Wangdi is a very tough grader, and with way too much work given. With the virtual learning you would think you would be given more time to watch over the lecture videos she makes for you right? WRONG! She takes them down the same day citing copyright. DON'T TAKE!!!
I joined her class late this online sem and was emailing back and forth to access her lectures(which she only has posted for a day)now I could catch up. I was unable to access it and showed her screenshotted proof that I could not. She blamed me for it and said "perhaps online class is hard for you to manage" I was just trying to be a good student
Though she knows a lot about the subject that she teaches, she does not make the class accessible. Only allows lectures/posts open for 12 hours 2 days a week, doesn't give adequate warning about some assignments, and piles on work. Won't work with students for schedule conflicts and gives the class an unwelcome atmosphere. Wouldn't take again.
She's honestly one of the worst professors I have ever had. She's unwilling to communicate with you or make accommodations. Know how most professors want you to reach out to them with concerns or anything alike? Well she's the complete opposite. Creates a horrible environment. Lectures only open for one day from 7am-8pm. DO NOT TAKE HER! THE WORST!
Her lectures are open from 9am to 8pm. Grading/Communication is horrible. Sent her email about quiz which she gave a bad grade on. Spent time studying and knew materiel. She made us use a LockDown Browser and camera so she could watch us take it so we didn't use notes. Then, wouldn't open it up so I could see where I went wrong. No reply to emails.
Not only was this class difficult, she was so rude. When people had conflicts with the ridiculous times she set for her online asynchronous class, she refused to make adjustments. She was rude in emails, and worse over a zoom presentation, where she yelled at us. Her lectures cover the whole textbook, and she expects you to memorize every detail.
This prof is very difficult with grading. I had her for an online asynchronous class and she only posted the lecture videos for 12 hours and then they were gone for good. Her mid terms and exams are very difficult and used lockdown and webcam. I would not take this class if you don't have to
HORRIBLE. If you dont have to take her as a prof DONT DO IT. Shes an unattainable grader, asks for a novel in under 5 pages (5 including the bibliography). 4 books for the class DONT bother buying Gandhi and Balzac book you wont need it. The discussions are super easy. Her tests review consist of 100+ definitions and only 10 questions on test.
WORST professor Ive ever had. She is a coward. Doesnt not show her face over zoom or lectures, cant understand her speak because she has broken English. She makes her students turn their cameras on but she refuses. Only 3 exams. One essay. One group project. Tests are lock down browser with camera on. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Hands down easily the worst professor I've had in my entire life. She does not care for her students, she does not give good feedback, she's too scared to respond to students emails until I went to the head unit of the department (and that finally got her attention). Expected me to know everything about a computer but never showed her face on zoom
This HST 204 World History since 1500 was the worst class ever! This was online and she uses a Lockdown Browser for quizes that are worth 100 points each, we're not allowed to use notes for tests! She's extremely difficult to understand with her broken english and she grades in huge clumps so your grades will tank before you even get to see them!
Yosay Wangdi SHOULD NOT be a professor! Quite frankly she is incompetent to be a teacher, you can barely understand anything she says, she piles on so many assignments, her lecture videos are only up for 12 hours without notice and when she removes them they're gone for good, and assignments are given without notice too! She does not belong at GVSU
Yosay Wangdi is a terrible teacher. She treats this class as if it's a grad school class when it's just a 200 level course! She throws so much assignments at you without notice and it's due within 2 days. Her lecture videos are only up for 12 hours and then it's gone, no notice. She doesnt grade either, she does them all at the end of the semester!
we need to report Yosay to the school, the amount of work she gives is so unreasonable for a class like this and she can barely speak english properly so it's extremely difficult to understand her videos. she doesn't grade our assignments so we don't know what our grades are, she does anything but proper work for us, and videos are gone in 2 days
this professor was so bad, she does not reply to emails, gives so much assignments, does not grade our homework, and expects us to memorize the chapters for tests so were not allowed to use notes on tests. i had to go to the dean for her to reply to my emails. and videos are only up for 12 hours and theyre gone for good. AVOID HER AT ALL COST!!!
She's asking us to write a novel of over 5 pages and we're not allowed to use notes on exams and tests, she needs to chill out this isn't Harvard. She's covering the entire textbook so she wants you to be an expert and thinks this is your only class you're taking. She hasn't graded any of our assignments. I'm dropping from this class, waste of time
im sorry but shes unreasonable to deal with. i shouldve read the reviews before enrolling in this class, half of the class dropped and its my turn now... im going to take this class at grcc instead, there is no reason for this professor to make this class so difficult
horrible professor, wasted my time with this class
Professor locks discussion forms after each week. Blackboard page is poorly organized, no rubric for the research project. Grading is incredibly slow; took over 3 weeks to grade an essay (under 20 people in the class) She grades at a masters level and marks you down heavily for grammar. Email responses are a joke; question is answered half the time
worst class ever. it's an asynch class but it might as well be synchronous because she uploads lectures and assignments on random days without any notice. barely any assignments to pad your grade, she JUST graded our few assignments so we were in the dark about our progress for months. there's 7 people left in my class, that shows how bad she is
Easily the worst professor ever, took weeks for her to respond to emails and she didn't even answer my questions. There's no rubric for essays so you don't even know what you're being graded on. Expect to use the entire textbook because she covers the whole thing. Marks down heavily on grammar when you can't even understand her lectures properly
5 weeks into the class I decided that a W dropped class on my transcript is worth it than continuing with her class. She needs to chill out she grades like we're taking a phd class, this is just a US history class. And she just graded our 2 assignments 5 weeks later, there's no rubric. Also, she doesn't have an office on campus, no communication
Proctored exams, no rubrics provided, instructions are vague and unclear, grading is direct and harsh, extensive study guides, terrible at responding/communicating, not understanding, takes forever to grade things, and everything is textbook-based. As a history major, this has been the hardest course I have taken and it should not have been.
Took 4 weeks to grade our first few assignments [less than 10 people in the class]. Few assignments to pad your grades. Midterm exam is proctored using lockdown browser. Grades very harshly on grammar when she herself can't use proper grammar. Didn't even answer my question on email. Do not take this professor no matter what
Impossible to understand what she's saying due to her accent, and I'm not trying to be rude, it's literally impossible to know what she's saying. She does not care about her students, grades harshly and extremely slow 5 weeks to grade 3 assignments for a class under 10 students that started with 30 because people dropped over time. AVOID THIS CLASS
WITHDRAW FROM HER CLASS WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! She waits until after the withdraw date to finally grade your assignments and essays so she can drop unfair grades on everyone so you can't dispute the grade she gave!!
I only tried my best and she says on email "maybe online classes isnt for you", well maybe you shouldnt treat this sophomore world history class as a grad class and grading assignments a month after they were due and taking a week to respond with 6 words to my email
I'm a history grad and this was the most difficult instructor I have ever had and it didn't need to be that way. She's very difficult to contact, took days to reply email. No office hours. 3 group projects for an online class with no rubric. She was the only instructor for this required class. This class is the only D on my transcript...
Professor Yosay Wangdi, in my opinion was not a great professor at all. She relied mainly on YouTube videos and did not actually teach. I thought the class was a waste of time. It would have been more enjoyable if there were pre-recorded lectures instead of power points and YouTube videos. She leaves comments on assignments and they aren't helpful
She's a tough grader. 3 big exams with MC questions, T/F, and timed essays. Lockdown browser. I took it online. Watched lectures that amounted to ~1 hr/wk. Hard to understand. I got 80% in the class. Not too much work, just annoying with grading.
She wins the award for worst professor at GVSU hands down. Her class is entirely based on memorization. She will cover the entire 1000 page textbook. 4 large exams with multiple choice trick answers. 2 group projects (why is this in an online class). She never showed herself on Zoom but expects us to, she's very unhelpful during office hours
Impossible to understand her accent. Graded in a way that didn't make sense at all. When you reach out to her to ask questions she just restates the original thing you had questions about. Expects you to have some insane background knowledge on the history of India before even being taught anything about it. Rudest professor ever.
Worst professor I've ever had. You can understand her during lecture videos and doesn't care about her students. She should be fired and never teach again.
This professor was a big disappointment. Lectures were all just YouTube videos, not actual teaching. Grading was harsh and slow, with no clear rubric. Definitely avoid this class if you can - Unstuckstudy could be a better study tool than relying on the professor.
Unreasonably difficult class and incredibly rude and condescending professor. Shes not actually teaching you anything, you're watching Youtube videos and on Zoom calls you can barely understand anything she's saying. Grades extremely harshly and doesn't tell you what you did wrong. There's no rubric on the essays. Avoid this class if you can
The FIRST GRADE was entered after 7 weeks. Lectures are confusing & questions are dodged with unrelated answers. No clear grading rubric. ALL texts are required and used. Harsh grader. Condescending attitude. Lockdown browser with camera. Timed essays on quizzes. I had to withdraw, there was no way I would have passed. Avoid this class if possible.
She uses lockdown browser with camera. Nothing has been graded yet. No rubric on essays. You will use the entire textbook and rote memorization on tests. No notes allowed on lockdown browser tests. I dropped because I know I will not pass this crazy class
Professor was terrible needs to be fired asap! Dropped it to save grade. Tests are lockdown browsers so much extra work. I wrote a beautiful essay covering all the topics needed on a lockdown browser even. She gave me a failing grade because I was not "specific" enough. Terrible DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Does not use the blackboard calendar.
Prof Wangdi is one of the hardest professors I've ever had. Doesn't remind you of upcoming tests or papers and expects you to be available for small portions of the day to do 100pt tests when you are in an LEADS program. Things are graded rarel and will not give extensions. Gives no instructions on assignments either. DO NOT TAKE!
Professor Wangdi takes forever to put grades in, is extremely hard to reach by email, and will not provide clear expectations for her assignments. She leaves poor feedback, so it is hard to decipher what you need to do better later on. Be aware that despite this class being ASYNCH, there will be a mandatory meeting at some point in the semester.
She's very heavy on recorded lectures, with sloppy slides, lots of reading weekly. Not saying its her fault but she's doesn't speak very clear english, and rushes through each topic. honestly i would never recommended taking this class.
She posts weekly video lectures with slides that say only a couple of words, then expects you to gain context through the textbook. There were two essays, a group project, a quiz, and a final. You also have pretty frequent discussion boards that count towards participation points. Would not recommend, I have no clue what my final grade will be.
